Before watching Love & Other Drugs, I would have said she couldn't pull off Catwoman, but after seeing it I think she'd have sexy coy edge.

Can't believe Kadman called "Mad Men" thrash. That is d best TV show ever. It has consistently won Emmy's 4 each season 4 best screen writer.

Mad Men is rubbish, I thought I would love it, it had everything I liked; set in the 60s, cheating spouse and a sassy secetary. But it FAILED, I kept trying to like it because I thought it was produced by HBO. Soon as I found out it wasn't I deleted that b[i]i[/i]tch.

Love and Other Drugs: One of the funniest, sweetest movies I've seen. Very simple and definitely better than your average rom-com.

"Showgirls" is what I call complete rubbish.

Lol, did you watch the mash up. I've not seen Black Swan yet, but I can see similarities. On the YouTube channel some said "Black Swan is Show Girls done properly".

Thats the thing !! I've not seen it yet, I've read every review on it, seen the trailer 100 times, but it doesn't show in UK till Jan 21 (this Friday). We've booked our tickets down for weeks lol.

When I don't really like the actors in a movie,but still can't wait to see it. . .that's when I know I would love a film. (I love Winona Ryder - but she's in in like 5 mins right ?).

If you liked Black Swan and like me you watched Show Girls years ago. This would blow your mind.

All HBO do is churn out one iconic show after the other, those people can NEVER do wrong, right from the days of Sex & The City to Oz to The Wire.
For years I thought it was HBO that showed Mad Men(I don't know why), till I started watching the crap. I immediately knew it couldn't be HBO, what would you know . .it was AMC.

And yes Social Network. . . .  so overrated ! Jeez.

I don't really agree that Britain have better actors, the few that could cross into Hollywood have to have been really good, which makes it seems like they have a lot of talent when it's only a handful of really good ones. Same goes to actors from all countries who have made it in Hollywood ala Marion Cottilard and co.

I agree ! If we look at it from the pity angle it might go to Anne Bening, considering they have smashed her hopes THREE times, twice with the same person (Hilary Swank), but I don't think this was her best performance IMO.
Which leaves Kidman, they have given her one and several noms already, so not looking good. But I still think this is her best performance along with Dogville. Her winning this year is really important to me as the only Oscar she won I did not watch that live.

I'm glad for all the winners, most especially Annette Bening, but she should forget the Oscars as Motion pictures for Drama and Musical are not separated.

I'm so sad Nicole Kidman didn't win. I'm her biggest fan and saw Rabbit Hole,its her most raw layered performance ever. But aparently this is the year of the Swan. I really hope there is an upset in the Oscar dynamics i.e like last year Mickey Rourke won all awards for best actor, but the Oscars was given to Sean Penn. Maybe some scandal about Natalie Portman could come out ? Like her boyfriend is a con man ?. . Ooh sorry that happened to Anne Hathaway already

But he hasn't been tried by a court of his peers and found guilty yet nah ? Isn't there some innocent until proven guilty clause again

I didn't bother to watch most of the movies on your list, but Percy Jackson was particularly painful because a morden twist of that classic story could have been sooooo good.
