Politics / It's Judgement time For Ayodele Fayose by Kayus4real: 7:19am On Oct 16, 2018
What has a beginning must have an end,” outgoing Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose reportedly said as he gave handover notes to the Head of Service, Dr. Gbenga Faseluka, at a ceremony on October 12. He added: “History will be kind to me as a man who has given his best to the people.”

It is noteworthy that among the first appointments Fayose announced when he became governor in 2014 was “personal adviser to the governor on special duties and stomach infrastructure.” By creating this curious office, Fayose had sent a signal that his tenure would be marked by curiosities
Well, Fayose is free to say positive things about his four-year tenure, which ends today. Tomorrow, a new governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, will be sworn in.

It is interesting that Fayose will not be at Fayemi’s inauguration. “I have to be in EFCC office in Abuja on Tuesday,” he told journalists at a valedictory event. Fayose has questions to answer at the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

It remains to be seen whether History will be kind to Fayose. This is the character that reportedly went on the air to declare Prof Kolapo Olusola as the winner of the governorship election of July 14. Olusola, the deputy governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, was Fayose’s personal choice, but he needed to win the election.

While the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) prepared to officially announce the election result, Fayose announced on the Ekiti State Broadcasting Service (EKBS) that his choice had won the election. Olusola didn’t win. Dr. Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the election. Fayose’s radio broadcast was illegal. He knew it was illegal. The information was wrong. He knew it was wrong.

This is the character that, on December 8, 2015, made a fashion statement as well as a power statement at the Ekiti State House of Assembly. Fayose appeared at the House of Assembly to present the Appropriation bill dressed in a pair of Jeans trousers and a T-shirt. Maybe that was his idea of dressing down. But only those who don’t understand the idea of “dressing properly for the occasion” considered Fayose’s informal dressing appropriate for such a formal ceremony.

On the same occasion, Fayose reportedly grabbed the gavel and employed it to “pass” the budget he presented into law, which was an absurd violation of the concept and practice of separation of powers.
Now it is time for Fayose to leave office. History will judge him by the things he did while he was in power, and the things he did with power. It’s judgement time.

Politics / Presidential Primary: Dollar Rain As Saraki, Atiku, Tambuwal Divide PDP Leaders by Kayus4real: 6:00am On Oct 07, 2018
Aspirants ’ marathon meeting delays convention
• Delegates claim receiving $ 9 , 000 each
• Others share $ 5 , 000 , $ 4 , 000, $ 3 , 000, $ 2 , 500

Members of the Peoples Democratic Party , who were fortunate to be delegates at the party ’ s national convention which held in Port Harcourt on Saturday , have described the exercise as worthy.
This is because they were said to have received thousands of dollars as bribes from some presidential aspirants .

As early as Saturday morning , some of the delegates said they already had up to $9 , 000 each while they said that they were still expecting more .
The aspirants who are taking part in the primary are a former Vice President , Atiku Abubakar ; Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal ; Governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Dankwambo; a former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso ; a former Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa.
Others are the President of the Senate , Senator Bukola Saraki ; a former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark; a former Minister of Special Duties and Inter - Governmental Relations, Alhaji Tanimu Turaki ( SAN ) and a former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Jona Jang.

Also in the race are , a former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi ; a former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido and Dr . Datti Baba - Ahmed .
A particular aspirant , who had taken part in a presidential primary before , was said to have first offered the delegates $2 , 500 each in exchange for votes .

But when he heard that another aspirant offered the delegates $3000 , he increased his own to $ 4000 .
Our correspondent however gathered that the first aspirant later offered same amount of $4000 , and action that forced the man who offered $4000 to increase his own to $5000 .
Another aspirant was also said to have offered a mere $1000 .
It was also learnt that some aspirants gave out naira to the delegates , while a source said states with large delegates got N 50 m , while others with fewer delegates got less .

However , investigations by our correspondents also revealed that other aspirants had also offered unspecified amount of money to the delegates .
Two delegates from the North - West , who spoke with our correspondents on condition of anonymity , confirmed they received cash .
One of them , who showed our correspondent the envelope that contained the dollar bills , said they decided to receive the gratification as a means of getting their share of the ‘ national cake ’
He said , “ We are not going to sell our conscience because of the money. In fact, we saw it as an opportunity to collect what belong to us from these men .

Another delegate from the South - East , who also confirmed that he collected money even wished that the exercise could be called off and another one organise to enable him to make more money.
Tambuwal , Atiku , Saraki divide PDP leaders
Meanwhile, three notable presidential aspirants on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party , on Saturday night , divided the ranks of the leaders of the party on who should be supported among them to fly the party ’ s flag in the February 14 presidential election .
The aspirants are the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal , a former Vice President , Atiku Abubakar , and President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki .

