Constructive criticism has its place in Christianity, maybe you don't know, but Apostle Paul publicly criticised Peter (whom Jesus declared to be the rock, upon which the church would be built and the first pope!), and Jesus did the same for the Pharisee and Sadducee of His time. I know you won't read this with an open mind and without bias, I am only replying you, for the benefit of those who are reading this thread.

1. Money is needed to do a lot of things, in this current dispensation, yes. I never said Christians, who have money, shouldn't use that money for the promotion of God's kingdom. I am saying, we should not copy the world, in the way and manner we advertise our events. Or do you think it is okay, to have false promises as a means of attracting people to church? Driving a limo, in the mind of the carnal mind, indicates that if i join this church, I too will have a limo - is that what the gospel preaches? the gospel is beautiful in itself, without the gimmicks.

2. When I said we shouldn't copy the world, I never said we shouldn't use mediums of communication such as tv, internet, radio etc. I mean there should be a clear distinction between a Christian advert and a secular advert. DAVIDO uses attractive women to sell his events, should the church not use the only thing that distinguishes us from the world - THE GOSPEL, to promote its events? should a man of God now drive a limo around town, to draw men to church? Preach the gospel on top a wooden box, in the market square and those who will be saved, will be saved by the power of the Holy Spirit.

3. "Wisdom is profitable to direct" sure we use the mediums of communication to effectively evangelise, but we do so while depending solely on the power of the Holy Spirit, to convict men of their sins, without appealing to their carnal desires such as desire to have material wealth at the detriment of their eternal souls.

greatmen:
in other words The king James bible that was printed just fell from heaven, the churches, out reaches, crusades, TV programmes and missionaries that brought the gospel to Africa their funds came by magic?! they had no Godly sponsors, crusades that spread the gospel like the Billy graham, Bennyhinns and the rest do not cost a dime or my people perish for lack of knowledge the world system as you say should keep on buildings satellites and sponsoring tv channels, media houses including the platform we are on, while the church should sit down in a room and pray for the gospel to reach the ends of the earth without any action, the so called world system is doing a good Job leading millions of souls to hell each day because the enemy uses brilliant minds and ideas that God created and is manipulating it for he's Kingdom. maybe the disciple who buried Jesus and paid for he's tombstone was following the world system which by the way was very expensive to aquire a tomb, keep critising people using their 2loaves and 2 fishes or their wealth to promote the gospel while billionaires world wide are buying space satellites Internet platforms that promote their own agenda smh!
Christianity EtcRe: "Super Rich Churches That Do Business Must Pay Tax" – Sheikh Abdur-Rahman Ahmad by KaptainAfrika: 4:06pm On Jan 15, 2017
I don't see anything wrong in places of worship paying taxes.

I am sure we all want, what's best for the country.

So what's the big deal.

Reason it. You pay taxes. I would agree that we don't really see the results of paying such taxes, but some of these taxes are the salaries of government workers, so at least you are paying someone's salary.

So what's the big deal...

So basically you are stating that we should copy the world in terms of advertising, the same world we are trying to save from damnation?

Let me ask you this question: If MTN goes on air, and promises new subscribers that buying an MTN SIM will guarantee them, crystal clear network and people buy MTN sims because of that advert. But instead of crystal clear network, they have a bad network. What do you think happens to the MTN Brand name? In case you don't know, the MTN Brand name will be associated with lies.

If you can not trust the Holy Spirit to minister to the people you are trying to reach, and you feel that you need to appeal to their fleshly desires, you my friend are no different from Sarah in the bible, who wanted to help God give Abraham, a son. Or the man that stretched out his hand to hold the ark of the covenant, when it was about to fall and was struck dead by God.

Trust in God 100% to touch the hearts of those who you are trying to reach or get off the pulpit, God doesn't need your limo or your gimmicks.

greatmen:
I don't get how does a rally with a limo become an issue, cocoa cola, Pepsi etc spend millions billions on marketing and sponsorship, even devilish concerts endorsing musicians that lead people to hell, the kingdom of darkness is using its wealth to promote and change policies world wide to damn souls, Mr please in the last days it is written the mountain of the Lord shall be above all others and the Nation's shall run to it, the church will be bigger in all spheres we will dominate this dark world, we will be a becon of light. Imagine how Saudis and their wahibism sponsor terrorism worldwide to promote islam and kill people, what nonsense!!!
Christianity EtcRe: David Ibiyeomie Uses Limousine For His Awareness Rally In Port-Harcourt (Pics) by KaptainAfrika: 3:42pm On Jan 15, 2017
Why does the Nigerian church keep doing this? Doing the work of the Spirit by using the power of the flesh.

