Tmberwolf1: Well I tried to be civil, but it seems like a dog would have been much more deserving of that level of respect.... Please do carry on with your day.
I especially appreciate the part where you civilly labelled me a dìck rider first. Clearly one of the levels of respect to ever respect.
Tmberwolf1: I wish nairaland had a way to send voice notes, that way I could get my message across clearer, plus I'm tired of typing.... I think it's time we fans fight back, beloved franchises like Star wars, Star treck, Dr who, Lord of the rings, marvel, DC, resident evil, even live action remakes of popular japanese IPs like cowboy bebop have all been ruined by american cooperate identity politics... Now with disney trying to get their grubby hands on anime, it's only a matter of time before they do the same.... But at least we still have hope, the japanese hate Western influence on their media and would mount a big push back.... I hope I got my message clear
Wish you could send a VN though, they're easier to ignore. There are nursery rhymes with more variations than this song you're singing. You're basically repeating the same chorus I've heard a thousand times on the internet word for word. Wouldn't it just be easier to, you know, carry on and never mind me?
CoolUsername: Disney won't overplay its hand just yet. They'll first cut streaming deals with Japanese production companies. Once they corner the market, they can use their leverage to influence the industry. It would just depend on how much the anime industry cares about the western audience at that point.
True. The House of Mouse is clearly gunning for world domination. I'm not really worried about the anime front yet cos they've got some home-based and in-house problems that they need to fix, otherwise their house may very well come crashing down. They had a distribution deal with Ghibli back in the day, if memory serves me right, that didn't go beyond distribution. Here's hoping this Kodansha deal will be similar. But then again, we live in different times.
CoolUsername: That is basically what Sony's american office did to Japanese games, though. That's why all the 'cultured' games moved to the Switch.
Remember 4kids entertainment and the censorship in their dubbing?
I remember Cartoon Network and their censorship as well. But weebs were mostly watching subbed. So who'd this really ruin anime for? I mean, it basically says 4 KIDS. Might as well complain about the Japanese censored versions of ecchi shows.
I think it is completely valid to be worried about these western companies spreading their tentacles into the anime industry. Did you see the hit piece that Vice News did on the manga industry a couple of weeks back
Now what if I told you that Disney owns Vice News? This is what they think of us. This is what they think of the media we consume.
I'm not saying it's not valid to be worried. I just choose not to stress myself with things that I can't do much about. And the dude's post was a regurgitation of stuff I've already gotten tired of seeing on different platforms. So I said never mind me. Didn't know that would cause him to have a meltdown in my mentions.
So far Disney has handled the distribution of 2 anime shows I know of, Bleach and Summertime Render and that hasn't affected the quality of the viewing so far.
Only issue was with Summertime Render's release pattern, which is a similar issue Netflix and Amazon tend to have as well. And I completely understand if folks are worried about this.
At the end of the day, we mostly get our anime from pirate sites, so when Disney's influence starts to affect the quality of the anime on animepahe, then I'll worry. Until then, anyone who wants to lose sleep on the issue should, as I said before, carry on and never mind me.
Tmberwolf1: Copied what line? Wake up and smell the coffee?? In case you didn't know, that's an old saying... Dick riding what narrative? Disney's befouling of franchises is clear enough for the blind to see and obvious enough for the stupid to understand... It's just a pity that you fanboys are refusing to see the obvious
If you weren't dìck riding a narrative, you wouldn't rush to label someone a dìck rider or fanboy cos they're not drinking the same chivita you are. Only a fanatic believes that the point of view they've chosen to follow is the only correct one. Dìck ride and let dìck ride, as it should be.
AudioMonkey: Good question though, nonetheless don't get it twisted. There's nothing like first, second or more cycle of events. There's only a single cycle/version of timeline/event but there's possibility of different or multiple versions of a person/time traveller with multiple perceptions of a single event, thereby giving illusion of different cycles.
Jane was born and taken back to the past (1945) by an older and future version of herself after making out and being conceived by different older but past versions of herself.
Imagine if you had excess food two weeks ago and even threw away the left over. Now imagine at the moment you're a little short of cash and feeling hungry, you could go back in time to meet your past self two weeks ago and eat that food you threw away. If that were possible, it means, outcome of event last two weeks would have been different. No left over was disposed because a future version of yourself came from today and ate it.
The past, present, future versions of a single person creating an event on a particular timeline. And past, present, future all happening simultaneously. Then each version of the person experiencing the event differently.
Where or how did the different older but past versions of herself come about?
Tmberwolf1: Ignore all you want, be condescending all you want, the results will only vindicate me in the future... Heck! It's already vindicating me right now. Disney stocks down Netflix stocks down Warner brothers in massive debt Amazon's rings of power, a massive flop.. I can go on and on, only dick riding fanboys aren't seeing the decline.
Stocks go up and down every now and then. Companies also release poor performing products every now and then. But don't let any of that get in the way of your favorite narrative. Any company wey wan flop fit flop sha. No be my company afterall.
Tmberwolf1: The same way they ruined Star Wars and Marvel... Do you know the level of back and forth it took for them not to fu*k up bleach? They almost censored it because of the blood (disney has a no bloodshed or mildly extreme violence on screen)... It's only a matter of time before they start telling studios to censor, exclude certain things and include their woke agenda into their works
Conan really turned a car wash game into a serial killer simulator. And that rats chase segment made me just want to jump into the screen and grab the controller from him. Never change, Conan. Stay clueless.
How do you kick off your first War Games PPV on the main roster? You get the Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne to do the intro. I don't fück with metal but have to admit he did justice to the intro and War Pigs might get me to consider the genre.
I actually feel Team Damage CTRL should've won this to cement their dominance in the women's division. Unless they'll be using this to set up a Becky vs Ronda match, I don't really see the point of having Becky get the W.
Also, they should've had Bayley tease the table, then disappoint and mock the crowd. Then have Michin give the people the table they want. She could've used the pop.
AnfieldFan: The name of the song makes this so much funnier especially when you contrast it with why the film was released... I didn't know it was called Ancient Lamentation
Lol! Our lamentations were loud asf that year, before it now degenerated into the annoying wailing we currently suffer.
castro2468: If these day's you're bored af and don't know what to do, and you like studio Ghibli kind of art, do yourself the favor of watching Makoto Shinkai movies trust me.
As someone who loves Ghibli, Shinkai isn't doing it for me. I've never really managed to be fully immersed in any of his stories and so they just come off as ok.
The moment it was time for the second Bloodline member to join Jey in the ring, my gut knew it would be Sami. I saw Jimmy raring to go and just thought, "Roman will pull him back and send Sami instead". And moments later, that's exactly what happened. It's a great feeling whenever you correctly predict a great story beat.
gameboy727: I just rewatched ZS Justice League (for like the 3rd time, mainly because I was intrigued by the voices of Steppenwolf and Darkside) and I realized that Wonder Woman's action scenes are mostly accompanied by a 'oooo ooo' song. How did I not notice that earlier?
One valid criticism of ZSJL is the lack of proper music arrangement. Ancient Lamentation played way too many times than necessary. It got redundant really fast.