The leaders of the party had earlier met with all the aspirants at the Presidential Hotel, Port Harcourt , where the need for some of them to step down was discussed .
Among the aspirants seen at the hotel were Tambuwal , Saraki, and a former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Jonah Jang .
Other aspirants were said to have been part of the meeting which was also attended by majority of the 14 PDP governors, except the governors of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa and his Ebonyi State counterpart , Dave Umahi .
Both Okowa and Umahi are holding critical positions in the electoral committee .

While Okowa is the chairman of the Special National Convention Committee, Umahi is the secretary .
A source close to the party said both men were excused in order not to affect the credibility of the outcome of the convention before Nigerians and the aspirants .
It was gathered that majority of the party leaders , former presidents and some retired generals were routing for Tambuwal .
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives was considered based on his age, his reach and acceptability even beyond the PDP.

He is also said to be enjoying the support of some of the notable traditional rulers across the country.
Atiku , on the other hand , was also said to have the backing of some members of the party ’ s Boards of Trustees and some former governors.
Saraki, a former governor of Kwara State, was also believed to have the backing of some senators and a few governors. All the aspirants were said to consider themselves as having the ability , if backed by the party leaders , to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019 .
A source , who was at one of the meetings said that the trio of Tambuwal , Atiku and Saraki were said to have the highest support of the delegates and leaders of the party .

It was however not clear whether the support of the delegates has anything to do with the inducement by any of the aspirants .
As of the time of filing this report, all the aspirants and the leaders of the party were still meeting at an undisclosed location in Port Harcourt to resolve the logjam .

A source , who was privy to the meeting , said , “ I think leaders of the party do not want to be surprised at the convention ground. They want to know and be sure that the candidate that will emerge is known before getting to the stadium .
“ This is to avoid rancour and acrimony that may work against the party during the general elections .

Politics / I’m The Only Candidate That Can Defeat APC –atiku by Kayus4real: 7:24am On Sep 30, 2018
Former Vice - President Atiku Abubakar tells SUNDAY ABORISADE his strategies to win the 2019 presidential poll if he emerges the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party

What do you think qualifies you to be Nigeria ’s President?

Atiku Abubakar has experience in both the public and private sector . As Vice President, my support for democracy is without match . My headship of the economic management team propelled the era of privatisation which stimulated the economy to grow at 7seven per cent annually.
In the private sector , I have a track record of job creation and I had created more jobs than any other aspirant . I have the ability to see opportunities and turn them to wealth creating opportunities .
I have the ability to pool the best minds together to move the country forward and has proven that both in the public sector and my private businesses .
I am a detribalised leader who sees Nigeria as his constituency .
Atiku has a great understanding of governance ; he is a person with vision, passion , policies and political will to get things done.

How do you hope to defeat others in the primaries ?

Atiku Abubakar is the one candidate with experience across the regions , states and local governments of Nigeria ; he is not the candidate of one area or denomination. He has support across Nigeria – from youth, farmers and business people . The delegates of PDP, from across Nigeria will recognise Atiku as the one candidate who can defeat the APC and bring jobs and opportunities , unity , security and development to all of Nigerians.

Do you have faith in the PDP’s ability to conduct a free and fair primary?

Yes , I have faith ; PDP is one . We should all remember that it was a PDP government that , in 2015 , held the freest and fairest elections in Nigeria ’ s history . The PDP also understands that if it is to win in 2019 , the elections must be free and fair . So , this primary will be free and fair .

What should Nigeria expect in the election if you win the primary ?

In 2015 , Nigerians voted for change and in the last three years, they have grown increasingly distressed about the change they received – job losses, businesses closed , farmers impoverished , our people being divided more than ever before and rising insecurity . Atiku Abubakar will run a campaign across all of Nigeria that begins addressing these issues . His campaign will be like his government talking and working with the states and people of Nigeria to restructure and create jobs , wealth for farmers , and business opportunities for youths and lifting Nigerians out of poverty . The campaign will be the start of getting Nigeria working again .

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: West Ham Vs Manchester United (3 - 1) On 29th September 2018 by Kayus4real: 1:27pm On Sep 29, 2018
Right, enough is enough. Mourinho has to go, his style of football is outdated and he is to stubborn to change his ways. I'm sick of this anti-football and anti-united tactics. The players don't look like they enjoy playing this style of football and he is clearly losing the dressing room. This season is over before it's even begun. Sorry Jose but you, your ego and the media circus that comes with you needs to go.

Politics / APC, PDP Pick Governorship Candidates Tomorrow by Kayus4real: 6:30am On Sep 29, 2018
Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will, tomorrow, pick the governorship candidates of the two parties for next year’s elections.
The primaries will be held in all but six of the 36 states.
Excluded are Anambra, Bayelsa, Ekiti, Kogi, Ondo and Osun states because governorship elections in those states will be held in later years.

The acting National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Yekini Nabena, said direct primaries will be used in Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Cross River, Edo, Ekiti, Imo, Kano, Lagos, Niger, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Taraba and Zamfara.

