sellydion: Highlights of the MPC meeting:
§ The Monetary Policy Committee left the MPR unchanged at 13% with a corridor of +/-200bps.
§ Liquidity ratio was also maintained at 30%.
§ CRR on Public and Private sector was harmonised to 31% (CRR on Private sector was 20% while Public sector was 75%)
source: investment one The outcome of the MPC meeting does not look like it would alter the current dynamics of the markets. If I am not mistaken, FG has begun the implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) ,which means all monies belonging and accruable to the FG,parastatals and MDAs are currently domiciled with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Hence, a reduction on CRR on public sector deposits is simply an official adjustment to existing realities. I would rather be a bit worried because the MPC seems to have increased the CRR on private sector deposits, while still retaining the liquidity ratio at 30%. The net effect would likely be poor liquidity and an increase in the cost of funds for banks and financial institutions. |

Your own statement of account is just to show that he has back up. Let him go with your watever statement of account u have. Goodluck Thanks a lot. |

zeezahbee: Simce your brother got funding,u don't need to disturb yourself. At least if your account funded with 1million, he can use that. He should not go with your friend account because u are never related and questions might arise and lead to something else Thank you very much. My account has more than a million, but in a fixed deposit account. When you do a fixed deposit account investment , a new/temporary account, different from your functional account is created and cash is transferred from your functional account to this temporary fixed deposit account. When you liquidate the fixed deposit , the cash will be moved from the temporary account to the functional account. On this premise, if I liquidate the fixed deposit , it would look as if I deposited a huge sum of money into my functional account for the purpose of the visa interview and I dont know if that is admissible as a genuine supporting document. What do you think? |

Hello Guys,
I need your advice/input.
My sibling was offered admission in the US. I was meant to be his sponsor , but fortunately he secured full funding which covered his tuition, living expenses ,etc.
We are currently waiting for his I20,but am getting the supporting documents ready in preparation for his Visa interview.
Initially,I had intended to use my bank statement as supporting evidence . A substantial amount of the cash in this account was placed in a fixed deposit account, which I intend to liquidate this week. However, I read a comment on a thread by Vicjustice where he advised someone not to use such account ,as it would seem that a lump sum was deposited prior to the Visa interview.
As a consequence, a very good friend of mine offered to help with his account statement /details.
Would it sound convincing to use a family friends statement of account ? How can it be presented to the VO ? Is it possible to use my own account? . Does an account statement matter so much ,knowing that he has secured full funding? |
Politics › Re: Why Bola Tinubu & Muhammadu Buhari Marriage Is Falling Apart by Kagame: 6:51am On May 11, 2015 |
Shamsudeen Usman is a respected former finance minister so his words should be taken with some level of seriousness.
Truly,it seems there is some internal wrangling which is normal during power sharing.
At the federal level ,an unelected person should not be seen as having too much influence on the president ,else the president will be labelled a puppet and would always be seen from that light.
I also respect Tinubu for his public conduct since the election ended ,he has been less intrusive (at least from the public eye) even though he might have been working hard behind the scenes to maintain his influence within the party , but it looks like there are some party members who are not happy with him and would be glad to see his back or have his influence whittled ,at least.
Whatever be the case, they should come up with a good team to serve Nigerians who voted for change. |

Obiano should know that the task at hand is ernomous, he does not need to be distracted.
As long as the people he appointed are competent enough to do the job ,whether they are from anambra north or south ,no one cares.
In a homogenous society where there is mutual trust between constituents ,who gets what politically should not really matter.
Obiano should just get the job done! |

