A silent voice

Wasn't into slice of life all that much but this one changed my perspective. Good story telling and top-notch animation.

That's because it's not slice of life.

nani667:
🏆🥇

Nothing more beautiful than seeing Guel getting his flowers. All that character development wasn't for nothing

abduleez1:
Ehen, I thought I was the only one who thought him a villain initially.

Dunno whether I've seen him as a villain in one of the animation against Superman or it's a figment of my imagination.
Either way, Gunn is planning him for a Superhero. And he's stylishly setting up the team — The Terrifics. He's teased them before.

Could swear I'd seen a character with his kind of power either in Batman Beyond or The Brave and the Bold animated series as a villain

abduleez1:
Isekai is one genre in anime I've mostly steered clear from. I don't know why I don't like that genre and have a bias towards it.
I just have a feeling it's fantasy with absurd realities and those reborn hero bullshit.
If I see Isekai as genre of a show ehn...na Jakpa straight up.

The funny thing is Overlord has been in my watchlist for some time and at some point I've considered adding Mushoku Tensei. 🙃

If you watch no other isekai, try these 3 at least:

- Mushoku Tensei
- Youjo Senki
- Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash

During my IT period, I used to watch anime at work when there were no customers. The girl sitting next to me switched places with another guy (she probably didn't appreciate the genius of Stardust Crusaders). The guy she switched with ended up recommending Katanagatari to me.

Good times.

JoJo men had her feeling unholy feelings. She ran from temptations

Ji si Ike nwanne, with consistency and regular practice, you'd sure succeed. Just follow Oyaskii's advise.

The addictiveness is on another level, it's then you'd know 24hours is too small for you in a day.

Here's my last work for your perusal. I rarely post my work here nowadays, for reasons best know to me.

It's hard corded though. Every single details, even the animation. And no I didn't use any framework. it's all HTML CSS and vanilla JavaScript.

it's 100% responsive on all platforms.

https://pumafashion.netlify.app

You don go far for this thing, nwanne. I'll take a peek at the code when I reach house, make I learn one or two.

oyaskii:
😩😭😭 I would be lying if i say it gets easier, but with dedication and time you will get the hang of it. It's afte HTML and CSS that things tends to get rough. Find yourself the best materials, they are abound everywhere, and some are even free. If you feel a burnout, step away from it for a while and do things that gives you joy, and go back when you are fully motivated...all the best harmano 👍

Thanks, chief.

majesticguy:
WOW! Interesting. Is it the HTML CSS and normal Vanilla JavaScript or are you also into JS frameworks. The first two are very easy to learn, were you'd see shege is JavaScript. But if you're are consistent and determined, you'd succeed. Though the field is quite saturated ATM, if you are learning it, try and stand out otherwise you're wasting your time.

You're still learning the ropes right?

Front end web dev is very additive, as long as you know what you are doing, most times, i code for hours and even forget I've eaten. When I started initial, I code in my dreams. The obsession and addition was on another level for me, although it's not so nowadays. The joy of breathing life to UI/UX designs knows no bounds.

Currently in vanilla JavaScript. Hoping to get a good grip on it by next month ending and then move on to React framework.

It's truly addictive. I start working on a task and before I know it, 5 hours is gone.

oyaskii:
Oh...Valid... I remember when i was learning the ropes of JavaScript, and i couldn't get any other work done plus my head almost caught fire 😩.

Egbon, words of advice for a newbie because there are days I feel like I'm running mad 😭😭

Katsuki:
you aren't lying there tho
make i try am

ohh and im tryibg to start isekai
any recommendations

- Mushoku Tensei
- Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy
- Overlord
- Youjo Senki (The Saga of Tanya the Evil)

Omo na peak you dey roll with oo.

That Todo and Yuuji Itadori bromance for S1 still dey shack me. Na wetin make me no still delete the last seven or so episodes for JJK S1.

Todo x Yuuji bromance is peak character dynamics. The way Todo says, "My brother" or "My besto friendo" just dey off me everytime

Na Yuuji storyline I wan see now not Good Satoru.
I never feel the first episode.

But this JJK 0 was a nice deviation from S1 and was peak entertainment all through. The fight and storyline sef mad die. The Cinematography and graphics sef na joy to watch.

Gege Akitarou, JJK's author, definitely knows how to write entertaining characters and character dynamics. That's why I'm not really missing the main plot yet. Geto's dynamic with Gojo and Megumi's father's scenes keep me hooked.

abduleez1:
You never still watch peak JJK 0?? 🤯🤯

Actually just finished the first season of JJK the same day season 2 dropped.

abduleez1:

You talking about Calibrator? Right? 😂

Lol! It's his trademark phrase but I meant in general

OhBritannia:
Yes! it ended in episode 3.

