Must every song teach something? Whatever happened to a song or movie being just for entertainment purposes?

It is in this same bid to always convey a moral lesson that most of our home movies today end up being worthless tragedies. . . every producer wants his movie to 'teach something'

We should be emphasizing on proper censorship and not Banning! Banning! Banning! cos if a child is not already morally depraved, he/she wouldn't know the meaning of 'Put something'

This our hypocritical nature is the reason why Nigeria is where it is today.

Nigerian movies do not make sense solely based on that logic, the good name ALWAYS win, the criminal is ALWAYS caught, the cheating woman/man ALWAYS suffers, the born again ALWAYS overcomes. Is that the way the world works ? Just on this argument alone Nigerian movies are not REALISTIC.

I work with a Filipina and an Indian. The filipina is an older woman who looks like Michael Jackson after his transformation. She is as skinny as a toothpick and yet, she constantly thinks she's fat and always asking me if her butt is getting bigger. I'm like WTF?? which butt? she just has bones there and nothing. Her other annoying trait is her attitude of knowing EVERYTHING.  
The Indian is another case. She's nasty, dirty to an unimaginable degree.   she sneezes loudly with her mouth open and right on her computer screen, keyboard and mouse and then she calls me to help solve a problem on her computer. Of course i find an excuse not to help her because only God knows what kind of germs are breeding on her machines.   The other thing is she is a messy eater. she eats messy foods with her hands and then touches her mouse with those hands. one time i was trying to help her solve a problem on her puter, and when i touched her mouse, i had to jerk my hand away . the mouse was crusted and caked with all kinds food.
The last thing she does that irks me is her constant brown nosing   and sucking up to the boss so she'll come out looking like the most hard working person in my department. Why r Indians like that? why do they always feel like they have to compete and brown nose? *hissing furiously*  

Don't mind those stupid Indians (excuse my racism lol). I had one as a close friend, they brown nose and compete for ANYTHING, friendship e.t.c, they'll abuse white guys behind their backs then suck up and lick their balls when they are with them, long hiss

Okay i saw The Tourist today (blame peer pressure. . and peer paying for ticket). The movie is an average, I would expect a lot more from a Jolie / Deep combination.

I didn't like Johnny Deep, but I have to say he was the far better of both, he was funny but not over the top like his charters in Pirates or Charlie and Wonky Factory. Angelina Jolie on the other hand is playing the same character she has in a dozen other films. The worse part is she released a film a few months ago (SALT), and now she's playing the same character of confused double agent / spy in love. In this film she tries to switch it up and act helpless in some parts, but the woman can't help herself. Another part that I found annoying was when Jolie went into a party and everyone parts the way and stares at her, seriously woman aren't you a bit long in the tooth for that ?

I found it very predictable once the protagonist wasn't introduced in the middle of the movie. I knew it was Depp. Lastly, what the hell is going on with Jolie's lips

Nicole Kidman is up for best actress !!! The woman is back ! Her movie hasn't even been released yet.

I'm torn between Annette Benning and Juliane Moore, both fine actresses and both very deserving. At least Hilary Swank is not there to steal it from Benning. But only one of them can be nominated at the Oscars as it's the same movie. Won't matter anyway as the Kidman would be up for that category too.

Can't wait to watch Black Swan. Dec 22.

In more ways than one, I'm so glad this movie failed, and it's purely on the producers' poor decision to give top billing to Jolie and not Depp, despite the fact that much of the plot revolved around the latter. And to be quite honest with you, even though I'm a huge fan of Mr. Scissorhands (Depp), I'm certainly not in the mood to blow my money watching a totally useless Angelina playing her usual one-dimensional alter-ego (the same rubbish alter ego we've seen her play in Mr & Mrs Smith, and Tomb Raider, and The Hackers, AND Wanted). Abegii!
Good thing say this movie don finally bomb-scatter, make we hear word jor!

Hmmm, Let's see -- the director, actors, screenwriters, producers, executive producers, art directors, and even the mainstream audience, because 98 percent of the time, a movie's commercial performance is used as a barometer in determining whether or not it's worth seeing. I know we won't see eye to eye on the great Kidman, but can't help throwing you some shade. . I think the Golden Globe sees things from my point of view as awards were announced today, and Nicole Kidman is up for Best Actress. There is also a lot of Oscar buzz for her too ! Kidman is clearing her mantel as we speak for her second Oscar and third Golden Globe.

Tilda is awesome. I normally would not like someone like Tilda, as my kind of actresses either have that cold factor (Kidman) or one-liner funny (Cattrall). But the point I feel in love with Tilda was in the Micheal Clayton movie. There's a part where she's under pressure and she's in her underwear (so not attractive) in her hotel room rehearing her board room lines. That was acting ! I had never been more sure of anyone getting an Oscar for just that scene.

And do i detect a barb at Ms Kidman ? You do know my username is Kidman and I just changed the I to an[b] A[/b]

notwithstanding, the movies are quite interesting. Havent seen the latest one yet however.

SAME HERE !! I like them because of the books.
But to be honest. . . Most of the time I'm waiting for an apperance from Tilda Swinton (The Witch) who I adore.

Nooooo. I do not agree with your review. I am guessing that you are used to seeing both Angelina and Johnny in action packed movies.

The movies is quite enjoyable. Especially if you like the silly/cocky side of Johnny Depp.

Yeah I've watched it, and I do know what Ogboju Ode lol, being half Yoruba. Dr Parnassus was a really awesome movie. I don't know why it wasn't more popular especially with so many stars.

And I agree POTC is a weak franchise, and all the special effects and Johnny Deep's antics just don't make up for it.

Seems you would like The Chronicles of Narnia franchise ?

i dont think i've watched any angelina movie yet- the tabloids alone have kept me occupied when it comes to her.

EXACTLY !!! The media hype is so much, I can never separate Angelina Jolie and the characters she portrays.

As for Deep, you're right again. The problem is I hate the Pirate of The Caribbean character he plays, and he's starting to become like that in real life,
