SportsWhy Nigeria Should Hire Diego Maradona As National Team Coach. by kabukabu(op): 11:11pm On Jul 05, 2010
Diego Maradona will probably be let go by the Argentines after the World Cup,He still has plenty of passion for the game, and we have the money to pay him in Nigeria. The players will respect him because he has the world cup experience and feel for the game.

That being said,I don't buy into the argument that we should have either a domestic or foreign coach,we lost because our coach had little time to create a cohesive team,if three months is all we can do,we deseve to lose.

We need to start a long term team building plan, with Maradona at the helm, and imitate the success of the EPL clubs we love to adore,by grooming players young.Thats the only way forward.

Like everything in Africa and especialy in Nigeria, it takes a while for us to catch up with the rest of civilization. Poverty is a determining factor in whatever drives us as a people. take for instance there was a topic about spouse/girlfriends washing their boyfriend/husbands clothes. ordinarily this should be a non issue because to nigerians it is "washing clothes" while to others it is simply doing "laundry" which is a strss free and sometimes fun activity. How can you do laundry when there is no electricity to do it with? or where is the money to buy the washing machine in the first place. Same thing is happening again here. there is absolutely nothing wrong in "backing" a child, my mom did it to me and my wife did it to my son. But after moving here you tend to see the wisdom in doing things in a safe, comfortable and practical way. why would my wife "back" my son when she can place him in a stroller, strap him in safely and go on a nice stroll. Like i said initially, poverty in a determining factor in the way we operate in Nigeria. Why would you even consider a stroller in Nigeria in the first place? where are the footpaths/sidewalks to take the stroller through? Our mentality is strange. Our society is strange. And our ways of doing things is strange. Also all those white females placing their children on their backs is just for fashion. i am yet to see it en masse here. them no get time for that one here.
Well said,brother.completely agree

The trolls are out in full force again, the proper albiet safer way to do it is in the front, prevents back strain.African women "back" their kids because they have so much going on in the front like washing, cooking, selling.I have never seen an American woman(black or white) carry in the back,if at all they use the front baby carrier, funny though that everyone showed pics of "white" women, when there are many different ethnic groups that live in western countries, grin grin grin.My people have a long way to go to lift the burden of " white envy" from their shoulders.

Evil Brain:
Guy, what are you saying? Gun ownership deters crime? Then the US must have really low crime statistics, wait, that's strange, they have the highest rate of gun crime of any developed country. Worldwide they're third after Columbia (aka cocaine country) and Guatemala.

South Africa allows citizens to carry guns an that country is now a crime riddled hellhole. They are now number 2 worldwide for assault and murder. One of my friends over there once told me at by 6pm he runs inside his house and hides under the bed. Its that bad.

People can't carry guns legally in the UK and thats why even gang wars mostly only lead to non-fatal stabbings. And criminals avoid using guns because they automatically attract police and media attention. Because of this most police don't need to carry guns therefore far fewer people get killed by criminals and by the police.

If guns deter crime, why is it that the countries where everyone has one have so much, crime?

You need to stop watching Fox News and use your brain friend. Have a nice evening.
The only reason crime statistics are high in the USA is sheer size and population, you should be able to figure that out, pal.but guaranteed that in terms of crime victims per 100 persons,by far nigeria leads the USthere is no doubt about that.

the mistake you are making here is believing that criminals get more guns if guns are allowed, not true, they get theirs illegally.I can't understand why most of the posters on here don't get that simple logic.Criminals will be armed, question is,will you?

By the way,CNN is my preffered News channel, not FOx grin grin grin grin grin grin

