Its the copy cat syndrome, na wetin dem dey chop for abroad be this , but i disagree with those saying its only the poor who  consume junk food , ALOT of the butters out there r overweight and  unhealthy  even worse than the pakos
The butters who consume do it out of their love for it, and are probably overweight anyway.
What we mean by poverty syndrome, is a nice in shape girl, who because she nabs a rich guy starts to over consumes junk and gains weight. I've seen it happen so many times.

What you don't plan to eat, don't bring it near your nose or smell it - Yoruba adage.

Your friend is a fool and wicked person. The woman has no fault in this, how was she to know that the guy didn't like her ? When he didn't categorically tell her. She did her part and expected more.

And what's up with everyone having unsafe sex these days ? With all the billions spent on safe sex / condom campaigns  undecided
FoodRe: Nigerian Girls And Their Crave For Junk Meals by kadman(m): 10:45am On Jun 20, 2011
I blame that attitude on proverty. Educated people and people in Western countries are running away as fast as they can from junk food. . most Nigerian girls are running in the opposite direction. It's a sad day when guys these days take better care of their bodies than girls.

Girls, I understand you must chop his money. . But ask for recharge cards, phones e.t.c grin. Because you're actually killing yourself by making him take you to fast food zones.

ragdollz:
Mind your mouth @kadman and stop talking out your arse! Gene is a passable actress, nothing more - certainly not Hollywood-standard. And it's not about her skin tone or race; you mentioned Grace Jones, a musical icon all over the world! What's the relation with what we're saying here??

Meanwhile, I hear Naomie Harris is rumored to be the next Bond girl (she was in Pirates of the Carribean or so). Now THAT's a credible applicant, not someone without any Hollywood experience to jump straight into such a part.
Is musical icon the same thing as actress ? Had Grace ever been to Hollywood or had a acting when she acted that role ? So why can't Genevieve who has more acting credit to her belt do the same ? And that was 1985 when Grace had 2 records to her name. Please know the meaning of the word "Icon" before you used it.
Other people mentioned her skin color and implied her nationality in relation to the franchise, if you're blind to read the whole thread, then that's your problem. . . and not mine. undecided
TV/MoviesRe: Genevieve Nnaji To Star As James Bond Girl! by kadman(m): 10:44pm On Jun 07, 2011
Beef would not allow you people see front.

The role she is being considered for might not actually be Bond girl, it could be an African spy or some exotic scientist from Africa, The possibilities are endless. Think outside the box FOOLS !
In A View To Kill (1985). Grace Jones who is blacker than Genevieve could ever be, and not half the actress was also in James Bond. And I don't think that rendered that franchise unwatchable. Grace Jones had a heavy Jamaican accent, so please don't bring accents into this debate.

Gene is a good actress, and if you're good at what you do the sky should be your limit.

It is possible to find cars in your price range. However, unless you're mechanically-minded, and able to do your own repairs, I would advice against a 100,000 Naira car. Such a car can spell financial ruin.

Is this going to be your first car?
Lol, I always find that phrase funny, I don't know why. . . it's in poor taste, but can't help it grin
TV/MoviesRe: Genevieve Nnaji To Star As James Bond Girl! by kadman(m): 11:17am On May 28, 2011
God please let this happen, or at least let her be in the running for it. I have said it time after time, Genevieve is the only actress we have who can represent Nigeria or who has the acting chops for the foreign market.

At work, all my colleagues constantly make fun of Nigerian movies, then one day one of them came saying she watched a Nigerian movie, she said the quality wasn't good, but the actress was brilliant and said she wanted to know the name of the actress. I immediately knew it was Gene, I googled her picture, and my colleague said yes that is her.

I love this woman.

I somehow thought you were joking, but after seeing your response I can see your sincerity.

I lost my dad was I was young,15. But because he was very very old I always knew I would lose him young. I am lucky he was very reponsible and had been able to make provision for us. I have never felt the need for another one. I think at 28 you really should be looking for starting your own family and having a son so as to fill that void. Best of luck

I can't read the whole thread, but God bless the OP. I was saying the same thing to my friends. Lets vacate the North totally, and then in turn FREEZE them out. Lets not rent out houses to them in SE and SW. Lets not enter their bikes, give their beggars money e.t.c ! There's no hope in sight, and no matter how many military memebers, at the onsought of a riot innocent Igbos and Yorubas will be killed. So lets just all leave that cursed part of the country holding us down.]
I don’t mean to interrupt this fascinating conversation, I just want to correct the misconception that’s being brandished around here that the father can just go an “collect” his child just because he is the father.

First of all, except he plans on forging papers or smuggling him in his suitcase, there is no way he can get the child out of the country. He can’t get the child’s passport because the passport office requires BOTH parents to be there or an affidavit from the mother giving her consent.

Secondly for those shouting get international lawyer, that’s all good and nice but remember to tell him how difficult it’s going to be. Having a lawyer does not mean he’ll win because the courts use a “the best interest of the child” criteria to decide custody (men who live in the country, have money and good lawyers have been felled by this criteria, not to talk of a man who will need a map to find the nearest toilet in the US) and in this case, one need not study law to see where the best interest of the child lies. . .
He was born in America,
He’s lived in America all his life,
He’s never spent one day with his father,
He’s known no other parent but his mother
There's no abuse
He's being well cared for. . . and so on and so forth.

