Can a budget of N700k get me a neat 1999 or 2000 Quest.
as long as it is in great shape then mileage wont be an issue.
Looking forward to reading from you.

A man escapes from prison where he has been for 15 years. He breaks into a house to look for money and guns and finds a young couple in bed.

He orders the guy out of bed and ties him to a chair, while tying the girl to the bed he gets on top of her, kisses her neck, then gets up and goes into the bathroom. While he's in there, the husband tells his wife:

"Listen, this guy's an escaped convict, look at his clothes! He probably spent lots of time in jail and hasn't seen a woman in years. I saw how he kissed your neck." If he wants sex, don't resist, don't complain, do whatever he tells you. Satisfy him no matter how much he nauseates you. This guy is probably very dangerous. If he gets angry, he'll kill us. Be strong, honey. I love you."

To which his wife responds: "He wasn't kissing my neck. He wwas whispering in my ear. He told me he was gay, thought you were cute, and asked me if we had any Vaseline. I told him it was in the bathroom. Be strong honey. I love you too!!"

Car Talk › Re: Have You Bought A Ride From Coutonou? -share Ur Experience Pls! by kblastic(f): 7:25pm On Aug 12, 2011
femmy2010:
A buyer can go with his clearing agent to view the payment and documentation process.

Officially, only 2 occupant is allowed to sit in a newly cleared vehicle from the Cotonou park/Port to Seme.Idiroko border and yes your agent can go in a commercial vehicle while you seat in your vehicle with the Beninese driver while been driven to the border.
And yes,you can stay at the border with your dealer till clearing process on Nigeria end is completed to ease tension.

[b]
Note.
Different people has different reasons they choose to buy or clear a car from Cotonou.

1 They want to see vehicles they intend to buy as it is and not repaired ones sold by some sellers in Lagos.
2 They want to save money buy skipping Duty payment.
3 They know that no where in Nigeria can they get an agglomeration of various vehicles in a singular location and want to make a pick from those very many available buy options.
4 Some Nigerians ship their vehicles to Cotonou to skip paying high clearing cost that is associated with Lagos ports.e.g it cost above N1m to clear a 2010/2011 Camry and a budget under N500k would clear it in Cotonou and safely "smuggled" into Nigeria(With Owner's approval).
5 Vehicles older than 15 years are not dutiable and officially not allowed to come into the Country so they buy from Cotonou and have it smuggled in.
6 Some want to buy their desired vehicle and be sure the correct duty is paid and duly cleared to prevent any possible harassment by customs or any other security agencies.
6 It cost cheaper to have a vehicle shipped to Cotonou and for the singular reason that importers do not have to pay clearing fee means they can afford to sell a vehicle for as cheap as they like anytime.

My Advice

If your plan is to buy a vehicle from Cotonou and get it duly cleared by Customs at the point of entry into Nigeria with your primary aim of still "saving money" compared to what is obtainable in Lagos/Nigeria market then i do say BUY IN LAGOS.
Why?The same duty charged at the sea ports is what is charged at the borders meaning it would give you same buying cost after duty must have been paid.

BUT if saving cost is not the main factor of choosing buying from Cotonou but to be sure you are buying a vehicle with clean title and duty accurately paid then the famous Cotonou auto market is waiting for you.

You only save money when the vehicle is smuggled in thus skipping duty payment.

So again,the choice is yours.

am satisfied wit d avalon you got me and b sure more patronage wud cum 4rm my end.

Politics › Re: 2 Year Rents Banned In Lagos, Landlords To Be Jailed For 3 Years. by kblastic(f): 11:36pm On Aug 06, 2011
dis is a welcome development.
D government is not stipulating D amount to charge month but simply said they should take one year rent in advance which i think is fair enough for both parties except of-course greedy landlords dat want to make full return for a suppose long time investment in 3 years.
Someone talked about hiking cement prices and i ask if Fashola but d federal government has a final say in dat.
Kudos to Fashola and i do want other states to emulate this.

Autos › Re: Auto Dealers With Integrity On Nl by kblastic(f): 7:06pm On Jun 29, 2011
Fhemmmy:
I will advice that you contact the dealers one after the other, and get quotes.
Afterwards, use that to eliminate one or 2.
Then, go through their threads to analyze.
This might help you to make a decision . . .  will be hard for 3rd party to tell you who to deal with. . .  there are bunch of them that seems to be good, though, yet to have any dealings with any
Good luck
Thanks sir,i would do as you adviced.how much can you get me a 1999 toyota camry to PH.a tokunbo ?

Politics › Re: To All GEJ Supporters - Do You Regret Your Vote? by kblastic(f): 10:36am On Jun 21, 2011
ama27:
Following the elecetions , there was so much hype about how GEJ is 'different' , 'fresh' , 'a good man' in fact the most people used to say ' i voted GEJ and not PDP' - do you still really think so?
The fact that he is a returning president also means things should be carried out faster.

Already all sorts of events have started to unfold:

1. The unfortunate incident with NYSC corpers

2. Kidnap of NYSC corpers

3. That kidnappings happen the whole of Nigeria and not  the Niger Delta anymore ( and now to Nigerians - young and old)

4. The oils spills and the inability of the govt to ensure the compensation is right, remedial action is taken and that the money actually gets to those affected. This is despite the fact that our President is from the region and has also been in state govt so he should know the issues by heart.

5. Boko Haram - has metermophed into a group of intelligent, educated peeple ( see latest press release from them) as opposed to initial police intel of a sharia sect .

6. The fact that it took MR President over 24 hours to address the nation following the Police HQ bomb and assure Nigerians of their security.

7. The increased armed robbery in banks

8. Bombings has now become a common occurence in Nigeria ( all over even those not detonated - Ogun) as well various bomb scares

9. That a U turn was made about the PDP 'zoning ' policy  and the fracas that ensued in the House

10. That will be a month next week and the cabinet is still not in place. - We are already seeing signs of recycling in the name being mentioned - will wait for outcome.

11. The consistent decline in electricity generation. - We all know NO economy can grow without power

12. Bankole - His ability to resist arrest and still  have security staff assigned to him , our President quoted as referring to him as a key supporter and didnt want anyone spreading rumours. Also the fact that he was only arrested when GEJ was to meet Obama ( he has now been released and since then we havent heard anything else)

13. The take by legislators to increase wages when the 18000 minimu wage cant even be paid ( never mind the fact that there is great concern about their current wages and the recent missappropriation case)

To all my fellow Nairalanders that voted /supported GEJ do you think you made the right decision?
Yes i made the right decision.
