Option 2 is your best bet. Another thing else is quite risky.

MsPapi:
Thank you everyone.

So in summary these are the options I will consider.

1) Go for vacation with my son this March and then travel alone in June to give birth. (I am really considering this).

2) Have my baby here and go for vacation later. (This means I will have to get a visa for the baby too.)

But then if I go alone now, is it possible I am asked why I did not come with my son since we applied for the visa together?

Thanks for the sugggestions so far.

Okay. My opinions are not the only one's expressed here. Applicants can pick the one's they feel are encouraging.

def111:
your opinion is not encouraging to people applying for first timers

Remember these VO's are human and have their bias.
Anything could have led to the refusal, I am only giving my own opinion.

def111:
sorry to quote,.. so you mean a married woman can't travel without her husband and let the husband take care of the kids ?. looking at what she say, the VO have already rule her case before the interview start.. truth to be say some VO are not fair with good traveling experience and tie they will refuse you without no mistake on your side
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by KaptainAfrika: 12:14pm On Mar 01, 2017
1. The fact that your husband did not attend the interview, probably raised a red flag. The VO probably felt that you are trying to use your husband as a tie to your home country, and that he would attend another interview once you got your visa.

2. How did you brother move to the US? If he illegally entered the US, that too could be a red flag.

3. The VO probably is concerned about the welfare of your kid, who will take care of him/her when you are gone?

4. It could also be that the VO does not feel the purpose of the trip, is necessary. How about you say you are representing the family from Nigeria, since all the family can't attend the wedding anniversary - this is an example, simply state the truth but more detailed.

All the best.

ruth87:
Good day wonderful people, i have been a silent reader of this thread and I commend you all for the advise, I went for the interview on the 22nd of February 2017 At Lagos but Was denied despite the fact I have all that was stated on the 214b paper
I am 29yrs old lady married with a kid, work and earn 350k, I applied for visiting, the interview goes thus:

Me.. Good morning
Vo.. Good morning
V. O.. . Where in US are you going
Me.. ..Atlanta Georgia
V. O.. ..purpose of going
Me ..Visiting my brother who I have seen for 4yrs ago and his celebrating his 20th wedding anniversary
Vo. .. Travel Experience
Me.. Paris with my family on vacation
Vo. . What do u do
Me.. I am a banker , I work with bleep bleep bank

That was all And I got a white paper of refusal
Dear gurus in the house when u talk of ties which am I lacking here or something I didn't get right?

PS my husband and I filled the form together with truth purpose plus hubby and I could not attend because his leave wasn't approved.
How about reapplying in March since the20th wedding anniversary is April 15 plus my leave for this purpose has been approved ?
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by KaptainAfrika: 7:53pm On Feb 28, 2017
the primary purpose for the visa application is the conference. the secondary purpose is to visit family. mention both with well-detailed explanations for both.

cally26:
Good afternoon all. Please i need your advise on this. I wish to attend a 3 day conference in New york, and afterwards, visit my relatives in Texas for 5days (my duration of stay was indicated 8days in my form). I hope this will not be a problem for me on my interview i.e. indicating both conference and visiting on the same trip or should i just stick with CONFERENCE alone?

would really love to use this opportunity to visit them, its been really long.

Hmm something is off, about some of these questions oh. undecided undecided undecided
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by KaptainAfrika: 12:39pm On Feb 25, 2017
What has changed since you last applied, that's the question. We don't know you, so how do we even begin to tell you what to say?
- have changed your job?
- have you gotten married?
- do you now have a child?
- has your salary increased?
- are you ready to come clean, if you lied in your previous interview?
those are some of the questions you should ask yourself.

daddiesfood:
please why i am after this is because i have another interview on Monday and i know he may ask the same question because he told me if i got the question i will go with my visa but if i fail it, my condition will remain the same.... please send me your phone no as to call you ... help please

That was the question being asked.
Only you can answer that.

daddiesfood:
Hello friends, please can someone put me through to this ... i attended my second interview and the last question was, what is my LIFE CHANGE after i was refused the first visa in my first interview? please i need your urgent respond to this.

