Top 10 Fast Mobile Browser In 2017/2018 Wepublicisenaija did not collect money for this post. This list is been complied base on how mobile friendly and fast a browser is, we are not here to tell you that one is the supreme best or so, we only say base on the design interface low ram consumption, low memory space consumption and a file download speed. Top 10 Fast Mobile Browser In 2017/2018 1 Opera Mini we all know that this browser stayed with us right from the java phone, Symbian,BlackBerry up till now we all know how fast this browser is the download speed is endless. This is a mobile web browser developed by the Opera Software company. It was primarily designed for the Java ME platform, as a low-end sibling for Opera Mobile, but it is now developed exclusively for Android and iOS. It was previously developed for Windows 10 mobile, Windows Phone 8.1, BlackBerry, and Symbian. Those versions are still maintained, despite not being developed. 2 Google Chrome is a freeware web browser developed by Google. It was first released in September 2008, for Microsoft Windows, and was later ported to Linux, macOS, iOS and Android. Google Chrome is also the main component of Chrome OS, where it serves as a platform for running web apps. Google releases the majority of Chrome’s source code as the Chromium open-source project One component that is not open-source is the built-in Adobe Flash Player (that Chrome has disabled by default since September 2016). Chrome used the WebKit layout engine until version 27. As of version 28, all Chrome ports except the iOS port use Blink, a fork of the WebKit engine. 3 Mozilla Firefox (or simply Firefox) is a free and open-source web browser developed by Mozilla Foundation and its subsidiary, Mozilla Corporation. Firefox is available for Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems. Its sibling, Firefox for Android, is available for Android. Firefox uses the Gecko layout engine to render web pages, which implements current and anticipated web standards. An additional version, Firefox for iOS, was released in late 2015; however, because of artificial restrictions imposed by Apple Inc., it is forced to use the platform-bundled WebKit layout engine. 4 Flynx (Android) The pop-up style browser, Flynx is currently one of our favorites. It pre-loads links in the background with a floating on-screen indicator while you continue operating your other apps without wasting your time watching pages load. Once done, you can then tap the indicator, with Flynx displaying the Web page pop-up style, with support for up to four pre-loaded tabs. Flynx also adds a lot of neat features, such as an intelligent ad-blocker, double-tapping links to save pages for offline viewing and easy link sharing. More for opening in-app links rather than a standalone browser app, Flynx is still a handy addition to your app tray. 5 Dolphin (Android, iOS)Dolphin (Android, iOS) stays strong when it comes to powerful, feature-packed mobile browsers, packing a variety of tools options, and addons that let you make the most out of a mobile browser. Standouts include gesture bookmarks that allow you to draw letters to jump straight to your favorite sites, as well as Sonar, a voice-driven search tool. Addon support, custom gestures, tabbed browsing and more are also available, making for a highly configurable, feature rich mobile browser. 6 Mercury Browser (Android, iOS)Mercury Browser is a free cross-platform browser by iLegendSoft available on Android and iOS that’s based on the Webkit engine. It’s got a rich set of features to make mobile browsing easier for mobile users, such as a regularly updated ad-blocker, tabbed browsing, gesture controls, private mode browsing, a customizable search bar and more. A variety of plugins add extra features, such as a reader mode and integration with a variety of cloud storage services, and a desktop extension allows you to sync Chrome or Firefox bookmarks to your mobile device. 7 iCab ($1.99) (iOS)A feature-packed browser, iCab trades elegance for power in a slightly clunkier, desktop-like package. iCab includes tabbed browsing, a customizable URL-based filter for adblocking, a full screen mode, download manager, private browsing, user-agent spoofing and more. iCab also includes a fair amount of mobile-oriented features, such as multi-touch gesture support and page compression to save on your mobile data cap. It could be accused of feature bloat, but chances are, if there’s a browser feature you’re looking for, iCab’s got it built in. 8 Ghostery Privacy Browser (Android, iOS)Ghostery started out as a desktop browser extension that helped its users identify online ad-tracking technologies to reveal more about the organizations behind them and any relevant opt-out information. It’s since made the leap to mobile with the Ghostery Privacy Browser (Android, iOS) which brings the same tracker-spotting functionality to mobile devices, in addition to supporting some neat mobile browsing features, such as tabbed browsing, ad-blocking, customizable default search engines, form auto-complete, a popup blocker and more. 9 Puffin Browser ($2.99) (Android, iOS)Besides being wicked fast, Puffin Browser (Android, iOS) brings a lot of interesting features to the mobile browser field. First off, it carries full support for Adobe Flash, allowing for the consumption of Flash media and games still prevalent on numerous websites. Virtual gamepads and trackpads allow for various controls and mouse-pointer style navigation of websites. Another neat feature is the ability to download files straight to your cloud service of choice, saving further bandwidth. Add-on support lets users add even more customizability. 10 OrBot + OrFox (Android) & Onion Browser (iOS, $0.99)Users looking to access the Tor anonymizing network on mobile devices have a variety of good options to consider. On Android devices, the combination of OrBot and OrFox is a popular choice, with OrBot serving as a proxy connector app to the Tor network, while OrFox is a privacy-enhanced version of Firefox based on earlier work on the Guardian Project’s OrWeb anonymized browser. OrFox adds some neat quality of life features to OrWeb, most notably tabbed browsing. On iOS, users can try out the Onion Browser as a reliable Tor browsing option. Either way, you’re trading speed for anonymity, as routing through Tor will slow down your browsing. source: http://wepublicisenaija.com/top-10-fast-mobile-browser-2017-2018

