I've been in tech myself for a decade and half now. Before that, I was in business and finance. I heard everyone talking about tech, so I tried to jump ship as well. I took short courses and worked on personal projects, but I found out it wasn't easy to break into the industry. In the end, I had to go back to university full-time to earn a tech degree and gain some real-world experience before I could get my foot in the door.

No one tells you the secret I found out after I got into tech: Most people in tech who don't have a tech degree combined with internships or relevant work experience got in through strong connections and are big mediocre but they have god fathers protecting them through connections.

Thats just tech and companies in nigeria and some third world countries.

Real world experience is what you done that benefitted that company or project. Could be rewriting the api docs for graphene os and making it accesible to normies.

It's more of show working than talk. Most companies hire based on workings ,it's only companies in nigeria that are obssesed with certs and degrees.

That's i prefer companies that are abroad, hiring is based on merit and pay is very good especially if you are living in nigeria.

Angel's Egg (1985)


Synopsis:
In a decaying city, a little girl takes care of a large egg which she believes was laid by an angel and crosses paths with a gun-toting young man searching for a bird he saw in a dream.

This movie was produced by the director of Ghost in The Shell and it's regarded as a timeless masterpiece anime movie.

Thoughts:
First of all, the animation and art style is genuinely impressive especially for a work that old, but it has very little dialogue.
This movie is layered with a lot of religious (christianity) symbolism and deals mostly with the struggles of faith and loss of faith.
It takes place in an alternate world where after the flooding of the world, Noah sends a bird out of the Ark to seek dry land, but in this alternate world, the bird does not return, symbolizing a world forsaken by God.
(Remember its just fiction).

It mostly follows a young girl carrying an egg she believed would hatch into a dove showing her faith despite living in a world of despair.
She comes across a young man carrying a weapon that resembles a cross with bandages on his hands (the cross and the injuries from the nail?)
Unlike the girl whose actions are mostly guided by pure faith, the man is more rational and knows the egg she protects is empty as a forsaken world. And just as he suspected, when he cracked open the egg, it was empty.

To cut the story short, upon her death through her fall and drowning, her faith leads to the birth of many other eggs with these eggs actually containing doves. We also see a stone image of her rising from the ocean with a sun (that probably represents god) among the angels in worship leaving the forsaken world.

The movie is quite complex but packed with a lot of symbolism. There is very little dialogue as well with the first words coming over 20 minutes into the movie.
There is a lot open to interpretation like the scene of men with hooks trying to catch shadows of fishes moving in the city but fail and end up destroying parts of the city.

I do not recommend, unless you are willing to dissect the movie. It is not a movie for casual viewing.

I don't know if Starlink is blocking VPNs cuz when I've used Surfshark and ExpressVPN, they worked at first but failed with time.

And streaming directly results to a lof of buffers

I torrent with tor and it seem much better than back when still using MTN and they were throttling my bandwith like madd.

Never thought a day will come where i will have to rate a Rosamund Pike's film a 0 out of 10.
But i will never allow my love and admiration for this wonderful woman to make me accept a film and a visual concept that is aimed at over turning the order of life both in the physical and spiritual.

Don't get me wrong, i understand the message they are trying to pass across and i frown at misogynistic men, i want women to be respected and rewarded not based on gender but based on the actual works they put it.
There is a way the owners could have told the storyline without going the route of what i call an abomination.
If films like this are applauded and well received, very soon many movies and series will now start doing this.

The difference between the older generation and younger folks is that no one wants to start small. Yesterdays Nigeria's boomer generation were lucky to get a girl who can work with their programme, start in one room and from there they expanded. But this was with a promise that they worked hard to better their situation which in some cases turned out right or even turned out worse. Young women in today's generation wouldn't even give you a chance, i mean for the mere sake of fertility, a lot of them may come to their senses in their 30s and be like yeah lets work something out but men on the other hand don't mind waiting it out until things get better.

In retrospect finances define the intersexual dynamics of being together with your significant other. Older boomers didn't mind getting along with a girl who is decent, unemployed, comes from a supposedly good family and is feminine in nature. In todays economy, if a lady doesn't have job, too demanding or has poor money habit; has a penchant for unbated consumerism then she scores low as compared to someone who has the opposite of the qualities lacking. Over time as a young adult, i have seen couples who started with love become enemies or their marriages experiencing some sort of strain because of financial stress and not having money at the right time sucks