Adamawa, Benue, Borno, Delta, Ebonyi, Enugu, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto and Yobe are to use indirect primaries.
The two parties have had to adjust their timetables for the primaries several times in the last one month to accommodate inputs of various vested interest groups and to ensure rancour-free voting.
Ahead of its primaries, the APC in Lagos State yesterday commenced the distribution of identification cards to its members.
The state chairman of the party, Alhaji Tunde Balogun, led other executive members to distribute the cards at the ACME Road secretariat of the party in Ikeja.

The cards were distributed to members through selected party leaders across the different councils in the state.
Addressing the selected party leaders, Balogun said the move was to enable members participate in the governorship and subsequent primaries.
He said no fewer than 1.7 million cards were issued based on the data of members.

He appealed to the representatives to ensure the cards were delivered to registered members in their respective areas immediately, saying: ”We have carefully selected you because of your good records in your areas and because we believe you can deliver in getting these cards across to our members .
“I implore you to do your best in delivering on this assignment so that our members can get their cards before the governorship primary on Sunday.”

Balogun directed them to distribute the cards to identified party members immediately in the presence of their council chairmen and council party chairmen in their respective areas.
He said the distribution must also be done in the presence of the state executive members representing each of the 20 constitutionally-recognised councils.

The chairman said that the party arrived at the arrangement to ensure that cards do not fall into the wrong hands.
Balogun warned that for no reason should the cards be given to the wrong people and urged the leaders to return unclaimed cards to the secretariat.

He added: ”Please make sure you check the photographs on the cards before giving them out.
“We do not want a situation where these cards get to the wrong hands. In case you cannot get the owners of some of the cards, please return them to the secretariat; we will know what to do.
“And for some of you who cannot get all the cards because of bulkiness, please do come tomorrow, as that is the deadline for distribution.”

“ We will accept nothing less than the N14 . 9bn back to the state account . ”
When contacted , the Commissioner for Finance in Benue State, David Olofu , said that he was not aware of the rumoured disappearance of the money.

If you are confused as to why Beverly Osu has been on the typing hands and speaking lips of most Nigerians, here is the reason.
Prior to the photoshoot done by Beverly Osu where she was dressed as a “hot looking nun” for the cover page of the Taylor magazine, the pictures have turned out to bring more controversy from Nigerians who have refused to turn deaf ears and blind eye to the pictures.
To most, the picture is an insult to the catholic faith. To some, the photoshoot is merely an art.
After several cyber abuses towards her, Beverly Osu has come out to defend herself and the picture inclusive.
Taking to social media, Beverly has said that Reverend Fathers and sisters smoke in real life.
“In any case, reverend sisters and fathers smoke in real life which has not been established as a sin to my knowledge. Dear Nigerians I don’t do what I do for your applause…If these images came out for a movie, will it be ok? It is funny how you all just sinned because of a beautiful artistic picture: I laugh in Hebrew MATHEW 7: 1-5,” she wrote.

The eldest son of Usman Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, popularly called Amir, has been involved in an accident.

Amir, whose name means “leader” and was named after Sheik Usman Fodio, was driving at a very high speed of over 200km/hr around 12noon within Sokoto Airport Road, in an area called Bado, when the accident happened.

With him in the car were Khalifa Maccido, son of Aliyu Macciddo, and a girl he allegedly imported from Kaduna to have fun with.

Politics / I ‘ll Clinch PDP Presidential Ticket—saraki by Kayus4real: 6:40am On Sep 08, 2018
Senate President Bukola Saraki has said he is sure of emerging the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the party’s October 6 primary.
He stated that his desire to become Nigeria’s President is not just an ambition but a reality.
He, therefore, enjoined Nigerians to stop President Muhammadu Buhari’s plan to continue in office beyond 2019.
Saraki stated that “voting out Buhari is the only way to ensure national unity and security”.

The Senate President was in Owerri, the Imo State capital, to meet with PDP stakeholders ahead of the primary.
According to him, “Nigeria needs a president who would unite all parts of the country, respect national character, grow local businesses and support entrepreneurial skills”.
He said “poverty, loss of job opportunities and hardship are currently on the increase”.
Saraki further said: “Nigeria has never been this divided. People are afraid to be called Nigerians. Ethnicity and religion have taken over. There is no inclusion anymore,no fairness, no federal character.
“Businesses are dying; survival of businesses is survival of the country. Poverty is everywhere.”

He said if not for God and the masses, Buhari would have removed him as the president of the Senate three years ago.
He said: ”I will continue to fight for the masses. We have to change the leadership. We need a leadership that would ensure justice and fair distribution of national appointments. I will restore global reputation. Countries are built by hardwork and vision.
“South East people are hardworking; their entrepreneurial spirit is wonderful. As a president, I will partner South East to emerge the next tiger of Africa in business. You don’t build what you don’t have. I, therefore, appeal to the delegates to vote wisely.
“We must change Buhari with a man that has capacity, integrity and vision in order to realise our potential. I believe in restructuring that would give states the opportunity to realise their potential. I promoted made-in-Aba products. As a president, I will support local businesses.

