defbond1: As long as Nigeria is divided along tribal lines corruption will remain.
As long as people defend people of their own tribes when they have done wrong corruption will remain.
As long as the political parties create a division amongst the people, then corruption remains..

Is it really difficult for people to see that corruption can only be effectively stamped out when people unite to fight it?

Is it really difficult for Nigerians to actually reason?

Probe Fashola
Probe Stella
Probe Obanikoro too (would he have done same if he was governor? I bet yes!
Probe all the politicians

But then are you ready to make a difference if it was you?

It all begins from You!
sense in the making! The problem is that I don't think it can ever be actualized... More reason why the country needs to be balkanized into smaller manager parts.
These politicians knows the weakness of Nigerians: Tribalism, and always capitalise on that to foster and perpetuate corruption.

I would love for Fashola to buy more of those expensive luxury vehicles, in fact if we are asked to vote a preference I would vote a RR or Bentley for my governor. We should reward hardwork, dilligence and performance to incite and encourage others to rise up for their own reward.

Besides, this man does not use siren or stop movement to use our dangerous roads, he deserves the protection.

lekkie073: story
"Story" in the sense that your brain has been programmed not to believe or atleast evaluate any account that detriments Fashola's image? Why are you scared that Obanikoro's research bellies LASG image as prudent bureaucracy full of wary executives? What's in it for you? when people are trying to hold our leaders accountable with claims, the least you can do is try to refute the claims if you are privy to any information that will do the work for you.
By the way, Obanikoro is yet to address the issue of late payment, and in some cases, non-payment of ITF allowances.
This goes goes along to further prove that this our leaders enjoy writing and promulgating incendiary articles just to incite the masses against themselves and in so doing, overlook their mediocrity and misappropriation of public funds.
They are all birds of the same feathers! Pot calling Kettle black!!
PoliticsObanikoro: Fashola’s Official Car Costs More Than Oduah’s Bulletproof Cars by kalunomics(op): 6:41pm On Jan 02, 2014
Chairman, Board of Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and Nigeria’s former High Commissioner to Ghana, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, has berated the Nigerian media for beaming its searchlight on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the expense of what is going on in All Progressives Congress, APC-controlled states,
particularly, Lagos. Obanikoro, a former PDP governorship
aspirant in Lagos State, said that while the media blew corruption cases involving the ruling party out of proportion, it failed to highlight an even higher level of corruption going on at the states controlled by APC. Speaking with select journalists at the weekend, Obanikoro, who stressed that the PDP-led Federal Government had been fighting corruption since 1999, and is leading the way in terms of accountability and transparency in governance, described Lagos State as a cesspool of corruption. According to him: “What is good about the federal level is that whatever the people of the country complained about, we don’t hide them nor put them in the closet. We are dealing with them; people are being arrested and put in jail. “Tell me, how many local government chairmen or councilors have they tried for corruption or put behind bars since 1999 that they have been managing affairs of this state? There is a cesspool of corruption in Lagos state from any angle you may look at it”, he added. On the N255 million bullet proof cars scandal rocking the aviation ministry, Obanikoro said: “Oh yes! Accusation has been made in the open. Panels have been set up to look into the matter and the president has received the report. I am sure in good time; he would come out with a position. Be that as it may, nobody can sweep under the carpet what PDP had done to tackle corruption. Their party has not done anything. That is what we are saying.
Everything they have accused us of doing, they are worse off. “They accused Stella Oduah of buying two armoured cars for N255 million. The one the Lagos state governor is riding up and down is more expensive than Oduah’s cars. He is a public officer too who draws his salary from tax payer’s money. “It is the same standard, it doesn’t matter. It is
even more damning for the governor because he is elected by the people and he is supposed to uphold the trust and confidence of the people of Lagos. So, their own is even worse in that case but it is unfortunate the media refuse to look at that area. I am in the know of the cost but I am putting it to you to do the investigation on the cost of those two jeeps which our governor uses as official car”, the former senator said.

Many things are missing in the specs; does it play HD 1080p videos at 30fps? Does it have super Amoled resistance, Amoled or corning gorilla glass? what's the PPI pixel density?does it come with power pack charger like the F7? what is the DC-HSDPA speed? Is the battery removeable? Does it use micro or mini SIM? Does it use dual SIM?
Someone should please help me with the above specs of the phone. I need to chose between this new phantom and Gionee D1. The retarding factor in D1 for me, is the non removeable battery feature

PoliticsRe: Abacha's Daughter Lash-Out At Wole Soyinka On Twitter by kalunomics(m): 6:11am On Jul 19, 2013
lafflaff123: And just as predicted the Pyrates are out en masse defending their god, good job guys.

My problem here and I say it without being biased, is that Miss Abacha has the right to her thoughts, beliefs, opinions and write ups without the hallelujah singers trying to drown her rights out with HOW DARE SHE.

So Wole Soyinka, has the right or Monopoly to throw jabs at people and people don't have the right to throw jabs at him too? So Wole Soyinka because he won the Nobel Prize has the exclusive right to insult people and call them out and others cant do it too? are we operating the George Orwell principle here? ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL BUT SOME ANIMALS ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS? people should have an open mind instead of that tying themselves down mentally.

Soyinka has done Nigeria proud with his feats in the literary world( by the way Eze goes to school is far more better and enjoyable reading than all of his books combined) and that is where he belongs, instead of being a political jobber as there is a BINI proverb that says NA WHERE THEM DEY SHARE MEAT WEY DON SPOIL NA THERE OLD MAN DEY LOSE HIM RESPECT.

So if Wole Soyinka wants to join the MEAT SHARING CLASS(Politicians) and start picking up fights by insulting others, then he should expect the law of reciprocity to come into play.

This is not a South East/ South South/ North/ West thing. Its called common sense, and common sense has no tribe.

And for those saying how dare she do throw jabs at Soyinka, please hide your head in shame. I have one question to ask you guys and that is why do you guys think Soyinka is above insults or reproach? I look forward to getting one intelligent answer to the question. This mentality that we cant talk about some certain people in the Nigerian society is a shame, and yet we call ourselves educated
wise words from a decent man!

donodion: Guy,kudos. I heard the incident took place on wednesday. Another fact people on this forum should know in SA is that business competitions could be "sorted out",elimininated, if he have no strong connections.
One igbo boy was murdered at reitzpark or so,somewhere at welkom slum less than 3 weeks back.He was into gold exchange and doing very well, however we sensed his elimination involve some close associates but the hitman who shattered his head while asleep is a saffer. The mofo according to feelers is somewhere in eastern cape. He better run to cops for protection cos .....*grins*.
You guys shouldn't judge all igbos as in SA as criminals. Some months back some pakistanis were murdered in their home at mitchels plain in western cape by competition (someone in same business as his, bakery). Simply because their bread business is advancing well. Either this guys case in a deal gone bad or he was sorted out.
The point is that so many people here are kids with low thinking faculty! The tilt towards wherever some yoruba parochial miscreants like, Ola Johnson, Dayokanu, Eko Ile, SlideWAXIE, Bluetooth, Illugun boy et al, pushes them to very easily. All they need is just one tribal/ethnic slurry remark from one of the above and they pounce on their keyboard typing thrash all over - be it against Ghana, Kenya, or South Africa related issue. Little did they know that the gross attitude can swiftly become habit if unguarded!
