World’s oldest woman, Alimiha Seiti claims she was born on June 15, 1886. She lives in China and last Sunday, she celebrated her 131st birthday with some of her 56 descendants in attendance.

According to China News Service, despite her very old age, a local doctor Abdul Rusuli checked Alimiha Seiti over on her birthday and found normal blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
The Gerontological Society of China named Alimiha as the country’s oldest person in a 2013 report and a London body Carrying the Flag World Records recognises her claim to be the world’s oldest person.

Crime / ‘battery Is The Only Language My Wife Understands’ – Nigerian Man by Kayus4real: 9:32pm On Jun 27, 2017
A photojournalist accused of beating his wife to a pulp said on Tuesday battery was the only language the woman understands.
Francis Abiagan, an employee of Business Day Newspaper, said his wife of 10 years, Joy, had made life difficult for him since he brought his sick mother to their Ifo, Ogun State, residence.
A group, Campaign Against Impunity and Domestic Violence had accused Abiagan of beating and stripping naked his wife.
In a statement signed by the group’s spokesman, Gbenga Soloki, the photojournalist was accused of inflicting injuries on the woman, boasting that nothing could happen to him.
According to Soloki, Abiagan had been assaulting his wife for a long time, with the couple’s family intervening to broker peace whenever they quarreled.
Abiagan, who admitted on telephone that he beat up his wife, said he could not endure the way the woman treated his mother.
TheNationonlineng.net reports he said:

“I have been married for 10 years now. My mother had stroke and no one was available to take care of her. I brought my mother to the house and since then, it has been war.
My wife hates my mother with passion. My sin is that I accommodated all her siblings and they have turned my life into a nightmare.
“My wife has been devising means to deal with my mother. She starved my mother to the extent that I hired a help, who cooks for her.
My wife was seen dragging my mother on the ground, calling her a witch. I have been enduring it but I could not bear this last one she did to my mother.
“My wife threatened the cook I hired not to come. The church has organised several meetings for us. They begged her to change but she refused. It is the language she understands I gave to her.”

Romance / One Third Of Young Women Would Trade Intelligence For Bigger Breasts, Survey by Kayus4real: 7:06pm On Jun 26, 2017
substantial portion of young women, would choose bigger breasts over brains, according to a recent online survey.
The U.K. discount website MyVoucherCodes asked 1,100 18-25-year-old women if they would trade their IQ’s for bigger breasts. One-third of respondents said they would.
The survey, also found that 41 percent of women would rather have bigger breasts than a high IQ, and 24 percent of those who preferred bigger breasts said it was because it would make them “feel happier.”
In addition, 44 percent of the respondents would rather have a “slim figure” than high intelligence, with 29 percent of those women saying they felt being slim would make them feel “more confident.”
The survey also suggests that the women’s preferences might have more to do with what they think men value than what they value in themselves.
Fifty-seven percent of the women said they thought men would be “more interested” in them romantically if they had bigger breasts and 59 percent said they thought that, when looking for a relationship, men valued the appearance of a woman more so than her intelligence.
Overall, a whopping 79 percent of women surveyed felt they were judged more by their appearance than by their intelligence.

Politics / Multiple Suicide Bombings Rock University Of Maiduguri by Kayus4real: 7:40am On Jun 26, 2017
The University of Maiduguri on Sunday night came under a series of attacks as suicide bombers detonated their explosives at different locations including the security office where two lives were reportedly lost.

The Borno Police Public Relations Officer, Victor Isukwu, had, at about 12 midnight, confirmed the incident on a WhatsApp platform managed by his office, but only gave sketchy details of casualties recorded.

“Let’s not speculate yet”, he cautioned reporters.
“At Unimaid only one male suicide bomber died; three university security personnel injured among which one later died.”

Danjuma Gambo, a professor in the Mass Communications department of the university who also doubles as the spokesperson of the institution, confirmed in a BBC Hausa broadcast early on Monday that three suicide attacks took place in the university last night.

Residents of Maiduguri who celebrated a hitch-free Sallah could not go to sleep on Sunday night as sounds of bombings and shootings rented most part of the night and early hours of the dawn.

The city vibrated with the first blast, which occurred at about 10:15 p.m. Immediately after it was confirmed that it was from the university campus, another explosion occurred at exactly 11 p.m.

It has not been confirmed if the second blast which seemed bigger recorded any casualty, but it was followed by hours of shootings and sounds of military vehicular movement.

The university has become one of the major targets of the Boko Haram since it came under its first direct attack on January 16. About four suicide attacks have been executed within and around the university since then.

One of the attacks led to the death of a renowned professor of veterinary medicine, who died alongside few others during the first attack.

The University of Maiduguri lies at the outskirts of the host city along the route that leads to Bama from Maiduguri. The institution is about 45km from Kawuri town where the official entrance gate to Sambisa forest is located.

Aside the brick perimeter fence on the front side of the university, there has been no serious barrier at the back, which appears to have provided an entry point for the insurgents.

