Delivery I'll give it to mi tho his lyrics are very wack.

I think it may have gotten lost with the Nairaland Tsunami but I would be mighty glad if you could reproduce it one more time.

In my over 10 years membership of Nairaland.. that thread is the greatest thread I've ever read.. and believe me, Ive visited Nairaland every day for the past 11yeara so I think know what I'm talking about.

Very true! Nigeria would have been the best in Africa if not for tribalism and Hausa/Fulani claiming they are born to rule. The North has ruled Nigeria for almost wooping 40 years out of 58 yrs since Independwnce. Southern and Northern Nigeria are supposed to exchange Presidency equally, but the North... If Fayoshe was to be Hausa, they would have supported him enmasse. They'll even rather prefer and supoort Hausa Cow as President instead of a Southerner. I wish Fayoshe was Igbo, I love igbos for their Unity, they'll ensure he wins. But lo, I see so many stupid Yorubas criticizing Fayose here. Is Buhari better that Fayoshe?!!! Yorubas, una better unite get sense like Igbos and Hausas before is too late for una dumb mofos always pulling one another down. Also, Igbos and Yorubas can team up in this coming election to call the bluff of "The born to rule" Power hungry North once and for all!

Then why haven't they supported Atiku who is actually a Fulani and has tried numerous times since Obj's govt to be president nko?

Seems your postulation lacks basis bro.

My brother..

What saying in a nutshell is this..

You don't visit naming ceremony and when it's time to give presents to the newborn baby, u make gaffes like "Oga..this you baby somehow resembles the Mallam at the gate oh!" ..right in earshot of guests and other well-wishers.

It's classless bro.

Even if the baby actually bears no resemblance to the couple, the right thing is to drop your present s and compliments and bounce.
finish!

What you said ..correct assumption or not.. this thread is not the right place or time to utter such.

For real.

Okay, what if the roles were reversed and you opened a wonderful thread celebrating the highpoints of igbo culture (I'm assuming you're Igbo) and from outta the blues, someone just drops by and says.."nice thread but you know you guys are just a bunch of kidnappers and chest-beaters..."
How would you feel?

Sometimes ..just be nice and move on.

The world is a terrible and depressing place already.

No need making it any worse for no good reason whatsoever.

Peace bro.

Ps... Im not fighting you or making an active attempt at insulting your person. I'm just trying to point out the folly of your ways In the hope that you learn to exercise restraint when it matters.

Sometimes if you don't have something nice to say in a gathering where a celebration of one's culture and identity is involved, please just form silence and move along.

You'll look and make people believe you're wiser that way rather than always vomiting the first thing that comes into your head.

"Since May last year till now.. there hasn't been any fuel crisis whatsoever!"

Now tell me the longest period we have ever had without one fuel scarcity wahala or the other in the past 20 years!

Just tell me the last time you went an entire year or 12 months without any major fuel crisis?

And no!.. Buhari did have the worst fuel crisis in Nigeria... Jonathan did!

I dunno whether you were in Lagos oh but I vividly remember ATM's...Banks, telecom masts and even Radio Stations shutting down at the tail end of Jonathan's tenure; right before his handover; because there was no drop of diesel or petrol anywhere to run their generation sets.

Never in my almost 40 years have I ever experienced a near breakdown of public service due to non availability of petroleum products.

Well..he hasn't achieved much but for the first in one and a half years.. we have never had fuel scarcity!!

He has single handedly internationalized the struggle, and I am very sure that his plan to Stop Igbos will give Ipob more recognition, and at the end, Nig will be at the loosing end, because white men don't reason like some iddiots here in Nigeria.

On the issue of Lai Mohammed and his fellow maggots desperately calling Ipob terrorist, I think they are very foolish because Igbos are 99℅ Christians and Christians don't breed terrorist. We all know the religion that embraced terrorism as their way of life.

Your photos will start appearing normally with time, also your app data is responsible for the small available internal memory, that's not avoidable since your rom is 16gig with about 10gig available for use. Lastly, those large files you see on deep cleaner are on your memory card, not phone.

Okay sha.

I had just gone through the photos I took immediately after the update only a few minutes ago only to find out that they're disappeared again!

But I just saw your post only now.

Maybe I'll take your word.. since you said the photos will start appearing with time.

As for the large files in my memory card,

I honestly have no idea how they arrived on my phone.

If I delete them, would I experience any drawbacks whatsoever?

Both are official, but since you are on stable, download the first one, which is stable rom.