“ We need to have a president that will ensure prosperity. I am committed to the development of South East because it is in the best interest of Nigeria. You need the president that has the youthfulness and energy to deliver.”
The Chairman of the PDP in Imo State, Charles Ezekwem, said Igbo were interested in a presidential candidate that would restructure the country and create an additional state in the South East.
Ezekwem said: “ I have seen everything positive in Saraki. His defection will ensure victory for the PDP.
“Igbo want restructuring and fairness. Saraki has the capacity, strength, pedigree, academic background to move Nigeria. “

Politics / Murder Of Commissioner In Ekiti : Two Remanded In Prison by Kayus4real: 3:58pm On Aug 27, 2018
Two men, Tajudeen Bello and Luck Solomon who allegedly murdered Mr Bunmi Ojo, Commissioner in the Federal Character Commission, were on Monday in Ado Ekiti remanded in prison on the orders of an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The accused — Bello, 22, and Solomon, 32 — are facing a two-count charge of murder and membership of a cult.
While arraigning the accused, Police Prosecutor Johnson Okunade told the court that the accused committed the offences on Aug. 14 in the state capital.

According to him, the duo conspired and murdered the politician, a personal assistant to a former governor of Ekiti, Mr Segun Oni.
The prosecutor alleged that the accused were members of a secret society — confraternity.
The offences contravened Section 319 of Criminal Code and Section 4 (1) of the Secret Cults Abolition and Prohibition of Laws of Ekiti 2012.

Okunade asked the court to remand the accused in prison pending advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Mr Chris Omokhafe, counsel to the accused, applied for bail for them but was refused by the court.
In his ruling, Chief Magistrate Adesoji Adegboye remanded of the duo in prison and adjourned the case until Sept. 19 for the DPP’s advice.

Politics / Demolition: Ajimobi, Ayefele, Alaafin In Closed Door Meeting by Kayus4real: 8:03pm On Aug 23, 2018
There are indications that the ongoing rift between the Oyo State government and the Proprietor of Fresh FM, Ibadan, Dr Yinka Ayefele would soon be over, as the popular gospel musician is currently in a meeting with Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state.
Ayefele who arrived the Agodi Governors office at about 11:30, Friday, was led in by a leading governorship aspirant on the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr. Joseph Tegbe, in company of David Ajiboye, a director with Yinka Ayefele limited, Isaac Brown, a radio host and other officials.
On arrival at the governor office, Ayefele was ushered into a private waiting area awaiting the arrival of the governor.

Upon arrival in the office, the governor however went straight into the Executive chamber, where the executive members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) were waiting.
Meanwhile, the visit of Ayefele to the Government Secretariat coincided with that of the traditional rulers from Oyo town and Oke Ogun who were at the governor office to greet the governor in the spirit of the Eid-Al-Adha festivities.
The traditional rulers numbering over thirty, made up of first class and second class from the zones were led by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.

But immediately after the meeting with the NURTW members who were on a condolence visit, the governor proceeded into the private suite to meet Ayefele and his team.
Ajimobi was accompanied into the private meeting by Oba Adeyemi, the Eleruwa of Eruwa Oba Samuel Adegbola, Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Abdulganiy Adekunle, Iba of Kishiland, Oba Moshood Aweda, Onpetu of Ijeruland, Oba Sunday Oyediran among others.
With the governor at the meeting which is ongoing as at the time of filing this report is the Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr Toye Arulogun, the Director General, Bureau of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Tpl. Waheed Gbadamosi, who also doubles as the Special Adviser to Governor Ajimobi on Physical Planning and Development Control, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Communication and Strategy, Mr Bolaji Tunji, APC guber aspirant, Tegbe and some aides.

The meeting is expected to address and proffer a political solution to the issues being generated by the partial demolition of the structure which is valued at N800million.
Controversies, kudos and knocks have since Sunday been trailing the decision of the government to demolish part of Music House building housing the radio station, located at Aare Arisekola Alao Way, Challenge Area, Ibadan.
Sources privy to the discussions at the meeting informs that the Governor who expresses willingness to let the matter lay to rest insisted that neither himself nor his government had any issue with either Ayefele as a person nor Fresh FM but with the structure housing the radio station.

According to him, the issue is a battle for the supremacy of rule or law and respect for the laws of the land.
The source added that, as expected of every entrepreneurs who should at least be politically neutral, business as such should not have friend nor enemy in the discharge of her service to the public.
The govern was said to have enjoined Ayefele and his team to mind their utterances and what people send to the public domain in their name, pointing out that that was the reason the issue had generated unnecessary heat but that such will not deter the government from doing the needful in respecting the rule of law.

Earlier, the Alaafin in a short remarks had appealed to the Governor to temper justice with mercy on the issue and allow for peaceful and amicable resolution of the matter.
Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Adeyemi with Gov Ajimobi of Oyo State during a visit of Alaafin and other Obas to Gov Ajimobi in Ibadan on Thursday
The first class monarch was quoted to have said in the appeal that allowing sound reason to prevail without laying claim to who was right and who was wrong would help douse the tension generated by the matter and foster peaceful mutual coexistence describing Ayefele as a good son, to which the governor was said to have agreed.