Celebrities / INTERVIEW: Why I Played Strong Sex Scenes In My Latest Film — Omotola Jalade by Kayus4real: 7:15pm On Jun 24, 2017
Leading actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has returned to Nollywood. After a three-year hiatus, the 39-year-old is lined up to debut “Alter Ego” alongside Wole Ojo and Jide Kosoko.
PREMIUM TIMES had an exclusive interview with the award-winning actress who has appeared in over 300 films. Omotola opens up about her career, marriage and playing a controversial character in Alter Ego .
PT: You went off the scene for three years. Was this deliberate?
Omotola: Yes it was. I knew I was going to embark on a break so I starred in a few movies, which have not been released. I shot Blood on the Lagoon with Teco Benson, and another one in London called Amina , which are yet to be released. I got to that point when I felt like nothing was challenging me anymore and I began to feel like my standard was dropping. I went through that period and I knew I needed to stay away and wait for Nollywood to catch up with some of our ideas.
PT: Do you think starring in Chineze Anyaene’s 2010 movie, Ije, in the United States, sort of placed you on a pedestal?
Omotola: Well, I knew cinema movies were the next step for me. After starring in Ije I knew that the industry was not moving fast enough and I knew the only way out for me was to make that sacrifice and just dropout. So I starred in movies that I thought could hold forth for me while I concentrate on other things like building my business. Coming back was hard for me because I was aiming for that movie that would challenge. I was looking for something as strong as or better than Mortal Inheritance . I knew I had to reset my mindset, I was looking for something that would excite me the same way Mortal Inheritance did. I got a lot of scripts and none of them filled that gap. I could have taken up some of them for the sake of money. But I have gone past that point.
PT: Your fans can’t stop talking about your sex scenes in Alter Ego. Was your husband comfortable with you playing the role?
Omotola: Some of the sex scenes in Alter Ego were downplayed because I’m married. But I won’t play the sex scenes if it wasn’t necessary to be included in the film. I know by starring in this movie that my fans would either hate me or love me forever. While shooting the film, I knew I was doing something quite risky. There are several ways to shoot a sex scene tastefully. I’m all for playing a sex scene convincingly and my husband knows this. I tell my husband, “You know what darling, you married an actor”; and secondly, he is my biggest fan. I tell him, “Do you want me to be great or do you just want me to be good?” He will say, “I want you to be great, sparklingly great”. Then I’ll say, “Ehen, we go love o” and he’s fine with it. He understands but just like every other human being and the professional that he is, he too wants to be convinced that I played a sex scene because it was necessary. I know when he watches movies sometimes he would say, “Did they have to kiss if they were not going to kiss well?”
PT: You got pretty raunchy with your co-stars in your latest movie, Alter Ego . Are you ready for viewer’s criticisms?
Omotola: When I wasn’t even confident, I starred in a movie called a prostitute, which was released 22 years ago. If I didn’t die then, is it now? I’m ready.
PT: Playing a believable sex scene would mean going extra lengths. Do you think Nigerians will embrace such films?
Omotola: You don’t even have to “chop” somebody’s mouth if you don’t want to. If the scene is not about you showing real mad crazy love then you can’t now be showing mouth to mouth kissing or removing of clothes. In Nigerian movies, we have downplayed chemistry. I hope we can bring that back. Back in the day when I shot Mortal Inheritance in 1995, I had to spend time with my co-star, Fred Amata. He was already a renowned director and in those days, directors were revered. So imagine, my director who had directed me in a movie prior now acting as my lover. I was really afraid but we broke the ice by spending time with each other. So, he demystified himself and we had chemistry and you could tell. So, I’m hoping all of this returns to Nigerian movies. So, as professionals, we need to ask ourselves if it is necessary for a movie to have a sex scene and when it is, it should be done well.
PT: With regards to Alter Ego, how were you able to build some on-screen chemistry with your co-star, Wole Ojo?
Omotola: I was working with Wole Ojo for the first time, so we had to spend time together and we played very rough. I understand the power of being friends with your love interest in a movie so we became like a couple. We ate together and basically just broke down the walls to make sure we were both comfortable with each other and have each other’s backs and interest at heart. So, it spilled into the movie without you even noticing.
PT: Alter Ego appears to be the first Nollywood movie to truly address Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Do you think it would appeal to the Nigerian Nollywood audience?
Omotola: We don’t talk about PTS that much in Nigeria, so, when you see someone that is mentally traumatised, the first thing that comes to your mind is, “this person is crazy!”. We don’t talk about depression in Nigeria. We don’t talk about how it affects children, especially those that have been abused.
When you ask a lot of adults, you might find out that some people have been abused as children. And if we want to tell ourselves the truth, how many of us were actually able to tell our parents about this?
In Africa, it’s always a taboo to say, “uncle, somebody touched me”. They will practically ask you one million questions. “What did you say to him? How were you sitting? What were you wearing?” As if it’s your fault, you become the victim. Alter Ego sets out to address how sexual abuse affects victims as kids and as adults.
Sometimes, you see people as adults behave in a certain way, but because we have not diagnosed this problem – because in Africa, you are either just crazy and should go to Yaba Left; but we don’t think about the fact that people actually have psychological trauma and that PTSD actually affect Africans. We think it’s an Oyibo disease.
PT: Why were you drawn to Alter Ego?
Omotola: It’s the soul of the movie. It must come quickly in a movie and must also be underlining throughout the film. Some come naturally while some don’t. The movie got me on time because I switch very quickly; so if I read through the first 10 pages of a movie script and I don’t get the story, I get bored. I loved the film from the beginning but it was a diamond in the rough. I knew what was lacking in it. So, I called the director and told him we will have to tear the script apart and rebuild it and he gave me his nod. It takes a big mind to shoot Alter Ego.
PT: You once hinted of plans to build a film village in Badagry in conjunction with your husband. Will it be ready anytime soon?
Omotola: I hope it will be ready next year hopefully. I also began another project on Mobolaji Bank Anthony,Lagos, which is supposed to be annex of the film village first called, Double Doors. So, these are some of the things I was busy putting together when I went off the scene. I have always said that what we need in Nollywood is infrastructure. So, I needed to start building infrastructure.
PT: Do you think the Buhari administration has done enough for Nollywood?
Omotola: I think this government needs to wake up. The sad part is that they go around the world and they brag about Nollywood. That’s why I don’t understand how to brag about something you are not helping enough. They need to understand that Nollywood in itself is a force and it should have its own ministry. We have a problem in Nigeria which is that we are afraid to allow ourselves be great. So, instead of allowing someone who knows his or her onions do the job we put stumbling blocks because of “see finish”. But if a white person comes along, we will support him or her. We need to start supportting ourselves. You will be amazed to know that Nollywood is the second (highest) employer of labour in Nigeria after agriculture. I think if they want to be sincere they will say Nollywood is number one. Why don’t we forget our immediate petty jealousy and begin to invest in this industry?
PT: You have yet to star in a Yoruba film?
Omotola: I starred in one a long time ago titled No Rival and Oyato. I might be shooting one soon. It’s not a fully Yoruba film; it’s a collaboration. I’m currently reading the script.
PT: How have you managed to reinvent yourself year in year out?
Omotola: I think it’s knowing what matters and being authentic and hoping that your authentic self makes sense. I am blessed that from a very tender age I was able to find God and my Christian values have shaped me. The real me is real; “I no dey form, I no dey do pass myself and what you see with me is what you get.” Somewhere along the line in my career, I deviated because of the distraction of money. Our brothers that were bringing so much unnecessary money into the industry and they were the ones dictating the pace. Thank God that I was able to find my core self back.
PT: Did marrying early boost your career?
Omotola : Absolutely. It’s one of the biggest blessings of my life because I look back now and I am like if I wasn’t married then, will I be married now? I can understand that as a celebrity it is hard, really hard, to get people who really love you for who you are and not because of the image of you that they have in mind. So, I can understand what some of my colleagues are going through because it’s not easy. Having said that, marrying my friend, a very wonderful, powerful man, who is confident of himself, has helped me. It has allowed me have that stability and be able to go out and fly.
PT: What’s happening to your music career?
Omosexy : I want to get back to music so bad and I am coming out viciously and it’s not like I care about what people were saying when I launched my music career.
I hope we can get to that place where we can find a balance. But, I want to do music in such a way that I can be in concert like Barbra Streisand. I want to fashion my career like hers I won’t be a Tiwa Savage because music is her career. So, I can’t compete with her because of movies; but I’ve told people in the past that I almost love music more than movies. That is why I love to express myself a lot in music. I want to build my own place and be in concert and have people come watch me. That’s the way I think I’ll be able to do music.
PT: On a final note, will your son produce your songs?
Omosexy : I would love him to produce me but we fight a lot and I complained a lot about that. But, I now understand that he is very finicky. He knows exactly and I don’t know if we can ever work together because we are both very headstrong. I will love to work with him because he is a very fantastic producer. Anyone who has met him says the same thing and he is the future and I’m not saying this because he is my son. Visit his website and check out his music.