To flash via recovery :
After downloading the rom, copy it into the Internal memory of your device in a folder you should name ' downloaded_rom'. Then go to the updater app, touch the three dots on the top right of your screen, then click on choose update package, select the folder 'downloaded_rom', tap the rom and your phone will be flashed.
Note : This might take up to 15 mins, don't stop the process until your phone boots to the main screen. Also, ensure you have upto 50% of battery juice before starting.

If I were you, I would save a copy of the rom after downloading, might be useful in case of any bug.

Thank you very much again!

I was finally able to follow your advice instructions and im no on the 8.2.10 updated version.

But

l motnoticed that all my hidden files weren't restored.

However, when I took newer photos, I found out that they actually remained in the gallery!!

..for now sha.

But again!

Thanks for helpful ng me kill two birds with one stone!

You be good.

Ps.. I noticed that my internal storage is almost full only less than 5months after purchasing the phone.

I don't have any heavy files there.. only two videos or thereabouts, the photo album is emptier than normal and I don't have more than 7 apps installed on the phone.
I've used the phone cleaner app countless times but to no avail.

Meanwhile, I found some really heavy files like the ones in the picture..do I delete them all or what do you think?

I use a redmi 4x.

For almost a month now, I've noticed that my photos tend to disappear from my file folders immediately after being taken.

I initially thought it was cos I synced the phone to Google photos but when I turned the synch option off, the problem remained the same.

I tried wiping my phone but I also found out that xiaomi couldn't recognise and accept my email id.

I'm tired and frustrated.

I've searched everywhere online for help to no avail.

Could anyone help please?

Popular Nigerian TV show, ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ has gone on a hiatus, for the first time since its inception 13 years ago.

The 13th season of the popular family quiz show ended yesterday, June 25, 2017 and won’t be back until the show gets a new sponsor.

The host, Frank Edoho, took to social media to announce this break and said it is because the show’s sponsor, MTN Nigeria has pulled out.

The show’s management also made a formal announcement on its Twitter page.

Damn!

I remembered when I was the show as a contestant,

My!
My!!
My!!!

I had so much fun, Frank Edoho literally laughed till tears streamed down his face. Backstage, he told me that mine was the best show he'd even had and had never laughed that much in his life.

Yeah.. in real life, I can be a helluva a character.

I know!

It also made me realise that indeed; "success has many fathers" cos immediately after that show....,

...Agberos who used to camp down my street started hailing me..

"ah!.... De young professor!l"

"Omo aristotool"

"De fine artist... naked painter wa da agba!!!"

"Anything for awon boys na!!!"

Na so I take come turn local celeb oh!

And in a blink of an eye..my N450k finished, *PIOM*
grin grin grin grin grin grin !!!

Those were nice memories, I must confess I almost was tempted to enter for it again but abeg, man's can't be too greedy nah! Besides it's a once in a lifetime thing, so I was told. grin

Really sad that the show's finally come to an end sha.

Oga Frank, no worry, I'll remember to invite you for my solo exhibition and keep one painting for you to remember me by. cool grin

And hey!!! How many nairalanders still remember when Frank Edoho actually logged on to nairaland and had a tete a tete with us folks?

You are quite right. The second name of the show was Sports Spectacular. I just spoke to someone who reminded me.

The show originally started with the name “Big Fight Of The Decade” around 1984, ’85 or ’86. They showed classic fights involving Mohammed Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, George Foreman, Joe Frazier, Henry Cooper, Roberto Duran, Rocky Marciano, Rocky Graziano, Sugar Ray Robinson, The Chicago Hitman Thomas Hearns, John The Beast Mugabi, Marvellous Marvin Hagler, etc. It was shown at prime time (8pm) and I never missed it.

(My favourite matches were those between Sugar Ray Leonard and any of Duran, Hagler or Hearns. Do you remember the “No Mas” fight in which Duran gave up because he couldn’t stand Sugar Ray’s dancing? However, Ali was certainly the greatest. )

Then they changed the name of the show to Sports Spectacular in the late 1980s and they included other sports like tennis, although the show was still primarily about boxing.

Below: a more recent picture of Chuka Momah.

Yes, the tournament still holds at the LLTC. It's called the Governor's Cup, but it's mainly juniors that attend the tournament. They don't have stars like the Lord Rumens Classics had. http://governorscuplagostennis.com/author/aoke/page/4/

I never missed Chuka Momah's boxing show at 8pm. They changed the name of the show at some point, but it was originally called Big Fight of The Decade.

