Folks use "Gods will" to get out of tight situations and even break a guy/ladys heart ![]() The most important question should be about Who are you and What are you bringing to a relationship? . What are you bringing to the market? Ask God for discernment, because its not like if God gives his will that we are always glad to follow it. What if he is blind or she has one leg? You need to trust that God is on your team and hence whatever decision good/bad is for a good end. Some decisions might look good today and bad for the future or vice versa. Discernment to see a glimpse of the bigger picture is very important. |
Me think, the real question should be Who are you and What are you bringing to the relationship? . You look and desire for the perfect person and it turns out you disqualify yourself because of your imperfections ![]() I still need a grenade catcher though ![]() |
From this video Creflor Dollar is not condoning any "wreck", all he is saying is that Christians must be at the forefront of forgiving when others miss their way plus Pastors. Eddie Long has being a pastor to his flock, that includes praying and sharing the word of God with them, if he misses his way, the same people should not deny him rather they must pray and seek help for him. First off every sin is sin. Yeah, forgiveness is tough, but it is what God has called us to do. How can we practice if we choose the convenient situations to forgive? A Pastor is not like a President or a Medical Doctor so the issue of resignation in God's work should be left in the hands of the one who called Him, His Creator. From outside we never know what God has done for him, maybe his prayer for humility has being answered. |

@Poster If this are the same jobs that folks paid to get into, then seek redress with the courts and NLC, considering the shady circumstance surrounding the jobs. You need your refunds and compensation from the Imo State Government. It should be illegal for anyone to pay for job applications. However, it is not possible to get your the "jobs" back. |
Eziachi:Haha Oga Eziachi, glad to know. I never attended this schools but my folks talk about them like mini-Havards of the old days plus CKC Onitsha, gives me so much pleasure. Do you have old boys association? You guys should do something to restore the glory. Meanwhile, for the funding aspect. Here is the official disbursement to states by the UBE program, it shows that indeed as I believe education should be free in all states under 5 million pop, Lagos can take care of itself lol . I am sad that this moneys are in trillions in the past 5 years, so when we talk free education it is every childs right first plus for Nigeria it is never about money. Data is 2005-2010 and yet some foolish states have not even collected their own like WTH!Disbursed funds http://ubeconline.com/Pre/disbursement%20AS%20AT%2031st%20MAY,%202011.pdf Unaccessed funds http://ubeconline.com/Pre/unaccess%20AS%20AT%2031st%20MAY,%202011.pdf UBE Website http://ubeconline.com/financial_records.html State governments need to step up, it is sad what am seeing and even Imo has not taken all their funds |
violent:The money is here, now it is a new question. First off, Imo State has the highest literacy rate in Nigeria. Meaning: Someone is passing their JAMB and getting the minimum 5 credits. Quality is relative, it not like it is Katsina or Boko. The issue of quality is not buildings or computer, it is an institutional problem in Nigeria. However, Rochas Okorocha has a plan to re-train and improve teachers quality. Programs such as the Teach-The-Teacher Program (TTP) will handle that aspect. To the best of my knowledge, no new schools are being built rather schools will be upgraded and modernized. Bring back the glory of Bishop Shanahan, Holy Ghost college etc Cost of Primary/Secondary not sure since the UBE still operates in some states and it is relative to what Rochas brings which is uniforms, books, lunch etc (which Rochas has experience on running his schools). Again for Imo, the idea is not just free education for sexy sake it is for every poor kid to go to school irrespective of poverty. And a law will be sent to Imo Assembly to make it illegal if your kids stay home. violent:As mentioned above, a bill will be sent to Imo Assembly regarding education. The issue of continuity is more in the hands of Imo citizens, there will always be a candidate who will want to cut spending. Rochas role is to set up a system to ensure the goal is achieved and funding provided. By slashing the security votes he has started that process. Security votes is even unconstitutional but someone is putting to good use. Free education is not the only issue facing Imo but we love our schools and religion ![]() Rochas has a plan for a 100MW power plant, Free healthcare for kids and adults over 65 plus improving our ailing industries, get Imo back into Agriculture production. This are the key areas for the Imo recovery. It is not an easy task but it must be done and we the people will hold him accountable. |
jason123:@Jason, so yes Azikiwe failed due to lack of planning in 1958. My mum was 2 years old in 1958, things have changed. You ask for data, Rochas runs 4/5 schools in different regions of the country and you sincerely think he is clueless about how much it costs to run the schools per income? Again the issue, is not just free education, the state is trying to cut its drop out rates so that no kid will fail to go to school because the parents can't afford it. In this age and time, that is a good thing to do. Funny enough, some folks here supported Buhari and this was the same thing he was going to do with strengthening the UBE and raising budget allocation to 15%, even based on income that would have cost the FG more per child nationally but yet that is good and Imo's is bad. Skepticism will not build our country. Give people a benefit of a doubt, for God's sakes he is only a week old! Jason you use to be cool but NL has infected you ![]() |
They keep pushing the date, now it is 2030 . Hopefully, we will get there |
jason123:How is it show face statement? Do you know something the Governor doesn't know? This should be the norm nationally for a nation with one of the lowest life expectancy rates in the world. |