What is the point of the message you preach, when what you promise people, if they come to Christ, is available outside of Jesus Christ.

The last time I checked there are sinners, who can afford and already have these things you promise your congregation - money, health, happiness e.t.c

How about we focus on the one thing, sinners don't have - salvation and a reassurance of peace with God in the afterlife.

The gospel is powerful in itself without recourse to fleshly means. When did material possession ever become the yardstick of walking right with God.

I think this limousine stunt is aimed at those, who want God's blessings and nothing else, no change in their lives outside of material possessions, no change in their inner nature, just their outer appearance.

God should be your greatest desire, pant after His presence like a deer pants after the stream.

1. You are married. You went on a vacation to Tanzania with wife and kid. But you are now going to the US, alone.
2. The answer to "why are you going to America?" was weak. "I shall be going on vacation, I wish to see xyz bcus xyz and xyz
3. If it is your first time in an interview. It is taken into account and you are not judged by that i.e. stuttering.
4. Houston, Texas is usually known for childbirth and not vacation.

Did you read what I wrote?

"JUST WAR" is defensive in nature.

It is not offensive in nature, that is, you don't attack first, but in response to an attack, you defend yourself. The purpose of this defensive action, is to stop an attack, with the result that the attack is stopped. Research World War 2 and see if what's happening in Southern Kaduna isn't similar, not in the number of casualties but in the context of potential genocide.

I hope you will defend your family, if they are attacked, I really hope you do.

It is never okay to kill anyone, because you didn't give them life in the first place. But what will you do, if you are being attacked, or if your family is being attacked?

Let settle this issue by referring to the theory of "JUST WAR" in Christianity as raised by St. Augustine

"JUST WAR" is defensive in nature.

"JUST WAR" means to prevent evil men from prevailing over innocents.

In that case, Christians can engage in a "JUST WAR" to defend their families against evil men. e.g crusades and the second world war.

What Christ is against, is revenge; when evil men come to attack you, defend yourselves and inflict injury upon them to achieve one of the following - evil men sue for peace or they are totally annihilated.

An eye for an eye is different from stopping you from taking my eye. One reactive, the other is preventive.

Nigerian Christians won't act, all our messages appeal to our selfish nature.

If selflessness was a theme in our churches, Christians would have mobilised to offer aid and protection in many places, where Christians are killed but hey, fighting your mother you abandoned in the village, and fasting for US Visa, is more important.

Finally, it is foolish to wait for government to save you. Did government put food on your table? toast your wife? impregnate your wife? pay your kids school fees? so why do we wait for government? take up arms and defend your families, its that simple.

1. 3 weeks is too long. The US is not a cheap place to be. It's reasonable to a week to 10 days.

2. How about you apply after you are done with your undergraduate studies? then you can say, as a graduation gift, my aunt and her husband invited me to accompany them, to the U.S and my mum has given her consent. (the answer you gave, probably made the VO think, when your mum is free, she should travel with you, after all she is your mum)

3. Don't apply too soon, you will look a desperate person.

1. Have your baby here in Nigeria.

2. When you want to travel to the US, for vacation, apply for a Visa for your child. You may be asked if you are pregnant or if you would want to use the visa for any other purpose other than vacation, be honest.

3. You may or may not be asked why you didn't go for your vacation, be prepared to give a reasonable answer, backed up by evidence if possible.

4. When you have gone for the vacation, to fulfil all righteousness, send a letter to the embassy, that having gone for vacation, you would want to go for childbirth (this should be after ur child's visa application and the trip to the US for vacation).

5. This is the safest bet. Though its up to you, take the risk.

Am so so confused right now my lovely people. Am so scared as well. Different opinions scattering my head and my head. If am to use it for the purpose it was gotten then the Xmas holiday has passed now. And more also. Am preggy now. Does that mean I should now have my baby here. Then later travel for the purpose of which was issued before. Or in should just declare at the POE that am going for Birth and Vacation. Then when am back, will still try and use it to travel like twice before it expires. Then I can now do renewal later on. By so doing they might not remember the first initial travel. Then might just do Dropbox after some years. What do you guys suggest I do please.

So how will you know the response is not sincere... undecided

Before burning money on US Visa, do a self-examination...

What will bring you back to Nigeria? aka What are my strong ties

Why am I going to the US? this determines the type of visa, you will apply for.

Where am I going to in the US?

Why am I going to that place in the US?

Honesty is the best policy.