Crime / Pregnant Woman, 2 Sons Killed In Jos Building Collapse by Kayus4real: 1:28pm On Jun 23, 2017
A pregnant woman and two of her kids were in the early hours of Wednesday killed after six pillars recently constructed by her neighbour collapsed into her home at Layin Farin Ruwa, Rikkos community of Jos North Local Government Area.
Daily Trust reports that the deceased, 30-year-old Hajiya Binta had died alongside her two sons: three-year-old Muhammadu Auwal and one-year-old Musa, whose lifeless bodies were dug out of the debris by neighbours.
The husband of the deceased, Sadau Adam, 63, told Daily Trust that the incident occurred around 4am while he had stepped out of the house and his wife and other members of the household were preparing Sahur (pre-dawn meal).
Adam, a father of seven, said five other members of his household, including another pregnant woman, had been rescued.
He said his neighbour only erected the pillars two months ago in an attempt to support an area affected by gully erosion directly above their home for fear that it might collapse into his plot. “Everyone warned him not to go on with it. All our neighbors told him to stop because the pillars had no foundation, but he insisted,” Adam said.
The Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Alhassan Barde said individuals must learn to abide by building plans and called on all state agencies involved in town planning and safety and security to ensure that the necessary permits were obtained by individuals.

Crime / Inside Story Of The LAST ABDUCTION That Nailed Evans by Kayus4real: 2:00pm On Jun 17, 2017
For seven years, suspected dare-devil kidnapper, Chukwudemeje George Onwamadike aka Evans, escaped police dragnet. His escape during his daring kidnapping runs had conferred on him supernatural invincibility of sort. His reign, however, came to an end last Saturday, after a police special squad led by Abba Kyari, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), arrested him at his No 3, Fred Shoboyede Street, Magodo, Lagos home, after a fierce gun battle which lasted several hours.
An abduction carried out by his gang on February 14 this year had paved way for his demystification. On that day, which coincidentally was celebrated all over the world as St. Valentine’s Day otherwise known as lovers day, a pharmacist and the owner of Maydon Pharmaceutical Company, Ilupeju, Lagos, Mr. Donatus Dunu, was abducted by Evans’ gang. Dunu had barely left his office in the evening when he was blocked by a vehicle. Before he knew it, Evans’ gun-wielding men had stepped out of the vehicle and bundled the pharmacist into their vehicle and sped off to No 21, Prophet Asaye Close, New Igando, a Lagos suburb where he was kept for three months.
Evans subsequently demanded the payment of a sum of one million euros as ransom. Despite efforts to make Evans see reason and reduce the money, he would have none of it, even after a sum of N100 million had been paid to him. It was either the money was paid or Dunu paid with his life.
While looking for the money, Dunu’s wife, who is also a director of the company, staff members organized prayers for the safe return of their boss. One of the workers said: “We did not only pray but engaged in fasting too. Who will not pray and fast if his or her boss was in such condition? It was really traumatic for us.”
Unknown to Dunu’s wife and his workers, the person who gave the information leading to Dunu’s abduction was one of the staff members of the company, identified as Emeka, who was employed about five years ago.
At the gang’s den in New Igando, where Dunu was kept, he had given up hope on the possibility of regaining his freedom. But he had a big break in the early hours of Friday, May 12, 2017, while his captors were deep in sleep. Despite losing his weight, Dunu managed to wriggle out of the leg-cuff he was held with. He was only wearing a pair of short and white singlet. A perimeter fence with broken bottles was to become a major obstacle to his escape, but the victim used his bare hand to manoeuvre the shattered bottles and climbed his way to freedom.
It was learnt that when he landed into an adjoining building, he was mistaken for a fleeing robber or cultist. Security guards raised the alarm which attracted neighbours to the scene and it was providence that saved him from being lynched by a mob.
One of the security guards who asked not to be named said: “I just came to my duty post that day when I started hearing the shout of ‘thief! Thief!’ I came out and saw this fair-complexioned man running towards me. I stopped him near that mini- tanker (he pointed at a decrepit stationary tanker). He was wearing only his boxer with his white singlet placed on his shoulder. There was fear in his eyes and he looked sick and traumatised. His body was blood-stained and there were injuries on his legs probably because he had been cuffed on his legs for a long time.
“Some people were unwilling to listen to him and they wanted to take him away. I said no, they should leave him here and instead call the elders of the community. I took him to the front of that Foursquare Church and told him to sit at the entrance of the church. I then asked how much the kidnappers were demanding from him and how much he had paid and he said they were demanding N500m and he had paid about N100m. I was shocked. We then took him to the Igando Divisional Police Station. Later that afternoon, the operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) returned with him to the street, but he was so tired and sick; he did not even come out of the vehicle. They broke into the compound but the kidnappers had escaped. So many things were discovered in the compound, including guns, a white bus and a power bike. I had never seen any power bike on this street before then.”
Abductors’ den
Number 21 Prophet Asaye Close, where Dunu was kept, is at the end of a close facing the entrance to the street. The compound has only a single bungalow. The compound is covered with interlocking stones. It is a study in irony. Carved on the gate is the sentence ‘Jesus is Alive.’ There is a doorbell on the left side of the gate. Observing the building closely, it is easy to see why the kidnappers settled for it. It is a single bungalow, so no noisy neighbour or neighbours to snoop into their business. It has coconut trees at the back, but there were no high rise buildings from where anybody could monitor what they were doing.
Asked about the activities in the compound, our source said: “They (abductors) kept to themselves. The guy there, whenever he was driving in from outside, the gate would have been opened before he got to the gate. In addition, loud music was always wafting from the bungalow. This always muffled every noise coming from there. This happened mostly in the day time. In the night, of course, the generating set would take over. So, we (neighbours) could never have known what went on there”.
With the escape of Dunu, he was able to make useful statements to the police about his kidnap. The next day, May 13, SARS operatives in four patrol vans stormed Franzaki Street, Bucknor Estate, off Isheri Osun Road. It was the rented home of one of the workers of Maydon Pharmaceutical, identified as Emeka, a pharmacist. He is from Oguta, Imo State, and in his late 30s or early 40’s; he has a wife and a child, according to the residents, who were rattled by the early morning raid.
Emeka was whisked away from his house by the police. Since then, the residents said he has not returned.
It was on the basis of this breakthrough that the Lagos Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, four days after Emeka’s arrest on May 16 declared a certain faceless Evans wanted. He said: “We are encouraging Nigerians to blow the whistle on this kidnapper. Whoever blows the whistle will get N30 million rewards as stated by the Inspector General of Police…Evans has been on the wanted list of the Police in Anambra, Edo and Lagos states for years. The suspects arrested have given us valuable information, which the command is working on to ensure that he is apprehended by all means.”
Operatives of the Inspector General of Police’s anti-kidnapping team went into action and with the aid of high tech equipment, they were able to track key members of the kidnap syndicate, rounded them up and then set the stage for the final arrest of Evans. This came last Saturday when Evans was demystified by the police.
Mood at the victim’s firm
At the headquarters of Maydon Pharmaceutical Company Limited at 15 Wilmer Street, Ilupeju, Lagos, the atmosphere was subdued. The workers discussed in low tone. There were several innuendoes about a certain Emeka from Oguta. Both Mr. Donatus Dunu, the chairman of the company, and his wife, the managing director, were not on seat.
However, one of the male workers said they had been warned not to discuss their boss’ harrowing experience with pressmen and that it was only the boss or his wife that can speak on the matter. Pressed further, he described his boss’ escape as miraculous. When shown the picture of the compound where Dunu was kept with the inscription ‘Jesus is alive’, he exclaimed ‘indeed, Jesus is alive!’

