It is treating BOTH GENDER (male and female) with FAIRNESS and JUSTICE.

The operating word here is EQUITY.

No one can fault that.

You dissolved equity into two more vague terms. Whose subjective view are we to resolve to in order to define fairness and justice

So why do you address gender equality as biological differences. Why do you say gender equality isn't possible when you are admitting it has already been achieved

This is not an attack thread but based on personal experience.

Came across some single moms who do abortion alot.

They kept their first pregnancy to draw public sympathy as "despite all odds, she kept the baby" etc

Subsequently they continue their reckless behavior and keep aborting with justification as "how can I have two kids without marriage" etc

It's really a sad trend.

Do you mean every single moms or some?

I get your point sir, but arent men made to be loved too..... if you say a lady is not strong, how do ladies endure pregnancy and painful childbirth? we both have our strengths and weaknesses. I don't think equality will do any of the gender any good. the world is like a two-plug engine, we need each other to function well and expand

Back to fundamentals. What does gender equality mean to you

I quite understand u but there is a limit to what they can do. Men are naturally and physically made to do rigorous stuffs. If you fire just one gun shot, all the women in my village will hide immediately but some men will come out to know what is happening and who fired the gun. Women are made to be loved.

If you were thoughtful enough you would have asked yourself what gender equality and rights have to do with physicality or cowardice. Because they have nothing to do with them.

Gender equality and rights are moral and legal entitlements concerning both genders with respect to family life work etc.

So a woman and a man can have the same voice same vote and right to work. It is that simple

I couldn't have put it better. Obasanjo has a presidential library and educational institutions of which a present governor has spoken how they are mandated to give for it.

We also have a former vice president who owns another university, and many former governors who use state resources for personal aggrandizement yet EFCC only has eyes on mama peace assets. It's all about the opposition.

This is not a valid criticism.

I see the case of Patience Jonathan as a witch hunt. How can the agencies overlook the numerous cases of elected officials and go after the lady? Did she hold any government office where it has been ascertained that funds were missing? Some former first ladies have built universities, some ex governors have private jets. Where are they not seeking forfeiture of those as well?

I don't understand your reasoning. A parallel of your reasoning is saying not one single armed robber should be prosecuted until every other armed robber is caught. It is absolutely ridiculous.

Besides the first lady had that much money without a job. It is clear that it must be the proceeds of corruption

The president lost the anti corruption war when it became a political corruption war. If he fought it genuinely, he would have made head way.

What does a genuine fight against corruption mean? Was he prosecuting and locking up innocent people for crimes they didn't commit or he is not throwing an equal proportion of his party adherents under the bus as well?

This kind of Slavery!

And if the next Northern president gets sick or passes away in power, we have to bend over backwards again just so the power hungry North gets power again and the cycle goes on and on.
And the annoying thing is that if you recommend a middle beltan as President, that same North would fight aggressively against it.

Isn't it time we all realize that producing the president doesn't add any benefit whatsoever to the region the president comes from.

Jonathan was president for 5 years yet his home state Bayelsa didn't an extra kilometer of road nor did it get a single percent rise in its HDI as a result of his presidency. Rather, Benin Ore road was fixed, Abuja-Kaduna rail was built, and a whole lot else was done elsewhere. The South South as a whole benefitted too little.

Obasanjo was President for 8 years, Ogun got absolutely nothing. Visit Otta and you'd understand the paradox. The roads to Otta is terrible. Obasanjo rather focused his energies on the Niger Delta.

Then Katsina state. The state has produced the 2 northern presidents who have ruled the country for 5 years in the last 10 years. But not a single industry, not a single infrastructure project, not a single improvement in HDI.

Isn't it time we realized that what we need is restructuring this country along the lines of the six geopolitical zones and having leaders in the mound of Ahmadu Bello, Awolowo etc all leading thier respective zones competitively?

There is no reason why Osibanjo should be prevented from contesting if his performance is on point.

Did the old system of regions work? No they did not because they were directly responsible for the descent into civil war

The bible say wisdom is profitable to direct. It also went further to say that obedience is better than sacrifice. In all of Sabo the boy chose the gutter by command fence to go and excavate sand as if that was not enough, he was asked to stop, instead of him to quietly leave there to another place, he started advancing towards the soldier. That not reasonable at all. The soldier does not have to wait for the unimaginable before opening fire considering the fact that thousands of children were in the school. He had to make a choice and a fast one for that matter.