4, actually. Not 3

oyaskii:
Thanks blud 👍. Btw, been seeing less of reviews lately, please, what changed?

Time. But mostly because I switched from ghostwriting to frontend webdev, so my writing time's minimal these days.

Katsuki:
free time is sunday
and it goes like flash lol
trying to do all the things you missed out during the week in one day
will get you about 3/4 episodes of anime watching 😅😅

3 or 4 episodes is better than nothing. In a month, you'll have finished a single-cour show.

oyaskii:
Maan... Asteroid City scares me. It feels like, if you have seen a Wes Anderson movie, you have probably seen them all and the fact that this didn't even last up to a month in theatrical run before the HD release makes me more skeptical.

I'll try and leave a review for this one, then. Might help with your skepticism

Weekend Watch List

- Asteroid City (2023)

Time to see what Mr Anderson has cooked this time.

- Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (2021)

Yuta Okkotsu gains control of an extremely powerful, cursed spirit and gets enrolled in the Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School by sorcerers to help him control his power and keep an eye on him.

Katsuki:
wait first
how do y'all busy peeps watch anime?

can't remember the last time i watched one because my ass works 12 hours a day 6 days a week
😭😭😭

You can make it a weekend thing, on the day you're free.

If you have an I-don't-give-a-Bleep attitude, you can catch an episode on your work commute.

During my IT period, I used to watch an episode after I wake up, provided I wake up really early, and another before I go to sleep, provided I wasn't too exhausted.

TLDR: Carve out a portion of your free time for anime.

nani667:
Season 1

7 / 10

So this is what Merlin has been up to

abduleez1:
So Kaycee7 refuse to give us update??

Didn't have much faith in it and I no wan make the blood of anybody MB dey chase me for night

abduleez1:
You say??
The few happiness for the movie even makes things more depressing after you've gone past those happy moments. The score sef dey depressing... imagine make animation like this wan make grown man wan cry, the score sef no dey help. If you fixate your mind too much on top the score you fit dey cry on your own sef. 😭😭😭

Guy, you no fit pay me to rewatch this movie. One of the most beautiful movies I've seen but e wreck me. Na this movie give me immunity against most tragedy movies.

abduleez1:
Grave of The Fireflies (1998)..... 8/10

Tells the consequences and effects of war through the lens of two orphaned kids.

Premium tier storytelling. Decent score. Premium tier depression as well.

Lies! How could a movie with scenes like this be depressing? 🌚

The wait is over, brothers. Tsukimichi returns Winter next year for a 2 cour run.

Love how they show that even among supernatural creatures, a talking head is an unheard of phenomenon.

abduleez1:
Hmmm 👀👀

Idan no dey do marketing. Na marketing dey do Idan

oyaskii:
They are 2 school of thoughts, the other being that the war could have effectively ended without the use of the Atomic Bombs albeit it would have taken a little longer. The use of the bombs was effectively down to Harry Truman's temperament and America being accustomed to winning wars in past with "an unconditional enemy surrender" and "dictating peace", and Uncle Sam's complicated relationship with the Soviets that still persists till this day. The allied forces lead by the Soviets were marching on the Fuhrer's stronghold, hell bent on bringing them to a total surrender, America needed a quick and decisive victory in the Pacific to even out this perceived "power balance" with the Soviets, Hence the "hasty" decision to drop Little Boy and Fat Man on Hiroshima and Nagasaki on the 6th and 9th of August, 1945.

The second clip basically mean the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings were war crimes but who was going to put a victorious world power on trial? The world has never been fair sha

Predestin:
As much as most of this reviews are subjective ehh there are some movies/ series that should be in your Top10 if not then you should probably stop watching anything one of themis "Lord of the Rings"

What if the person doesn't like the fantasy genre?
Omo! There is no single movie/series that will or should be liked by everyone.

Xtorm7995:
They are both creepy AF. At least with the severed head you can tell you are dealing with a supernatural being and might expect some measure of craziness but the other one is simply off the charts, the way she talks and acts, the bone skull eyes with 4 set of pupils along with the little girl exterior.

That scene where she described how she literally sees everything in 4K was hilarious.

The way she waited till the last second as the MC was being strangled to death in that phonebooth by the ghost not to talk of how she forces deranged ghosts into her various plushie dolls while strangling and torturing them for information and even keep alot of evil spirits bound inside her room to fight and feed off each other to get stronger ones that she will be using later on.

Watching both shows in the middle of the night every week as it drops will be a worthwhile endeavor.

She don terrorize evil spirits so much that they're now the ones running away from her