I think the defence of "I wasn't asked, if I was pregnant" only works if you have used the visa, for the initial purpose but if you haven't, it will seen as a lie. You may be lucky, but in your next renewal it might cause problems.

papi7:
Make sure u don't travel to anywhere but Philly but u can travel to another state after ur first trip. Did the VO asked if u were pregnant and u said no? if that is the case, that isn't look good but if HE/SHE didn't ask, u can claim u weren't asked when u went for ur visa interview when thE question comes up at the POF. All that matters is grace of God. x
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by KaptainAfrika: 10:33am On Jan 12, 2017
Don't risk it. You most likely will be deported, have your visa cancelled and be banned for 5 years permanently. I don't know why you didn't travel as indicated in your form, but it will be seen that you lied at your interview and hide the fact that you were preggy. Remember Trump will be in power, and immigration policy will less likely be forgiving.
If you send that letter. You may be called to the embassy and your visa cancelled.

Hello Everyone. Happy new year. Please this is my first time in this forum. Am in a state of dilemma now and please need your urgent response and honest advice. First of all, my hubby and I applied for B1/B2 visiting visa for the Xmas holiday for the first time but something came up and we couldn't travel again in December for the Xmas.though I was pregnant during the interview but was not even asked any question apart from where I am working of which I told them. But they asked my hubby most of the questions but didn't ask if I was preggy. Though had my letter of correspondence with me and all other documents incase they asked if I was preggy so that I can show them but they didn't even check our document. And now we planning to use it to go for the Easter holidays in April and also to birth that same period since I will be due in may this year. Please my fear now is do I need to send a mail to the embassy as regards letter of Change of intent? Secondly if I send the mail, will they reply me back and if they do, what is there response gonna look like for those that have done this before. Will they ban one after receiving the letter of change of intent? Or better still I just travel like that then I will declare at the POE that am preggy and coming for vacation and birthing. But will this affect me later on when am doing Dropbox later on. But after this trip we intend to still travel more within the two years they have given us before it expires. Please kindly help a sister in confusing state right now cos my head is really banging. I will be really grateful. Await your advice.Thank you

When asked if you have a kid, so long as the kid hasn't yet been born, the answer is no, if you say yes, where is the birth certificate? You get?

Have you been rejected before?

Why are you going to the US? My brother is getting married (very weak answer, better to have said, you are representing his family from Nigeria in your brother's wedding and that you guys have been close since childhood).

I hope your brother is in the US legally?

To all VO's who will ever interview you, you always intended to have your child in the US.

Why didn't you just use it for the purpose you collected the visa for (maybe vacation, conference etc.), then you would have been in the clear to have your child in the US later.

Did you send the now worthless 'change of intent' letter?

These guys value honesty, which is quite hypocritical, when you realise the lies that they themselves will tell to further their national interests.

At your next interview, explain why you didn't you use your visa for the purpose, you applied for. Show you paid all your bills and hope for the best.

Hi everyone, please I am new here and i have a few questions to ask...my family was issued a US visa early 2014 and when the visa was issued I wasn't pregnant, I had scan results that proved i wasnt...in mid 2015 I went to the US to give birth. In 2016 we decided to do a drop box to renew our visas but we were called to appear for another interview explaining why I stayed almost 3mnths. myself n my husband appeared and I told the VO I had a baby and the VO did not give any chance for us to explain futher and dint bother to check my Dr's report (showing the med issues I had)....to summarize it all, our renewal was refused on grounds that the visa B1/B2 was used for a wrong purpose and she asked us to go apply again as freshers....my question is "what are our chances of getting the visas again?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by KaptainAfrika: 2:08pm On Jan 09, 2017
Ooops!
When asked why you want to go to the US...please let them know there and there. That you intend to have your kid in the US and that you made a mistake and applied for B1/B2 instead of B2.
You may be rejected but when you apply again, it will be noted in the system that you had made this declaration.
You may not be rejected but all the same you would have been honest.
Never use a company bank statement as your statement
If your husband is sponsoring, let him use his own personal bank statement.
A month to your interview date, should be the last time money enters your account, that you can't convincingly defend, for example, if you get your salary two days before your interview, you can defend that.
Get your bank statement, a day before your interview.

ALL THE BEST.

Alternatively.
Colonize the corner of one area, preferably near where the sockets are. Make sure you carry adaptor, you will make many friends through this (your new friends, will come in handy, when nature calls and you need to leave your kingdom). Frown your face at anyone trying, to waylay your little kingdom. Keep your hand luggage as pillow or as leg rest. Invite a fellow Nigerian, to discuss things only a Nigerian will appreciate.

OR

Book first class or business class ticket and enjoy the lounge, we shall all reach there, amen.