I dont agree with your analysis because the force used was not proportionate. The soldier, armed with an assault rifle, was against a single unarmed man. The odds of a confrontation were heavily stacked against the unarmed man. So there was no reasonable threat against the school

Anyways... before sex could Happen, there has to be Some form of attraction established. Some lesbians enjoy penetration And some don't. They Just don't wanna be penetrated by MALES. get it? the penetration isn't the problem. it's the person doing it That is.

let's put it this way... Since sex is basically same thing, regardless of gender, would you love to get a mind blowing Blôw-job from a Gay dude? I mean, it's the same thing, right? grin

So, You see...It has more to do with Who's Fücking you than what is.

Your post is agreeable to a rational mind but in the animalistic fantasy and bare enjoyment of sex the act of penetration is identified and associated with the man. In the subconscious of the woman even if a plastic does that actual act of penetration she would perceive it as that of the man.

Were you there? Do you know how it happened? Can you prove in a court beyond any reasonable doubt that it was the mother that dumped her there? What did your holy books teach you about bearing false witnesses? I wouldn't expect you to provide any reasonable answer because you don't strike me as a bright person with all the nonsense you wrote up there. You have brains for a reason, try and be using it a bit.

In as far we are not indicting the person responsible, it is possible and more likely that the mother probably vulnerable as well is responsible. But what's more important is the debate about vulnerable single mothers driven into abandoning their babies. We can generate the facts to fit into a more pressing discussion on these women.

Yes, the world will be more sane if everybody takes responsibility for their actions. Fathers should stop dumping their babies in pit latrines. The other time in sokoto, the father threw his own child in a well, fortunately the baby survived. Why impregnate a lady if you can't take responsibility?

The expense people have made on condoms, contraceptives and contraceptive surgeries itself proves that people are willing to have sex and enjoy it but avoid the fruits. Sex is for the pleasure and for the satisfaction of the sexual drive within us. The baby is largely a by product

It is best we recognize the true needs of man and adapt accordingly.
Crime / Re: Newborn Baby Dumped In A Pit Latrine In Benue, Rescued By Good Samaritans (Pics) by Kay17: 9:17am On Jun 03, 2017
The paradox is the conservative society's shaming of single mothers that directly leads to dastardly actions such as these.

Yes these mothers ought to abstain from sex and intimate interactions with men but the society is only concerned with an appearance of abstinence. As long as nobody sees you and you don't bear the fruits of your misdeeds you have abstained effectively.

So I lay the blame on the footsteps of false morality

Well, technically, Nasarrawa cannot do much with their mineral resources cos the Fed Govt has exclusive rights to that... But I get your point though.

I stay in Oyo State and I know how desperately 'UN-INNOVATIVE' our leaders are here. No thoughts as to how to increase IGR, apart from taxes and levies. Osun gov could not generate anything reasonable from his state and he blamed the Jonathan administration for his inability to pay his staff cos according to him, Osun got the lowest allocation. Now, his party member is president and he can't complain about that anymore, yet, he hasn't paid salaries.
When Obasanjo starved Lagos of funds then, they had to think out ways to generate money.

I am a law student. I know the landmark laws and procedures that Lagos has pioneered in Nigeria. They seem to review their laws regularly and even though there's still a lot to do, they seem to be on their toes about it. But what do you see in Oyo State, Osun state, etc? Copy copy! Busy copying from Lagos... Without thinking!!! So it's in everything, not revenue generation alone. It's in law, education, infrastructure.... Yet, our own governors, commissioners don't think here. Why wouldn't Lagos keep leading?

I agree with you bro.... It would actually be unfair to think Lagos has anything to do with the failures of other states. I wonder if the Niger Delta people actually know that their governors receive so much commission on the oil explored from their states. Cos if they do, all these wailing would stop, and they would hold their governors to account for why their states are the way they are, and they would leave Lagos out of their issues.

What did you have in mind as from taxes and levies which a government can generate revenue from? Business?

Like i side this is an interesting topic and i agree with the writer wholeheartedly. Lagos has been Nigeria's bride for a very long time and this has affected the growth and development of other Nigerian cities. The only cities that have seen to enjoy some form of attention are Abuja because it's Nigeria's new capital and Port-hacourt because it's the headquarter of the oil industry. But i think right now, we have to blame Lagos less and put the blame squarely on the federal government which has refused to practice a true federal system where no state should be dependent on the federal government. That way the states will get creative and carve a niche for themselves. Right now, everybody is lazy because they get monthly stipends from the federation account. Lagos is lucky because it was already set for greatness before Nigeria started falling apart. So, it has used that unique advantage to grow even more than ever before. Ogun state is supposed to use it's closeness to Lagos to also create something for itself but the governments of Ogun state from Osoba till now have not been ambitious. The spill off from Lagos into Ogun state is just a natural phenomenon. The Ogun state government have had no hand in it. Since Lagos is becoming choked, it's only natural for people to spread out to where there's and.

