TravelRe: Giving Birth In Canada by KaptainAfrika: 12:30pm On Mar 17, 2017
First thing, you will need to have family in Canada. I don't if this is the official policy, but some folks mentioned it here.

1. Awww...you said you have travelled thrice to the UK, she was probably looking for the entry and exit stamps for the three trips.
2. She was probably checking to see if the visa was genuine.
3. You have strong ties. How about reapplying in April? In the "why were you refused a visa", say 214b and briefly state the mistake you made.
4. Too many "conferences". "VO; What's the conference about" = describe the conference and connect it with how it advances your career.
All the best.

Cryptolady:

jenny2007:
Hello everyone,
Hope you lot are having a good day. It will be very ungrateful of me if I don't give a feedback on this forum concerning all that I have learnt here and how it has helped me in achieving my international travel goals.
First of all, I want to say thanks to every one that comments on here and posts their interview experience - those approved visas and those denied. I learned a lot about why the approved visas were issued and why the rejected applications did not sail through. I have been a silent reader on the Travel page on nairaland right from when I applied for an S.A visa last year. That was right in the middle of the Xenophobic attacks last year. I read the S.A visit visa pages and applied for my visa last year, with prayers and faith I was issued a visa. Now fast-forward to this year. I only applied for my U.S visit visa last week. Just in one week I read page 1- page 346 of this U.S visit visa forum. I prayed and fasted, made sure I was applying for the right type of visa, I read this forum like I was preparing for Bar Exams (lawyers), etc.
I advise that anyone applying to stick to whatever info you filled on your DHS-1 form. My appointment was for 7.15am today and the blue paper was been giving like free sweets to many but God favoured me.
Anyways, here goes my Transcript (nb: its my 1st time applying). I was interviewed by a White Male who hardly smiled

V.O: Good Morning
Me: Good Morning (with a smile)

V.O: Can I have your Passport
Me: (Passed it to him and he started typing fast)

V.O: Why are you going to the U.S?
Me: I wish to attend the NeoCon Event in Chicago Illinois... (V.I cuts in )

V.O: What's that? (NeoCon Event)
Me: It's a conference on Interior Designing

V.O: Ok. What do you do?
Me: I'm a businesswoman. I own a company called blah, blah, blah. We are into blah, blah, blah! (He was typing all through)

V.O: Have you travelled outside your country before?
Me: Yes i have actually been to the U.K, Dubai and recently South Africa. (He was going through my passport and spotted my previous S.A visa. Then he spotted my Old Passport and told me to hand it over. He glanced through my UK and Dubai Visas, including Stamps from my previous West African Countries trips to Ghana and Togo)

V.O: When was the last time you travelled to the UK?
Me: I studied a Diploma in Law over there between 2001- 2003 and came back home to do a full degree in Law (i studied law but I'm an Interior Designer)

V.O: (Stretching his right hand to collect the mighty white paper) Madam, your visa has been approved
Me: (Smiling) Thanks very much.

Guys, my travel history helped me. Also, the conference I am attending is completely related to my job. I was also very bold and relaxed. Thanks to God almighty and you lot. Best wishes to everyone still trying to get through the process. May God favour you IJN.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by KaptainAfrika: 1:56pm On Mar 15, 2017
1. How old are you?
2. How long has it been since your last application?
3. There are no good responses. Your response has to be reasonable to the VO. You can say I want to see snow and the VO will say "that's good enough for me". You have to think of a strong reason for going to the US for Easter holiday, and why you are going with your dad and not your mum as a family.
4. What will make you come back to Nigeria?
5. Why are you applying for a tourist visa, after applying for a student visa?
6. Why are you going for just five days?
7. Are you in the process of getting a BSc. ? If you say the VO felt that you can easily get a BSc. then, most likely he has made a note against your name on the system.
Try answering these question as though it is the VO that is asking them, it will help you in formulating your answers, because those are the one's you will remember and it will flow more naturally in your interview. My opinion.

nikiihardehx:
Hello everyone,
I was refused F1 student visa last year, cuz the vo thought there isnt any point foing for an associate degree why i can easily get a bsc.... Even though it was a private college.
, now i planned to apply for b1/b2 visitors visa, want to go for easter vacation with my dad, just for 5days though. He has good travel history and has also renewd his US visa, have also been to the UK.
#The main purpose of the visit is for easter vacation and also use that opportunity to visit some schools, make enquiries and all.
#The question is do you think the vo wont misunderstand my intention,
#what good response do you think i can given when asked why am applying for b1/b2 and not the f1 i was applied for
# plus i have 2 expired, and 1 valid UK visa
And i have as well been to the UK before

Dear friends and fellow intended and intending travellers...

