I just thought we should all check this out, NAIRALAND is going places... ![]() http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4123156/Health-tourist-s-350-000-bill-paid-NHS-crisis-case-mother-flew-Nigeria-birth-two-twins.html |
Constructive criticism has its place in Christianity, maybe you don't know, but Apostle Paul publicly criticised Peter (whom Jesus declared to be the rock, upon which the church would be built and the first pope!), and Jesus did the same for the Pharisee and Sadducee of His time. I know you won't read this with an open mind and without bias, I am only replying you, for the benefit of those who are reading this thread. 1. Money is needed to do a lot of things, in this current dispensation, yes. I never said Christians, who have money, shouldn't use that money for the promotion of God's kingdom. I am saying, we should not copy the world, in the way and manner we advertise our events. Or do you think it is okay, to have false promises as a means of attracting people to church? Driving a limo, in the mind of the carnal mind, indicates that if i join this church, I too will have a limo - is that what the gospel preaches? the gospel is beautiful in itself, without the gimmicks. 2. When I said we shouldn't copy the world, I never said we shouldn't use mediums of communication such as tv, internet, radio etc. I mean there should be a clear distinction between a Christian advert and a secular advert. DAVIDO uses attractive women to sell his events, should the church not use the only thing that distinguishes us from the world - THE GOSPEL, to promote its events? should a man of God now drive a limo around town, to draw men to church? Preach the gospel on top a wooden box, in the market square and those who will be saved, will be saved by the power of the Holy Spirit. 3. "Wisdom is profitable to direct" sure we use the mediums of communication to effectively evangelise, but we do so while depending solely on the power of the Holy Spirit, to convict men of their sins, without appealing to their carnal desires such as desire to have material wealth at the detriment of their eternal souls. greatmen: |
I don't see anything wrong in places of worship paying taxes. I am sure we all want, what's best for the country. So what's the big deal. Reason it. You pay taxes. I would agree that we don't really see the results of paying such taxes, but some of these taxes are the salaries of government workers, so at least you are paying someone's salary. So what's the big deal... |
So basically you are stating that we should copy the world in terms of advertising, the same world we are trying to save from damnation? Let me ask you this question: If MTN goes on air, and promises new subscribers that buying an MTN SIM will guarantee them, crystal clear network and people buy MTN sims because of that advert. But instead of crystal clear network, they have a bad network. What do you think happens to the MTN Brand name? In case you don't know, the MTN Brand name will be associated with lies. If you can not trust the Holy Spirit to minister to the people you are trying to reach, and you feel that you need to appeal to their fleshly desires, you my friend are no different from Sarah in the bible, who wanted to help God give Abraham, a son. Or the man that stretched out his hand to hold the ark of the covenant, when it was about to fall and was struck dead by God. Trust in God 100% to touch the hearts of those who you are trying to reach or get off the pulpit, God doesn't need your limo or your gimmicks. greatmen: |
Why does the Nigerian church keep doing this? Doing the work of the Spirit by using the power of the flesh. What is the point of the message you preach, when what you promise people, if they come to Christ, is available outside of Jesus Christ. The last time I checked there are sinners, who can afford and already have these things you promise your congregation - money, health, happiness e.t.c How about we focus on the one thing, sinners don't have - salvation and a reassurance of peace with God in the afterlife. The gospel is powerful in itself without recourse to fleshly means. When did material possession ever become the yardstick of walking right with God. I think this limousine stunt is aimed at those, who want God's blessings and nothing else, no change in their lives outside of material possessions, no change in their inner nature, just their outer appearance. God should be your greatest desire, pant after His presence like a deer pants after the stream. |
1. You are married. You went on a vacation to Tanzania with wife and kid. But you are now going to the US, alone. 2. The answer to "why are you going to America?" was weak. "I shall be going on vacation, I wish to see xyz bcus xyz and xyz 3. If it is your first time in an interview. It is taken into account and you are not judged by that i.e. stuttering. 4. Houston, Texas is usually known for childbirth and not vacation. bouncin04: |
Yes they do. A guy lied about being refused a US Visa, and it was stated as one of the reasons, he was denied. ifyseun: |
Here is a wonderful Idea, if you have been successful in your visa application and you are asking for help, please quote your transcript when asking for help, or tips you used when you applied. And if you haven't posted your transcript or your tips, please do that, before asking for help. Lets do MMM for help - PH and GH. ![]() where PH - Provide Help and GH - Give Help |

Did you read what I wrote? "JUST WAR" is defensive in nature. It is not offensive in nature, that is, you don't attack first, but in response to an attack, you defend yourself. The purpose of this defensive action, is to stop an attack, with the result that the attack is stopped. Research World War 2 and see if what's happening in Southern Kaduna isn't similar, not in the number of casualties but in the context of potential genocide. I hope you will defend your family, if they are attacked, I really hope you do. It is never okay to kill anyone, because you didn't give them life in the first place. But what will you do, if you are being attacked, or if your family is being attacked? Ubenedictus: |
This friend that has the power to stop and start visa processes, please report him to the Lagos consulate office, ASAP. ZennyOlabode: |
They were not sick, when stealing, they didn't faint, when plotting, they didn't pant, when spending... They will be alright, when cutting grass in kirikiri prison... |