I disagree with you in respect to true federalism. A true federalist system with resources and power diluted amongst the states would not be able to build an infrastructure suitable for inter state commerce. By infrastructure I mean rail road and air transport. Aside from that the laws governing inter state commerce ought to be central and uniform which promotes investment.

The reason Lagos is successful is due to its access to the sea. Considering Nigeria's horrid infrastructure and reliance on imports for everything, businesses and investors prefer being close to the sea as much as possible. But if there was an effective transport system businesses wouldn't mind spreading out for cheaper lands and workforce.

That is d more reason why states should be in control of their resources, which i believe would lead to healthy competition's among states

Nigeria has a natural resource oriented approach to developing a revenue base. Which is problematic on its own. Aside from that approach the states are not centrally positioned to be regulators of natural resources. It makes more economic sense to have a single legal framework for the exploration and exploitation of natural resources.

Why can't the Gencos sell directly to everyone without
passing thru the discos with their cut throat prices on estimations yet no power.

They should make it so that streets can buy it. Not just
companies or estates according to the new clause.

These Discos are the cabals especially EEDC but gradually they will loose their grip.

Anyway this is one little good move.

If it was pure water then that would have been possible but power generation is not pure water. It is reliant on a transmission infrastructure which itself is under the control of another entity.

It's a welcome development, it will make the discos more serious in service delivery. What it also means is that it will encourage embedded generation. If a company generates power for its usage in the factory, the excess is sold to discos to give the local community within the company, with this new development, the company can sell direct to the community. Moreover it will encourage power plants in communities and estates. Point of correction it will be difficult for gencos to sell direct to a far distanced customers because of transmission, unless they run a new line because TCN Owns transmission line. Another advantage is that the discos won't reject loads again, if they do so communities and companies now have alternative. There are still some legal tussles ahead because discos won't accept it, the license was given to them to cover a particular area and the new development will make them have dwindling revenue.

Captive power generation doesn't fall under GENCOs. A factory with excess power cannot sell to the community. They do not have that licence.

I think we on the same page if or not so far apart.

BH is a franchise run by islamic extremiststs and supported by traditional rulers, politicians, businessmen, global investors, media, anarchists in northern nigeria and even a column of the Nigerian army and government. It has an unknown central structure with multi arm means of operation like an octopus of sort. Shakau is just a spokesman probably hiding as far as Somalia/Sudan... if not further.

The issue of the chibok girls is one orchestrated design that was created by major players in Northern Nigeria political space at a time when the game play was to unseat the government. These girls were whisked away at night probably with the aid of top military brass men of northern extraction. (I believe squarely that boko haram has sympathizers in the Nigerian army at all levels. In their interest this makes army procurement top priority for any govt). Then a contraption was weaved to state BH had these girls while the girls were chilling in some safe haven oblivious of the game play. This was enough to create the right outrage

Fast forward to present, and this government having consolidated power, we are witnessing the end game of the chibok matter. Their plan is to create as much drama and smoke screen with this critical aspect of their agenda so it does not blow up in their face. This two videos released is pure propaganda and were directed by unseen hands that might not beactive insurgents. The dressing in military regalia is a complete give away coupled with the effects of the video. The words just empty but enough to send fear which actually make most people oblivious of facts.

The men parading in those pictures are just actors on a script to make the release of the girls as theatrical as it can be so at the end in the midst of all the fanfare, the truth will be buried

Is the above a hypothesis or speculation or the facts?

This video is complete acting and very stage managed... same as the other video with the said chibok girls holding rifles.

Someone is trying desperately to cover hos tracks and make the whole sham as real as it can be using fear and media.

What a script they are writing

Reminds me of the ironman 3 movie that featured the mandarin; who was being used as a terrorist actor meanwhile all he was, a junky articulaely bunked in a condominium

Your comments reflect your deep misunderstanding on the workings of BH. BH is a sophisticated well oiled war machine. They have departments for logistics, propaganda, procurement, planning and development, training, finance and funds raising. https://rampages.us/bokoharam/2015/07/12/leadership-and-organizational-structure/

They have hundred of cells spread out across Northern Nigeria which have shown resilience. So when the Army says BH is trapped within Sambisa forest it is untrue. Because their coverage is much more and beyond the forest. They are everywhere including Lagos doing lots of groundwork.

The swap might be remotely helpful in understanding how this elusive organisation works.
