From my little knowledge, I believe that you will get an email giving details of the TB (face value, rate, interest, tenor etc). This usually comes on the value date so check the advert for the value date... EmmyBen14: Please can someone explain this to me, I bought some treasury bills through Stanbic IBTC bank although this is my first time, I discovered that the money was moved from my main balance but I did not receive the interest and the money that was moved did not reflect in my transaction details. As anyone experience this or is it how it works please. |

I do not expect any rate hike above 100 bp after the MPC. The stock market is cautious of the banks' recapitalization drive which may be the reason the banks are being ditched to go for TB/FGN Bonds. The picture will be clearer tomorrow... |

There are many 'theories'. The fact that the IOCs who play by the books are leaving the scene makes it easier for the LOC to 'flourish'. There is more than enough money (clean or otherwise) for private investments... Likewise, I believe that some of them might be feeling the brunt of subsidy removal because they can no longer manipulate figures to get free subsidy payouts. Anyway, I really hope OandO remains public... |

TRANSCORP Kwibaba: Vancanci and co;
I like your strategy and even if it might not be 100 percent on all stocks, it seems cool.
I would like to ask;
Let's assume you have 200k units of a stock at an average price of N13 and it's currently trading at N17. What will be your play if the company announces a right issue?
NB: you don't know the ratio of the issue but there has been a sell pressure on the stock in recent times pulling it from N20 to N17. |

We no want dividend. Sell at N27. picked some again today N20.8. (27-20.80 = 6.2)
N6.20 minus trade commission all inclusive = N6.05

I know. If the Fed govt could not do that for the international oil companies that contribute to our FX and GDP then what hope is there for OKOMU KayOn1: Not even the OIC's could secure a much lesser acreage. The company cannot do it. It is the Government's job. |

I share similar sentiment but it's not this easy... I once referenced the Niger Delta militants in this discourse. Would you honestly say that Shell, ENI, AGIP, TEXACO etc did not have enough money to get these things (security and CCTV) when the expatriates were being kidnapped every other day? Honestly, I hope the mgt of OKOMU can quickly tackle this before everything goes south. NB OKOMU oil plantations, rubber plantations, turbines, mills, etc are scattered on over 25,000 hectares of vegetation (maybe more). How many battalions of NA will be able to successfully cover such expanse of land It's a really sad situation to be in... ositadima1: If I were the management of OkumuOil, I would never give in to extortion. I would beef up security, install motion sensors and cameras on the premises' perimeters. I would employ the military or paramilitary to guard the establishment. I would provide living quarters for the workers and safe transportation in and out of the company.
The community should go and establish their own farm.
All this does not mean the host and neighboring communities will not receive some "corporate social responsibility", but it should be a voluntary decision and not forced extortion. Kilode!! |

These people are hungry and jobless opportunists. They can't afford 1000 units sef. They don't have any foresight else they would have made these demands from the onset (at least for negotiations). Now that the company is standing well, they want to use force... sterlingD: The thought occurred to me. Why not band their selves and buy the company stock and become major stakeholders if possible as the case maybe |