Ayefele was reported to have apologise to the governor acknowledging that he erred in some ways, saying all his moves to see the governor before the eventual partial demolition was unfruitful and that he regretted not coming personally to see the governor instead of doing so in writing and by proxy.
He was said to have expressed readiness for peaceful and amicable resolution of the matter in the interest of peace.
After about thirty minutes of discussion and outpouring of minds, the Governor and the traditional rulers stepped out and headed for the Government House, where the governor was expected to host the traditional rulers to a reception in the spirit of the Eid-Al-Adha festivities.
Governor Ajimobi however instructed the team of his officials to continue the meeting and come out with a mutually consented stand.
The meeting is still ongoing as at the time of filing this report.

Politics / Why We Focus On Common Man – Osinbajo by Kayus4real: 11:09pm On Aug 22, 2018
*Says Buhari administration will continue to develop more infrastructure, support Nigerians
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, has said that the Buhari administration will continue to focus on the common man and taking Nigerians out of poverty through its social investment programmes.
He however called for unity among all Nigerians.
Prof. Osinbajo said this during a townhall meeting on Tuesday in Bariga/Somolu LCDA in Lagos State to felicitate with Lagosians on the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
The Vice President, who addressed a gathering comprising APC chieftains in the state, youth groups, state government officials and the LCDA Chairmen of Somolu and Bariga, noted that the administration’s National Social Investment Programmes (N-SIP) were geared towards improving the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and publicity, Laolu Akande, Osinbajo said “The President focus has always been on the common man. So, when we came, we decided on a few things to tackle youth unemployment. First, the N-Power programme to engage as many young people who are graduates as possible.

“We started with 200,000, and just this month, we have employed another 300,000. So, in our N-Power programme, we have 500,000 young graduates who are employed in the programme. Now every local government in Nigeria has N-Power graduate.”
He added that the Buhari administration has been able to embark on the completion of more infrastructure projects and achieve more with less funds because of President’s Buhari’s honesty and the seriousness of the administration to improve the country’s fortunes.
He said, “In the past four years of the previous administration, over US$393 billion was earned in oil proceeds alone. In the past three years, we have earned US$94 billion, look at the difference. And the reasons are very straightforward. The price of oil was about half of what it used to be. But with the same $94 billion, we have been able to do far more.

“When we got into office, 24 states had not paid salaries for over six months and we ensured that these salaries were paid. And President Buhari said then, “Look, I have been a salary earner all my life, I have never done any business; the only thing I ever done is government work, either as a soldier or in government. I cannot imagine how anybody can go to sleep as a governor without paying the salaries of his workers.” So, we made sure that we paid salaries and we have done so many other things.

“In investments, look at the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway; for almost 12 years, with all that money, it was never done. Now we have set about and we are doing it, we will complete it. Also, the Lagos-Kano railway project, so many of us know that we are moving towards Ibadan now. And we are going to complete it.”
The Vice President further said the Buhari administration will continue to support petty traders and small businesses to ensure that more Nigerians are taken out of poverty.
He said, “The other thing we have done is GEEP (Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme), a micro-credit scheme for market women and others. We are doing one now for petty traders that is called TraderMoni. We have done it in Lagos we are going to do at least 100,000 in Lagos and 2 million across the country. The traders here in Bariga must benefit from it. We also have the one for people far bigger than that which is called GEEP.
Read Also: We’ll deliver credible elections in 2019 – Osinbajo
“I want to emphasize that everything we are doing, our focus, first of all, is to ensure that people are taken out of poverty. Our country is a very big; over 200 million people, many young people coming out everyday. Aside from that, we also want to ensure that anybody who is doing anything at all, who is trading, artisans, mechanics; we are able to support them.
“The reason is that when you look at the way government operates in the past; when you look at the government budget, it focuses on the middle-class, those who have industries and manufacturing plants, and those kinds of people. But the majority are at a very low level, doing little things. Those are the people that we must first of all (focus on), so that the poorest are able to do better. If the poorest do better, it would be better for all of us.” he said.

Politics / Biafra: Court Remands 112 IPOB Women In Imo by Kayus4real: 7:34am On Aug 21, 2018
One hundred and twelve women suspected to be members of the proscribed Independent People of Biafra were on Monday remanded in the prison custody by a magistrate ’ s court presided over by S . K. Durumba in Owerri , the Imo State capital .
Two of the women , including a pregnant one , slumped and were rushed to an undisclosed hospital before the commencement of the court sitting .

The women, who were arraigned on eight counts , were arrested in Owerri by the operatives of the Imo State police command on Friday for demanding to know the whereabouts of the missing IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kalu, and asking the Federal Government to conduct a referendum for an independent state of Biafra .
At the commencement of the court sitting , the police prosecutor , Thaddeus Okey , told the magistrate that he was withdrawing two out of the 10 counts .