- know the cost of a two-way ticket for where you are going to.
- know the current and usual weather conditions of the place you are going to.
- do not lie. at the interview or in your form. if you make a mistake, gauge the seriousness of the mistake before requesting to retrieve the application. small mistake - name of your street...catastrophic mistake - your date of birth.
- always complete the form, before booking an appointment, not the other way round.
- pregnant women, apply for a medical visa or just give birth here.
- if you are not pregnant at the time of interview, go for vacation and come back later for childbirth.
- the cash at/on hand at the POE is what matters.
- you may be asked what has changed since you last applied.

I just thought I should share some of these nuggets with everyone.

How about you get some work experience first? well, you maybe lucky. Have you travelled out of the country before?

Dont mind Abike Dabiri.

The stories I have read are one kind. A man travelled with $300 on him and $3000 on his cards. A total of $3,300 and he said he has friends in the US that can help, him raise more cash if needed.

The other one travelled with his pregnant wife and kids. Did they apply for medical visa, or used a visa first for vacation and then go for childbirth in the US, it is never stated.

But as soon as one person says they were mistreated, Abike goes on the air and starts giving advice.

Oh lest I forget, in South Africa, Nigerians are actually being killed. You have nothing to worry about in the US POE, so long as you can defend yourself clearly.

I find this to be inconsistent.

If it is the government that's behind the apostle's ordeal. Why is the police, an apparatus of government seemingly eager to charge the woman, to court so eagerly? and attempting to get a judgement that would be in favour of the apostle.

But you skipped number 2 and 3. grin

But you do understand my analogy?

If you are a bookworm and you can't afford to buy books, you would probably go on-line to download books or read books, or go to a library to read books. Who will put himself in debt because he is a bookworm, that loves reading.(seriously anyone that loves books so much, that he will put himself in debt, I hail O! LoooL) grin
On the other hand gambling is a destructive addiction, it has destroyed families and relationships, careers and reputations...it has lead to court cases and worse, suicides.
In my analogy, I am a gambler in a debt that I can't pay, I am about to lose my freedom and this kind stranger offers to pay my debt, all he asks is that I go and gamble no more, therefore saving myself from the same situation.
I can accept his offer and regain my freedom and take steps to be free from gambling and be a better person and live a better life or choose to go to jail and pay for my gambling addiction myself.
You sir, have chosen to pay for your gambling addiction. So how can you say God isn't just, when He simply grants you your wish to pay for your own sins, by yourself? grin

BinDean:
1) YES.
2) am not a gambler & for the gambler, i hope he enjoys & proud of what he does best & thats all i hav regarding ur gambler's case.. take this: i love reading alot which makes me a book worm though i dont hav enough money to buy me lot of books and i resorted to borowing money to purchase lot of books,,& blink twice i found my remain stumbling on d gallow of dept..I found myself in ur gambler's shoe & d kind man presents to me ur suposedly golden offer...but to me am a book freek, i lov it, i enjoy it & am proud of what i've become: a book worm. so i just do not fancy the offer..so i choose to go to jail with sense of passion & fulfilment than crawling to d tune of presure loopholes of life circumstances..so i reject the offer & i choose to read to the cost of going to jail...the gambler would surely do same if he is true enough to himself. answer: No, i would rejec his offer.

God is just and fair. To worry about what will happen to those, who lived before Jesus came, is to be distracted from the current dispensation we are in. This is the equivalent of running a race, and looking at a far away runner and not focused on the track you are on. If God is just and fair, we don't need to unnecessarily worry ourselves about certain issues. The bible says "...won't the judge of all the earth, do right?". Genesis 18 vs 25.

Earthrealmlord:
I enjoy reading on Nairaland as a guest but choose to register because of
your question and will most likely not again after this .

Based on your question i noticed a lot of Christians do not read or understand the bible.
I know most questions like this are born out of MISCHIEF and i sincerely hope you are not trying to .