With the indiscriminate corruption, robbery, looting, thievery, vandalism, abuse of human rights & all. I am of the opinion that Nigerians should be allowed to own guns & firearms for both their personal safety & protection of their fundamental human rights. It is a well known fact that Nigeria has an insensitive Government & corrupt Leaders, this is why nothing seems to be working in the country & 1 major reason why The country with all its potentials has not been able to maximize these potentials to be amongst the great nations of the world. A country whose Government can't provide electricity, good roads, water, shelter talkless of security for its citizens. I know many people might be of the view that Nigeria is not ripe enough for this way of life, but i say this thought is wrong. If the militants had not taken up arms to get their message across to the govt, the Nigerian Government would never have taken them seriously. Not saying i am in support of the militants but this scenario can only occur when u have an insensitive Government. A country where the so called police meant to maintain law & order, secure lives & property are equally lawless & as bad as the thieves & robbers they are meant to fight. Where the Police can commit so many atrocities like extra judicial killing of the citizens they are meant to protect & go Scot free cos why they are the law & they carry GUNS. Where any slowpoke can rob you of your belongings & life cos he/she has a GUN & there isn't adequate security in place to protect you. I SAY A BIG YES TO OWNING A GUN(s). Then maybe our government can listen to us & not take us for granted. And we can equally be able to protect our lives & properties without dependin on the so called FCUKin Nigerian Police Force. & also protect our fundamental human rights & our way of life.
I agree 100% with you,it seems as if its mostly us living outside of naija understand how gun owmnership is a detterent to crime

Nairaland GeneralRe: Should Nigerians Be Allowed To Have A License To Own Guns/firearms by kabukabu(m): 3:51pm On Jul 02, 2010
Am I missing something here sad sad.Criminals everywhere not only nigeria ALWAYS have access to guns,no amount of regulation can stop that even in the US,they are armed, you can't regulate it.Give law abiding citizens the right to bear arms, simple, yes there would be cases of neighbours quarrels turning into shoot outs but same happens everywhere even in the states, but the needs here outweighs the risk by far.

You can't regulate gun crimes, thats why you prosecute ppl, guns don't kill, people do.thats why we have courts and prisons.I would rather be judegd by 12 than carried by 6.

Reduce the gun ownership range to at least 25 or 30yrs old,40 is ridiculous.many 30 yr olds are homeowners.Restrict use to homes and business,do not allow conceal carry as some states do in the US.

I know too many people who have lost their lives to robbers bullets, without a chance to have a say when their moment should come, its a disgrace.

Men, Toyota is as rugged as a Nokia phone, Honda is as sleek as a Samsung phone.

I owned a 1996 Toyota, lost it in a car accident and later owned a Honda Baby Boy. Men, I still miss the camry. The A/C is more powerful, the ruggedness is superior to Honda. I always did a wheel balancing and alignment on the Honda, every so often, unlike the Toyota.

Men, Toyota has always been my ideal car. But that Big Daddy, the designer should be hanged, so disapppointing!

Honda has always beaten Toyota in design since 2001, though; which is unfortunate considering that people go more for style than ruggedness these days. Buy Toyota should be the preffered car on Nigerian roads.

Park a white, four-cylinder 2010 Toyota Camry LE in your garage next to a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS or a Porsche Cayman S and don’t be surprised if the neighbors start wondering if you’re bipolar.

Maybe the Camry is your wife’s car. Or your grandmother’s.

But with close to half a million sold annually in the United States, Camrys are daily transportation for just about every type of buyer: The young, the old, and the somewhere in between, not to mention the automotive enthusiast, the vehicular ambivalent and the casual car fan.

No other car on offer in North America has such mass appeal as the Camry, and with a revised 2010 model just now making its way to showrooms, we decided it was time to take an in-depth look at the most mainstream of Main Street America Camrys

How does it look?
Wallflowers will delight in the Camry’s rather anonymous looks. Inevitably, with around 425,000 sold last year, the Camry isn’t the kind of car that induce double-takes and stares of admiration from the public. Our test car’s LE trim level represents the volume Camry model, which makes it all the more ubiquitous.

Simple and mostly cohesive, the Camry’s shape is hardly inoffensive. Toyota continues to play it safe with the 2010 model. Look closely and you’ll find that the grille is a little different and the tail lamps have been updated, but that’s it. Our tester was dressed up a little, but not much, by a set of optional 16-inch alloy wheels

Over the years, the Camry has gone from crisply-toned minimalist to a jellybean shape that’s a little too bulbous for our tastes. We’d like to see Toyota get a little more daring with the next-generation model. Hot Fusion sales have indicated that a polarizing design element, like the Gillette-style three-bar chrome grille, very boring

2010 nissan Maxima has both beat hands down

average age of accord owners in the US=36

average age of camry owners in the US=50 yrs over

average age of maxima owners in the US =34

don't drive your father's car, drive a Maxima, sporty/flashy and a more powerful 300 hp v6 instead of plowing along in the camry's 170 hp weak engine, robbers will catch you in the camry, but only see dust in the sport tuned Maxima.