Over time you will realize that there are certain skills every student needs to survive university campus in Nigeria. Without these skills, you might end up struggling till you learn it the hard way. I suggest you devote time to mastering these skills just before you head to campus. How do you combine your lectures and a part-time job? Or to create a side hustle while still in school? What about getting to pass exams even without attending class? Finally, how do you get to enjoy yourself like others even with a small monthly allowance? Nobody will teach you all these, either you learn right now or you learn from experience. I have compiled a list of necessary skills every student needs to have if you must survive in the campus. In case I miss any point, feel free to add up yours. 1. Cramming Imagine you show up in school just a few days to exams after a lengthy period outside the school. How do you get to tag along and still make good grades? I wouldn’t advise you go into the exam hall feeling so blank, or asking how an equation was derived. You should know what you need to write, the rest will sort itself out at the appropriate time. Cramming is a skill that needs to be mastered and utilized properly. As a young undergraduate, I used it so well and ended up with a very high second class result. The only negative aspect of it is that; immediately after the purpose of cramming is passed, you forget everything you crammed. 2. Begging Skills This covers all aspect of your student life. After skipping classes and you need someone to teach you all has been taught? Reaching out to a friend to borrow you some money for Friday nights out? Or selling fake stories to your parents to get an extra allowance. All in all, you need all those white lies to get what you want without stress. 3. Endurance skills If there is a skill you would need, it should be endurance skills. Have you ever imagined standing up and receiving a lecture for 2-hrs just because you want to sign an attendance register? Or line up the in bank for 5-hrs just to pay your school fees? Or even worse, fight in the long line just to run your clearance before an exam? You would surely need endurance skills in any Nigerian institution you find yourself. 4. Budgeting The fear of going broke between the first and second week of every month should make you learn this. Every expense should be written down on paper and tabulated. This will help you limit your spending. 5. Living together with difficult people This is one of the major skills that students should have if you intend to have a good stay in school. Especially those who would be staying in the school hostel, you either learn it or you are in for a long thing with roommates. 6. Entrepreneurial Skills You should learn how to look out for money making opportunities as a student and utilize it. By selling recharge cards, cooking for other students for a fee, doing laundry for other and collecting money, writing assignments, typing projects, and many other opportunities. You have to figure out which one would suit you better and do it! You can Learn several ways to save and make money while in school 7. Toasting Skills The last but not the least skill that helps you survive the cold nights the on the campus. When the weather gets cold and others are busy, would you be found wanting? Weather for two isn’t really you and your pillow! I guess you know what I mean? http://www.wikinaija.com.ng/2017/11/see-7-skills-every-nigerian-student.html |
Multiple award-winning Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale. has disclosed that he ‘hardly’ considers Wizkid, a superstar. While speaking during a program on Kasapa FM’ he said most of his colleague-musicians behave weird and awkward around Wizkid hence rating him as the best and richest African artiste, but he (Shatta Wale) see’s him as an ordinary person when they meet on the same platform. According to him; “I will not see Wizkid and be stunned, I rather want him to see me and be amazed because I don’t see anything extraordinary about him, even though he claims to the best African artiste,” He added that he is not bragging about his wealth or competing with anyone but it’s high time Ghanaian artistes respected themselves and stopped rating Nigerian artistes into the sky. http://www.wikinaija.com.ng/2017/11/wizkid-isnt-superstar-stop-rating.html

According to reports making the round online, Rita Daniel, mother of teenage actress, Regina Daniels literally gave a go ahead for actresses to have s*x with ‘Movie Directors’ in exchange for movie roles. This rumour is spear-headed by a gossip site, Gistreel! In her words, she allegedly said; “When you talk about s*x for role, it has to do with an individual. There’s nowhere that it does not exist. In the entertainment industry, people do a lot of funny things to get what they want. I believe it is an individual thing. If you feel s*x is what will take you up there, fine, go ahead. But know that whatever takes you up there that is not God’s will, will certainly crash. Definitely, when you are up there with God’s help, nobody will pull you down. Anything you get from an illicit affair does not end well. How did it get this bad in the movie industry and who is to be blamed “Nobody is to be blamed. If producers ‘toast’ you, maybe it’s okay but sometimes the girls are the ones ‘toasting’ the producers. So, who is to be blamed then? A man has the right to say ‘bring your body’; a woman has the right to say ‘no’. It is a two-way thing. If it is rape, it is a different thing.” http://www.wikinaija.com.ng/2017/11/regina-daniels-mother-rita-encourages.html