To get the desired answer to your question you MUST ACCEPT a good answer as a CHRISTIAN
and not reason otherwise, else you are definitely up to something which is called DELIBERATE MISCHIEF.

Also you must understand that the Bible is prefect but made imperfect as a result of different translations,
( AUTHORIZED OR UNAUTHORIZED) thus we have different SECTS of Christian and different understanding all Professing
to be genuine and creating a lot of confusions, so you have to see beyond all this folks to get a good answer.

Mankind was no longer the same after the flood

THE ANSWER ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE PRINCIPLES

MAN FELL IN EDEN AND LOST IT

SOME VERY FEW WHERE CHOSEN BEFORE AND AFTER THE FLOOD.

All those who died in the bible before the coming of Christ are DIVIDED INTO TWO CATEGORIES (FROM ABRAHAM)

1. THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL (JEWS)
2. THE NON CHILDREN OF ISRAEL (GENTILES)

1. THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL (JEWS) : All those in this category are destined to go to Heaven
after JUDGEMENT IF THEY OBEY/OBSERVE THE LAWS (currently where ere they? is an argument
for another day but all agree on a final destination after judgement which is HEAVEN)

2. THE NON CHILDREN OF ISRAEL (GENTILES) : All those in this category are destined to go to Hell
after JUDGEMENT because they are not CHOSEN therefor the law was not given to them.

what happens to those that lived a good life in the second category e.g
BALAAM son of BEOR (Numbers 22 and 23)

ANSWER IS

Tho there were used by God and some even prophesied but the were not a CHOSEN. (Matthew 22:14)
THAT is why he Died with the other 5 kings (Numbers 31:cool

BY THE PRINCIPLES OF THE BIBLE AND HAS A CHRISTIAN

ALL GENTILES ARE DOOMED, THANK-GOD FOR THE GRACE YOU GOT THROUGH JESUS AND DAILY TREASURE THAT SALVATION
BY WALKING WITH HIM IN FAITH AND OBEDIENCE TO HIS WILL FOR YOUR LIFE.

WHO ARE YOU MERE MORTALS TO QUESTION THE DECISION OF GOD

Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

1 Corinthians 2:16 “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

Isaiah 45:9-12 “Woe to him who strives with him who formed him, a pot among earthen pots! Does the clay say to him who
forms it, ‘What are you making?’ or ‘Your work has no handles’? Woe to him who says to a father, ‘What are you
begetting?’ or to a woman, ‘With what are you in labor?’” Thus says the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and the one who
formed him: “Ask me of things to come; will you command me concerning my children and the work of my hands?
I made the earth and created man on it; it was my hands that stretched out the heavens, and I commanded all their host.

Romans 9:20 But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder,
“Why have you made me like this?”

Job 38:1-41 Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said: “Who is this that darkens counsel by words
without knowledge? Dress for action like a man; I will question you, and you make it known to me.
“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measure
ments—surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? ...

BUT IF YOU STILL SEEK ALTERNATIVE ANSWERS THEN YOUR SEARCH HAS JUST BEGUN AND YOU MIGHT NEED TO CHECK OUTSIDE THE BIBLE
which implies you are no longer using the BIBLE HAS YOUR STANDARD and therefore means you only profess to be a christian

GOOD LUCK IN YOUR ENDLESS SEARCH OF UNAVAILABLE TRUTH
Christianity EtcRe: What Will Become Of Those Who Have Died Before The Birth Of Christ? by KaptainAfrika: 1:02pm On Mar 06, 2017
Oh no, its not wrong to ask questions. But when you ask those questions, be fair enough not to pre-judge an answer, look at the answers given without any prior bias - I believe this logic you wish to apply.
1. If what Jesus Christ said is true, would you believe it?
2. If man did not have freewill, then God would truly be unjust in punishing us, because it wasn't our choice in the first place.
3. If justice isn't one of God's primary characteristics, then we should be genuinely worried about those who died without hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ or even babies who died before becoming born-again. God is just and will deal with each of us, fairly.