For me Imo - Agriculture, Silicon valley Taraba - Tourism, Agriculture (mainly cash crops) Cross River - Tourism, Agriculture, Bio-diversity (if that makes money) Love center ![]() Kano- Commercial hub Jos - Tourism and vacation center, Real Estate Abia- Manufacturing |
dayokanu:DK maybe he is an Arsenal fan. Will that change anything ![]() |
This thread will soon be flooded by "where is he going to get the money?" folks ![]() |
violent:This your comment is funny. Does Mayor of New York Micheal Bloomberg receive a salary as New York mayor? As an Imo State indigene, the issue is not even Rochas, it is where we have being and how things have happened since 1999. Rochas is a philanthropist but first a successful business man with businesses in Imo State so we are not talking of some unknown fellow showing up. He didn't have to promise free education to win election, he could have won free & fair. I don't even feel thats a big deal because of the high literacy rates in Imo. Every leader is different, Sanusi is different from Fashola, no two folks are the same. Rochas is different in his approach, he is not giving alms and has never promised that. If Jigawa State with less than half GDP of Imo State plus more population will offer free education to its girls then why is free education for Imo seen as a philanthropic gesture? Only issue is we can't see the future but all we can do is keep our government honest. There are times when you need symbols to show your intentions, (engagement ring ) this move is a symbol and won't hold water if he fails to achieve. |
Yesterday it was Maitasine, today it is Boko Haram. Tommorow ? To solve this issue short term, dialogue with the right folks (not giving amnesty) plus improve security. I am more interested in the long term, the core problem is poverty and a collapse of the Northern industry, not bigotry or Islam, the government needs to device a strategy to emphasize education for more girls/females in the North to fight this problem and change the face of the North. It will require guts to change the current culture but it is the price we have to pay for neglect |
Kobojunkie:There is nothing to cut from, rather reducing corruption and eliminating waste will be the key. Of course the state will look to improve its income but an investment of N500 million yearly will achieve this goal. Coming from one in the education sector, I believe Rochas has his numbers and will make it happen. The main issue is even reducing drop out rate numbers in Imo plus this is for Primary/ Secondary only. I believe most states less than 5 million population in Nigeria can achieve this goal with the right political will. |
@Jason Where are these Governors (Rochas and Amosun) going to get the money from?? All of them are just shouting "FREE EDUCATION" as if teachers are just going to work without getting paid. SMH @ the lack of planning or better still, deceit! For Imo State, the government spends about 10% of its income on civil service pay. Imo has one of the highest literacy rates both male and female in the country. If they put in 15%-20% of state income then it can be achieved for its population size. The question now is quality and also what does free entail but overall it is very achievable. Rochas says it includes uniform, food, books and even with that they will meet the costs. So lets wait and see. |
If he can take responsibility & stop bomb/ethnic killings for the next 6 months without mentioning Buhari/Chuck Norris/God/Witches etc Plus if he can allow EFCC do there work, even a blind man knows that some folks need to be in jail next week. Eg. If Ikiri Ohakim is still a free man next month, then wahala dey ![]() |
Well it is good we are not fighting any war If they buy or donate new one it could get missing. At least we have never found that missing ship that disappeared a few years ago. No market for old ships, so no incentive to steal lol |
joecrack:People have a right to be skeptical at every move of the FG, it is now GEJs duty to prove them wrong. African leaders are dangerous especially the ones that come into the office with a high goodwill from voters. 25 years ago, GEJs Ugandan friend said: The problem of Africa in general and Uganda in particular is not the people but leaders who want to overstay in power ~ Yoweri Museveni 1986 And as you know, he is still there. God bless Nigeria |
I have followed Sule Lamido, for quite sometime and I believe that he is very interested in running for President in a short time but am impressed with what he has done |
dayokanu:Here is a link, for Porto in 2003/2004 season. More than 16 players were bought almost half of them formed the nucleus of the team that played Monaco in 2004. This are not academy players, most of them were Professionals already in the game including our African brother Benny Mccarthy. Amount= 12 million (Porto are cheap folks, thats how they roll) http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/fc-porto/transfers/verein_720.html Ajax team in 1995, 23 years average age, one of the youngest, most members graduated from Ajax academy, have learnt to play the Ajax way from when they were babies plus they spent on Finidi, Kanu, and other veterans. Manchester United average age 26/27 years, Van Der Sar, veteran from the above Ajax 1995 class above, Evra Monaco 2004, Giggs/Scholes Champions lg 1925 , average squad age and cost well above Arsenal FC. Plus Barcelona will still win them sha ![]() |
dayokanu:Yes they have punched above their weights when you consider of course you know what I will say money invested/transfers, experience (average age) and probably risk exposure (injury prone). This are verifiable data and statistics. AW would have become a Mini God if he wins trophies for the past 5 years with what he has but he couldn't and that is totally expected. Not making excuse for a lack of trophies, I just believe people should be judged based on the relevant criteria that applies to them. You don't pay the money for a Corrolla and expect a Lexus service, even if they are both made from the same Toyota factory! |