Following a viral report that the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development reportedly spent N700m to create a website, the Ministry in a statement released this afternoon debunked the report. According to the Ministry, the money was spent on IT Infrastructure, Human Capital and Civil Works for the Ministry and not for a website. This is coming after this act was condemned by Nigerians including Sen. Ben Murray Bruce over its extravagance. The Statement reads; The attention of the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development has been drawn to news making the rounds especially on the social media that the Ministry spent the sum of N700million creating a website for itself. The Ministry considers it incumbent to react swiftly to this misrepresentation and to set the records straight. 2. It is important for clarity to state that what the Ministry has acquired with the said sum of money is an integrated IT infrastructure which comprises two Data Centres, an off-site recovery centre, civil and environmental works on the Centres, running of the Centres till end of first quarter 2018, training of over 225 officials locally and internationally amongst other cost components of the entire infrastructure and programme. It is indeed disingenuous of anyone to reinvent and reduce all of these into an expenditure on a website. 3. When, last Thursday, 9th November 2017, our Ministers led other officials of the ministry and sectoral stakeholders to unveil the IT Integrated Automation & Interactive Solid Minerals Portal (IAISMP), we were really fulfilling one of the short-term pledges listed in our roadmap. These assets form critical pillars of our agenda to reform the mining and minerals sector, particularly as a key step towards our vision to lead the sector to shared mining prosperity where we make significant contributions to GDP in the country. 4. In realising aspects of this project as a turnkey solution, we have been careful to follow all laid down processes. Since the cost of implementing the project is above ministerial limits, we sought and obtained the concurrence of the Federal Executive Council after a detailed presentation in January 2017. 5. In the course of the project, we have emphasised the need for stakeholders’ interface, which included a facility inspection tour for reporters and journalists who cover the sector. We have no reason to commit public resources to projects that will not advance the cause of repositioning our sector and we believe that we did everything to intimate the general public about our activities in this respect. 6. For the records and for public information, our IT Integrated Automation & Interactive Solid Minerals Portal (IAISMP) project has the following key components: 6.1. Feasibility assessment, needs analyses and re-engineering of the IT processes within the ministry, departments and agencies; 6.2. 2nos data centres (a fully equipped on-premises centre within the ministry and another off-site centre for recovery and real-time backup in case of emergency), also covering civil and environmental works; 6.3. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution and Electronic Document Management System (eDMS) solution—Microsoft Dynamics AX: Financials, Supply Chain, Business Intelligence, Human Capital, Procurement (license and maintenance); 6.4. Basic and advanced IT (ERP & eDMS) and GIS training programmes for 200nos staff of the ministry and its agencies. Already 75 officials have been trained in Abuja; 6.5. GIS capacity building for 25nos management and lead technical staff with Esri; 6.6. Wide Area Network at the ministry’s headquarters and all its 10 agencies (including back up internet, disaster recovery hosting and DR site internet—installation and initial one-year subscription); 6.7. Procurement, supply and installation of a GIS laboratory with 20nos computer systems; 6.8. Building of GIS Web Portal with Business Automation System, Content Management System (CMS), Decision Support System and Side Stream along the minerals corridor; 6.9. Reordering and re-organisation of available geological data in the sector into geospatial database; 6.10. Online Mining Licensing and Mineral Title Application with tracking system for openness, transparency and accountability in compliance with global EITI standards for the extractives sector; 6.11. Online payment (royalties and fees) and blocking of revenue leakages by integrating/interfacing with Remita, GIFMIS and relevant revenue generating MDAs of the government; 6.12. Enterprise ArcGIS Solution license and maintenance for GIS Mining and Assets Management; 6.13. On-site project management and execution staff (26nos), including operationalisation of the project management office for upward of 10 months. Project staff to remain on-site till end of Q1-2018; 6.14. Procurement, supply and installation of various project equipment, complete with civil works; 6.15. Collaborative tools and help desk; and, 6.16. Strategic communications. 