Dakuku Peterside cannot be chosen if he doesn't have the capacity to take on any candidate PDP will flag. Abe and Dakuku are from the same Senatorial district and same political family. So is a win-win for both side. How the Ogoni will take APC decision is something that has been permuted a lot.

The battle ahead is strong and by God's grace Dakuku Adol Peterside will be next Governor come 2015.

Let PDP brings out any candidate of their choice, of won't stop them from suffering heavy defeat.

Now, OP is one of the problem we have in Nigeria. The students are not 750 but 1000. The 800million naira is paid to the Indians to manage the school annually not per term. These cover feedings of the students and overhead cost of the entire model secondary school including salaries with each student entitled to a laptop. And is all boarding school which makes it free. 700 of those children are indigenes while the remaining 300 are non indigenes but resides in Rivers State.

Educom is the name of the India firm managing the School but staffs are Nigerians.

Rushing to condemn NASS blockade, is it a cover up for a job not well executed? The IGP said the Police acted on report that thugs will be invading the chambers, they allow PDP members in, stop APC members including the known person of Tambuwal as the status quo Speaker. As a political analyst, the Presidency writing Tambuwal on extension of emergency rule was to lure him into recovening the House (because it has now drawn on them that only Tambuwal can reconvene the House). The writting of Tambuwal by Presidency is signalling that the Presidency is recognising Tambuwal as the Speaker but unfortunately the President, PDP and IGP are playing different script.

The script was to allow the house recovene by Tambuwal, block him and other APC members has they can get the required number of quorum to sit, move motion to impeached Tambuwal, and Tambuwal will be impeached even without 2/3 majority and the President like Fayose will congratulate the new Speaker as Jonathan is still not recognising Ameachi with 19 votes against 16. That is why these APC lawmakers (in my own opinion) go that extent....I think as far as we should not celebrate their action of jumping over the gate, we should also not comdened them for same action. Because if not that actions of them, news headline will have been similar to that of Ekiti since yesterday.

Let us all fight against impunity because today it is Tambuwal (a northerner) tomorrow it might be other ethnic group and remember that history has a way of repeating itself, if we can not all stand against this high level impunity and lawlessness by this current FG under Jonathan we may find ourselves to balme in the nearest future when the history will repeat itself in ten folds simultanously in defferent parts of the country.

Govt needs to invest in power generation urgently in Lagos, Aba, Nnewi, Ogun, and Kaduna (revive textile mills in that state) for a start. The 5 states/cities I mentioned above are cities that have some form of existing culture and infrastructure for exportable goods. A good govt can support them now and in turn decrease their monthly allocation down the road. This will leave more money for other states as well as gradually increase govt revenue.

OP, I was about to make a similar article. Watching Nigeria vs SA, I saw a section of some of our fans with TAN T-shirts. I was like, what a hell? Is football now partisan? This is everything FIFA doesn't want in Football. What of people like me that despite TAN's activities with passion?