I tell ya except the mother is a crack head wacked out on drugs every minute of the day, the father’s chances of getting custody of the child is very slim.

Thirdly assuming the mother will be found morally unfit on the ground of “manner in which she dumped her husband” is completely ludicrous. The courts are not that petty.  . . again, they take real important factors that would SERVE THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CHILD into consideration.

The best bet is for OP to find an amicable solution to the custody matter because that’s about the only thing he has a say in.

The fact that some people think she wrong for wanting to divorce her husband after he sent her to school does not mean she has no legal standing.  Yeah, it’s a sad situation for the OP, no doubt about that but hey. . . life is not a fairy tale (or a nollywood movie) where everyone lives happily ever after, where good things always happen to good people and bad people always get the comeuppance.

@ OP
Do yourself a favor. . . forget all this lawyer or no lawyer talk and try to work something out with your ex. Get your families involved and you both come up with a solid custody arrangement.
Thank you for this post,
Luckily for the woman she has crossed into a country that at least abides by some laws.
People on here seem to forget that it's not like their country where religion and a false sense of morality overrides common sense and the laws of the lands. As Sisi Kill said unless the mother is a strung out drug addict NO ONE is taking her child from her, . even if she was, no court will give the father 100% custody and allow him to move the child to another country.
OP, this poster gave you best advice, starting saving up money for another wife and to send her for MBA . . .maybe UK this time ?
dont nigerian men also abandon their families in nigeria after travelling abroad, without generating this level of hostility from nlers.

poster, do whatever you have to do but most of all pray more.

if you have the means, visit her in the US and spend some time with her.

sending a pregnant woman alone to the US isnt easy, especially for the woman. They go through a lot and may fall into the wrong hands [ie wrong company], which only complicates matters.
Exactly my point. Nigerian men have been dumping their families within and outside the country since the dawn of time. Yet we don't hear all this burahha and gra gra. Smells of DOUBLE STANDARDS. You would expect some women realise this and put their thinking caps on, . . But I guess they don't know how to.

You reminded us how shallow you are.  I was hoping for a fact based debate between you and Shy-One, but yours has fallen flat as it is devoid of any common sense and bereft of real practical and tactical ideas. Instead, you ventured into your comfy zone of male bashing. You sound like a person who needs a husband to pay her bills and use his last name. I'm sorry for that "husband" of yours if he's not a fantasy.
Please ! I read the thread from top to bottom. Shy-One was the first who started getting personal, Outstrip responded in kind and Shy-one couldn't handle.

And of course any woman who doesn't submit to male whimps or stands her ground couldn't possibly have a husband or have a fantasy one ? Silly talk.
I love INTELLIGENT MEN - you are really, really intelligent and you KNOW OF WHAT YOU SPEAK.
Of course he'll seem intelligent to you. . . because he shares your point of view.

The poster got dumped, it's simple and it happens everyday. Men dump women every time and there never is all this burhaha. He CANNOT collect any child just because he got dumped. They will go to court and custody would be decided according. All of you posters telling him to go and TAKE his child would get him into trouble. I hope he comes back here to curse you lot.
And yes, you all sound like people who would kidnap a child from it's mother if you had your ways,  . . Barbaric set of coons.

Superbrain:
Advice: She is gone and now that she is done with her masters, there is little or nothing you can do. Lure her to Nigeria, or find a way to get your backside over to the US and make sure you get your child! After that, she can go. If you let the child go, he/she will grow up calling another man daddy. Have you contacted her people?
Another stupid advice (shakes my head).
Is he the OWNER of the child ? Thank God it's the US and they would give priority to the mother anyway.
Barbaric advice and way of thinking like this is what makes African women move to Western countries and flee and never want to go back home like Mrs Chima pointed out.

HealthRe: Waiting For Hiv Result? Please Share Your Experience by kadman(m): 10:26am On Feb 26, 2011
onigbagbo:
I hurriedly created this new ID to avoid stigmatization. I was not nervous at my first HIV test in 2006. My wife was pregnant with our second baby in 2007 and the doctor made it mandatory for her to have HIV test in my presence. Since I was negative in my own HIV test a year earlier, I felt there would e no problem and as the pregnancy was our 3rd. Alas, she turned +ve and I was mad at the result. I told the doctor that his test was faulty and I asked my wifeto let us go to the near-by teaching hospital for a thorough check, she said no and she accused my of infecting her with HIV because she was always suspecting me.

I went to the teaching hospital and I did another test which was not a rapid test, this time it was intra-venous , thank God I was -ve again. I must confess to you that I did all possible to have her repeat same test, she managed but unfortunately again, she was +ve. I now wonder how she could be because I trust her. Thank God our children are -ve even though she did not bosom feed the second baby. I forgot to mention that we lost the second pregnancy. We have the 1st pregnancy to be a girl who is 9 yrs now and the 3rd pregnancy a boy who is 4 years old now. We are all living happily as I did not tell anyone apart from my Pastor with her consent.
Whoever you are, you're a good man. Best of luck to your family.

My favourite was Anastasia hands down, at first I liked it most because it was the one least repeated by TV stations, but when I grew up I liked it because it's the only one that's kinda true life story.

Good to see someone pointing out Sade is a band not a musician. I've been arguing that will dumbs forever.

I remember one time I think I was 19, my mum came to spend a weekend at my flat, she burst into tears saying how matured and self sufficient I was.