Tennis was big business in Nigeria from the 1950s to the mid-1990s. Stars came from all over the world to play in tournaments in Nigeria. People like Thomas Muster, Jacob Hlasek, Paul Haarhuis and of course Arthur Ashe, played at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club at one point or the other. We had great tournaments with considerable prizes, like the following big three tournaments:

Lord Rumens Tennis Classics:
Prize = $75,000. Venue = Lagos Lawn Tennis Club.

Chief Olatunji Ajisomo Alabi (aka Lord Rumens) was a multi-millionaire who served as president of the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club from 1966 – 1975. He led other millionaires like his cousin, Sir Mobolaji Bank-Anthony, his nephew Chief Molade Okoya-Thomas, Chief Raheem Adejumo, etc, to invest heavily in tennis, particularly in the LLTC. The centre court at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club was named after Lord Rumens after his death in 1998.

The Lord Rumens Classics was the biggest tennis tournament in Nigeria in the 1970s, ‘80s and ‘90s. It was part of the ATP Tour (the ATP called it “The Lagos Classics” or “The Lagos Open” ). Lots of foreigners played in the tournament in order to gain ATP ranking points. It offered very good prize money, between $60,000-$75,000 in the 1970s and ‘80s and this attracted stars from around the world like Karel Nováček , Thomas Muster, Jacob Hlasek, Paul Haarhuis, Arthur Ashe, Dick Stockton, etc. Chief Molade Okoya-Thomas funded the tournament after the death of Lord Rumens in 1998.

The Lagos Lawn Tennis Club originally had grass courts, but they were converted to clay courts in the 1970s and then to hard courts (concrete) in the late 1980s. A new centre court was also built for the 1976 tournament.

Ogbe Hard Court
Prize = $50,000. Venue = Ogbe Stadium, Benin.

Brigadier General Samuel Ogbemudia was the sports loving governor of the Mid-West State from 1967-1975. He built Ogbe Stadium (now Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium), set up the College of Physical Education, Afuze (to train coaches and PE teachers) and started the Ogbe Hard Court tournament in 1971. It was also during his tenure that Bendel Insurance was formed and the Mid-West/Bendel State dominated sports in Nigeria.

The Ogbe Hard Court tournament was part of the ATP Challenger Tour. It was sponsored by the Bendel State Government, by Pepsi/7up (in the 1970s) and by Guinness in the 1990s. It attracted players from all over the world who came to acquire ATP ranking points and also for the $50,000 cash prize.

Dala Clay Court
Prize = $50,000. Venue = Kano Tennis Club

Dala Clay Court tournament was started in 1980 and it quickly eclipsed the Kaduna Clay Court Tournament to become one of the big three tennis tournaments in Nigeria. It was sponsored by Aminu Dantata, Isyaku Rabiu, etc (and is now sponsored by Aminu Dantata’s grand-nephew, Aliko Dangote).

There were several other tennis tournaments in Nigeria in the 1980s, such as the following

Kaduna Clay Court Tournament. Prize = $25,000). Venue = Kaduna Club.

Premier Hard Court Enugu. Prize = $25,000. Venue = Enugu Sports Club.

Ogun Green Court. Prize = $25,000. Venue = Abeokuta Sports Club.

John Player Classics. Prize = $25,000. Venue = Lagos Country Club, Ikeja.

Nuel Ojei Classics. Venue = Ikoyi Club.

Nigerian tennis stars

Nigeria had so many tennis stars (some of whom were personal friends of mine) who won ATP tournaments all over the world. They included:

1950s and ‘60s: Walter Obianwu, Herbert Oranye, etc.

1960s and ‘70s: Patrick Obi, Lawrence Awopegba, Thompson Onibokun, Yemi Allen, Kehinde Ajayi, etc. and among the women there was Elizabeth Ekong.

1980s: Nduka “The Duke” Odizor (who got to the 4th round at Wimbledon in 1983 and was ranked number 52 in the world in 1984 and number 20 in the doubles. He won 28 titles overall, including in Taipei, Lagos, Thessaloniki, Monterey, Tokyo, Forest hills in New York City, Benin City, etc), David Imonitie, Sadiq Abdulahi, Tony Mmoh, Yakubu Suleiman, Chike and Emeka Obianwu, etc. We had such great female tennis players like Veronica Oyibokia, Nosa Imafidon, Rolake Olagbegi, Nwando Obianwu, etc.

1990s: Katya and Tanya Okpala, Clara Udofia, Osaro Amadin, etc. We also had male tennis players like Sule Ladipo, Jonathan Igbinovia , Priye Hamilton, etc.