The two counts that the police prosecutor withdrew bothered on allegation that the women belonged to a terrorist organisation .
Some of the charges read , “ That on August 17, 2018 , within the Owerri magisterial district , with intent to carry out some common purpose , assembled in such a manner as to cause persons in the neighbourhood to fear on reasonable grounds that the persons so assembled will tumultuously disturb the peace and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 70 of the Criminal Code .

“ That you conspired with others now at large to commit misdemeanour : to wit conduct likely to cause a breach of peace and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 517 of the Criminal Code .
“ That you and others now at large did in a public place , conduct yourselves in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace by unlawfully obstructing the flow of traffic and other business and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 249 ( d ) of the Criminal Code Act .

“ That you did , assemble yourselves together and publicly exhibited banners , emblems , flags or symbols of Indigenous people of Biafra and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 88 (b ) of the Criminal Code .

“ That you conspired with others now at large to commit felony to wit treasonable felony and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 516 of the Criminal Code . ”
The women, who pleaded not guilty to the charges , were represented by no fewer than 10 lawyers .
The magistrate , who refused to grant bail to the accused , adjourned until September 3 for legal advice by the attorney general of the state , stating that her court had no jurisdiction to entertain the matter.

But there was a drama while the women were waiting for the court to commence sitting , as a pregnant woman and another middle- aged woman among the accused people collapsed.
They were immediately rushed to an unnamed hospital for revival .
The development caused the police prosecutor to remove the names of the women from the charge sheet and informed the court that they would be arraigned when they regain consciousness .

Politics / Re: Saraki: Tinubu Will Support Buhari On Hospital Stretcher To Succeed Him In 2023 by Kayus4real: 5:17pm On Aug 20, 2018
ridwanomooba:
The Tinubu Rhetoric: My Response, by Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki

I have always restrained from joining issues in the media with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and this is based on my respect for him. However, I will not allow him to create a wrong, false and mischievous impression about the reasons for my decision to exit the All Progressives Congress (APC) and present his prejudice as facts for public consumption.

I have been consistent in my complaints to all leaders of the APC, including Tinubu, that a situation where the National Assembly is not constructively engaged or carried along in key policy decisions, particularly those that will eventually require legislative approval, is not in the best interest of the nation. No genuine leader of the legislature will be comfortable that the Presidency will simply write a terse letter to the National Assembly on key issues which the federal legislature is expected to later deliberate upon and give its approval. The Buhari administration consistently treats the legislature with contempt and acts as if the lawmaking body should be an appendage of the Executive. To me, this is unacceptable.

In the same way, I find it very objectionable that many stakeholders who worked strenuously to get the administration into office have now been excluded in the government and not consulted on key decisions as necessary and expected. In fact, some of them are treated as pariahs. A party that ignores justice, equity and inclusion as basic pre-conditions for peace, unity and stability cannot sustain its membership and leadership.

Let me redirect the attention of the former Governor of Lagos State to the aspect of my July 31, 2018, statement announcing my exit from APC in which I emphasized that the decision "has been inescapably imposed on me by certain elements and forces within the APC who have ensured that the minimum conditions for peace, cooperation, inclusion and a general sense of belonging did not exist".

In that statement, I further noted that those APC elements "have done everything to ensure that the basic rules of party administration, which should promote harmonious relations among the various elements within the party were blatantly disregarded. All governance principles which were required for a healthy functioning of the party and the government were deliberately violated or undermined. And all entreaties for justice, equity and fairness as basic precondition for peace and unity, not only within the party, but also the country at large, were simply ignored, or employed as additional pretext for further exclusion. The experience of my people and associates in the past three years is that they have suffered alienation and have been treated as outsiders in their own party. Thus, many have become disaffected and disenchanted. At the same time, opportunities to seek redress and correct these anomalies were deliberately blocked as a government-within-a-government had formed an impregnable wall and left in the cold, everyone else who was not recognized as “one of us”. This is why my people, like all self-respecting people would do, decided to seek accommodation elsewhere".

Tinubu himself will recall that during the various meetings he had with me at the time he was pursuing reconciliation within the APC, I raised all the above issues. I can also vividly recall that he himself always expressed his displeasure with the style of the government and also mentioned that he had equally suffered disrespect from the same government which we all worked to put in office. I also made the point that whatever travails I have gone through in the last three years belong to the past and will not shape my decisions now and in the future.

However, during those meetings, the point of disagreement between Tinubu and I is that while I expressed my worries that there is nothing on ground to assure me that the administrative style and attitude would change in the next four years in a manner that will enable us to deliver the positive changes we promised to our people, he (Tinubu) expressed a strong opinion that he would rather 'support a Buhari on the hospital stretcher' to get a second term because in 2023, power will shift to the South-west. This viewpoint of Tinubu’s was not only expressed to me but to several of my colleagues. So much for acting in national interest.