Take this analogy.
I am in great debt due to gambling and other vices, so great, that my creditor has taken me to the supreme court of the land. I am about to be sentenced to jail, when a surety rises from the crowd and says "I will pay this young man's debt, provided he goes and does not engage in the same gambling and vice that put him in this situation".
My creditor is shocked but still wants me to be in jail, the judge hits the gravel - "Mr Creditor, I see a stranger has offered to pay you back your money, in all fairness, I don't see why your debtor should still be sentenced, do you wish to forfeit the huge amount of money, you are owed?", my creditor replied hesitantly, "no, my Lord".
The judge turns to me, even though this stranger has offered to pay my huge debts with conditions attached, I can decide to go to jail instead than accept his offer, after all I might not want to give up the life of gambling and other vices.
"Young man, are you going to go to jail or will you accept this stranger's act of mercy?" the judge asks me.
If it were you, what will be your response?

BinDean:

I see you have skipped 90% of what I wrote, and gone to the parts where you think, is most weakest.
I have seen your response too many times. You wish to live your life with no moral point of reference, greater than yourself. You wish to live your life as you wish, thinking there would be no consequences. The thought of a supreme being, and a set of moral laws is like a cage to you. Yet you subscribe to the same moral laws, that you wish to free yourself from. How do you know what's right or wrong, how do you define what is horrendous and not?, and why should I or anyone outside of your pseudo-universe abide by your definitions of right and wrong ?!
I sincerely hope you are not one of those atheists, that believe nothing made something out of nothing, and that we are here for no reason and its all by chance.

Yes and No. Yes, when he/she becomes 18 and begins paying his/her taxes. No, as long as the child is under 18, he/she is considered your ward and if you are not a US Citizen, you can't access medicare or medicaid - if you do, you may not be able to renew your visa.

Hi guys,

i have been reading about this topic and forum for sometime and my wife shared some before we had our baby in Texas.
But what surprises is that people hardly talk about midwife birthing and i wonder why.

Midwife or Water birthing is cheaper for non complicated pregnancy, non first borns etc
The good thing about it is the midwife clinics are linked to some specialist hospitals incase anything happens
but you only use it if you are sure your pregnancy is not complicated.

My wife did not use it because pregnancy was complicated but had wholesome information while trying to look for something cheaper
but the hospital we used was quit ok in terms of price.

My advise for those having babies abroad, have seen threads where people say no need to carry out test due to cost, PLEASE!!!!!!!
DO THE TEST, what is the point of spending $7,000 to give birth and you cannot do a $150 test? or what is the point of having the child under sophisticated equipment and you bring the child to naija to come fix hearing problem or jaundice or any other child birth issues, when the child can even be fully attended to. Infact once you child is fully registered as a US citizen he begins to enjoy benefits. SO HELP YOUR CHILD AND HELP YOURSELF.

Cheers....

No Sir.
God has seen that the end for all sinful mankind was eternal separation from Him.
So He sent prophets to warn humanity, but these were mocked and killed.
Finally, He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ - believe in Him, repent, go and sin no more and eternal life was the end.
God is love, love sacrifices, love never forces itself on anyone - I have had a sad experience where the one I loved, told me upfront, that she only went out with me, out of pity; it hurt, why? I loved her and I was expecting that love to reciprocated...God loves us so much, but He will never force us to love Him back. If He did force us to love Him back, we would be nothing more than robots, God is not a rapist and will never force Himself on us.
So yes, He is all-knowing, but He loves us so much, that He respects even our decision to spend eternity apart from Him. It griefs Him, when a man takes His last breath and instead of returning home...descends to the place that was made for satan and his angels (it was never meant for the souls of men, in the beginning).

Hello everyone,

Thank you for always giving us genuine info, i'd like to seek your advice.
I'm an Audio Enginerer and I've been working for a church in Lagos for Five years now, there's an audio Enginering conference (4days) that i want to register for all expenses paid by my senior colleague in US(ie he's sponsoring me).

What are my changes of getting a visa for this conference considering I've a virgin Passport, i am single?

Thanks for your kind response

If you need to "package" your application, then don't reapply.

Hello guys, i applied for a US Tourist Visa last year December but was denied. the Visa officer said he was not convinced i was going to come because i stated that i have relatives in the state am going to who are also US citizens. Now i want to re-apply but this time for the purpose of attending a conference.
please i need good suggestions and advice as to how to package my application and also asking if my last application can have a effect on my current application.
