When KKK states come with their results, that's when you'll understand. The North votes religiously since 1999, the South is just starting to collect PVC in 2023. Even at that, data shows that only Bornu state has more new PVCs collected than the whole SEast PVC collection.
On election day, North will stand in the sun for 2 or 3 days for their candidates. South will mostly be at home and online monitoring the results. They mainly use their PVC for ID cards and vote buying, MAYBE things will change in future. But that's how it is currently. So a serious contender will factor that in. Its like business, if you have many customers from North and they pay you money on time and even in advance. Meanwhile, your customers in the South always owe you money and beg and don't buy much. Which of them will you take more seriously? Will you be mr. all inclusive and impartial?
The North did not dictate Atiku for PDP, Atiku declared his intention just like others did. To me, Atiku and Tinubu should have stepped down for some of their younger boys but they did not. In fact, i think Tinubu might have stepped down(for Osinbajo) if Atiku didnot win the PDP primaries.
You can only stop being slaves to the Northern factors if after winning, the winner educates and provides jobs for the millions of poor northerners weaponized by politicians and the Northern Heads. If people are educated and have jobs and money, it will be harder to manipulate them. If we have basic things that we all have to pray and fast for(light, good roads, security, healthcare etc), it will be hard to hoodwink people using religion.
Before anyone can do that, you must get power first, and before you get power, you must "dance to the music being played".