1. Applied for US Visa in 2014...you said you are married to Mr A
2. Applied for Canadian visa, and you said you are married to Mr B
3. You won't have to be worried, if you were consistent with your marital status. If you can defend the inconsistency, then you have nothing to be worried about.
4. Yes they share information, expect an email from the Canadian embassy, all the best in your defence of the different marital status.
5. If your response to the Canadian email isn't satisfactory, your US Visa might be revoked too.

kokorita:
Pls house help me out. I applied for usa visa 2014. And I told them am married. I got the usa visa and I travelled . Renewed my usa visa and I still got it. Presently I applied for Canada visa and I told dem am married. But not to the same man I told usa embassy. Please will Canada embassy verify my marriage status at usa embassy. Or will the embassy do me a mail. Am just worried. Cous when den asked have you been married before I said no. Because it was just an enagement then. No legal documents to prove my marriage den. But now I provided all the necessary documents cous am official married and we did court wedding to. Please house will the verify. And will did affect my application.

What is humility?

What is spiritual maturity?

What is sacrifice?

What is service?

What does it mean to be Christ-like?

You and I know what these means, but I thought if Pastor "Robust Reply" knows the meaning of these words.

Consular Officer go through these forums. And use these posts as training for their Visa Officers. They also use it to look out for visa applicants. Let us encourage honesty at all times, some posters are undercover agents. Better safe than sorry.

Your example would have been valid. but you have a prior history of travelling to the US even as a kid. If you can't stand people's opinions, you should not be on a forum where opinions are requested for, no one is a VO here. If you feel you know what's up go ahead and do what you want to do and leave the forum for those who need assistance. If its none of our business what you want to use the visa for, then do yourself a favour and don't ask for any assistance.

MsTiitii:
My dear, I am not working and I got my Visa. Everything depends on how you communicate. I might have been lucky because I have been traveling to the US since I was 11. But I was asked if I was working and I replied No. the VO then proceeded to type some stuff and gave me my white paper after a minute. EVERYTHING has to do with God's favor. And it's not your business what she intends to use the Visa for, if you are so bothered then you should take up a job with the CBP or National guard.

"He keeps typing and typing and says im sorry you need to build your strong ties. You can reapply anytime and he keeps looking at him with a pitty eyes. "

My opinion: this is the same statement as written in their rejection letter.

"VO: Why are you traveling to america?
MF: I'm attending a conference"

My opinion: The answer is too weak, very weak. How about this format instead? "I am attending a conference on X, as it will help in Y and give a better chance in promotion in my organization, Z" - you could also add any truthful info. that you feel will show the importance of the conference to your line of work.

Classified60:
Good evening my nairaland people.. I was at the embassy today to cheer up a friend who had is interview this morning 9 am. Oh boy too manybpeople were denied in between the hours of 7 to 11am even mh friend was denied because did not have strong ties. The visa interview goes thus..

Vo: What do you do?
MF: I'm an accountant
VO: Have you traveled before?

VO: what's your salary?
MF: 400k monthly
VO: How hold are you?
MF: I am 29yrs old "going to be 30 next month" he helped him to complete it.
Vo: Are you single
MF: Yes i'm single

I apologise in advance for the major derailing from the theme of this forum.

God has given everyone freewill. You maybe over-qualified for a visa and not get it, you might not be qualified for a visa and get it.

These things are trivial things (visa application), tell me more about the "unmerited favour of God" when one survives a disease that the best doctors say is incurable, or an accident that no one was meant to survive.

There are countries, where a US Visa interview is just a formality.

I believe in the unmerited favour of God, but I know He grants it in more important matters, than a visa to visit a country, whose citizens made sacrifices in the past to make their future better.

In Christianity, satan is also known as the "god of this world", so when the fraudsters and liars, say "it is all god" or "it is god"...we should know its not the God in heaven but the "god of this world", the father of lies, that they are thanking.