snowdrops:There is no balls to grow for Arsenal, Ancellotti did not meet his target (statement from Chelsea FC) even after spending over $70 million for the season. This shows that Chelsea has underachieved and with the number of coaches in 5 years, Abramovic has not seen good return on his investments. If trophies were everything as some folks claim then why has Chelsea fired 2 Champions League winners in 5 years? It goes back to my argument that AW review is not based on just trophies (maybe for some fans, Yes) but to the board, No, but considering his resources and time invested, Arsenal has punched above its weight. Chelsea runs a different business model even if it is wasteful, in the past 5 years they have spent huge sums on hiring and firing coaches, you call that success? I call it money miss road. This is why I feel that Roman will sell this club in the near future. By the way congrats to Birmingham, they won the CC but they got relegated |
enyojo:I understand how we love parties and celebration but again its not unconstitutional if he says lets do it in Aso Rock. He could even add a PR spin to it "Due to the violence that preceded this elections and the enormous national challenges ahead, I GEJ will ask for a low key event for my inauguration" His fans will love him and raise to high heavens but again this is small money for politicians to spend. haha I even wish I got the contract to supply heavenly flowers |
Wouldn't it be nice if Mr. President says lets forgo long thing and just do this in Aso Rock, no time for long speeches? If this document is true, which kind flower will cost N3 million 1 week to the day of event? https://www.saharareporters.com/sites/default/files/uploads/pres_inauguration_Page_2.jpg |
People often think the nick name Prof is because he understand the game or play a good brand of football fa fa fa fowl according to zebrudaya of the new masquerade, When Arsene Wenger arrived at Highbury in the autumn of 1996, it was as if he had fallen to earth from a distant planet. He spoke English fluently, he knew about football, but there was something mysterious about him. In those days, he wore wire-framed glasses; he was very tall and alarmingly thin. He had been living in Japan and was reserved and rather fastidious. He had a degree in politics and economics from Strasburg University. He neither talked nor looked like a football manager, but rather resembled an MEP, switching between languages with ease. The Arsenal players, most of whom were then English, knew what to call him: "the Professor". Rival fans, because of his unsettling difference, also knew what to call him and their insults were brutal and wounding, in the English way Shikena!!!
Your point? And that comment in praise of AW was from Tony Adams, the man that AW helped extend his career and who is following the same philosophy in Gabala Fc. Every club and business has a model that works for it. Measure results against their model not on others or the ones you think is best. Chelsea hasn't achieved much per money invested or even Manchester City. This are verifiable facts with numbers. We can't measure what could have being if Arsenal did not build a stadium or revert to a robust fully commited youth policy. We do know AW won trophies for a club at 12th position when he came in, people can claim the league was less competitive but again Manchester UTD won trophies then as well so lets not make such arguments. Today after 57 years Lille has won the French league, trophy droughts are not a misnomer they are a fact of life and Arsenal's was done for a good reason. |
I think people need to understand what football club ownership means and the reason why chicken change(tashere) made by Arsenal sounds like big money to all of us. Football club ownership allows you to use your club and borrow money and invest in mega businesses, your club might make losses but the money you borrowed and invested with the club's name elsewhere in country that has a better tax regime will cover for that. Do you guys think Abramovic will jump high if Chelsea makes $20million profit? Small cash but anyway the truth is Wenger is using making money to cover his deficiencies but I don't blame him because in the current competitiveness we are seeing in football in the world today, Wenger is definitely a Grade B coach who hasn't won anything except making few cash here and there
Says who? Tell that to the Anti-Glazer fans at Man UtdAnd why did Abrahamovic sign to participate in UEFA financial guidelines even if as you claim he is ready to splash cash. No business person wants to lose his investment. If your argument holds water then Fiorentina in Italy would never have gone bankrupt, they had the fans, great city and players. haha for a grade B coach as you claim, AW has definitely over achieved, he has reformed the English league even though he is French and good thing is if he is fired today he will get not a Bolton or Stoke, but definitely a higher club in Europe. Those who understand the game know |
batiatus:The problem with Arsene Wenger must go argument is that you have those who want trophies (nothing bad in that) and those who want a healthy financial club= Good management of money will lead to trophies and then those who want both. In recent times, Lyon in France has done both but even now they are in red. I believe AW yearly board review in the past 6 years has never being about trophies if not they would have sacked him. The board had a dream and AW was a willing partner, even the years of trophy winning was part of the strategy towards creating an identity and moving to a new stadium. It is difficult to make profit and win trophies due to the effects of globalization. Any one can make revenue including Migthy Jets of Jos but it takes deliberate hard work to make profits. You look at the the top European leagues, the clubs that turn a profit don't win trophies. Italy, France etc You talk of risk taking and I tell you as a club, Arsenal and Wenger has taken a huge risk as a business considering that stupidity runs soccer clubs. Have mistakes being made? Yes we all do. Will trophies come? For me I will get impatient after 10 years (6 yrs now) but I doubt it will take that long considering the fact that I feel Arsenal has being punching above their weight in the past 5 years. |