Crime / Fulani Herdsmen Kidnap Housewife, Rape Her For 3 Days by Kayus4real: 8:09am On Jun 17, 2017
A 22-year-old Fulani herdsman, Abubakar Mojumba, is in the net of Oyo State Police Command for allegedly kidnapping a 22-year-old woman, Sadiat Musa, and kept her in a thick forest, where he and his members raped her serially for three days.
He was one of the 16 suspects paraded by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abiodun Odude, at the state police headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan yesterday.
The other 15 suspects were arrested at different parts of the state for armed robbery and theft, and the following were recovered from them: Guns, cutlasses, local bulletproof jacket, mobile phones, wrist watches, expended cartridges, cars, motorcycles and so on.
Odude stated that the kidnapping suspect, Mojumba, was arrested on June 7, 2017, at about 0100hrs. The suspect, he said, “and others now at large conspired and kidnapped a 22-year old female victim from her residence at Elewuro village, Iganna to a thick forest in Iwere-Ile, where she was held hostage for three days and they sexually abused her before she was rescued from her abductors.
“While abducting the victim, the hoodlums also stole her husband’s motorcycle with which she was taken away. The suspect was later arrested with the assistance of the villagers while trying to negotiate ransom with victim’s family members.”
In a chat with newsmen, the kidnapping suspect, Mojumba, who spoke through an interpreter, confessed that he participated in the illegal operation because his gang members promised to give him motorcycle.
According to him, he joined three other persons to carry out the nefarious activity, saying four of them stormed the victim’s house at Elewuro village, Iganna on Oke Ogun axis of the state, robbed the family, abducted the woman and took her to a thick forest on a motorcycle owned by her husband.
The police boss in the state also paraded two members of notorious armed robbery gang, Janyu Bello, 25, and Aliyu Lawal, 20, who have been terrorising motorists and passengers on Iwere Ile – Igangan Road, Ado Awaye – Iseyin Road and other places in Oyo State.
Also paraded were members of four-man robbery gang allegedly responsible for the high level of armed robbery in Akobo, Egbeda, Olodo, Idi Iroko along Olorunda Road, and other places in Ibadan. The gang allegedly robbed 16 houses in three communities on June 3, this year.

Celebrities / Joy Ugwu, Miss Asaigbo In Kirikiri Prison by Kayus4real: 7:40am On Jun 17, 2017
Beauty queen rots in jail

Miss Igbo abandoned in Kirikiri prison over inability to meet bail conditions

As a beauty queen of a pageant involving the core five South East states, she is seen as a symbol of the Igbo nation, and is expected to model the defining character of the people- enterprise, industry and moral character.

And indeed, a little into her tenure, Ugwu Joy, the reigning Miss Asaigbo 2016, showed signs she meant business to live up to the billing.

The Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) Accounting student, who has been a lone wolf fending for herself since she lost her parents as a child, set up a foundation to care for the vulnerable and needy kids.

It was the principal drive for contesting the beauty competition, she disclosed in a media chat. “I had lots of things that motivated me to go for the Miss Asaigbo pageant. First, to me, pageants are fun, sparkles, glitter and shine, also to gain more self confidence, make new friends and enjoy the prestige of wearing the crown in my community. But most importantly, my motivation comes from using the platform to gain more awareness for my foundation, Feed the Poor and Orphan Initiative. Knowing firsthand how it feels growing up without parents, the passion for that kept me motivated and strong throughout the competition.

“My role model was my mum, though I was three-years-old when she passed on. The little memory and the stories I heard of her still make me smile when I remember them. She was a strong woman and made sure we didn’t go hungry kid, or stop schooling when my dad died, she’s and will always be my role model.

“Many pageant winners are focused on the girl child programmes already, my main focus now is not just the girl child, but every homeless, helpless and hungry kid on the street. They need to be shown love and I hope to be the gap between them and the rich that wants to help, but doesn’t know how to go about it.”

As part of her humanitarian service, Joy recently visited the Enugu prisons where she celebrated her birthday, lavishing goodies on the inmates. She has decided to do more in her campaign to prevent youths from taking to crime. The decision stemmed from an experience she said, she had during the visit to the jailhouse.

“On my birthday, I visited the prisons with the goodies I got for them. Then, the warden officer gave me a tour and while he was at it, two boys were brought in and everyone started laughing and I asked why? He explained that the boys were released just two days before, but were back, because all their friends and the love they could get was in the prison yard, as they had no one to show them love in the outside world when they were released. So, they had to commit another crime in order to be brought back into prison. When I heard that, I froze. Imagine what love could prevent in our society? Crimes and hate will be reduced drastically if together we can make the world a better place,” Joy reasoned.

In this interview, she promised to be a good role model to her increasing fans, stressing: “The story of my life is enough inspiration to all who are looking up to me, I lost my parents at age three, I didn’t blame God or blame anyone… I folded my sleeves, worked very hard to get educated and prayed to God without ceasing. If I could be something today, anyone can be whoever they want to be… only God and yourself can.”

The irony

But, the beauty queen seems not to have been true to her words, as she is herself today behind bars. From the glory of her office, she has descended and now dwells in gory Kirikiri prisons in Lagos, where she was remanded by a Yaba Magistrate court for alleged involvement in N7.5million fraud, suggesting that her touted integrity, diligence and selfless service have all been a facade.

The last in the family of three and native of Eha-Amufu in Isi-uzo Local Government area of Enugu State, police investigations revealed, had been an alleged serial scammer, duping innocent Nigerians through a visa racket and ponzi scheme. She landed in police net after series of complaints from some of her alleged victims.

Saturday Sun learnt that the embattled pageant winner had allegedly fleeced many ‘clients’, who, however, lacked the nerve to report her because they were either threatened or afraid of her touted status and influence, until one Jonathan Nwaogu and Anita Oby reported her in Lagos and investigation was launched into the complaints.

