This was the same process I used to process 5 Meters from Ikeja Disco and everything was installed within 3 months.

Please do well to tell us how much u paid for the certification.

We don't work for Ikeja Disco, we work only for EKEDC covered areas and for u to say meter was installed in 3 months under Ikeja electric clearly tells me how much of a liar u can be because EKEDC is far more effective than Ikeja Electric in terms of metering and from your images here you applied on Jul 15 and meter was installed on Nov 2, which 4 months and that email is for your EKEDC application not Ikeja electric while ur claim of meter installation under 3 months is for Ikeja Electric. Finally, explain how u use EKEDC and Ikeja electric together.

We paid directly to them in the office .We did not go through any middle man .Its at the office in Bar Beach, that we were ask to pay money for contractor so as to ascertain what we consume .After which, we were asked to pay for acceptance fee .

The person who helped u with the registration here is already the middle man in this case, whether he is an insider (A Staff) or an outsider (An Agent) so by The virtue of that he should be solely responsible for the complete follow up on your work not u, considering the fact that u already paid him N25,000 worth of registration fee for 2 people, or maybe u applied for more than one meter, cos what we charge here is N10,000 per meter registration.

This prepaid meter application process is like clearing a car at the port, no matter how knowledgeable u think u are, u must definitely need an agent to do the job for u.

we sent the complete form and it was acknowledged by them . We were ask to pay N15,000 for contractor fee & N10,000 for acceptances or processing fee I can't remember . Form was filled and submitted online and it was acknowledge by EKEDP .

Sorry for this anyway but where is the person who helped u with the registration, they are supposed to be doing all the stress involved in this not u, and how come u spent a whooping N25,000 for the same thing we do for N10,000 yet u dnt get feedback from them. Let me assume am an importer that just brought in a Toyota Camry 2010. Please give me the CIF Value for this car, i already know the Duty rate is 35%. VAT is (1.38 X Surface Duty). Lets take Shipping company Fee, Agent Fee, Releasing & Gate Fee = N250,000.

All i just need from u is the CIF Value for that car, i'll compute the rest and add up where necessary.



You people should stop charging people exorbitantly naaa, we are all in this country together, things are hard, if u make like N50,000 to N100,000 or anything similar for clearing a car, that should be enough for u, not until u charge the hell outta this importers, remember they are also selling these cars to make profit.

I really need to know coz I've had such ugly experience with some agents and it wasn't funny at all. And finally, let me tutor u, before u call something scam, analyse it properly
1. Look if it has an address, try and confirm if the address is existing or not, if yes send someone or u go and find out if such product/services is truly available in the said address.

2. Seek others opinion on the subject matter to find out if such thing is truly going on or not, since i mentioned EKEDC u can go to EKEDC website, Facebook Page or Twitter Page to see if similar thing is happening or not, send them a mail asking for the procedure on how its done

3. There is a phone number in my post, try give yourself brain (Even though u cnt give what u dnt have) act like u really wana apply, call or whatsapp then check out the response to ascertain if this person truly knows what he/she is talking about

4. Ask for some evidence of previous work done, make further findings on that evidence to confirm if its a genuine document

Initially we used to charge N63,263.67 for single phase meter while three phase is N104,069.33 but since the commencement of the National Mass Metering Program (NMMP) we have removed the cost of the meter and also reduced the registration fee.

@Mayor555, I give my prices with valuations from similar vehicles we have cleared before with respect to PTML/Grimaldi Line which is where am based at Tincan Island, some people maybe at other places giving prices with respect to the shipping line that services there base at the port, it doesn't make their prices or mine wrong but as an importer i implore u to also know how import duties are calculated so that u can always get value for ur money, this knowledge helps u block loopholes where agents may be cheating u from, everything boils down to the valuation that will come from the custom and from there u should know what and what expenses to be made. You see all these prices am giving here, i dnt even know them offhand, once an inquiry comes in, i search my laptop for a similar vehicle we have cleared before and use the valuation to calculate the price based on current exchange rate and as an agent, we charge between N60,000 to N100,000 as agent fee depending on the model of ur vehicle (The newer the model, the higher the charge) Am not interested in any other money outside that agent money.

Take a look at this Toyota Highlander 2014 for instance

The vehicle was valued at $6,135 at an exchange rate of N326/USD (11/Mar/2020) But today the exchange rate is N381/USD

As an importer, always ask for this ($6,135) from ur agent, once u get it calculate things for urself, this is how its done
(6135 X 381) X (0.35) X (1.38) You will get ur total value at N1,128,981 then budget maybe N100,000 as shipping company fee (its not always up to that anyway, if there is demourage on ur vehicle due to delay at terminal u add that also which is around N3,000/Day but try and clear ur vehicle as soon as it lands terminal to avoid demourage charges. You can see with all of these ur vehicle will be cleared with N1,228,981 (excluding demourage) Then settle agent his own money based on the amount i quoted above (That's if am to clear for u) other people may charge differently. You can see with all of these, u wont be spending more than N1.3m clearing a Toyota Highlander 2014 as at today, But u importers will prefer an agent that will quote N1.6m for u offhand without asking questions as to how the N1.6m was reached, that way u are being cheated and am not ready for that type of arrangement, if am giving u bill, both of us will seat down and be calculating it on WhatsApp and once u are ok, we proceed, sometimes i even prefer just running the errands of clearing for u such that u pay on step by step basis as the bills comes from customs and shipping company and when we are done, u pay me my agent fee, am currently working on that.