Now that's off my chest. i wish all honest applicants, success in their interviews.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by KaptainAfrika: 5:40am On Feb 21, 2017
I think more people will get visa's especially as Donald Trump is taking illegal immigration very seriously (the idea would be that, you won't want to stay back, with the knowledge that the Feds are coming for you). He has already passed an executive order to deport all illegal immigrants, regardless of criminal acts or not. But then again, who wants to lose 54,400 naira in this regime of sai change. grin grin grin

barnaby04:
Hello house,

Have been wondering of late the cause of the drastic drop in transcripts in this our noble house and I begin to ask myself, are people no longer travelling or visiting the US Embassy ni or is it that this recession and fear of losing 54,400 within a twinkle of an eye has made people to slow down on their travelling to the states? Abi the fear of President Donald Trump and all these his gragra EO's on immigration don scare our people from going to uncle Sam's country?

I was checking out interview dates some days back and guess what, you need to see how very close dates were just springing up as first earliest dates like calls girls in a competition for suitors. Some were just three days away from the day of checking at the Almighty US Embassy in Lagos that a times, the closest date you could find for lagos will definitely be a month apart from when you were checking! It was then that I realised the reason why transcripts no longer fly left, right and centre so often here again.

Biko my people, we need your transcripts here so as to keep the ministry of this Nobel house moving.

God bless and grant all visa applicants unmerited divine favour in their visa interviews.

Nothing you can do. Get a printout of the form and go for your interview and study it. You don't need an agent for anything. It is assumed that you filled the forms yourself.

Amiableada:
good day house. please Dh and i are a bit confused and will need opinions on what to do. i renewed my b1/b2 isa via drip box and was emailed to pick up my passport and schedule an appointment for an interview. i filled the forms and all through an agent, only for me to contact him on the infos he filled out and he said he put NY as POE whereas i am going to ATl, he also put that i am staying for 2 weeks and going for vacation.on finding out i was mad at him because i specifically told him to let me know if he needs any answers. now my interview is next week, i have my dr's correspondence from atl and all. we r confused as to what to do.

He'll forever regret that action in eternity angry angry
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by KaptainAfrika: 3:52pm On Feb 17, 2017
Oh this is so wrong. Don't bother please. Here is a possible remedy. Give birth here in Nigeria, when the child is a year old, apply for a tourist visa for the both of you, go for tourism purposes and then on the next trip, have the next child. Unless you can spare visa fees, don't reapply even after 3 months.
- 40 days was a red flag. To reappear saying you want to give birth, after that interview, would be another red flag. Now your husband I guess is a US Citizen, another red flag (maybe, maybe not).

1. Travel history - A
2. Salary - A
3. Length at place of work - A
4. Marriage status - (Not an issue, but if you are engaged, you should mention that in the interview)
5. Length of stay in the US - A

Well, unless the VO feels that you will abscond, there is no way you won't get the visa. Just smile, be polite, look into their eyes and let them know if your sister wasn't in the US, you won't even bother being in their embassy i.e. be confidence/confident.

know what you filled in the form, and fill it yourself.

All the best.

Lyoncrescent:
My sister in law is graduating from Yale Uni in May and she invited me with an invitation letter to attend her graduation though she also said her school insists it is not required for visa application. I work for a Federal Agency and earn 350k per month. Been working in this Agency for four years and i had my masters degree in the UK. I also visited the UK for vacation few years after my Masters Degree. I will be paying for my flight and accommodation and intend to stay for one week if i eventually attend her grad. However, i am weighing my options whether i should apply or not as i am not married and i dont know if that alone may disqualify me as not having enough ties. I really want to go for the Grad but being rejected based on marital status or the monthly income is my major concern. I know they dont often check statements or pay slips but this thread has proved that self evaluation is better so one doesn't waste visa application fees. Please advice.

No documents will be checked as they believe we are master forgers.

Why are you going to X? Here is where many make mistakes, this is where you should clearly state thy strong reasons for chosing X.

What do you do?/What are your roles and responsibilities? Here again, paint yourself in good light and don't repeat in verbatim what you filled in the form, just expantiate on what you filled in the form, position yourself in a way that your role is vital. If you are a housewife, say you are a housewife, don't lie.

How much have you budgeted for this trip? here is another place people make mistake, i don't know where you are going to, but $5,000-$6,000 is reasonable. Your salary should be able to match this. So you cant be earning 100k and say $5,000-6,000; is your budget.

Smile, look into their eyes and make them feel like you have other places other than the US that you would like to go to, but you just picked the US and that they should be happy i.e. be confidence/confident.

All the best.