Joy had allegedly failed to fulfill a contract to help Jonathan secure a visa for which he reportedly paid million naira (N1m). She was said to have started evading her client and avoiding his calls after the payment.

Joy also allegedly duped Oby N2million through a ponzi scheme called “Me and You” purportedly floated by the former. All went sour when one of the subscribers refused to pay and the organisation could not refund Oby’s money.

Jonathan said: “The girl duped me one million naira and the evidence is there. I didn’t have much to say, because she said she wanted the matter to be taken to court. What baffled me was the way she took the matter. It was quite obvious that she defrauded me. All she needed to do was to surrender and settle for peace to reign. I don’t understand why she decided to go to court; I heard the comments she made in the police station. The money is just one million naira and she behaved as if it was dollars. All I planned was to recover my money in a very simple way.”

Saturday Sun learnt that when she was first arrested in Enugu, the accused allegedly slapped a police officer, bragging about her connections.

She was also said to have had N7.5m in her account then, but allegedly made massive withdrawals between the period she was temporarily released and rearrested, leaving only N400,000 balance.

Although the accused who also works with a company named FESTIVITY CAKES AND CRAFTS, was granted bail, she was still in custody as at press time, as she could not meet the bail conditions.

Bethel Chikezie, who claimed to be a relation of Joy, told Saturday Sun: “The case is not just a thing of today. The allegation was based on MMM, , I don’t know if the person who reported her has any personal matter with her. Maybe the person does not like her. MMM is not a recognised business in Nigeria, even the government warned when all these things came up. The point now is that they wanted her to pay for the thing, but she is saying no, because she did no wrong. Everybody did MMM, her own case could not be different.”

Religion / Recession: Catholic Priests Task Nigerians, Prescribe Solutions by Kayus4real: 11:08pm On Jun 16, 2017
Nigeria’s Catholic Diocesan Priests' Association (NCDPA) has charged Nigerians to embrace prudence, modesty in living and accountability as steps toward making the best of the current economic recession in the country.
The priests also advised the lay faithful and all Nigerians not to despair in the face of the current recession facing the country and suggested steps to weather the storm.
The NCDPA, at the end of its 30th annual general meeting (AGM), held at the Pope John Paul II Pastoral Centre in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, said "the Church should restore confidence and hope to her faithful and citizens."
In a communiqué signed by its National President, Very Reverend Father Sylvester Onmoke, and Secretary, Rev Fr Francis Ikhianosime, the NCDPA said: "Using her intellectual and human resources, the Church should constructively and truthfully engage the government in fostering good leadership, human development and progress."
The priests said: "In the face of the present economic predicament, priests, other pastoral agents and indeed the lay faithful should embrace prudence, modesty in living and accountability and not giving any indication of being ostentatious.
"The Church being a Mother and teacher cannot close her eyes to the difficulties of her children. It is her great concern that her children are spiritually, socially and economically stable. This fact is corroborated by her Social Teachings.
"This period of economic recession should be seen as an opportunity for continued witnessing. Hence, the Church must remain a beacon of hope for the Catholic faithful and indeed the whole citizens in the midst of the troubling economic waters. The Church must not demonstrate fear or despair in the face of this recession."
They congratulated the Dioceses of Osogbo, Ogoja, Shendam and Bauchi on the appointment of their new bishops, Most Rev. John Akin Oyejola; Monsignor Donatus Edet Akpan; Most Rev. Philip Davou Dung and Monsignor Hilary Dachelem, C.M.F respectively.
On the issue of Ahiara Diocese, the NCDPA said: "We renew our words of prayer for the Church in Nigeria particularly Ahiara Diocese which in the words of Pope Francis, “has been without the bridegroom, has lost her fertility and cannot bear fruits”.
"During this challenging time, we call on all priests of the diocese to give a chance to the Holy Spirit; which is the spirit of obedience and allow “the peace of God reign in their hearts and in their palaces peace.”
The AGM which held from 13-16th June, 2017 had over 100 priests from different ecclesiastical districts in Nigeria for the gathering tagged: "The Role of the Church in a Recessed Economy."

Religion / CAN Visits Osinbajo, Demands Five-point Agenda by Kayus4real: 6:12am On Jun 16, 2017
The Christan Association of Nigeria (CAN) has made five demands on the Federal Government.
The demands were handed over to Acting President Yemi Osinbajo at a closed door meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Wednesday.

The five demands, which were obtained on Thursday night include “Change obnoxious curriculum that demands students study Islamic Arabic Studies
“Arrest and prosecute murderous herdsmen
“Arrest and prosecute those who called for the expulsion of Igbos
“Turn our youths into Entrepreneurs
“Stop kidnapping on our roads.”

CAN was led on the courtesy visit by its President, His Eminence, Rev Dr Samson Olasupo A Ayokunle.
His full speech read “Your Excellency Sir,
The leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria, the umbrella body for all Christian churches in Nigeria is here today to pay you a goodwill visit and to pray for the speedy recovery of the President of our nation, President Muhammadu Buhari so that he might be able to come back home and continue with his leadership responsibilities of this country to the good of all. It is our prayer that there would be miraculous intervention in his healing and all praises shall be to God.

“This is our sacred duty as fellow human beings who can also fall sick and as Christians who value so much the life of all living creatures, especially human beings.
“On the other hand, we want to commend your Excellency for doing your best to see that no vacuum is created by the team left behind by the President in the governance of the nation. We are watching the dexterity with which you are leading others to carry out government business with sense of admiration and thanks to God. We commend your submission to your principal and your humility in service. May God cause every grace to abound towards you so that you might be able to hold fort better each day until the President returns in the name of Jesus. Please be assured of our prayers always.”

Obnoxious, divisive and ungodly secondary school curriculum.

“We are here to point your attention to a time-bomb, obnoxious, divisive and ungodly secondary school curriculum that the Federal Ministry of Education is introducing into our schools and of which we had earlier complained to the Presidency. Then, if I am not mistaking, it was suspended but has again been re-introduced without any review at all. This curriculum the brain-child of Nigerian Educational Research Council, an agency of the Federal Ministry of Education. To us in Christian Association of Nigeria, it’s introduction is an ill-wind that blows nobody any good for so many reasons. Lead a State has started implementing it already and Christians that are more on the receiving side of it are already crying fowl because of its potential dangers now or in the future.

“In this curriculum, Islamic and Christian Religious Studies will no longer be studied in schools as subjects on their own but as themes in a civic education. This is undermine the sound mitral values that these two subjects had imparted in the past to our children which had made us to religiously and ethnically co-exist without any tension. It was some three or two decades ago when our education planners started removing the teaching of religious values through the cancellation of morning devotion in schools that all these violence by youths in different forms came on board. I was in a meeting yesterday with some Muslim leaders where one of them also expressed his fears about the dangers in this new curriculum. As prophets to the nation, we demand a complete withdraw and ban of this curriculum. If allowed to be implemented, it would lead us to a godless nation with violence and all forms of ungodliness as the order of the day.

