Fiscus105: What's total number of young guys working in KPMG and oil company in Nigeria? Compare to nurses that scatter all over the country.
If a young lecturer is too small to marry nurse who will now marry nurse?
Nurses that are being married to pry school teacher on weekly basis.
The way you guys leaving completely outside from reality is worrisome. Perhaps, your low status or age is affecting your reasonings. Baba, read to understand. I never said lecturers are too small to marry female medics. I don't even see anything special about female nurses and doctors, or any female medics. The point I'm making is, lecturers are not high level professionals. They are average earners at best, and their profession is not so great as well. |

Creamypie: Dr, associate prof, prof Before you become a doctor, you'd probably be married so the chance of a female medic marrying a Dr. or vice versa is very very slim. Besides, professors in nigeria hardly earn more than 400k. A young boy in KPMG or Oando would double their salary probably at entry level. So no, lecturing is not high professional career. |

LilMissFavvy: He definitely will plaster the floor. He feels annoyed that after he spent money making the shop better, the landlord doesn't give him peace. Majority of landlords and landladies are hypocrites. Rather than addressing the ailments they ignore it and talk about the symptoms. The reason the guy is doing such is because the landlord/lady didn't treat him right or keep to his/her end of agreement. I support the fellow in this case. Let him remove his tiles. |

Tohsynetita1: Th That’s the rare fact, many of them see those guys outside their profession as someone that doesn’t worth their standard. Due to job challenges in Nigeria, many Nigerians does not really have a good job, if I say “good”,I mean job of around 150k monthly. Because of that they either look for people in their field, or look for those high profile profession like Lecturing, lawyer,Accounting, not knowing that the narrative as changed as it was before that those profession were lucrative and were valued in society of Nigeria. In Nigeria of today, a lawyer might not really make money up to a man that does POS, but because the job isn’t a white collar job or office work, most ladies in medicine won’t derive interest in such person even if the love is real. They have forgotten that true love matters and not considering any profession. On the contrary, those guys they are tripping for in their dept don’t really end up marrying them. Most of them don’t like them because they don’t really make good wife in “child upbringing “ Only few of them does. An average medical profession lady will be in hospital most time of her life, now if husband also does the same thing, who will nurture the children? So, that’s why most were either single till old age, I know a chiprotractor in Florida still looking for husband at 62 years, imagine! She has never married before and had no child. Some married wrongly because they don’t want to marry out of their field, and some that married were later divorced. That’s one of the reasons. The only part I agree with is some female medics eventually don't end up with anyone, because it is true. The problem is also in civil service and it's common in Nigeria too. That aside, all other things you stated are the men's issue because they already decided in their mind that a lady in a particular field is bigger than them. So it's basically a self esteem issue. I am surprised Nigerians consider 150k big money tho. No wonder this guy staying with us got married the moment he started earning 150. |

afroxyz: There is no problem with hustling. The problem is focusing on the hustle and not seeing the bigger picture.
It is poverty mentality that makes Nigerians focus on hustling when they get abroad. They forget money is a tool to have a better quality of life. Nigerians remember the money part, but forget about ye quality of life part. On your death bed you would cherish the memories and experince iver the money you amassed. Even your children would remember you through memories you created with them not houses you built. Physical wealth is finite and would fade. That house you are building will either be sold or go to ruins. Use money to increase your opportunities and improve the quality of your life. Nigerians don't get this Nigerians at home need to hear this the most. Most Nigerians are too anyhow in their relationship with money vs a good life. In short, many Nigerians are irresponsible and have no bigger picture. |
