Politics › 2019: If You Attempt To Rig Elections In Rivers, you Rig Your Life by kcmichael(op): 9:54am On Jan 01, 2018 |
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has warned the APC against rigging in the 2019 election.
He gave the warning on Saturday when he received hundreds of APC decampees from Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area at the Government House, Port-Harcourt.
Wike expressed confidence that with the level of projects delivery in Rivers State, it will be difficult for anyone to rig elections.
His words: “If you attempt to rig elections here, then you rig your life. You can’t rig election and go free.
“It is not possible. You want to steal somebody’s vote, anything you see, take it. Robbery is robbery.
“Instead of using resources to execute projects, they are keeping the money to bribe military and police for rigging”, he said.
The governor wondered why the APC Federal Government is unable to organise a peaceful and credible election.
He further announced that the State will hold her Local Government election in 2018.
On the defection, Governor Wike commended the APC decampees and assured them that they will enjoy equal opportunities with existing PDP members.
Rivers State PDP Chairman, Bro Felix Obuah welcomed the APC defectors, noting that they would contribute to more victories of the PDP in the state.
Also speaking, Senator Adewari Pepple said that the defection is due to outstanding performance of Governor Wike which attracted the APC Members.
Responding, the Arthur Jaja, Chairman of APC Caucus in Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area said the qualities of Governor Wike convinced them on the need to defect.
He said their defection signals the death of APC in the Local Government Area.
Also speaking, President, Vanguard of Opobo Nation (VON) said that the defection marks a new dawn in the politics of the locality.

The governor said: “The only way they get recognition from the Federal Government is by insulting Wike. Apart from that, they are finished politically.
“They must tell Rivers people what they have attracted to the state. After two and half years, they are unable to attract any project”.
He said that the Director General of NIMASA and Minister of Transportation have nothing to show to Rivers people except their capacity to insult Wike

yenboy: Sometimes i look at this president Buhari Son and i will laugh, honestly i wish him quick recovery but still i will continue to say the bitter truth the way it is which Nigerians do not want to hear Your Father President Buhari is a wicked man, very evil to the core, he is a dictator per excellence, your father is a notorious killer and for this reasons, i am saying It serves general Buhari right. What goes around comes back around, there is no way we can eat our cake and have it.
Let me take us down memory lane, all through Buhari service to Nigerians starting from military head of state to this day as a rig civilian president he is not tired ruling Nigerians with iron hand. As at when he was a military head of state, he took lives of innocent Nigerians, He came back 2015 thinking he has changed but unknowing to us Nigerians he became the worst, as a civilian president that is if he is one because as far as am concerned he is not and can never be, he still went on and senselessly killed innocent Igbo's (fellow citizens) all in the name of crushing IPOB. see ehn ma pipo, no body can cheat natured o, our people talk say the evil that men do leave with them and after them o again we shouldn't forget in an hurry that whosoever killed by the gun shall die by the gun.
The problem with Nigerians is that we are afraid to say the bitter truth the way it is, just because we are afraid to die by the unknown, see ehn president Buhari is a notorious killer per excellence and killing has been part of him. it runs in his vein, sometimes i don't know were Nigerians drop their brains?
Could we imagine today Nigerians back home we condemn seat tight syndrome going on in other countries in Africa meanwhile it escape our memory that what is happening all this while in Nigeria is the junior brother of seat tight syndrome(power drunk) therefore the likes of buhari has lose touch with reality, he is not fit to lead Nigeria anymore.
Today every Nigerian dey suffer o cause by dictator buhari stone age administration, but don't be surprised come 2019 again Nigerians regardless of the suffering buhari is showing them, they will still go on and vote him into power honestly i have never seeing people who are so addicted with bad leadership. Since buhari came into power all waiting we dey here na blame upon blame, very soon na Lai Mohammed go come out come talk say na because Dr Goodluck no do the road well that is why evil president buhari son get accident meanwhile this government don dey power dey go four years, no result rather than apportioning unnecessary blames while Nigerians continue to die in the hands of poverty and hardship.
Buhari is a dictator. And if we mistakenly vote Buhari into power again trust me what will befall on Nigerians across board will be disastrous, Nigeria will be doom.