7. It is most important to state that acquired IT infrastructure, in all its ramifications, is an enabler of the serious work at repositioning the sector. For us, this is never an end in itself but a robust attempt to ease how the regulatory-cum-administrative systems interface with mining operators and stakeholders everywhere. It is noteworthy that only this past October [2017], the Mining Journal’s World Risk Report, which rated different mining jurisdictions on a range of indicators including legal, governance social, fiscal and infrastructure indicated that Nigeria is showing notable improvements in positions. In the two years that we have methodically and deliberately introduced reforms and implemented a roadmap, our sector now has better perception, lowered investments risks and improved opportunity index. 8. The import of this assessment, in light of the World Bank’s Report on the improved status of our country towards ease of doing business, cannot be far-fetched. Ours is a modest effort to consolidate the overall efforts of the Federal Government at increasing opportunities in other sectors of the economy. 9. We have done repeated due diligence to ensure that the implementation of the project does not only meet expected design but also fits into globally recognised systems and further help us to place our jurisdiction on the mining map. A phased approach has been adopted, with incremental deliverables which should be fully completed by end of first quarter of 2018. 10. We continue to be open to checks and to present ourselves to public scrutiny. We want to assure all Nigerians that we do not take lightly the confidence reposed in us or in our government nor would we do anything to undermine our reputation under whatever guise. 11. We come from a tradition of commitment to service and honour in the handling of all our public service roles. In superintending over this project, we are confident to declare that we have not let the ball down, therefore it is wantonly disingenuous for anyone to reinvent and reduce all of these into an expenditure on a website. source : http://www.wikinaija.com.ng/2017/11/700m-was-spend-to-develop-website.html

An Egyptian lawyer has sparked outrage and he revealed he believes women who wear ripped jeans deserved to be raped. Nabih al-Wahsh was speaking during the Infirad Show, a current affairs talk show in Egypt hosted by Saeid Hasaseen. Incredibly, Wahsh said it was part of the ‘national duty’ to rape women wearing such garments because they were “inviting men to harass them”. He also said that his view was even more valid if the jeans were ripped from the back, according to Al Arabiya. He said: “Girls must respect themselves so others respect them. “Protecting morals is more important than protecting borders.” Brave female guests on the show attempting to fight back against Wahsh’s views after being outraged by his comments. The debate was aired on October 19 on the Al-Assema satellite channel as guests discussed the country’s draft law fighting prostitution and debauchery. Maya Mursi, Head of the National Council for Women’s Rights said the comments were a “flagrant call” for rape and violate ‘everything in the Egyptian constitution. The council has now filed a complaint about the statement to the Supreme Council for Media Regulation. But despite the backlash, Wahsh has refused to back down, and has even released an updated statement to another media website where he said ‘his daughter would also deserve that [rape, sexual harassment] if she decided to wear jeans that are ripped from the back’. Wahsh’s damaging comments come as a recent #MeToo campaign has taken over social media. Women around the world are sharing the two simple words on social media to show the true scale of sexual assault. http://www.wikinaija.com.ng/2017/11/its-normal-to-rape-women-who-wear.html

Nigerian cuisines consists of delicious and mouthwatering dishes from the many ethnic groups in Nigeria. Nigerian cuisines typically involve the use of spices and herbs with palm oil or groundnut oil to make varieties of deliciously flavoured foods, often spiced with chilli peppers. However, there are some of our mouth-watering Nigerian foods that actually have foreign origins. 1. Jollof Rice All Nigerians are probably very familiar with the ‘Jollof wars’ by now and though which country’s Jollof rice is the best remains a topic of passionate debate, there is one interesting fact about Jollof rice that might be unknown by many – Jollof rice is actually of foreign origin. The origins of Jollof rice can be traced to the Senegambian region that was ruled by the Jolof empire. 2. Fried Rice This probably wouldn’t come as a shock to many but Fried rice is another food with foreign origin that has been adopted by Nigerians to become one of the popular Nigerian cuisines. The exact origins of fried rice has actually been lost to history but it is believed to be of Chinese origin, invented sometime within the Sui Dynasty (589 – 618 AD), in the city of Yangzhou in the eastern Jiangsu province. 3. Coconut Rice Over time, this dish has become a beloved dish of many seeking something different from the conventional white rice. Coconut rice is typically prepared by soaking white rice in coconut milk or cooking it with coconut flakes. Though coconut rice is found in many cultures of the world, it is believed to have its origins in the South Asia, Southeast Asia and Latin America regions. 4. Corn Soup This is locally referred to as ‘Omi Ukpopka’ and is a common food of the Afemai people in northern Edo state. Though the Afemai’s people’s version of the meal is exclusive to them, the origin of meal ‘corn soup’ can actually be traced to the Native Americans. Corn soup was a popular dish of the Native Americans mainly due to the fact that corn was a staple crop for many Native American tribes. Asides the Nigerian ‘Omi Ukpoka’, there are other variations of the corn soup which include: creamed corn soup, sweet corn soup, corn crab soup, Chinese sweet corn soup, dried Indian corn soup, Mexican corn soup and Tibetan style corn soup.
