I announced the result 6 months ago grin
I remember someone announced a fantastic result sometime on SMN but it turned out to be a hoax.

It seems something good is brewing in that pot.

Can you be so kind to reannounce the results? grin

I missed out on it six months ago.

I expect Access to keep what money they have and give bonus.
They have the least shares outstanding among the top 5 banks.
That would be a reasonable proposition from access, if they decide to go that route.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Kagame: 6:41am On Mar 09, 2015
@Oga Moneysage, your jigsaw puzzle is a bit dizzying, but I will make an effort to deconstruct it nevertheless.

I think you might have referred to Skye. grin

And yes, I have to admit that much ,anything can happen with Nigerian companies with respect to dividend payout. Recent case in point, Oando paid dividends few weeks to the supposed commencement of its rights issue. I think Diamond did same.

Na siddon look we dey.

@Sir Kagame - Thank you very much for the analysis. I think UBA will do better than other banks yet to release their result in terms of Dividend payment
Oga mi,you might be very correct.

Nigerian banks are full of surprises.

My argument was premised on the fact that UBA has been largely unsuccessful at raising money ,so they might want to retain more of their profits instead.

Lets see ,its only some few weeks away.

My only generous when it come to dividend are these two banks;gtb and zenith.
GTB and Zenith are the two Nigerian banks with a huge capacity for growth in the short term and maybe long term. They are adequately capitalized (Tier 1) and very efficient. Their good tier 1 capital standing gives them enough head room for loan book expansion without falling below the minimum CAR required for SIBs.

FBNH is groaning under its own weight ; Inadequate shareholders fund in relation to its huge deposit liabilities and risk assets. I wont be surprised if they slow down loan growth in 2015 while retaining a good measure of profits in 2015 to give them enough headroom for future growth. They can also look inwards by improving their efficiency as their topline for 2014 was quite impressive.

At the moment, GTB ,Zenith are the clear market leaders.

makashava:
it is obvious they are referring to FBNH! Time will tell very soon!
FBNH? Quite doubtful.

FBNH cannot have a dividend yield of 20% since their 9months profit have been capitalized as retained earning for the purpose of Basel 2 compliance.

I will be very surprised to see over10% dividend yield from FBNH at current price (assuming dividend will only be paid from Q4 earnings). For that to happen, they would need to declare a fantastic Q4 result, of which the major driver would have to come from non-interest income ,especially forex trading as GTB benefited hugely from forex volatility in Q4 ,as can be seen from their recently released results. I dont expect any surprises from FBNHs Q4 interest income, given the current macroeconomic conditions.

FBNH's full year EPS guidance is about N2.34 of which 3/4 of this amount is already capitalized.

Taking a general look at the sector with a view to identifying the mystery bank .

Access - Might not pay a fantastic dividend as they are in the market to raise money and have not been largely successful in that regard.

UBA - Same situation with Access .

Diamond - Likely to have a payout ratio of 30%. Added to the newly listed right shares, expect a drop in EPS .Not known to be generous with dividend so dont expect a miracle here. Likely dividend within the 0.3 to 0.4 range.

Skye - Acquired mainstreet through an off balance sheet transaction. Capital appreciation is much likely ,but handsome dividends? I don't think so. They need cash to integrate their new acquisition.

Stanbic IBTC - Strong brand ,good results but cant give a 10% yield at current price, going by their dividend history.

Ecobank - Not a bank to spring surprises. Low expectations.

Fidelity - Not known for fantastic dividends. Dont expect a surprise this time around.

Sterling - Had a fairly good year. Any surprises ? I dont think so.

Unity bank - No comment. Any objections?

Union bank - No surprises.

FCMB - I deliberately left it for the last. This might be the mystery bank. Feelers from last year showed they had an intention of raising tier 2 capital. With the current situation of the capital markets and the CBN regulation on foreign borrowing, they might choose to retain their earnings to boost tier 1 capital in compliance with the basel 2 accord. Also note that there is a subsisting circular limiting dividend payout by banks who are yet to meet the minimum CAR under basel 2. Knowing all this ,will I place a bet on a fantastic dividend from FCMB ? I dont think so.

Where is the mystery bank brothers?

PoliticsRe: Does Ndigbo Have A Future With The Reasoning Of Igbo Youths Of Today?part 1 by Kagame:
Correction.

My beloved brother,I think its better to worry about your own future than to be so concerned about people who do not care whether you exist or not.

The Nigerian govt screws us equally irespective of tribe ,gender or religion.

The north ruled for over 30 yrs but today they are still asking for affirmative action.

Obasanjo ruled for 8 yrs as a civilian president but your life isnt better off than it was before he came to power.Tunde, what did Obasanjo do for you or someone you know?

So Tunde, leave the igbos and their blind love for Jonathan. They love him for a reason , not because he has done so much for them, but more than every other president,he has shown positive neutrality in their affairs.

Unlike Obasanjo, who was either sponsoring renegades to burn down Anambra state, or previous military regimes who balkanized a lot of their land due to the politics of oil and population.

If I were you,I'd be asking myself, apart from a few south west politicians who will be empowered if Buhari wins, what do I or my family stand to gain from a Buhari govt?

Your answer is as good as mine, they screw us equally, so leave the igbos to play their AGIP politics.Cos either way,we all will still be screwed.

Gas fired Power plants are modular by design and capacity can be increased by adding new units of turbines.

GEJ could not have commisioned an already existing project. He commisioned phase 2 of the project , while Obj commisioned phase 1.

Guys trade with caution, not yet uhuru as there are still obvious risks.

Yes,oil prices are up but so is the dollar index and both are negatively correlated. At the moment ,the dollar index is showing some bullish signs while brent crude has shed over 2%. Apparently , the oil bull looks over and we might be back to sub $60 prices.

Locally,we are still consulting ifa to know if the elections will hold or not - uncertainty everywhere.

Are we going to see $70 soon?
PoliticsRe: South-south Will Massively Support A Buhari Presidency - Opinion by Kagame:
@ OP

People are not so enthusiastic about Buhari in the SS.

A lot of people might not be so impressed with GEJ,but GMB is no option for them.

In rivers state ,die hard APC supporters chant Dakuku for Governorship and GEJ for presidency.

You even hardly see much of Buhari's posters in town.

Unlike PDP supporters that attach GEJ's pics to their campaign posters,APC supporters do not attach Buhari's pics for fear of a possible backlash that could result in a loss of votes/support.

One lesson in Nigerian politics - all politics are local!

If Dangcement gets to 100 naira which can happen, then the gods of you village wants to make you rich!

See Foreign Investors dislike us now... WE seem to be scuttling Democracy and the rest of the story that we know.......

So institutional investors that normally are the big players in dangcement are out. Dangcement is gonna go down as expected. That’s not rocket science...

But once election holds and The Economist, Financial Times, CNN, JP MORGAN, are all happy with Nigeria again, the scramble for dangcement by institutional investors who have deeeeep pockets will drive prices up.

Thanks
Oga mi.

The volumes traded today on dangcem suggests nothing in that direction.

When institutional investors exit, the volumes tell the story.

Its just retail investors doing their thang!

My worry with this is uniformity and standardization.

While this will work in the southern part of the country, will it be embraced in the northern hemisphere?.
