This is just hilarious. Minister of Power, Works and Housing Mr Raji Fashola was today, 27th September, at Eko Hotel to deliver a speech on the government's agenda for power in Nigeria when the unthinkable happened below.

Fashola looks embarrassed as he waits for power to be restored. When it is finally restored, the super minister has a very sheepish smile on his face.

GEJ left $30b in reserves for the new Buhari govt as of May 2015.

In 2015 alone, the Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF) yielded N25billion (=$83m). Yield for 2016 will at least match this figure if they have not already spent the money. Yet the Buhari wastes our resources to fly around the world to lie to whoever cares to listen to him that nothing was saved by previous governments.

On top of this at average of $50/bbl for last 16 months since he took over in May 2015, the EB has raked in $29b in oil revenues (assuming 60% NNPC average equity in the JV). This figure excludes Petroleum Profits Tax and Royalties.

Over that same period, NLNG paid well over $1.4billion annually as dividends and interests to government. This figure excludes arrears owed previous governments, which Babs Omotowa the last NLNG MD announced have been cleared.

Govt has also been raking in over N4trillion ($13.3billion) in IGR from customs duty, taxes, VAT, levies, etc

On top of these they have borrowed over N2.2 trillion ($7.3billion) in one year that Finance Minister has been "guessing", and is not even sure, what it was spent on.

Just this week, African Development Bank approved a loan of over $5.1billion to Nigeria Fed Govt, and $1billion is to be released immediately to fund 2016 budget.

Fed Govt by its own account has also recovered almost $500million from looted funds.

Meanwhile, latest CBN report indicates that the foreign reserves which stood at $30billion when Buhari (EB) took over has been drawn down to $24billion, a net decrease of $6billion in just 16months.

With such huge sum of money already spent, the life of the citizens has not felt the impact. The economy is in a tail-spin, spiralling downwards. No single new project has commenced, the ones he met on ground are not receiving funding, pensioners are not being paid, salaries are delayed.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved new appointments in 13 Federal Government agencies.
The appointments according to a statement by the Director (Press) in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Bolaji Adebiyi, include Mr. Joseph Ari as Director-General of Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami) as Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
Others are Engineer Simbi Kesiye Wabote as the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Monitoring Board, while the new Director-General of the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) is Aboloma Osita Anthony.
Also appointed at the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) is Mamman Amadu, Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has Barrister Sharon Ikeazor as Executive Secretary, New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) National Coordinator/CEO is Princess Akodundo Gloria, Petroleum Equalization Fund (PEF) new Executive Secretary is Alhaji Ahmed Bobboi, Oil & Gas Free Zone Authority has Umana Okon Umana as Managing Director.
Others are Sa’adiya Faruq as Federal Commissioner for the National Commission for Refugees, Migrant and Internally Displaced Persons, Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) new Chairman is Engineer Usman Abubakar, Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) has Dr. Bello Aliyu Gusau as the Executive Secretary and Yewande Sadiku is the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC).

Yet if the truth is to be told, no matter what
mistakes he may have made, Tinubu does
not deserve to be treated in this way.

Up until the Presidential elections were
conducted last year he led and held together
the south-western wing of the APC with an
iron fist and he was the undisputed leader of
the APC in that zone.

All four APC governors from the south west
and virtually every single party leader waited
on his every word and he called all the
shots.

Sadly today, just over one year later, he is a
caricature of his former self. Today Tinubu
can only boast of having the ear and the full
support of only two of those governors,
namely Rauf Aregbesola of Osun state, who
will NEVER betray him no matter what, and
Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos state who will
also stand firmly behind him until the very
end.

The truth is that Tinubu has lost much
ground and political mileage in recent times
and, as more daggers are pulled out over
the next few months and years it is bound
to get worse for him.

Yet that does not mean that he is finished. I
say this because he is a tried and tested
fighter and a formidable adversary who is
quite capable of pulling the whole APC
house down.