Politics › 2019 Elections: PDP Vows To Reclaim All States After Ekiti Victory by kcmichael(op): 8:27am On Dec 27, 2017 |
The Peoples Democratic Party has vowed to reclaim the governorship seats in all its original states in the forthcoming general elections.
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan, said this in a statement issued by him on Tuesday after the PDP recorded a landslide victory at the Local Government (LG) election in Ekiti State.
He noted that Nigeria’s south-west region has always been a PDP stronghold, stressing that the party has been repositioned to retake the governorship of all states in the region and the northern parts of the country.
Ologbondiyan was confident that his party would also reclaim the Presidency and win the majority seats in the National Assembly, come 2019.
He added that Nigerians have since seen through the “deception and incompetence” of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and are “very eager” to kick out the ruling party at all levels of government.
On the Ekiti LG polls, the PDP spokesman said the sweeping victory was a clear and firm evidence of the party’s popularity not only in the state but also in the entire south-west region and Nigeria at large.
He also described the election as credible, free and fair, adding that” “the landslide victory is a direct response by the people to the achievements of the Governor Ayo Fayose-led PDP government, in line with the ideology, vision and programmes of the party”.
On behalf of the PDP, Ologbondiyan thanked the people of Ekiti State for their unrelenting support and asked the newly elected officials to reciprocate the gesture.
He asked them to work hard to ensure that the people continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy as already consolidated by the governor.
The party also congratulated Governor Fayose on the victory and urged PDP members across the country to redouble their efforts in mobilising for future elections, particularly, the 2019 general elections.

Politics › Breaking:wike Advises APC To Apologise For Executing Evil Against Rivers People by kcmichael(op): 9:47pm On Dec 26, 2017 |
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that unless the All Progressives Congress, APC, federal government and her agents apologise for plotting and executing evil against Rivers State, they will continue to falter in governance.
He spoke on Boxing Day during a Special Meeting with Bolo people at the Bolo Civic Centre, Ogo/Bolo Local Government Area.
He said: “Anything you do against Rivers State will affect the entire Nigeria. When you see us cry, listen to Rivers State.
“Until they leave this state alone, they will never know peace. When they try to distract Rivers State, they will never be able to conceptualize projects.
“Until they come to apologise for plotting and executing evil against Rivers State, they will continue to falter”.
He noted that despite the evil machinations of the APC, Rivers State remained one of the very few flourishing states in the country.
He said APC states have gone under, grappling with payment of salaries.
“I challenge the APC to go to their states and talk about projects, when they cannot even pay salaries. Here we have paid salaries and pensions and we are consistently rolling out projects, even during Christmas “, he said.
He noted that the APC dislodged a son of the Niger Delta from the Presidency, only to resort to excuses for their failures.
The governor called on the Federal Government to ensure that it uses funds from the Excess Crude Account to address environmental problems in the Niger Delta, the way it is doing for insurgency.
Governor Wike used the occasion to announce the approval of the construction of the Internal Roads of Bolo town.
The governor also upgraded the stool of the Amayanabo of Bolo to a Second Class Status.
Governor Wike lauded the Majority Whip of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Evans Bipi for the major constituency project in the area.
Earlier, Chief Victor Alabo who spoke on behalf of the Chief and Elders of Bolo thanked Governor Wike for the numerous projects in the area.
He commended the Governor for funding the Bolo Civic Centre which is a constituency project facilitated by the Majority Whip of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Evans Bipi.
He announced that the Bolo people have endorsed Governor Wike for a second term because of his outstanding developmental strides

