Good morning everyone.......Trust we’re all doing great this morning.........please I have a question.........can a student working in Europe sponsor his brother in Nigeria?.....I’m asking because of his student status in Europe.....I don’t know if that will be a stumbling block.....the Agent said it’s cool but I’m being cautious.

many thanks for your response, about the IT question, i don't have IT paid experience, but I've been teaching Computer Science in Sec schools around me.
does that help my cause??

Good morning Everyone

I got info about this thread from a friend and i'm glad i did.

i am a prospective applicant and i'm not asking to be taken by hand but i really need pointers on how to embark on this journey and i hope to share my own success story at the end of it all. (i am currently going/reading through the thread from page 1)

I studied Computer Science in Nigeria and i wish to further my studies in Australia if God permits, although my CGPA is not sharp enough(its poor) to go straight to masters, i intend to go through Undergraduate program again if that's the only way.

I have some questions and i'll like the ancestors/gurus to chip as much as they can(i'm a fast learner)

1) Can i still go for Bsc again at my age? (i will be 29years in october)
2) Can my age hurt my chances of getting Visa?
3) Is IELTS compulsory and does it give an edge?(I have Academic IELTS and Band Score of 7.5 and it expires next year Feb)
4) which cost effective schools are most preferable for me(I'm on a budget)
5) can i do the application without an Agent?(it seems all schools work through an Agent)
6) how much am i looking at for both Tuition(First year at least) and other miscellaneous that might come up along the way(A rough estimate so i can know what i'm dealing with)
7) how is the application season like? Can i apply now? (Asking because of the prevailing conditions in the world right now and i have been going through the schools website for more info but still a lil confused regarding application season and deadline)

I'll be glad to get a response to all these pertinent questions and others that will come along the way.

Thanks Everyone cheesy cheesy

.

This is very inspirational and motivational.
What was your undergraduate course please?

I will like to connect you if you don't mind as we are in same career line.
His message is inspirational and motivational but at the same time can be misleading......what works for A cannot work for B.......his CGPA and work experience might give him an edge over others but that doesn’t mean he should advise people not to have contingency plans......I know lots of my friends that got AD last year but couldn’t secure Admission Letter and they had to cancel......he should go and tell those people to apply to one School because they want to apply to competitive schools......I didn’t want to reply the guy when he posted that but I had to after reading your post......I’ll keep saying it.....spread your Application Net far and wide to avoid premium tears......if the guy in question didn’t succeed with that one school he applied to.....trust me.....he’ll be distraught and might drop out of the Germany Travel Race.......there’s nothing wrong in having Plan A - Plan Z as far your money can carry you through application.......A word is enough......Cheers.
NB: you can actually switch schools in Germany if the school did not meet your expectation.....The Goal is to get to DE.

Yes, in a way they do need us for their economy to run, in a year do you know how many applicants deposit 10k+ euros for block account? You really think that money sit in the bank without them using it to grow their economy?

The previous guy has a point. They need us as much as we need them.
You said “In a way they do need us” I can agree with that.......although it’s quite laughable to say Germany’s Economy won’t thrive without our Block Account......you sef reason am....lol

It will end in Joy.

 2 signed declarations according to Section 54 Paragraph 2 Nr. 8 of the German Alien's Law.

This was required and I don't know what it means.

Pls does anyone understand pls?
It’s just a one page document that you can download on the Embassy’s Website.......you just need to Sign and write the Date and the Location of the Embassy(Lagos/Abuja Depending).

You can upload any document you want on Uniassist Portal without Payment........Payment is only required when you apply to any school through them.

Hello. I want to apply to Technische Universitaet Muenchen and I need to get a VPD from uni-assist. I
need to know if TestAs qualifies me for the VPD in the eyes of uni-assist. My highest other qualification is Waec. I have completed one semester of studies at UNN and I'm very sure that I wouldn't have gotten my first and second semester transcripts by the end of the application period, so it seems my only options are Studienkolleg and TestAs.
Do you think or know if Uni-assist will waive the "2 semesters of study at a Nigerian university" requirement if I present a TestAs result?
You wey ask the question suppose know say it won’t work........unless you want to dash Uniassist 75 or 30 Euros and still receive rejection......Choose wisely.......get your 1st year Transcript in UNN and apply for BSC or go through StudienKolleg

Bro now you are the one misinforming people.
What I uploaded was just original document and they give me an OKAY. Infact one of them already gave me admission.

I don't know were you got that from, you may be right or wrong. But I didn't send anybody any document through post.

Thanks
Shaking my head........that you didn’t send hard copies of your documents to Uniassist doesn’t mean that’s the norm.......some schools like Rhine Waal that go through Uniassist doesn’t demand you send Hard Copy Of your Documents by post to Uniassist in Germany.......but most schoools that go through Uniassist requires you send Hard Copies by Post to Uniassist.......it seems you don’t know much about some of these things.......smh

NB: Also note that some schools gave concession to Applicants going through Uniassist to upload only soft copies due to the present Covid19 situation......doesn’t make it the norm....doesn’t mean that same school will accept only Soft Copies by Next Application Window.....I dn tire abeg.....lol

You guys got it all wrong.

What I meant was if you want to upload your document to uniassist, if its original you don't need to take it to court to certify it.
If you upload the Original(PDF) Copy on their Site......you have to still send them Certified/Notarized Photocopies by post.......you can upload Certified Copies as well on the Uniassist Portal.......anyone can fly.