It is clear that while my own decision is based on protecting the collective national interest, Tinubu will rather live with the identified inadequacies of the government for the sake of fulfilling and preserving his presidential ambition in 2023. This new position of Tinubu has only demonstrated inconsistency — particularly when one reviews his antecedents over the years.

Again, let me reiterate my position that my uncertain and complex relationship with Tinubu has been continually defined by the event of 2014 when myself and other leaders of the APC opposed the Muslim-Muslim ticket arrangement about to be foisted on the APC for the 2015 polls. It should be noted that he has not forgotten the fact that I took the bull by the horns and told him that in the interest of the country, he should accept the need for the party to present a balanced ticket for the 2015 General Elections in terms of religion and geo-political zones. Since that time he has been very active; plotting at every point to undermine me, both within and outside the National Assembly.

It is a surprise to me that Asiwaju Tinubu is still peddling the falsehood about the fact that my defection is about automatic ticket and sharing of resources. Members of the public will recall that when the issue of my decision to quit APC came to the fore and many APC leaders were holding meetings with me, a newspaper owned by the same Tinubu published a false report about the promise of automatic tickets, oil blocks and other benefits. I immediately rebutted their claims and categorically stated that I never discussed any such personal and pecuniary benefits with anybody. My challenge that anybody who has contrary facts should come forward with them still remains open.

It should be known that Democracy is a system that allows people to freely make their choices. It is my choice that I have decided to join others to present a viable alternative platform for Nigerians in the coming elections. Tinubu and leaders of the APC had better respect this decision or lawfully deal with it. As for me, Allah gives power to whom He wishes. Human beings can only aspire and strive to fulfill their aspirations.

Signed:

Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, CON
President of the Senate

Politics / "The Desperate Agenda Of Buhari, An Evil Tyrant" - Femi Fani-Kayode by Kayus4real: 2:23pm On Aug 20, 2018
Femi fani kayode wrote on his Facebook page:

Much has been brewing in the circles of power of our nation in recent weeks. Permit me to share just some of my findings with my readers today. The rest wll come later.
Key players and leaders in the international community have warned President Muhammadu Buhari not to run for a second term but he has refused to listen. That is why he was in the United Kingdom for 16 days.

He was not ill and he was not getting treatment for any ailment but he was consulting with and trying to convince the representatives of various foreign governnents, including the American, British and French, that he can still run in 2019 and win.

My sources have confirmed ro me that those he interacted with are not convinced but he has resolved to run regardless of their skepticism.

They have asked him to probe and jail Godswill Akpabio, Tunde Fashola, Rotimi Amaechi, Rochas Okorocha and Bola Tinubu and they claim that these five, together with a number of others in his own party and government, are very corrupt. He has promised to do that after getting a second mandate.

It is at that time that he will also move against President Olusegun Obasanjo, General Ibrahim Babangida, President Goodluck Jonathan, General Aliyu Gusau, General T.Y. Danjuma, Vice President Atiku Abubakar and many others who have dared to oppose his second term bid.
As regards Governor Ayo Fayose his plan is to arrest him immediately after he steps down as Governor in October, literally during the handover ceremony, and lock him up until after the 2019 election. He intends to give him the Sambo Dasuki treatment.

Senate President Bukola Saraki, Senator Dino Melaye, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and all the others that decamped and left the APC with them to return to the PDP will not be spared.

His plans for them are equally reprehensible. He has resolved to break them, humiliate them and teach them the lesson of their lives.

And those of us that have been on the receiving end of their cruelty for the last three years will not be left out.
He has more plans for this writer as well as others like Olisa Metuh, Sambo Dasuki, El Zak Zaky, Nnamdi Kanu and all his other traducers and critics.

I gather that even Church leaders and clerics like Bishop David Oyedepo, Apostle Suleman, Bishop El Buba and others have been marked down for persecution and destruction whilst visible and loud players, commentators, writers, politicians and activists like Senator Ben Murray-Bruce,
Pastor Reno Omokri, Prince Deji Adeyanju, Hon. Boma Goodhead, Mr. Charly Boy Oputa, Mr. Yemi Adebowale, Mr. Shaka Momodu and others have also been added.
I have been reliably informed that they intend to rig the Osun, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Kwara, Plateau, Benue and Kogi state governorship elections through a perfected method and ensure that the APC wins those states regardless of the choice and preferences of the people.

After Buhari has finished with all these individuals and effecting this agenda and there is no-one left to challenge him he will turn on the Nigerian people themselves with all his vindictiveness, bitterness and venom.

He will reduce them into servitude and turn them into slaves and zombies. He will impose his Fulanisation and Islamisation agenda, bury the idea of restructuring and destroy its proponents, enthrone and empower the Fulani herdsmen and Miyetti Allah, enter a peace accord with Boko Haram and accomodate some of their demands.

He will also reduce CAN and Christians to nothing, bring the Church to its knees, wipe out Shiite Muslims and decimate IPOB members, silence all dissent, establish cattle ranches in every state of the Federation, change the constitution to make himself life President and turn Nigeria into a North Korean-style totalitarian state where his word is law and where he must literally be worshipped as Nigeria's third and final Muslim Mahdi.

