PoliticsChief Justice Accuses Politicians Of Plot To Scuttle Nigeria’s Democracy by kadas01(op): 7:25pm On Mar 31, 2015
The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mahmud Mohammed, has cried out over what he describes as the desperate plot by politicians to use the Judiciary to scuttle Nigeria’s democracy.

Mr. Mohammed spoke in Abuja on Monday during the swearing-in ceremony of Ishaq Bello as the Acting Chief Judge of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory.

Mr. Bello was sworn in following the retirement of Ibrahim Bukar on attainment of the statutory retirement age of 65 years.

The CJN assured Nigerians of his commitment to ensure the country’s Judiciary does not succumb to politicians’ machinations to truncate Nigeria’s democracy.

He revealed that some “unpatriotic citizens” were bent on using the courts to stop the electoral process, but warned judges not to allow themselves to be used as tools to scuttle the electoral process.

Mr. Mohammed said, “We are aware that some unpatriotic citizens may wish to use the courts to stop the electoral process and I wish to warn in clear terms that we shall not be used as a tool for the breakdown of law and order in our beloved country”.

“Permit me to use this opportunity to again assure all Nigerians that, under my leadership, the Judiciary remains resolute and committed to do its constitutional duty during this election period.
“We will not be swayed or distracted from the course of justice in any election matter that is before or comes before the justice system,” he assured.

Mr. Mohammed added that the primary responsibility of the Judiciary is “preservation of our nation’s democracy.”
“I strongly advise all judicial officers not to allow any party or politician to use the courts to truncate our nation’s democracy”.

He urged the new Chief Judge, Mr. Bello, to work hard to improve on the pace of justice dispensation in the court, particularly concerning “the number of corruption cases that are pending before the FCT High Courts” including those returned from the Supreme Court.
“I therefore urge you to be proactive in seeking out ways to improve justice delivery especially as pertains to case disposal rate in the FCT High Court of Justice.
“Hence, I urge you to work cooperatively with the other heads of court and indeed all judicial officers in order to ensure cohesion and synergy in your resolve to uphold the dignity of the Judiciary,” the CJN said.

Earlier at the valedictory session held for him at the High Court of the FCT, Justice Bukar thanked God that he retired with his head high.
He noted that for the 33-year history of the court, he remained the only CJ of the FCT High Court to retire honourably, and honoured with a valedictory court service, a development also noted by the CJN in his speech.
Justice Bukar thanked his brother judges for their support during his about two-year tenure, having been sworn-in in 2013.
Justice Bello praised his predecessor and pledged to sustain the legacy of performance left by the retiring CJ.

PoliticsDSS Uncovers Plot To Announce Election Results Before INEC by kadas01(op): 7:09am On Mar 27, 2015
The Department of State Service has uncovered plans by some persons to announce election results ahead of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, warning Nigerians and international observers to disregard any such announcement.

The DSS made this known yesterday in a statement signed by the Service spokesman, Marilyn Ogar and made available to LEADERSHIP Friday, in which she warned Nigerians who have no business with the elections to stay away from polling centres.

“Information at the disposal of this Service has revealed that certain mischievous persons or groups have concluded plans to announce election results before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) concludes its collation exercise.

“This statement therefore is to advice all citizens of Nigeria, election observers and the International community to disregard election results which are not announced by INEC, as the commission remains the only authentic body authorized to do so.

“Once more, we reiterate our call on all eligible voters to come out and exercise their franchise as security is guaranteed. We also want to seize this opportunity to remind voters to remain vigilant and to warn all those who have no business with the electoral process to keep away from Polling Units and Collation Centres,” Ogar said.

PoliticsIGP Warns Against Deployment Of Unauthorised Uniformed Security Agencies by kadas01(op): 12:36am On Mar 27, 2015
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Suleiman Abba, has directed that under no account should uniformed private/government security agencies and voluntary organisations, such as Boys Scout, Vigilante Group, Boys Brigade, Peace Ambassador, Man’O War, be seen in uniform within 300 metres of a polling unit.

This is as he restated the restriction of vehicular movement from 8.00 a.m. till 5.00 p.m. during the general election.

While warning politicians and VIPs not to go to polling units on the day of the election with armed orderlies, the IGP said the use of siren, revolving lights, tinted glasses by unauthorised citizens would not be allowed.

He, however, reiterated the force commitment to the provision of round-the-clock security before, during and after the elections for the teeming citizens of the country.

He advised voters to conduct themselves in an orderly manner to ensure free, fair and violence-free elections.

PoliticsWe Will Recapture Gwoza By Friday, Says Jonathan by kadas01(op): 9:03pm On Mar 25, 2015
President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday expressed the confidence that Nigerian troops will recapture Gwoza from members of the Boko Haram Sect latest by Friday.

Once that feat is achieved, he said it would not take the nation more than one week to clean up.

Jonathan spoke while granting audience to a group of international election monitors who paid him a visit at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

“We believe that by Thursday, or latest Friday, we will be able to take over Gwoza. If we take over Gwoza, it will not take us more than one week to clean up. Now Boko Haram members are not in position to come out and disrupt elections,” Jonathan told his guests.

He recalled that when security operatives advised that elections be rescheduled for security reasons, a number of people thought it was just because of the terror attacks in some parts of the North.

He however admitted that that was a major factor too because the Boko Haram sect was in three states: Borno, Yobe and Adamawa at that time.

“They were holding territories, some local governments were completely under their control and invariably there was no government in those places.

“And of course, some states like Gombe and Bauchi were also not free. In fact, it would have been difficult to conduct elections in five states‎ of the federation.

“If we had conducted elections on that February 14, they would have come up to disrupt elections in these five states and that would have made the presidential elections in these five states inconclusive.

“There are 14 Presidential candidates but the PDP and the APC candidates are the two that are well known.

“It would have been difficult because probably the vote difference of any of these candidates, if you aggregate the remaining five states that elections would have been disrupted, it would have been difficult to declare a winner.”

Jonathan added that Gombe State was attacked on the same day the presidential election was earlier scheduled to hold.

He said the aim of the insurgents was to disrupt the elections but they were repelled.

The President assured his guests that elections would be conducted on Saturday across the country and there would be no reason for inclusive results.

2.Thinking that they're queens
No honey; its not a guy's job to serve you like a queen; I mean, if a guy wanted to be served as a king, imagine the feminists that will bash him to infinity.

3.Not saying what you really want
Him: What would you like for dinner?
Her: Anything.
Him: How about indomie?
Her: I'm not in the mood for indomie.

4.Expecting guys to pick up on hints
Seriously. They don't pick them up, they won't pick them up, they CAN'T pick them up. Just say it.

5.Backstabbing and fighting their fellow females

6.Painting their eyebrows like the Nike symbol.

7. Treating sex like a gift they give men.
Need I say more? smiley

8. Not knowing how to take a compliment.
"You look beautiful today" does not mean you don't look good every other day. Just that your beauty was exceptional on the said day.

9. Pouting.

10. Believing that guys can't get hurt.