“Furthermore sir, this curriculum went ahead to introduce Islamic Arabic Studies in another section together with French and made one of the two compulsory for the student. You are aware that we have very low percentage of French teachers in all our secondary schools in Nigeria. I am sure that over 80% of our secondary schools do not have French teachers at all but have Arabic teachers. The implication is that Christian students would have no choice than to study Arabic. If a Christian student voluntarily goes to study Islamic Religious Studies, there is nothing bad in that because some of us in both religions had done that before for better understanding, however, where the student is tactically forced into studying it because the alternative subject does not have teacher to teach it, it is a great problem tending to Islamization.

“Still in this curriculum, Islamic Religious Knowledge was equally made available as a subject in another section without any corresponding availability of Christian Religious Knowledge. Is this not a divisive curriculum that can set the nation on fire? Is this fair to millions of Christians in this nation? A Christian student in a secondary school in Kwara State had the body lacerated with cane by the Arabic Teacher because the pupil refused to do Arabic Studies when French Teacher was not available and Christian Religious Knowledge, Hebrew or Greek were not part of the options at all. If we are going to do pilgrimage together as a nation, there must be fairplay, mutual respect for one another and justice which can be brought about by different arms of government. We demand for justice from the government on this matter very quickly. We would request for a return to the curriculum we were using before this dangerous one which did not produce insurgents or a wrongly indoctrinated Nigerians. A stitch in time saves nine.

“Bring Murderous Herdsmen and Kidnappers to Book

You are aware sir how the rampaging Herdsmen have been decimating the lives of farmers in this nation from the North to the South, the East and the West. Southern Kaduna is not totally free from their grip up till now. Killing and maiming of farmers continue in Benue, Enugu, Abraka in Delta State just to mention a few. The most painful thing is that we are seeing their victims without the seriousness from the law enforcement agents to arrest and successfully prosecute the murderous herdsmen. This has encouraged them to continue in their killing and kidnapping spree with reckless abandon.

“Don’t we have a competent government in place with all the necessary law enforcement apparatus to ensure law and order? This government has to do more than what you have done presently to bring these criminals to Book. They had deemed the hopes of many and caused unprecedented sorrow in many homes. Please sir, do something to the activities of herdsmen before they destroy almost all Nigerians or before everybody would look for weapons for self defence. The sources of their weapons must be probed.

” We thank the Police and DSS for their recent breakthrough in apprehending some kidnappers around the country. This effort must be sustained for safety of all of us in our movements for our daily bread. We urge you to call the attention of Kogi State Governor and the Inspector General of Police to the kidnapping ring on Lokoja-Okene Road, Lokoja-Kabba Road and Abuja-Kaduna Road. Every week, several travellers are kidnapped on these roads. The feelers we have from those who got set free from them after the payment of huge ransom was that from the kidnappers’ conversations, the Police and the Community Leaders are partners with the kidnappers in the evil act. These two groups receive their own share from kidnapping. We suspect that the money amassed from kidnapping may still be used to cause further havoc by the terrorists perpetrating this act. We are hopeful that through your intervention and our prayer backing, there would be reprieve for Nigerians.

Ultimatum from some Northern Youths and an Elder for the Ibos to vacate the North.

“We are so disappointed to hear the ultimatum of hate made by some Northern Youths that the Easterners of Igbo extraction should leave every part of Northern Nigeria within three months. We condemn such statement in strong terms and we see it as divisive, misguided, ethnocentric and unconstitutional. We urge that the law enforcement agents should be directed by you to go after those behind it whether young or old. It is a reasonable statement that no amount of previous provocation can justify. We commend you for talking tough on this dangerous statement but still urge sir that you get them arrested as Kanu, the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra was arrested and prosecuted. We believe in one indivisible Nigeria where our diversities can be explored for growth and development. We must be tolerant of one another and co-exist in love.

“Youth Unemployment

Youth unemployment is another development of great concern in our nation. We urge your government to pay more attention to this issue by creating investment friendly environment that would absolve millions of youth roaming the streets daily without job or hope for tomorrow. Industrial Estates should be created as the late sage Chief Obafemi Awolowo did in Lagos which brought many industries to Lagos and is still the life wire of Lagos State economy till today and a major employer of labour. If this is done, kidnapping and other violent crimes would reduce and there would be tranquillity in the country.
We would appreciate that from time to time you would create time to see the leadership of CAN for progressive discussion like this and prayers.

Thank you very much sir for your time and patience.” it stated

Education / ASUU Commends JAMB Over Blacklist Of 48 CBT Centres by Kayus4real: 6:05am On Jun 16, 2017
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has commended JAMB for blacklisting 48 Computer Based Test (CBT) centres used for the 2017 UTME.
The President of the union, Biodun Ogunyemi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Lagos that the owners of the blacklisted centres should also be prosecuted.
The 48 CBT centres were among more than 600 centres used for the conduct of the UTME nationwide in May.
JAMB’s registrar, Is-haq Oloyede, had on Wednesday announced the blacklisting of the centres for alleged involvement in extortion and “organised examination malpractice” during the UTME.
Mr. Oloyede said the decision was taken at the end of an enlarged meeting with external examiners and other stakeholders in the conduct of the examination.
He also announced the cancellation of results of 50,000 candidates for alleged involvement in malpractice during the examination.
The ASUU boss said the development was a step in the right direction, describing it as “ the way to go.’’
“What JAMB has done in that respect is a welcome development and a good decision.
“I will not expect it to stop at just blacklisting of such centres.
“The leadership of the board should go a step forward by prosecuting owners of the affected centre in order to serve as a deterrent to others.
“This measure will further ensure that the integrity of the examination cannot be undermined,’’ Mr. Ogunyemi said.
He added that JAMB should also strive to do a thorough check on centres and their owners before engaging them in the conduct of the UTME to avoid a re-occurrence.

Crime / How Evans Defied Prophet’s Warning Days Before Arrest by Kayus4real: 5:57am On Jun 16, 2017
— 16th June 2017
By Christopher Oji
Thirty -six more phones lines have been recovered from suspected billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans.
This is coming at a time the kindnap kingpin’s encounter with a prophet has been exposed.
Evans was arrested by operatives of the Inspector-General Of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), at his mansion on 3, Fred Shogboyede Street, Magodo Estate, Lagos.
A senior police officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said: “More discoveries have been made during investigation. On Wednesday, we discovered that Evans still had 36 more SIM cards outside the 126 lines we already have.