Those that applaud Buhari as he violates the rights of others and inflicts pain and injury on them are naive and shortsighted.

They forget that those of us that are his critics, that oppose him, that are in the opposition and that he seeks to destroy are the only ones standing between them, the establishment of a police state and total destruction.

By the time he has finished with us he will strip the Nigerian people of all their dignity and all that is dear to them and turn them into broken souls, street urchins, filthy almajiris and the biggest beggars in Africa.

Poverty, tyranny, evil, ethnic cleansing, genocide and mass murder will stalk the land whilst the judiciary, the legislature and the fourth estate of the realm (the media) will simply do his bidding.

He will bring the entire nation to heel and Nigeria will end up being a worse place to live than Hitler's Germany and Stalin's Soviet Union.

In all this there is only one consellation and that is the fact that Buhari is not God. As they say, "man proposes and God disposes".

Buhari's plans will fail, his evil agenda will be thwarted and by the time this is all over he will know that we serve a mighty God who rules in the affairs of men.

His word says "who is he that sayeth a thing and it cometh to pass when the Lord of Hosts has commanded it not?"
As long as God has not commanded it or permitted it Buhari's purpose will not stand and his evil intentions will melt like an iceburg approaching the tropics. That is why the righteous and those of us that are the children of light and the sons and daughters of the Most High God need harbour no fear.

Those that need to fear are those that have shed innocent blood, betrayed the counsel of the Living God, tormented and robbed the Nigerian people, bowed before the tyrant and dined at the beasts table.

Those that need to fear are the useful idiots and accursed slaves that have sold their heritage for a mess of pottage and that have opted to assist the tyrant in his ungodly and unholy mission of slaughter, decimation and destruction.
As long as Jesus sits on the throne Buhari's evil plans for all those that have taken a leap of faith and have courageously opposed him shall not stand.

Those of us that have been the voice of the voiceless and stood for truth must not relent. We must continue to stand firm and strong because we have a divine obligation to resist the tyrants evil.

And no matter the price that has to be paid, that is precisely what yours truly intends to do. I urge you to join me. Together we shall bite the bullet, take the pain and endure in the knowledge that, though our oppressors may have today, we shall have tomorrow.

Dark may be the night but joy comes in the morning. Our joy will surely come, God shall prove Himself mighty and, in the end, He will make all things beautiful.

Politics / Buhari, Saraki Supporters In Shouting Match At Ilorin Airport by Kayus4real: 6:27am On Aug 20, 2018
Supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari engaged loyalists of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, on Sunday in a shouting match at the Ilorin International Airport.

Buhari supporters had gone to welcome a Kwara State governorship aspirant, Mr Moddibo Kawu, and a Labour Party governorship aspirant in the state, Mr Issa Aremu while the Peoples Democratic Party supporters were also there to welcome Saraki.

The environment was calm until female supporters of Saraki started singing the praises of the Senate President. While they sang and danced, Buhari supporters who were mainly youths, with their brooms suddenly erupted into a shout of Sai Baba. They sang loudly, raising their brooms as they eulogised Buhari while the Saraki supporters, especially women, tried to out-do them. The atmosphere became charged prompting security officials to maintain orderliness. Also some elders from both camps tried to pacify the apparently overzealous supporters and praise singers.

Kawu and Aremu, whose aircraft had landed waited for some time at the arrival hall for the atmosphere to normalise. After some time, Kawu made his way as the crowd of supporters surged towards him until he was led by security operatives into his vehicle.

Aremu later addressed his supporters.

Aremu and a former Kwara State governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Hakeem Lawal, who defected from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress called on the National Assembly to reconvene.

Lawal, who is a son of a late former Kwara State governor, Mohammed, hopes to actualise his political ambition under the APC.

Speaking to journalists in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, on the sidelines of a rousing welcome accorded to him by a crowd, he expressed his support for Buhari.

He also called on the National Assembly to reconvene to address urgent national matters, including the budget of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

He said, “If truly the members of the National Assembly really think about our nation first, then, they need to reconvene and take care of urgent national matters. This is what the people elected them to do. Let us look at the people and the nation first and stop looking at individual and self aggrandising issues. Not reconvening is not in the interest of the nation. We know that elections are coming and things need to be done; the nation needs to move forward. A nation should not stand still. They should sacrifice for the nation and reconvene.”

Aremu called for the renewal of Kwara State.

Aremu said, “Let us be hard on our problems and not on ourselves. Do not allow for any provocation over any issue.

“This is one of the oldest states in Nigeria. Kwara was established in 1967 by General Yakubu Gowon (retd) who created that time 12 states.

“But what is the reality today? There are four of these states that are still in existence: Lagos, Kano, Rivers and Kwara are the states that still retain their names. Last year, these four states marked their golden jubilee anniversary. So Kwara is 51.”
