topup:
My belief is that we've been groomed over time to accept these things as being right, when you see a woman covering herself up admist those who aren't, you assume she is insecure, and those who aren't seem to get more attention. Of course there is a balance, you can dress so that it is flirty, but not revealing, and leaves more to the imagination, however, we are being groomed to see dressing just for comfort as a bore, and 'showing your assets' as the way forward.

Women believe that if they're not openly getting attention from men that don't have any reason to be particularly nice to them, then they are not attractive. The definition of an attractive female is that she must be widely accepted as being sexy, which means adopting what is in the the mainstream.

There used to be a time when well done braids and nicely kept natural hair was appealing to men, but now if you dont look like a celebrity, you could get dumped for a more 'glamourous' and fashionable woman.

I just think it's a phase, a very long phase, it isn't just adults who think this, I have had an issue with this since I was 15. It has gotten to the point that people think I am insecure because I don't flaunt my cleavage and wear tight fitting clothes.

I am sure most men don't mind, but what about the fathers of these girls?

USHER is a perv, they're all messed up highly sexualized individuals, from the women to the men. I really think Americans are highly responsible for the behaviour that other people copy, what we see in the media of black women, african women immitate. They don't realise that they already had a good deal, their men were more loyal because they didn't give everything up so easily to just any guy, but now. . that is rapidly changing.
Pretty uneducated and idiotic post,I'd say.you obviously have no idea how the music industry works. grin
Usher a perv? How is that ?Because he gyrates in his videos?you have serious issues.Perhaps you can't get any women because your stiff behind can't shake anything.

Seriously, musicians have been doing this for yrs,and that is what the fans want, there are different genres, so you can go listen to your opera music or some folk or country.slowtard.

Here we go again, cheesy cheesy, another wacky post that is bound to draw comments from the two types of people I despise the most.
Bible thumpers/Koran throwers/Native fowl swingers and Old,neanderthal primitive thinking guffaws who have no business in the 21st century.

It seems you can't have a post in here where someone on a mission from God/Allah or Dog,sees the need to add flavor to the discussion by introducing entire paragraphs of their "doctrine".

Same goes for the ancient meatheads who will bring up words like "tradition" and "culture" to emphasize their points but seem to forget that part of the problem holding us back are embedded in those mantras that you claim to live by.

PoliticsRe: General Kills Kidnapper by kabukabu(m): 12:09am On Aug 05, 2010
It only takes one bad guy getting shot to cause the others to scamper, criminals do not expect armed victims.they wont wait behind to hear if you reload or not, unless they are assasins.
HE IS A SOLDIER O!!! SOLDIER not CIVILIAN!!

According to ppl here, he has even been on tour to countires like Pakistan for training. I wasnt even in the Army, but I was invited to join them on one of their shooting exercises in Akwa Ibom during my National Service.

If a military personel, with a COLT 45 (which is not a commom revolver) has to use all 6 shots to kill one assailant in a kidnap attempt, he messed up.

And moreover, there isnt even evidence that he killed the guy, cos so far all we have is hearsay from his side. The police hasnt even confirmed the story yet.

Armchair coaching is always overrated,pal.
Consider the situation,he had to choose between being killed or doing the killing himself, you don't count bullets in such an environment, genius.the bad guy could have had on a bulletfproof vest, or been on drugs you often can't stop someone with small arms in that situation.you shoot till the threat is nullified, j as you know on the battlefirel, suppressive fire is another term for just wasting bullets, and everyone does it, nobody counts bullets in a life or death situation especially with a small pistol.
PoliticsRe: General Kills Kidnapper by kabukabu(m): 7:16pm On Aug 04, 2010
buzugee:
actually all of that is unnecessary. no need to waste all your bullets on one person when there are other threats. you have to know where to shoot that will destabilize and fell the person instantly. always aim for the 4th or 5th or 6th intercostal space and midclavicular line. this is the location of the left ventricle. the left ventricle pumps blood to the whole body. once you smash the left ventricle, the guy is a goner. in lay mans terms and for the unenlightened in anatomy, aim for the LEFT NIIPPLE. the left ventricle is around there. ( i know i spelt niiple wrong but nairaland keeps changing it to something else because it thinks it is a bad word. so i am trying to trick the nairaland system with a different spelling)
Well first thing to note here is there are many variables in any situation like this, the bad guy many be heavier,he may have on multiple layers of clothing,he may be on drugs, what caliber bullets you have, how powerful your firearm is,what angle he is approaching from even in the military you trian to hit mass first, with as much force as is required.

He was in a do or die situation na dhe had to react with force so pumping six pullets into a dangerous threat is justified.

Acidosis:
6 bullets for 1 criminal?? Thank God He (major) survived
6 bullets for one person is not an over kill, obviously many of you don't have small arms self defense training, you shoot till there is no more threat, the body has to be motionless completely, remember the robber also had a gun. grin grin.

It doesn't make sense to shoot someone to keep them alive shocked shocked, more court wahala.dead men don't tell stories.

I will keep saying this, all Nigerians over 25 should be allowed to buy guns, heck make it expensive, but make it possible. So if cultists decide to rampage on campus, other students can defend themselves, same goes for homeowners, traders travelling with large sums of money, heck even young women who get attacked by rapists can have a choice, be a victim or stop a violent attacker.

OGive me freedom and liberty to defend myself or give me death.

I have been on the receiving end of a gun in Naija, but never again.I choose when I go not some bloody murderer.

The best place to retire comfortably is Latin America, your dollar/euro goes far,you can hire maids, butlers very cheap, houses are cheap too, most are close to the ocean or beautiful countryside and their taxes are lower than europe and the US.You can live without fear in some like peru, chile, ecuador, uruguay, very nice.Stay away from Mexico, honduras and colombia.
Even Americans are retiring in these places living like kings on very small income.whats the use building a fortress in naija, when you cannot go outside? cheesy cheesy.
Buy a luxury car only to dodge potholes.I want to retire living like James bond but without the gunfights and car chases.Just beautiful women under palm trees grin

alright Noob,
Here is your comment>Tables, chairs, popcron and coke cans should be thrown at Siverbird for advertising the movie? :DReally.

My reply>Looks like someone needs a time machine to travel back to the middle ages, you would fit right in.

Translate to "English":
Not only would it be stupid to do that,it would be downright primitive.Siverbird is a privately owned "business enterprise",if you DON'T like what they "serve" you take your money and go somewhere else, NOT pelt them with your trash. There is free enterprise in Nigeria, and I'm pretty sure that there is nothing unlawful with them showing that movie. This is not Saudi Arabia.

If homosexuality is an offence is Nigeria it is only right for the the movie board to ban, suspend or do whatever to it.

It appears they are in line with the Nigerian Law.

Tables, chairs, pop corn and coke cans should be thrown at Silverbird for advertising the movie
Looks like someone needs a time machine to travel back to the middle ages, you would fit right in with the crowd grin.

truly:
Nigeria has lost its character!
WHENEVER our indigenous practices conflict with foreign ideas, we jettison our indigenous way of life
This is always the case and people start talking about civilisation

what is civilised about immorality, spiritually unhealthy and filthy tendencies
Are we saying our conservative way of life is wrong

We have enough problems without engaging in acts that would bring spiritual problems - perhaps eartquake, tsunami etc
We need to think and rise up against those ANIMALS

Why don't you blow yourself up already, neanderthal. cheesy cheesy cheesy "engaging in acts that would bring earthquakes/tsumnihuh??My God, why do primitives like you even have access to the internet, you should be in a hut, praying to the moon and stars, stoning adulterers and depriving women of their right to drive and dress comfortably, buffoon.