He has 11 phones, including Thuraya and Vertu. The phones are valued at N2.4 million and N2.6 million, respectively.
That was why it was very difficult to arrest him because the two phones can operate without SIM cards. That is the kind of phone the Boko Haram terrorist group is using in the desert. All the lines are operational lines, except one that is for his immediate family. We are working on the new lines and phones. So far, I can tell you that all the I6I lines are operational ones.”
A family source close to Evans who does not want his name in print said a prophet warned him about impending danger. Said he: “I saw him at the ASPAMDA market, Trade Fair market, Lagos. I was telling him about the rumours making the rounds that he was a kidnapper, but he denied it, telling me that the allegation was a lie. Well, as we were talking, a prominent prophet walked in and warned him about impending danger. Evans still denied that he was doing something dubious. He told the prophet that he came to the market to see an importer who was bringing in some goods from China.
“The man of God told him to give up crime and give his life to Christ, but he said he had already given his life to Christ who has been blessing his business. While walking away, he told me to disregard his enemies who had been tarnishing his good name. The man of God shook his head and said something
terrible would befall him.
“Evans is a brother, but we were all suspecting him and he was not associating with us. When I saw him in the market, he was talking softly as a good man. I asked why he was not visiting home and coming for family meetings in Lagos. He wanted to explain before the prophet came in. If only he had repented, maybe God would have saved him. Well, he has committed evil, but blood is still blood.”
A police source corroborated the story of Evans going to ASPAMDA market saying: “It is the truth. Evans went to the market to check on the next victim. We also discovered that he visited some social events the same week looking for those to kidnap.”
Evans yesterday shed tears, weeping uncontrollably, blaming his woes on his native doctor, who claimed to have fortified him against danger.

Angry Evans said: “My juju man said that I was like the wind that can never be seen. I trusted him, but see how I was picked like a common criminal. If I have my way, the juju man will pay for his sins.”
The Lagos State Police Command recently stormed Evans’ criminal hideouts at the Igando area of Lagos, where cache of arms and ammunition and other items were recovered.
Evans had been elusive for over six years after the attempted kidnap of Young Shall Grow Motor’s boss, Chief Vincent Obianodo, at FESTAC Town, Lagos. A police detail attached to the transport magnate was shot dead while three of Evans’ gang members lost their lives in the attack.
Obianodo was flown abroad following gunshot injuries he sustained during the attack.
The Inspector-General of Police ,Mr Ibrahim who was not happy with the delay in the arrest of Evans ,ordered IRT ,led by ACP Abba Kyari ,to fish him out.IRT arrested Evans and some his gang members .

Education / JAMB Orders Over 60,000 Candidates To Rewrite UMTE Over Malpractice, Others by Kayus4real: 6:57pm On Jun 14, 2017
At least 62,140 candidates will have to re-write university admission examinations as the Joint Examination and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has delisted computer-based centres (CBT) from board examination as a result of technical deficiencies, extortion, organised examination malpractice and other infractions.
The board also suspended 24 centres for one year due to technical issues. It said the affected centres may be considered for 2019 exams.
The rescheduled exams will hold July 1.
The registrar of JAMB, Ishaq Oloyede, said these at a press briefing after the board’s management meeting in Abuja on Wednesday.
The 62,140 cancelled results include of 57,646 candidates in centres-induced malpractice, 3,811 late registration, and 683 candidates who had biometric challenges.
The board also cancelled the results of another 2,052 individual candidates found culpable of examination malpractice.
Mr. Oloyede said the management meeting had approved the “delisting of forty-eight (48) centres from participating in the board’s examination in future as a result of serious technical deficiencies, extortion, organised examination malpractice and other damaging infractions”.
He explained that the rescheduled examination was for candidates of centres with mass malpractice but who were deemed innocent.
“The rescheduling of examination is for: biometric non verification machine related issues, technical and log out issues, late registration, malfunctioning of servers at the centre and incomplete results,” he said.
According to the board, 1,722,236 candidates registered for the 2017 unified Tertiary Matriculation Board, which is the highest figure ever in the history of the exams.

It has gotten to the point where people are scared to go and buy the stuff they need. It is a terrible something.
So we decided to flashback to a time when things were better. A time when N20 naira could buy you a lot of stuff. The year 2000.
Celebrities / ‘my Daughter Keeps Asking Me About Her Father, – Uche Ogbodo by Kayus4real: 9:22am On Jun 10, 2017
Nollywood actress, Uche Ogbodo’s marriage to footballer husband Atto Ubby was fraught with controversies and crashed just after a couple of months in 2014. The marriage was so short-lived that the husband never knew she was pregnant.
Seemingly crushed and heartbroken, Uche relocated to US and returned some couple of years ago to reclaim her position as one of the leading ladies in Nollywood.
Now a single mother, Uche continues her life, winning some battles and losing some. Here is what she told Vanguard about how she’s been coping with not having her baby’s father in their child’s life.
’How is life now as a single mum compared to when you were married?
Life is more fulfilling for me. As a single mother, life is more fulfilling than it would have been as a single girl without a child.
Though, I’m still single and unmarried, but I would say if I used to be too emotional, needy or petty, all that is gone, my child fills that vacuum for me.
When I want to look into someone’s eyes and feel loved, I have all that in my daughter. She has helped me rebuild myself. 50% of the woman I have become comes from my having a baby. It has turned me around to the very destiny I was born to accomplish.
Does that mean you’re not looking forward to a new relationship?
I’m still hoping to find that wonderful human being that would fill the remaining part of my needs. I’m open to anything. Yes, I’m dating, but I haven’t found the one.
What is your relationship with your ex like? Are you on talking terms?
No, we’re not talking. He doesn’t keep in touch, but that’s fine.
Some people are of the view that it’s better to be a baby-mama than to be married, what’s your opinion on this growing trend?
I’m a single mother already. It happened by fate. I never wanted it to happen this way. I wanted to be married. I think it’s an individual thing. I don’t judge people.
If you think you don’t want to get married, you just want to be a baby-mama. For heaven’s sake, it’s your life.
But if you think that marriage is what works for you, then all well and good. I want to get married. I need a partner in my life, because I don’t think I want to spend the rest of my life alone with my children.
Even at this age, my daughter keeps asking me about her father.
She has never seen him. This isn’t what I want and it hurts me sometimes. But what can I do and I am hoping that I can get a good daddy for my daughter.
I don’t want a daddy that would hurt me and my child, but one that would love us both. So, I’m not in a hurry.

