Politics › Re: Groups Adopt Chukwumerije’s Speech As Igbo Roadmap For 2015 by kcjazz(m): 12:23am On Oct 11, 2011
I thought he is in PDP, he could start by switching to MASSOB

The Igbos should therefore incorporate the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) into its system to ensure that an Igbo emerges as President of Nigeria [in 2015]."

Am I missing something here, cos I thought MASSOB was for Biafra, what the heck is 2015 Presidency?, you don't win the game if you don't make up your mind where you want to be.

Meanwhile, I would love to hear his "Marshall Plan" speech on why Abia State is firing non-indigenes plus including (apologies Chief Zebrudaya) the Igbos, and why hasn't Ohanaeze even released a press statement on that? I imagine if a Northern Governor tried that we would have a big speech by now.

Speech or no speech, all na English. Group that adopted are jobless. The problems of NdiIgbo can be solved if we want to, very simple if I may add.

Is it one per polygamous wife or per dad? grin

In as much as it sounds like a good policy, we must remember that the average life span in Nigeria is at 48 years (one of the lowest in the world) and hence folks won't give birth to one if they know small malaria or tetanus could kill him.

Me thinks education is a great way to drive this policy, as usual have more girls educated and solve all this issues. On the governent, part improve healthcare for kids

When people print disclaimers on newspapers, most likely it is an issue related with fraud or terrorism (Abdumutallab),maybe the young girl has done a shady deal with the fathers name and father landed in a jail for no reason other than next of kin issue.
Sad for the family but who knows which kind torture the family has being through.

Nobel Prize for what sef?
If there was one for hate, corruption, pride and aso ebi, then maybe we could get one but it doesn't add any value to us.

Nigerians and their pride, this women never started with a Nobel Prize in mind, they wanted the best for their community, and just because the world recognises them today does not mean they started yesterday.

If a Nigerian gets a cure for cancer, they will get a prize
If a Nigerian solves Boko Haram without military intervention, they will get a prize
If a Nigerian gets all the millions of kids to school, they will get a prize.

The opportunities are there, we just need folks who will look beyond tribe and do what matters

Our society is in need of so many things and the earlier we get down from our high horse and appreciate others the better. Stop all this useless comparisms and start something today @poster, you could get a prize in future tongue and even if you don't we can use your money to create one for you

i will not bother translating it for you

Calm down tiger!

I support agriculture as a great way to help the local economy but the problem goes deeper than just demand/supply

In the past 50 years, Peak Milk #1 milk brand in the country, have being in Nigeria they import their milk from Netherlands, why not from the Fulani's?
Lack of cows?

The last livestock census in Nigeria shows that we have more cows than say New Zealand, (an ideal example of a country that is making agric foreign exchange) yet New Zealand is 8th Milk producer while Nigeria is no where. Of course certain species produce milk more than others plus animal health/nutrition but it is an infrastructural issue that goes beyond what our government can provide.

The reason those in the South of Nigeria can eat meat is because cows are transported alive rather than processed compared to milk, if not na fish

We need roads, storage, quality and technology innovation/education, all this, China and India can provide for us through FDI, I am glad the Chinese want to build the Lagos-Kano rail, hopefully we have something like Tanzam railways.

Again for economic growth, you need productivity and exports helps with that, at least you wouldn't drink Fura with cornflakes.

More so, you also fail to understand that until we sort out our land reforms, it will be tough to feed ourselves without imports. So what I say is China and India wants to invest and they do that differently asking for results from the government, we let them do it in order to achieve our goals in Agriculture.

On the other hand, we can't depend on African market until the high tariffs are sorted out, huge market but due to lack of foresight its strangulating itself.
Everyone is afraid of Chinese domination, but to me the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages at this time.

You might choose to disagree but feeding ourself doesn't come without huge investments, hence China and India (willing spenders)
Politics › Re: Advantages Of Nigeria's Population. by kcjazz(m): 12:21am On Sep 27, 2011
Huge market for goods and services, only problem is we can't scale to take full advantages especially with tribal and religious sentiments. Only leadership, education and time will solve.

we can create plenty of jobs without foreigh investment. if there is security and rule of law NIGERIANS will invest in nigeria. question is why are not nigerians investing in nigeria. it is a myth that economy can only grow though exports.

the economy can grow through internal demand and jobs can be created if we stoppped importing a lot of the rubbish we import from china. stop/reduce importing sugar ,breakfast cereals.tinned tomatoes chicken, turkey, fish and rice. these are all things that can be produced in nigeria in large quantities.