Let settle this issue by referring to the theory of "JUST WAR" in Christianity as raised by St. Augustine "JUST WAR" is defensive in nature. "JUST WAR" means to prevent evil men from prevailing over innocents. In that case, Christians can engage in a "JUST WAR" to defend their families against evil men. e.g crusades and the second world war. What Christ is against, is revenge; when evil men come to attack you, defend yourselves and inflict injury upon them to achieve one of the following - evil men sue for peace or they are totally annihilated. An eye for an eye is different from stopping you from taking my eye. One reactive, the other is preventive. Nigerian Christians won't act, all our messages appeal to our selfish nature. If selflessness was a theme in our churches, Christians would have mobilised to offer aid and protection in many places, where Christians are killed but hey, fighting your mother you abandoned in the village, and fasting for US Visa, is more important. Finally, it is foolish to wait for government to save you. Did government put food on your table? toast your wife? impregnate your wife? pay your kids school fees? so why do we wait for government? take up arms and defend your families, its that simple. |
1. 3 weeks is too long. The US is not a cheap place to be. It's reasonable to a week to 10 days. 2. How about you apply after you are done with your undergraduate studies? then you can say, as a graduation gift, my aunt and her husband invited me to accompany them, to the U.S and my mum has given her consent. (the answer you gave, probably made the VO think, when your mum is free, she should travel with you, after all she is your mum) 3. Don't apply too soon, you will look a desperate person. holysinner01: |
If the pregnancy isn't visible, you can take that risk. But what do you say, if you are asked by the CBP, if you are pregnant? finegirlna: |
1. Have your baby here in Nigeria. 2. When you want to travel to the US, for vacation, apply for a Visa for your child. You may be asked if you are pregnant or if you would want to use the visa for any other purpose other than vacation, be honest. 3. You may or may not be asked why you didn't go for your vacation, be prepared to give a reasonable answer, backed up by evidence if possible. 4. When you have gone for the vacation, to fulfil all righteousness, send a letter to the embassy, that having gone for vacation, you would want to go for childbirth (this should be after ur child's visa application and the trip to the US for vacation). 5. This is the safest bet. Though its up to you, take the risk. TimcyWhyte: |
So how will you know the response is not sincere... ![]() Before burning money on US Visa, do a self-examination... What will bring you back to Nigeria? aka What are my strong ties Why am I going to the US? this determines the type of visa, you will apply for. Where am I going to in the US? Why am I going to that place in the US? Honesty is the best policy. driversconnect: |
I think the defence of "I wasn't asked, if I was pregnant" only works if you have used the visa, for the initial purpose but if you haven't, it will seen as a lie. You may be lucky, but in your next renewal it might cause problems. papi7: |
Don't risk it. You most likely will be deported, have your visa cancelled and be banned for 5 years permanently. I don't know why you didn't travel as indicated in your form, but it will be seen that you lied at your interview and hide the fact that you were preggy. Remember Trump will be in power, and immigration policy will less likely be forgiving. If you send that letter. You may be called to the embassy and your visa cancelled. TimcyWhyte: |
Abeggi this one suck manhood...ahahan see her nose... |
1. Do you have a visa? 2. If yes, have you used it for the purpose, you applied and obtained it. 3. If yes, no need for any letter. papi7: |
For them, the only thing Nigeria is good for, is to be buried in its soil, everything else has to be gotten abroad. Playa0ne: |
He should have been buried in Germany na. Shey they have better medical facilities, than the one's in Nigeria. Therefore, their soil is better than the one in Nigeria. It's hard to have sympathy for people, who when they were in power, did nothing to improve the lot of their people. Nigerian politicians, a word is enough for the wise. |
It won't be bad if wikileaks can ehmm 'accidentally' hack into the US Embassy in Nigeria and leak the reasons, why the VO's deny people. ![]() |
the letter isn't necessary (neither does it carry any weight again), so long as you have used the visa, for the purpose you mentioned at the interview. Simples. have a safe trip. papi7: |
Did u apply alone? When asked if you have a kid, so long as the kid hasn't yet been born, the answer is no, if you say yes, where is the birth certificate? You get? Have you been rejected before? Why are you going to the US? My brother is getting married (very weak answer, better to have said, you are representing his family from Nigeria in your brother's wedding and that you guys have been close since childhood). I hope your brother is in the US legally? vitus101: |
To all VO's who will ever interview you, you always intended to have your child in the US. Why didn't you just use it for the purpose you collected the visa for (maybe vacation, conference etc.), then you would have been in the clear to have your child in the US later. Did you send the now worthless 'change of intent' letter? These guys value honesty, which is quite hypocritical, when you realise the lies that they themselves will tell to further their national interests. At your next interview, explain why you didn't you use your visa for the purpose, you applied for. Show you paid all your bills and hope for the best. chi1145: |
Ooops! When asked why you want to go to the US...please let them know there and there. That you intend to have your kid in the US and that you made a mistake and applied for B1/B2 instead of B2. You may be rejected but when you apply again, it will be noted in the system that you had made this declaration. You may not be rejected but all the same you would have been honest. Never use a company bank statement as your statement If your husband is sponsoring, let him use his own personal bank statement. A month to your interview date, should be the last time money enters your account, that you can't convincingly defend, for example, if you get your salary two days before your interview, you can defend that. Get your bank statement, a day before your interview. ALL THE BEST. Renee25: |
Alternatively. Colonize the corner of one area, preferably near where the sockets are. Make sure you carry adaptor, you will make many friends through this (your new friends, will come in handy, when nature calls and you need to leave your kingdom). Frown your face at anyone trying, to waylay your little kingdom. Keep your hand luggage as pillow or as leg rest. Invite a fellow Nigerian, to discuss things only a Nigerian will appreciate. OR Book first class or business class ticket and enjoy the lounge, we shall all reach there, amen. LadyGuinivere: |