handsometokunbo: Gibberish at its peak!!!!!!
Say this prior to Aguiyi Ironsi(Igbo) administration and I ll buy this submission. I ll presume that the writer of this self-serving rubbish wasn't born then.
However, I ll quickly take this gibberish writer down the memory lane, the first time ever that an Igbo man(Aguiyi Ironsi) became a president of this great country, the administration was all out with tribalism, bigotry and nepotism. Igbos filled up everywhere in a space of few months. No President-prime minister prior to Aguiyi Ironsi govt was able to pull that without marginalisation rhetoric
Fast forward to 2011 till date, Igbo led federal government was the most tribalistic govt of all time. Pls, take a look at Jonathan administration an Igbo led govt and tell me any Nigeria president that has ever been so tribalistic like this except Aguiyi Ironsi govt.
Having witnessed both sides in my lifetime, Hausas/Fulanis led govt is far better than Igbo led govt. If you complained about Hausas/Fulanis govt, I ll advise you to experience Igbo in power and see the big difference.
The Yoruba administration led by Obasanjo was the most neutral govt ever and that is why I hate a lot about Yorubas. Yorubas leaders with their wives were killed by Ibos military officers; Northerners responded by killing thousand of Ibos in reprisal attack but guess what, the Yorubas opened their useless hands are welcome the same Ibos in their land. Pls who does this?
Yoruba occupied Aso Rock and he filled up his administration with Igbos - from Andy Uba running the who presidency cabinet kitchen, Soludo as CBN Governor, Ngozi Iwealla as Finance minister, Dora Akuyili as Minister and head of parastatal, Nnamani, Wabara, Okadigbo as Senate presidents, Ezekwesili as Minister. The funny and wonderful thing about this Yoruba move was that the only people condemning the same old man today are Igbos simply cos he is a Yoruba man, nothing else.
In 2015 till Kingdom comes, Igbos could come up with their marginalisation rhetoric again and again but nobody is buying it anymore. You are worse than Hausa/Fulani You guys amaze me ! The article was about Buhari's administration ,but you began your arguement with Aguiyi Ironsi , midway you added Jonathan , who is obviously not Igbo and finally you ended with Obasanjo ,all in a bid to drive home a senseless point woven around your resentment for Igbos , your fellow Nigerian compatriots. How are you guys able to achieve that ? |

FreeGlobe: I dont think anything can be done about the sharp considering it's a hilly path but the contractors should be made to place adequate road signs and road markings around that area. Ok. It seems linearity might add some extra cost to the project , considering the hilly terrain. Well, another point is the quality of the road. Seems its a completely asphalted road.Or is that the base layer before the concrete layer? Good job with the drainages though. |

asha80: it depends on the terrain and land issues in se..ply owerri okigwe federal highway and see Ive driven through owerri -okigwe - very narrow and not a dual carriage way. But thats an old highway and an exception. This is a new highway and there are vast acres of surrounding land that can be acquired with adequate compensation. Obiano is trying , but he can do better. |
Politics › Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by Kagame: 11:15am On Apr 26, 2015 |
Not too comfortable with the sharp bends on the aguleri otu road - thats a recipe for road accidents cos the road looks a bit narrow.
Ive noticed that most federal highways are mapped out in a linear manner , why cant we do same in anambra? |

jayfolarin: APC never sidelined the SE, it's the igbos that have shown unwarranted hate towards the party. When APC was being formed, APGA was invited but they pulled out at the last minute, everything was done during the campaign to appease the igbos but they wouldn't have it. They even voted massively out of hate against Ngige despite the promise of the senate presidency. What more could have been done?
Igbos have an history of being unreasonably hateful and ungrateful, I don't see the hatred going away even if buhari transforms the SE into a paradise. IMHO, buhari and the APC do not need to appeal to the igbos in anyway, they should be the least prioritised if there's anything!
The one group that needs that appeasal is the south south. This is because they contribute immensely to the economy and do not practice the politics of bitterness like the igbos. It was understandable that they voted for their son in the just concluded election and even at that, they gave GMB more votes than the SE. Talk about crying more than the bereaved.
With the nigerdelta votes in the bag, the igbo votes becomes completely irrelevant as the worst that can happen is what we witnessed during the election.
Like every other region in nigeria, the SE will feel the wind of change but they should forget any special treatment or prioritised developmental projects. "Every region will be positively affected" that's the best you can get. Point of correction before you continue your drivel borne out of misinformation and little knowledge of local politics. Ngige lost because he did nothing at the senate in four years but only came back during the election to share transformers. On the contrary the lady that defeated him went from house to house canvassing for votes while Ngige was nowhere to be found. I had to correct this so you dont continue with the half truths that he lost because of his party. |

I saw Obis handover notes and I believe he left the said amount ,until contrary information emerges.
I'd rather Obiano and his team stop these childish tantrums. I'd offer the same advice to those whose stock in trade is to attack Obi's personality online.
Take it or leave it, Obi is the best governor anambra has ever produced. Obiano has four years to prove himself but its still early in the day. Until then. |

Mtchew She doesnt realise that all nigerians are screwed and will remain so, except for a new set of Billionaires that would likely emerge from the incoming Buhari's govt. Her main topic was spot on and well articulated but her responses have been emotional at best - no logic. I for one do not care much about what happens at the center. If Buhari fixes the economy, all Nigerians will benefit ,irrespective of tribe. I'd rather be concerned if my state governor is not doing well , than if a single man from SS/SE are not offered political positions at the center. |