By Monday the 17th of November 2014, the
Emergency Rule imposed on the three North-
Eastern States of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa had
exhausted the 3rd tranche of Six Months each.
Effectively, the States have been under Emergency
Rule for 18 Months.
Since the announcement of the extension,
Nigerians have been commenting on the issue
using various Media. For those of us living in
States under Emergency Rule, Some of these
comments are indeed instructive. We have
observed that most of the initial euphoria about the
desirability or otherwise of the State of Emergency
has died down.
Now the comments are mostly on the gains of
process. And majority of commentators are quick
to observe that the situation had gotten worst
since the imposition of State of Emergency on the
three states.
Perhaps it is necessary for those of us living in
States under Emergency Rule to provide an
informed analysis of the gains and indeed the
pains of the process. At the time the Emergency
Rule was first pronounced in May 2013, we in
Adamawa State had pretty little insurgency
activities. Our School System was stable, our
Tertiary Institutions were open and functioning, and
no Adamawa territory was overrun by the
Insurgents. We also had no Internally Displaced
Persons or IDPs anywhere within Adamawa State.
Today, all Schools are closed down; one of the
three Senatorial Districts is in the hands of the
insurgents with a large chunk of second under
threat while we have thousands of IDPs Scattered
all over the remaining portion of the State.
Meanwhile Movement of persons within the State
has been restricted and relationship curtailed.
Under such circumstances, it is difficult to
convince anyone living in states under Emergency
Rule that the process is succeeding.
Apologist of Emergency Rule have always
threatened that if we do not accept it, the president
will withdraw all military forces from our States
and leave us at the mercy of the insurgents. The
president himself had said something similar when
he threatened the Governor of Borno State that if
he withdraws the Military from Borno State, the
Governor will not remain in Maiduguri for a
minute. But recent events have shown that such
threats are even needless. Under Emergency Rule
and with Sundry Military and Police check points
littered all over our roads and high ways,
Insurgents drive through major roads until they
reach their destinations unchallenged. Even the
night time curfews are needless because Mubi
town was taken over in broad daylight.
With Soldiers withdrawing from battle fields in the
name of tactical maneuver, with Barracks being
overrun and an Air Force Base closed in Maiduguri,
what exactly is the worth of the threat by the
apologists of Emergency Rule? Considering that it
took the brave exploits of our youth known as
Civilian JTF to contain the insurgency in some
parts of Borno and Yobe States, and even braver
hunters and Vigilantes to defeat the Insurgents in
Adamawa State and Kala-Balge Borno State, What
are all these threats about? 18 Months under
Emergency Rule I have lost my Nigerian Citizenship
(at least technically) since my home town is in the
hands of the insurgents who have renamed it
‘’Madinatul-Islam”, My children cannot go to
School while I and my family live under Constant
threat of being forced to escape from Yola to God
knows where. How on earth can you convince me
and many others living in states under Emergency
Rule and going through similar experiences that
this thing is working and indeed desirable? While I
get stuck at a Military check point for hours in the
name of Emergency Rule, the insurgents get
unfettered access to pass through these same
areas unmolested and unchallenged.
Yesterday(Monday) I learnt of the pathetic story of
a group of persons that fled Yola to Kano out of
fear. Their Bus which belonged to the NUT had an
accident and they all died. If only Emergency Rule
provided them the safety required, they wouldn’t
have had to risk their lives on the road running
from one danger and falling unto another. If
Emergency Rule were working, will there have been
any need for anyone to flee his ancestral home for
an unknown destination? Aside from the human
tragedy which the insurgency has inflicted on us
and the inability of the Emergency Rule to contain
it, how else do we evaluate this Emergency Rule?
At the beginning when Emergency Rule was
imposed on Adamawa state in 2013, we had been
cautiously optimistic even though we saw more
politics than Security concerns in the declaration.
At that time, Adamawa had purely challenges of
criminals and criminality rather than insurgency.
Now we are no longer even doubtful. The
emphasis of the Emergency Rule has essentially
been to serve some political interest rather than
contain security threats in our States. That is why
Friends of the Presidency have Maiduguri Airport
open to them when they want to land but closed
to all others including the state Governor. That is
why the President will visit Chad with an ex-
Governor of Borno State and exclude a sitting
Governor. That is why the Military will provide
protection for a suspected sponsor of the
insurgency to conduct a political rally in Maiduguri
while communities are left without protection. That
is why the Insurgents over run Mubi and for days
the authorities in Abuja kept quiet.
That is why Soldiers withdrew from Mubi almost
two hours before the Insurgents arrive. That is why
the Leadership of the country can afford to enjoy a
good dance show ever when bombs explode other
parts of the country. In short, Politics is what
makes our leaders celebrate while we mourned.
Since the Presidency had taken a decision to
extend the State of Emergency for another 6
months, our attention will now return to the
National Assembly. Will they sanction this
extension of Emergency Rule? If they eventually do,
what reasons will compel them to do so? Why
can’t the members of the National Assembly
conduct Public Hearings in the affected States to
evaluate the process before acceding to the
President’s request? Why are we being governed
with such level of high handedness as if this is a
dictatorship? The usual excuse that Security
matters should not be discussed in public is all
rubbish. When Soldiers run away from the battle
field into another country it is public knowledge.
When a Military Barrack is taken over by
insurgents it is Public Knowledge. When territories
are taken over and declared Madinatul-whatever, it
is Public knowledge. When thousands are
displaced and rendered homeless in make-shift
camps, it is Public knowledge. Why should
discussions on the plight of the affected
communities, the victims and the experiences of
the brave men and women of services be
classified? Why should inputs from affected
persons be forbidden? Something is definitely
wrong with our own brand of democracy.
After 18 Months of living under Emergency Rule,
one could safely say that for those of us directly
affected, there are more pains than gains. We have
seen many lows and literally no highs. We have
witnessed very little successes in containing the
insurgency within the period under Emergency
Rule. We have observed the supreme sacrifices a
few brave service men and women had to make
even though the gains are few. We have borne the
brunt of the insurgency with pain and hardships.
We have witnessed the disgrace of Camerounian
Gendarmes harbouring and protecting our forces.
We have witnessed a mutiny by our soldiers and a
proxy mutiny by their wives. We have seen our
girls kidnapped and our women forcefully married.
We have seen our Churches burnt and our
brethren slaughtered in cold blood. We have
temporarily lost our nationality and our parents
forcefully relocated to another country. We have
heard several empty promises by our leaders and
Military Commanders promising an end to the
insurgents at dates that come and go. We have
witnessed a phantom cease-fire that ended up
ceasing more of our land. And yet our rulers want
to impose another six months of Emergency Rule
without any change in form or character. May God
Save his People?