Be careful with the bolded information man, you don't send original docs to uni-assist
Exactly .....lol.....I wonder where he/she got that information........Uniassist always posts a Caveat on their Site that any paper document you send to them will not be returned to you and will be disposed after some time.....so it’s always advised to send Certified Photocopies Of your Documents to avoid had I known.......you can upload Originals on their Website but try and send Certified Photocopies to them via Courier.

NB: Although you can send your Original Transcript in a Sealed and Stamped Envelope direct from your University to them in Germany......but that will mean Applying/paying for another Transcript again if you want to apply to other schools, so it’s better to just get One Original Transcript and Make Photocopies and Certify/Notarize them......you then send to the various schools you applied to while still having your Original Transcript with you.

I need to be sure and clear.
After applying online for student visa and getting a response mail, how do you show you have funded your block account and have received admission letter before AD is received?
There’s no correlation between those things you mentioned.......getting AD is not dependent on having BA/SL and AL........you only need those things to be ready on or before your AD because you won’t be interviewed without your BA/SL and obviously your Admission Letter......you need the Original Copy of your SL to be sent to you ASAP.......you can make do with the Soft Copy now of your AL that was sent to you.....just print it out and go with it but the SL needs to be the original copy.

Hello house,

Please, I have my original certificate and transcript authenticated by the edu & FA ministries but I don't have any stamped photocopies or extra copies (apart from the original documents). My question is:

1. Can I just make ordinary photocopies, stamped it at the high court (in Lagos) and proceed to German embassy in Lagos for stamping? (Does it work that way?). Will they honour it ?

2. I have another degree, which is a foreign degree, how will I get it stamped before submitting to uni-assist?

3. Is the German embassy in Lagos opened right now (I am not presently in Lagos).

Thanks for your time.
German School Applications are quite different from other countries Application.......Make Photocopies of all your Credentials and proceed to State/Federal High Court to Certify/Notarize those Photocopies you made.......you will go with your Originals for sighting and nothing else.......you can also Certify your Documents in the German Embassy(Free Of Charge) if you live close by but you have to book Appointment for that and German Embassy’s Certification is a lil bit stressful if you don’t live around there.......You have to upload those Certified/Notarized Softcopies on the Uniassist Portal and also send the Hardcopies by Post to their address in Berlin, Germany.........I heard the Embassy is open now but not for Visa purpose......maybe Certification and other Consulate matters.

Hello guys!

Please can you change the school you applied with the Visa even after visa interview?

I mean is it possible to change to another school apart from the school you used to apply for visa. Even after visa interview?

Thanks
Yes it is very very possible.......that’s why it’s advisable to have multiple AL......you can go for Interview with one AL and change school when you get to DE.......The Schools Location might not be what you’re expecting so you do the needful.....

Good day Nairalanders, I want to ask if there is any implication and if my applications would be forwarded by uniassit this is because I uploaded certified copies of my docs. I applied to university of Potsdam, would they accept my document or do I need to uploaded the original because I later heard that Potsdam accept original copies.
What exactly do you mean by original? No school will take your Original Documents......they will only take the Original Certified Copies and not the photocopy of the Certified Copy......your Original Documents are yours to keep......The Certified Copy you uploaded to Uniassist is okay.....have you sent the Original Certified Hard Copies to Uniassist by post/Mail?? Maybe that’s what you’re talking about.

Hello wonderful Nairalanders. I'm new on this thread and I need your help. I aspire to study in Germany and I plan to stay back and plan a better life for myself. I want to be sure about certain facts and requirements before I start my application. I don't have a sponsor in Germany. My options are scholarships and Uniassist. I would be glad if you guys can explain some things to me. These are my questions:
1. What are the deadlines for Scholarships and Uniassist?

2. If I opt for Uniassist, how much should I prepare for in order to create a block account? And is this amount the same for all schools available or does it differ between respective schools.

3. Can I work and study concurrently while in Germany and can I stay back after completing the duration of study? If yes how do I go about it?

4. I saw something about module studies where students can take one semester of courses in an area of study before enrolling in full masters studies. Is the amount for taking the module studies the same with full time? Can I decide to enroll in other schools of choice after completion of the module studies?
Thank you, your various responses would be highly appreciated.
All your questions are answered if you start reading from the first page of this thread but most of us don’t want to do a little research.....we all want it sharp sharp.....Read from the beginning of this thread and thank me later.......Daad.de is the website for your school search......Uniassist is more or less an Agent/3rd party for school application.....they process your application and forward to the intended school of study.....shikena.....they don’t have any business with you again.......Block Account(BA), Sponsorship Letter(SL) and Scholarships are all financial means you can use.

Unfortunately the university of ilmenau do request for 25- 30€ to assess foreign certificates.
This is after applying online.
Yea they do....but their Admission Letter is almost certain if you meet the necessary requirements and their AL lasts for two years so you know what that means, you just chill and wait for Appointment Date from the Embassy if you’re in Cat B.....it’s a small City so they always encourage students to come and study there......Jobs are scarce there though so you have to shuttle to nearby Cities to earn a living.

NB: I’ll advise you to pay the money so you can have it as an option if other schools disappoint you.....all the best

Thanks for ur contribution.

What if the city where the uni. Is located is different from where my sponsor lives?

Thanks!
Someone in another City/State can issue you a SL even without living in your intended City/State Of Study........although there’s an exception in some cases due to different City’s Living Standard........E.g Someone living in Lagos and another person living in Sokoto can’t have the same Expenses in a Month......Sokoto will obviously be cheaper......so I heard in this kind of scenario Someone in Sokoto can issue a SL for someone in Lagos but it might not fly in the Embassy.....they might question that SL because technically they know someone living in Sokoto can’t cater/fend for someone in Lagos with his Meagre monthly resources....I hope this explains it for you.....lol....cheers
