When a sitting President and his Vice (Obasanjo and Atiku) super-intended over an 18month strike of ASUU, (wherein students were left at home for 18months) , did nothing about the strike for 18months but used the Period to loot our money, acquire University licenses for themselves and both built personal and private universities for themselves (Bells University and ABTKU ), then we should all know that the destruction of public universities was a deliberate policy of those in Power and Authority, so as to foster the profitability of their own private university since they dont want competition.

If l were Buhari, l will SEIZE any Private university owned and built by anyone who occupied Public office in the last twenty years and convert it to public use, apart from massive funding of the existing, public universities

I understand your point but I think that if those schools are taken over they will eventually be run down. This is the big problem.

In the end, private unis will take over finally. The public school system is too backward and bureaucratic, and the people within the private system refuse to accept that there are problems talk less of fixing them.

Private schools cant afford such an Outlook and are always innovating. In 10 years Covenant will be the best University in Nigeria and nobody will be able.to argue.

The upper classes will send their kids to private schools and those classes are the ones that would have been able to fight for change in public unis. Public schools will simply be left to rot since the children of the elite will not be affected by any issues that they have.

He taught me algebra in 200level ...and I can say for a fact that he is the smartest lecturer in maths department... Ok the way I saw it is that FG has an amount they peg as what they will spend for subsidy. If the cost of the petrol goes higher, then they might not want to increase what they planned to spend on subsidy, causing them to reduce the amount of petrol they buy from him.

The way I calculated it, if there is that kind of political aspect to him being able to offload his product, that means that NASS who set budget can get in his way. This makes selling his product more complicated, meaning that it would make more sense for him to just sell to foreign interest who don't need NASS to approve what they will use to buy his product.

Does it make sense?

@ topic.... I fear sabotage. Refining oil is the money maker.... Dangote will now take away African market from Big Oil.... and cutting into their profit is war.

The way I understood it is that if Petrol costs 200/l to import, FG pays 50 out of it and then the sellers sell for 150.
However, if the price goes up to 250/l to import FG might drag their feet over paying 100/l subsidy leading to fuel scarcity. If FG does not pay immediately, and keeps paying that 50/l, then the supply available at official price goes down leading to shortages.

The foreign companies sell to us at market rate but the FG defrays part of the costs to reduce prices to the end consumer.

Or is my understanding wrong?

I am sure Dangote will simply export all the refined product from that refinery. For as long as there is subsidy he will not he able to sell for the maximum price in Nigeria so he will simply export the product and maximize returns.

There are different school of thought as to what is happening in Zamfara, some school is of the opinion that it's the indigene that is giving room for this problem by allowing themselves to be used by this negative criminal dudes and vice versa.

The root cause is the lack of supply to meet demand for hostels. They need to build more hostels and open up auction system for the existing ones.

I don't trust Nigerian army not to try to insert extreme Muslims into the army to further entrench Muslim control, but I think you are right that this kind of policy is part of ending any insurgency.

Even in Afghanistan former warlords are inside the army and have been given amnesty.

Planned Parenthood does not force anybody to use their services. There are a lot of contraceptive options that can reduce the demand for abortions. Republicans generally oppose policies that enable easier access to abortion-reducing contraceptives.

This thing is more complex than you think. Coming here to create a generalized impression that most right wing Westerners hate African immigrants is blatantly wrong. The assertion is also false.

What most of them hate is:

1) ILLEGAL immigration. (They want legal, controlled, merit based immigration).

2) The Left Wing tendency to push for open borders so they can keep importing new immigrant voters (since they usually don't procreate).

3) The Left's endless push for a multicultural West is a bid to weaken and diminish (or possibly eliminate) the influence of its Judeo-Christian cultural values. The left knows that with widespread diversity the people will never unite strongly against the government. Rather, due to mutual suspicion, the divided citizens will prefer to have the government as their sole arbiter in all areas of the political and socioeconomic life. This is one of the outcomes that the Left craves so much to see soon; hence their push for mass migration, open borders and demonization of nationalism.

But note that mass, illegal migration is not the only route the left is using to arrive at its agenda. They are also using immoral and amoral policies that go contrary to the principles of Christianity.

I am not surprised to see that religion has pushed Africans to embrace Republican dogma.

When the Republicans show the racist side of the party fully you'll see that religion alone will not save you.