It would be a fatal error for any of his
adversaries, including President Buhari, Vice
President Atiku Abubakar or Senate
President Bukola Saraki, to underestimate
him or dismiss his ability to fight back.

In July 2016, just after my release from
detention and during the course of an
interview with Channels Television (which
can still be viewed on Youtube) Mr. Seun
Okinbaloye asked me whether I could ever
contemplate going back to the APC and how
I thought the ruling party would fare into the
future.

I told him that I would NEVER go back to
the APC under ANY circumstances. I also
told him that in any case by 2019 there
would not be an APC, as it is presently
constituted, left because the party would
have spilt up into three separate and distinct
political entities.

I told him that the Tinubu group comprising
of men like Baba Bisi Akande, Rauf
Aregbesola, Akinwummi Ambode and others
would establish one party, the Atiku
Abubakar group comprising of men like
Bukola Saraki, Rabiu Kwakwanso and many
of the former PDP leaders and governors
that had left for the APC when President
Goodluck Jonathan was in power would
establish another and that the Buhari group
comprising of men like Nasir El Rufai, Bello
Masari, Aminu Tambuwal, Rotimi Amaechi,
Rochas Okorocha, Chris Ngige, Ogbonaya
Onu, Adams Oshiomole and virtually the
entire structure of the old CPC leadership in
the core north would constitute yet another.

I stand by this prediction.
These three strong and equally forceful
factions can be likened to the proverbial
three blind yet ravenous wolves.

They cannot stay in the same cage or
remain on the same platform for long
without tearing each other to pieces.
Eventually they will all go their separate
ways and, hopefully, contend with a newly-
branded and reinvigorated PDP in the field
of battle in 2019.

What we are witnessing today in the ranks
of the APC is the beginning of that bitter
separation and messy divorce and it is going
to get far worse.

It will be loud, bitter, acrimonious and
rancorous and many political empires,
careers and aspirations will be destroyed as
a consequence of it.

My hope and prayer is that the PDP, which
is also going through its own rigorous
process of redefinition and reinvigoration,
can get its act together before then, take
advantage of the situation, pick up the
pieces and win the presidential election in
2019. I am sure that we will.

Meanwhile my advice to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu
is to watch his back, consolidate his base,
fight his enemies, reach out to new friends,
accept the fact that he is at war and sleep
with one eye wide open. The truth is that it
will get far worse before it gets any better.

Lamenting the increas­ing excruciating econom­ic hardship, Rufa’i lashed at top political office holders, as well as the rich and af­fluent people in communi­ties around Kawo, Unguwan Dosa, Hayin Banki and Un­guwan Kanawa, saying they had the capability to assist the poor in their midst but were not living up the mass­es’ expectations.

“Some of them have gone on Hajj for the umpteenth time, while the money they spend making such regular hajj visits could have been used to buy food and feed several mouths. Hajj is in­cumbent upon a Muslim, once in a life time, if the person can afford it,” he em­phasised.

He added that, “rice and maize as well as other sta­ple food items have turned into precious commodities which only the rich and privileged could afford. Many of our people now feed on leaves, some can­not even cook the normal pate, they are seriously feel­ing the pang of an excruci­ating poverty. We pray the government should come to peoples rescue by estab­lishing free feeding centers.

“The other time, I saw some children chasing a big agama lizard. When I asked them what they were doing, they said they want to kill it because its roasted meat was sweet. They added that even cats are longer spared because it is also a delica­cy,” he said.

The youth leader chal­lenged people in authori­ty to explain how the food items donated to the state by Hajiya Aisha Buhari, were disbursed, alleging that there was little of no adequately publicity, if any, on how the items were dis­tributed.

“People here are suffer­ing; hunger is everywhere. If you go to the Masjid, you see people begging for mon­ey to buy food. Go to the hospitals, you see malnour­ished children everywhere needing medicare and the Doctors will say it’s either malaria or typhoid that is their ailment.
“Government should please come to our aid. It is capable of taking the people out of this predicament,” he insisted.