Crime / Re: The Real Story Of Ishola Oyenusi- Nigeria’s Deadliest Armed Robber by Kayus4real: 9:08am On Jun 09, 2017
Kayus4real:
Ishola Oyenusi , popularly known as Doctor Oyenusi, was a notorious armed robber who terrorized the people of Lagos and other neighboring cities in the 1970s. Ishola Oyenusi and his gang of six were highly skilled in snatching cars, robbing banks, factories, stores and killing people like chickens. Doctor Oyenusi , as he was called, was not a doctor by profession but adopted the title for the fun of it. The evidence lies in a confession he made few minutes before his execution. He confessed that his parents were not capable of furthering his secondary school education and that was what forced him into robbery. So without having a secondary school education, Oyenusi by no way could have been a medical doctor.
Oyenusi started off his robbery career by snatching a car (whose owner died in the process) just because his (Oyenusi) girlfriend needed some money. It was said by some people that Oyenusi was romantic. He sold the car at the price of N400 and gave the money to his girlfriend. It was also said that Oyenusi was hot tempered and arrogant. During his arrest, he thundered down on a police officer who was ushering him around. He said, “people like you don’t talk to me like that when I’m armed, I gun them down !”
Oyenusi came into limelight after the Nigerian civil war ended in 1970. He robbed banks and people in both daylight and night, and he never let any of his victims live to see another day, he killed them all! This earned him the name “ Doctor rob and kill “. At the height of his horrific reign, Oyenusi bragged that “ the bullet has no power “. He probably forgot that he who live by the sword will surely die by the sword. Oyenusi was so infamous that he was regarded by some people as the “first celebrated armed robber in Nigeria“, and after him was Lawrence Anini , Babatunde Folorunsho (Baba oni lace), Shina Rambo, Buraimo Jimoh and others.

However, nothing lasts forever, and as the adage says, everyday belongs to the thief while a day belongs to the owner. On the 27th of March, 1971, Oyenusi was nabbed by the police during one of his robbery operations in which he and his notorious gang killed a police constable named Mr. Nwi and stole $28,000 as at then. Cloud of shame hovered above Doctor Ishola Oyenusi as he was casted before the law and found guilty then sentenced to death by firing squad. Oyenusi confessed that he was not to die alone because he did not commit the crimes alone. He vomited the names of other members of the gang which were as follows: Joseph Osamedike, Ambrose Nwokobia, Joel Amamieye, Philip Ogbolumain, Ademola Adegbitan and Stephen Ndubuokwu. Back then, public execution was the order of the day, so when Oyenusi was ushered to the popular Bar Beach in Lagos where he was to be executed, over 30,000 Nigerians were happily and excitedly waiting to see the man who had terrorized them get riddled by hot bullets. It was said that some civil servants even brought a coffin to the execution ground to mock the once mighty robber kingpin who was now nothing but a scapegoat whose breath would be exhausted in any moment.

Trucks carrying Oyenusi and his executors arrived at the execution ground around 10:am. Doctor Oyenusi, his gang members and one other criminal got down slowly. People jeered and booed them, especially Oyenusi who they had really trooped out to watch die. Oyenusi donned a dark long-sleeve shirt and had his hands tied behind him. He was sweating profusely but managed to smile all the way to the stakes. He kept smiling, smiling and smiling but could still not hide the agony and terror written boldly on his face. Few minutes before he was shot, Oyenusi told journalists that he would not have ventured into armed robbery if his parents were capable of sending him to secondary school. He also said “I am dying for the offense I have committed “. Oyenusi and other criminals were fastened to the stakes. The soldiers lined in front of them and aimed their ever ready guns. Some of the criminals yelled their last words of protest at the cameras. Then a loud voice let out the word “ fire “! Oyenusi and other criminal’s body were sprayed with bullets. That was the bitter end of Ishola Oyenusi who lived by the bullets and died by the bullets. The execution of Doctor Ishola Oyenusi sent the streets of Lagos deserted at night. Families locked themselves behind doors for the fear that some of Oyenusi’s boys might retaliate.

This fear lasted long that even in 1977, the veteran movie director, Eddie Ugbomah, called for actors to play the role of Oyenusi in a movie he was about to produce titled “The Rise and Fall of Dr. Oyenusi “, but no actor was brave enough to step forward to play the role. They all feared that Oyenusi’s boys might show them pepper. Eddie Ugbomah had no choice than to play the role of Oyenusi himself. In the movie, he revealed the secrets of top Nigerian officials and military men backing Oyenusi and his gang by providing them money and weapons. As expected, Eddie Ugbomah was threatened and later, his store was looted. He was told in a letter to stop shooting the movie and everything would be returned to him. But Eddie Ugbomah proved not to be a coward by eventually releasing the movie in 1977. In recent times, a Nollywood actor, Odunlade Adekola , also released a movie (Oyenusi) detailing the life of Ishola Oyenusi, the notorious Nigerian armed robber.
The name Ishola Oyenusi will forever be remembered in the history of crime in Nigeria.

Crime / Baby Goes Missing After Mother ‘borrowed’ Him To Neighbour by Kayus4real: 8:50am On Jun 09, 2017
A 25-year-old South African mother is presently heartbroken and shattered as her 9month old baby has been missing for five days. Abongile Nojahi, the unemployed mother claims she had let her 17-year-old neighbour, Zanele Mchunu “borrow” her son on Saturday and since then she hasn’t set her eyes on her child nor the neighbour whose phone has been out of reach.
“This is so hard. I don’t sleep at night because I just lie awake and worry about where he is‚”Abongile said.
Narrating the sad occurrence to Times Live, the distraught mother said:
‘She came to my house and asked if she could borrow my baby and I said that was fine. She said she would come back. I gave her my baby and by the time Sunday came‚ she had never come back‚” she said.

Abongile said she felt comfortable leaving her child with her friend‚ and did not find the request strange or had any reason to suspect that she would make such move.
“She often looks after him‚ so it was normal to me. I have known her for a year and she is my neighbour.’
Although, she has however reported to the police the missing case of her child and Police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala made an appeal to the general public with information to reach them.
Gwala requested that anyone with information of their whereabouts contact Warrant Officer SV Mhlongo on 031 508 2330 or 073 254 2512 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.

The lady who sent the guy a photo which had Delta State as the location engraved in it, claimed you can use Palm Oil to fry pancakes, and even add pepper to it.
The guy who saw the picture’s location, asked the lady, “You say you’re in Delta, but this picture says Lekki”…
However she countered this, claiming she’s at Lekki Daniel’s Hotel in Delta.

After a whirlwind romance, Supermodel Miranda Kerr and Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel are officially husband and wife! The couple tied the knot in front of family and friends at their home in Brentwood.
The supermodel and Snapchat CEO met at a dinner party in New York back in 2014 and were engaged in July, 2016.
Spiegel, 26 and Kerr, 34, were rumoured to be preparing for the wedding at their Brentwood mansion yesterday after numerous publications spotted a huge, white marquee being erected in their backyard.

The couple have lived in the luxurious Los Angeles suburb since they bought the Brentwood mansion last year for a hefty US $12 million.

“For a small wedding, it has been a huge production,” a source told the publication.
“The wedding and reception are intimate, but lavish and classy. Miranda has been very involved. She has great taste and knew exactly what she wanted. She is very sweet. She is ecstatic to marry Evan,” they added.
Spiegel is Kerr’s second husband after she was married to British actor Orlando Bloom from 2010-2013. They have one child, Flynn, aged six.