Politics › Why We Supported Uche Secondus – PDP Governors by kcmichael(op): 12:52am On Dec 25, 2017 |
State governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have explained that they supported the emergence of Prince Uche Secondus as national chairman of the party because of his strength, character and honesty.
This came as Secondus prophesied that the new National Working Committee (NWC) would drive the party to win the 2019 elections.
The governors stated that Secondus as the then National Deputy Chairman stood for the truth and ensured that rules were adhered to during party primaries.
They spoke at the thanksgiving service in honour of Secondus at the Rivers State Ecumenical Centre in Port Harcourt yesterday.
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, said every governor gave testimony on how the national chairman stood firm for the right thing to be done.
He said as the then Deputy National Chairman, Secondus relegated monetary considerations and always ensured the promotion of PDP interests.
Wike said Secondus insisted on his emergence as PDP governorship candidate because he felt it was in the best interest of the party, even though other groups preferred an ethnic candidate.
He said: “This position is an opportunity to give Nigerians what they want. I can’t understand why people are suffering untold hardship. Imagine the fuel scarcity with people buying a litre of fuel between N300 and N400.”
Wike said Secondus emerged through a credible process where all candidates tested their popularity, adding that the governors and other stakeholders preferred Secondus because of his experience and track record.
“For the first time in the history of our party, we had an election to elect a national chairman. It was not like the case before where the president and governors decided on a consensus candidate,” Wike said.
Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade, said he encountered Secondus when they had a major challenge in the delegates list of the party, but that the former deputy national chairman insisted on correcting the illegality without inducement.
He said all the governors who worked for the emergence of the national chairman did so because of the unflinching support Secondus gave them in the past.
Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, said: “Secondus stood with me when the promise of man failed.”
He said all the governors resolved to work with Wike in canvassing for Secondus because of his character and content. He said the governors turned their backs on those who took money in the past.
In his remarks, Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, commended the presence of mind of Secondus, which he said would be beneficial to the party.
He said: “We are prepared to go the whole route with Secondus. He will be an exemplary party leader in Africa.
In his speech, national chairman of the PDP, Secondus, said the PDP is poised to take over the leadership of the country.
He said: “We are going according to the plans and purpose of God. This country will be returned to the PDP, whether you like it or not, it is approved in heaven. You cannot do otherwise.”
While thanking God for his grace and blessing that delivered the position of the national chairman, Secondus said God used Wike and his colleagues to bring the post to fruition. https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2017/12/25/pdp-governors-why-we-supported-secondus-for-chairmanship-post/

UcheSecondus: The National Chairman of the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus has charged Nigerians to use the occasion of this year’s Christmas to offer special prayers for an end to the government of the All Progressive Congress APC as its obvious that they are not moving the country forward.
Prince Secondus said in a Christmas message to Nigerians that the hardship Nigerians are going through in the last 30 months of APC administration shows clearly that it was a mistake voting them in the first place.
" The fact that Nigerians cannot see fuel to travel home to see their loved ones during this Christmas even after fuel prize jumped from N87 per liter under PDP administration to N145 under APC shows clearly that they have nothing to offer.
" As Christmas is the marking of the coming of the messiah by christendom, this is the best time to seek God's intervention to send a leader who would save this country as APC administration has failed the people woefully.
Secondus said that never in the history of Nigeria has there been this level of disaffection among the people with the government clearly unable to offer solution
"This Yuletide time is therefore ripe for Nigerians to bury their political, ethnic and religious differences and go on their knees to ask God to save this country from the hands of APC misrule and clear lack of direction.
"This is the third Christmas Nigerians are marking under APC government and the indignation in their faces across board shows it all that the people are sad and disappointed"
Notwithstanding the frustrations however, the PDP boss admonishes all Nigerians to use this period of Christmas to reflect deeply on the future of democracy in this country and try and use this season to show love to one another and build on those things that unite than divide us.
The National Chairman, on behalf of the PDP National Executive Committee of our great party, wishes all Nigerians joyful Christmas celebrations.
Signed
Ike Abonyi