The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) has been advised to intervene and
reverse the plot by stakeholders in the party to
tacitly bar the Adamawa State Governor, Bala
Ngilari, from contesting the 2015 governorship
election in the state.
Lagos-based lawyer and human rights activist,
Mr. Festus Keyamo, in a letter to the PDP national
chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mua’zu, said a zoning
arrangement in favour of Adamawa Central district
decided in the absence of Nglirai was designed to
disqualify him from contesting the election and
that where the party does not reverse the decision
within 48 hours, his client would approach the
court of law to seek redress.
“On or about Thursday, October 30, the Working
Committee (NWC) of your party issued a
statement that the zoning of the governorship to
Adamawa central senatorial district (which was
done in our client’s absence from office) remains
sacrosanct. The implication of this is that our
client has been schemed out of the race since he
is not from Adamawa Central, but from Adamawa
North senatorial district,” he noted.
According to him, the arrangement is considered
malicious, considering the fact that the PDP has
never denied a sitting governor the party ticket
and also because it runs contrary to a recent
statement by Mua’zu who promised that the right
of first refusal extended to President Goodluck
Jonathan will also be extended to governors.
“On the day President Goodluck Jonathan
collected his expression of interest and
nomination forms at the PDP headquarters, the
PDP chairman remarked that the same gesture
extended to the president as the sitting president,
would also be extended to sitting governors - that
is, automatic tickets or the right of first refusal.
Why then, would the case of Adamawa State be
different? Why would Ngilari be singled out for
special treatment and why would he not benefit
from the gesture extended to his colleagues?
“Kindly note, sir, that since the birth of the PDP in
1999 up till this moment, the PDP has never
denied any sitting governor who is eligible for re-
election the ticket to re-contest. The only isolated
incident was the case of Mbadinuju of Anambra
State in 2003, and the consequence of that
decision is that the PDP has lost Anambra State
till date to rival political parties, due to the crises
that followed that decision.
“It is therefore inconceivable, that our client be
deprived the ticket to run for the governorship
election in 2015. It may interest you to know, sir,
that since the existence of the old Gongola State
up to the creation and existence of Adamawa
State, no zoning formula based on senatorial
districts has been used to produce the various
governors of the state,” he argued.
Keyamo contended further that the decision of the
PDP on zoning to deprive Ngilari of his right to
contest the election runs contrary to the 1999
Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Chelsea FC plc today announced a profit of £18.4 million and a record turnover of £319.8 million for the year ended 30 June 2014. This is the second profit in three years and the largest since Roman Abramovich became owner of the club in 2003.

These results ensure UEFA’s break-even criteria under the Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations continue to be satisfied.

The £18.4 million profit follows the £1.4 million generated two years ago. Strong revenue increases as well as a significant surplus on player sales during the 12-month period contributed.

The turnover figure – up from £255.8m - increased for a fifth consecutive year, demonstrating business growth continues in seasons without trophy success as well as in years when silverware is won. The new FAPL broadcasting deal contributed significantly as did commercial income. In the past year we have signed new partnerships with Rotary, Hackett, Coral, William Lawson’s, Indosat and Guangzhou R&F Football Club.

There was a small rise in matchday income but with Stamford Bridge filled to capacity year after year there was no scope for significant financial growth in this area. General admission ticket prices remain frozen at 2011/12 levels.

The latest financial results combined with those from the previous two years mean that for the second monitoring period for FFP we will fall comfortably within the limits set by UEFA, who measure expenditure against the income from football-related activities. Chelsea also complied with FFP criteria over the first monitoring period.

Chairman Bruce Buck said: ‘The club is naturally pleased to record a significant profit for 2013/14. By reaching the Champions League semi-final and maintaining a challenge in the Premier League until the final week of the season we demonstrated that, while improving our financial figures, we remained competitive in football’s toughest club competitions.

‘We financed player purchases from sales as the squad for this current season was shaped, and our philosophy since Mr Abramovich acquired the club in 2003 has been to build upon success on the pitch. That is evident in the partnerships we signed and in our fanbase growth which contributed to the new record turnover figure and the profit made. We have done all of this at the same time as creating one of the world’s leading football community programmes through the Chelsea Foundation.

‘Going forward, we have ambitious plans to build a pioneering global commercial programme, partnering with innovative and market-leading organisations from around the world. In the era of FFP, we must progress commercially to continue the circle of success to invest in the team and get results.’

YOUR OBSERVATION IS RIGHT! APC planned it long before their OGA, GMB, promised to make governance impossible for GEJ. Their Oga, a very well trained guerrilla soldier, one who believes that every civilian, even with a PHD degree like GEJ is bloody and cannot be matched with a sergent in the army in the Art of leading, ordering and managing fellow humans. Their Oga and many like him never envisaged that GEJ could be this resourceful, cool, calculating and focussed. One, they thought could not manage trivial matters, how would he handle insurgent arab guerrilla- asses, like bokoharam. Like the chief Justice, Saul, in the Bible, with a phd in law before Christ captured him and changed his name to Paul and trained him to fish for men for Him, so God trained GEJ, gave him a phd in Sociology and Phychology and made him ready and effective to handle the likes of GMB, to give them flogging defeats at every election and to govern Nigeria to His Pleasures and Glory.
