Again , you are wrong but a blind man has some inherent ignorance. You chose to see what you want to see. Aribo made more back passes , actually
Another baseless ad hominem, like I said keep deceiving yourself. Aribo created chances for Awoniyi and Moses, had a couple of attempts on goal while Nwakali on the other hand created chances for Ekong and Omeruo to loop the ball into the opponents half. If that is your idea of coordination they suit yourself.

Aribo is the natural CM support for ndidi. He is the fulcrum around which that midfield turns..

We are yet to see Aribo's full attacking potential because he has been burdened with defensive duties..

One of Nwakali's weakness is his work rate. If you put him in the midfield with Ndidi, his work rate will always let us down and this maybe ignored if he created bucket loads of chances which I am not sure he will do either because he does nothing to boost the attack...
Well said, and these and the ones hammering on his "creativity" yet majority of his passes are backwards.

Well , that is one straight way of looking at it. You could also say your most gifted midfielder ( remember I didn't use best...you did , my learned man...lol) just happened play in the second division. These things happen a lot. Sometimes, clubs doesn't prove the quality of a player.

Take this case in point ; Iwobi has struggled in England for many years with nothing to show for his ratings but he is still there because he is English and our gifted Nwakali could not even get workers permit to play in England.

The other day Cc.Kogs45 was here defending the "sufferings" of Aribo....he said Aribo went through alot in life because he dropped out of school...I was shocked
Excuses, excuses and more excuses. Nwakali in second division is expected to be dominating the league but from his stats it shows he has been woeful. From creative midfielder to long ball specialist now you guys have switched to midfield coordinator which he is terrible at as well, keep deceiving yourselves.

Aribo plays a different style now? You do not expect them to have the same influence on games.

You want Nwakali to come and play box to box like Aribo.
Aribo plays box to box (specific) but if they ask you what Nwakali plays you'll start preaching and running round a circle, go and sleep you don't know what you'll talking about

That is not Eguavoen wants the player to always keep throwing long balls, even if the situation does not demand it.

Giving away possession repeatedly is not being in control of the midfield. We did that a lot.
You'll make a claim and once tasked to back it up you either start preaching or making generic statements. Someone had earlier pointed out that we had more possession before the messiah arrived but I'm sure you'll add preaching about movements or adding philosophy to talk your way out of it.

Scoring does not mean we were in control of the midfield. We scored based on our superiority in play but most times, in that window, we were under intense pressure. A clinical side would have caused us problems. That is a fact and I believe the coaching crew will work on it.
"Scoring does not mean we were in control of the midfield"- Good Joe 2022. At what point in the game were Sudan in control of the midfield before we scored?

Like I said earlier, you can't pin point a single productive thing he did during the game in the 25 minutes he played, the only one you remembered was a long ball to a LB and that says it all.

What are you saying? Passing back is to keep possession. The pressure we suffered, mostly before Nwakali came in came from unnecessary forward passes. That was due to poor midfield dictation.

Those sideways, backwards, and some forward passes is to keep us off pressure and improve our ball retention.

Ekong gave long balls that were directionless. Which meant, giving away possession. Which means handing over control.

Ha.
The poor midfield dictating yielded three goals, yielded more attempts on goal than when the specialist was on the pitch.

Please, learn to understand. I want a player that has the ability to dictate play with long balls from deep. Does not mean 90 minutes, he will be playing long balls. I do not need to do this but sometimes, I just need to spend time on the thread discussing basic points.

Nwakali showed the ability. The coach wants a player with the ability.

The coach did not say he expects the player, no matter the situation to keep playing long balls. It does not work like that. This is basic comprehension.
Another vague comment, Nwakali showed ability. Even Sadiq showed ability falling all over the pitch, you might as well term it distracting Sudanese players or buying time for the team, go and sleep.

You just said nothing. Then say I am running in circles. Funny.

Did Nwakali dictate play?

Yes he did. Despite us being against a compact side, he was able to give us a direction of play with his tidy short passes.

Did he give long balls? Not much because of the compact areas. Remember how many balls Ekong lost due to long balls. However, Nwakali showed the ability. I remember one to Sanusi.

Trying to mock the player does not score you points. Saying I am running in circles does not score you points. My points are clear. Yours is not.
The questions have been rephrased but yet no concrete answer, majority of his passes during the game were backwards putting the team under pressure. You remember Ekong giving long balls but not Nwakali, how convenient. Simon Moses also had one which lead to his goal, but the one you remember from the specialist was to a left back.

I just explained to you what dictating play is and how Nwakali dictated play all through when he was on the pitch. Yet you are asking at what point did he dictate play.

For real, read what I wrote and understand what dictating play is and how Nwakali dictated play.
Let me break down my question for you, was it in the 65th minute or 75th or 80th minute or 87th minute that you saw a dictation of play with long ball from him?

Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Karlovych: 4:50am On Jan 16, 2022
TheGoodJoe:

As you can see, you are just asking questions and have no statement of your own. You should have been able to say, he did not give long balls. But you can't.

Let me help you.

First of all, when Eguavoen talked about the long balls, he strictly talked about working against the press. That is when the opposing teams have many players attacking you in your own half.

With that, you have gaps for a player with long-range passing ability to spot the gaps and pick offensive players.

In this game, we had the Sudanese team come with a compact/counter system. With that, we did not have gaps to exploit. When Nwakali came in, he did not go on a long ball spree. It does not work like that.

However, there was a point in the game he gave a brilliant switch of play with showed his ability to give long balls. I think he gave that switch to Sanusi. It was sharp and tidy.

So, WHAT IS YOUR POINT?
You were the one that emphasized it was his natural skill set, a simple question are you are running about in circles. In order words he used his natural skill set of long balls and recycled it into ideal short passes backwards to his defenders repeatedly during the game and as such he more or less is a hybrid of Yusuf Ayila and Dickson Etuhu. It's no wonder he has zero goals or assists for Huesca and is a reflection of his productivity

TheGoodJoe:

Just say you do not understand what dictating play is and I will explain.

FLUIDITY

That was the statement he made.

He showed movement to open for passes. Gave the midfield an identity. That is, his presence took us from chaotic to controlled. He made the midfield tick with ideal short passes. He also showed some nice touches too and passing technique. For the time he had, I was impressed.

The bolded is what you quoted. I will use two distinct pointers there.

Identity.
Before Nwakali came in. Our midfield playing pattern was chaotic. Lots of stray passes and failed link-up play. With Nwakali on, his choices dictated what we were doing. Sideways passes led to us attacking spaces. Backward pass, led to keeping possession and also switching direction through the back. Our play became tidier.

Short passes.
This is key in dictation. There are times you just need to keep the ball due to a lack of gaps upfront. What this also does is to help pull out opposing players from compact zones.

So, I wonder how you can ask if Nwakali dictated play. He did.
Nwakali played the last 25 minutes against Sudan, this epistle is not what I asked you. At what point during the 25 minutes he played did he dictate the play or use his natural skill set of long ball.
