Good question. First of all, Russia built their Military on defensive doctrine, this is why they built so many S-defence Missile Systems back home.

US on the other hand, apart from having defensive abilities, they are formidable offensive force, T

If a War not Nuclear But conventional War broke out between Russia and the US, the Ocean is a big barrier, and US have advantage because of their Aircraft carrier, so they won in that department.