we need to realise that the only countries we can really trade with right now are african and believe me there are no greater opportunities any where else.

if we are waiting for so called FDI we will wait till Jesus and muhammad return holding hands

we are not going to become industrialized overnight. rather we should focus on agriculture and try to produce more of what we consume. look at any nollywood movie it tells you what we are about when you look at all those "marvelous homes" consumption, consumption consumption. guess what all that consumption = jobs in china, japan, korea, USA etc.
So you are saying we should stop exporting crude oil as well? And rather use them in Nigeria and we will solve our problems?
We already have FDI in Nigeria, so it is not a myth however we need more. We can be FDIs in other African countries as well.
Business › Re: World Bank To Assist Fg On Job Creation - Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala by kcjazz(m): 12:35am On Sep 25, 2011
Truth be told we cannot create jobs without investments and especially Foreign Direct Investments; this is where China or any other country comes in and FDI is an engine to economic growth. All the government has to do is protect workers from shylock companies and maintain a level playing field for local entreprenuers.

Almost all goods in Europe ships from Asia, but the sad truth is Africa is closer to Europe and we are missing an opportunity in the big league, we provide an incentive for companies to cut costs while they employ more folks, transfer skill sets/technology, open the market for local entreprenuers. Government is not employing anyone just leveraging on World Banks connection and credibility. Way to go!

Politics › Re: What Is So Difficult In Road Building? by kcjazz(m): 11:28pm On Sep 21, 2011
A lack of planning and inconsistent quality standards. The FG under Obasanjo banned toll gates because the proceeds were being siphoned. The bigger and arbitrary the project, the more likely for corruption to succeed.

All we have to do is have a national road code just like a building code, a national road network and price/cost based on Kilometer of roads covered. No one will feel marginalized and we can measure value and cost.

As far as we don't have those, some places will have good roads cos of connection rather than commercial activity and the cycle will continue.

Our values should help us come together, make us treat each other better, help us build the bonds of brotherhood; help us reject the temptation to cheat each other. Our values and character are the critical ingredients we need to forge ahead as a people. A few of us have given our people a bad name through their selfish actions. But I believe it’s time for us to reject the bad name by categorically rejecting the negative values that have also contributed to stopping us from putting our best foot forward. There is no better time than now.

On this forum, folks argued that Governor Rochas Okorocha's cabinet was too big plus Chief Comedian of the State office grin, why are this achievements a surprise? Infact me thinks he has underachieved considering the 100 projects/per cabinet numbers but am not surprised. The government stated clearly that projects like the Okigwe Market are just at an initial stage to commence this month or October and folks are asking for pictures?

Pictures don't tell any story, we can have Owerri/Onitsha road pictures but it says nothing, it doesn't tell us how much spent? Cost of human lives wasted? Or even why did it take 10 years for the FG?

The real question should be at what cost? How efficient and effective to the Imo people? How many folks will be employed by the rehabilitated industries? etc not pictures, Ohakim deceived us with pictures.

I am a Rochas supporter and I believe in what he can achieve but I prefer numbers.

Arsenal Kiev is different from Arsenal FC, just like Manchester City and Manchester United. The question in the court is whether a customer will be confused with the two business services. Arsenal Kiev will be sued if they sell merchandise under the Arsenal FC name, Kiev must be mentioned during match broadcasts

If tommorrow you start an IT company and name it Apul, Akpu etc, it sounds like the real Apple Inc, you will be sued

Let me leave some questions to whom it may concern.

2.
Record revenues with a 20% reduction in debt

We were waiting for Man U to cave in so our prudent financial policies would be hailed as the best model. But wait, did i just see reports of them slashing their debts by over 20% in just one year ?

Manchester Utd are far ahead of Arsenal especially with their success on commercial revenues. Arsenal has not lost its way, in fact we are closing the gap and it helps also with trophies cool #3 in Europe according to Forbes.

The club is looking at different means to improve income especially commercially, we lag behind in Europe. More so there are opportunities in social media and overseas. This is why fast tracking Miyachi and Ji Park will help on the Asia front.

Good income for Manchester Utd though, but again they have the Singapore stock exchange deal coming up so the accounts have to look good. I expect Arsenal make similar profits or lower cos of Champions league, but all in all the club is healthy financially, only problem is converting its goodwill into income and that s the real challenge.
