This Erisco CEO no get street sense and EQ

Honestly, he and his management team especially his corporate communications and marketing team are foolish. They could have used this issue to their advantage without prosecuting Chioma.

I knew it will definitely go against Erisco. Majority of consumers will definitely support Chioma even without reviewing the product themselves. Note, it is easy to see fault than establishing a product's positive side in cases like this.

My own thinking about that ondo state is that the governor is looking for reelection to office may be that is why he is doing that

Oh yeahhhh, you are quite very right. I never thought about that. But even at that, for him to approve that payment, it means the funds are always there just that they hold them back because of greed. God will help us 🙏

South South states with All the oil money can't pay wage away and empower the people

Honestly, especially my state, Delta. If Ondo can pay 35k, Delta state should be mandated to pay 50k as they are recipient of the highest federal monthly allocation. I want to see Delta at the top always even striving to surpass Lagos State in infrastructural development too. It should not be "Big Heart" for nothing.

Politics / Re: Chioma Okoli, ERISCO Foods And Freedom Of Speech In Nigeria (Video) by kenmaro: 3:25pm On Feb 29
This is a very delicate case that the corporate communications team of Erisco foods needs to apply wisdom if not it will dent the public image of the company towards their consumers loyalty as it may be seen that Erisco foods don't care about her consumers opinion. The talk by the CEO of Erisco foods that Chioma is a member of syndicate is an assumption that holds no water until facts are proven. Using force to frustrate a consumers opinion so as to get public or consumers loyalty doesn't help a brand image as consumers will be divided on their thoughts and most will go with Chioma as faults are easily noticed in products testing like in this case.

The CEO of Erisco foods should refrain from using vulgar words like "I can help people who want to die to die" on screen as this will be seen as arrogant by most of the public and his own concern as a business owner won't be seen anymore. No matter what, Chioma was part of the consuming family of Erisco foods who felt not just dissatisfied but something was in excess in the product and only aired her thoughts wrongly. I think detaining her in the police custody isn't fair as it wasn't a criminal offence rather a civil one. I will advice the management and corporate communications team of Erisco to sit down and review this case to see how best to use it to better promote their brands not prosecuting a dissatisfied consumer.

Note; I have so much admired the progression of Erisco foods from the 90s and I was elated when I heard about the paste manufacturing plant and also the commissioning by President Buhari. Criticism is part of a process that helps strengthen a brand. Erisco should not only look at it from the negative side rather they should harness the positive side.

Business / Re: Can't Send Dollars To Nigeria Any More by kenmaro: 2:32pm On Feb 09
...and it didn't work. They are only making policies for the ordinary Nigerian who travels, hustles, saves, and send some of it back home to help his family back home or to invest because no politician sends peanut through western union rather they meander huge funds through offshore account settlements. I would have suggested they disallow personal domiciliary accounts but it will make them take the money to foreign banks outside Nigeria.

Only solution is declare an emergency on industrialisation of the whole economy, reduce drastically tax burden on 100% local content manufacturing companies, stabilise electricity, improve on security, guarantee investment security, reduce drastically the rate of corruption in government and political offices, etc. You will the naira smiling!

Exposing them is not enough as Nigerian politicians have no public shame anymore. Also, I don't see prosecution and final detention in Europe or America as enough punishment for erring Nigerian politicians as I deem their detention facilities too posh and a mere restriction of normal freedom to our politicians who will return to a welcome ovation and posh life after release from foreign imprisonment. I wish they could be put through tough detention facilities like they created in Nigeria with very unhygienic environment and hard labour around daredevil criminals.

Exactly! You are filled with wisdom. These cosmetic palliatives won't be sustained. They are just to douse the tension they are envisaging. I am waiting to see if they would also subsidise the commodity market too. Government of confused and deceitful minds. If caution is not applied, the current situation in Niger may happen to Nigeria. We have got all we need to become a great country, all that is pulling us back is CORRUPTION & GREED.

Politics / Re: My Friend Got Tired Making Money From Fuel Subsidy, Begged President To Stop It by kenmaro: 6:57am On Jun 27, 2023
Anyone that believes this Isa Yagudu, have just been cajoled. All what he is saying are lies. These are just political strategies employed by the political class to calm the minds of Nigerians on the effect of the subsidy removal making it seem like this is fine. Subsidy removal is more money to be shared by the states. Corruption is not just limited to subsidy cabals, all state governors and politicians are guilty of Corruption. What have they be doing with monthly federal allocation been shared to their states? Bad roads and lack of basic infrastructures everywhere. Allocations are shared and pocketed.

For now, I see selfishness in every Nigerian politician.

Nigerians should not be expectant !
Politics / Re: Households Under Pressure As New Electricity Tariff Due July 1 by kenmaro: 4:53pm On Jun 19, 2023
Exactly what I have been saying 👍.
Government subsidy is normal for key services that drive the economy. Even America has housing mortgage subsidy, the UK and most EU have some kind of subsidy for families with kids, etc.

Naija own dey tire person plus we Nigerians we quickly accept new policies not minding the effects on others once we are comfortable with it.. That I am financially capable of a service doesn't mean I shouldn't look at its effects on other less privileged. The most annoying part is that this same economic theory we are applying is same that was introduced to us by the whites but we apply them in criminal and selfish ways.

Nbote:
Just imagine how selfish these ediots are. You come in and the first thing is to remove all subsidies enjoyed by the masses. They claim they are removing subsidy on petrol because it was being smuggled to neighboring countries. What is the excuse for the removal of subsidy on electricity and education. Next they will target is Healthcare

You people will just sit in your houses and try to sell the useless propaganda the govt sells you. Countries subsidize education, Healthcare, agriculture and energy because these are the sectors that drives the economy.Try to use Google which is free

Politics / Re: NNPC To Discontinue Crude Swap, Targets Cash Payments For Petrol Imports by kenmaro: 12:11pm On Jun 05, 2023
NNPC 🤣🤣🤣!
You guys have truly being doing crude swap? So, what part of the cost have Nigerian government being subsidising aside the logistics which should be a very minimal component of the total cost per Litre when we are getting it almost at a free cost save for the logistics cost and considering other by-products (bitumen,Resin, petroleum jelly, etc) of the crude that were not accounted for? This means that there has not been a subsidy all this while as acclaimed rather a product exchange (trade by barter).

Now, NNPC is deciding to end a crude swap after removing subsidy when we know that such contract can't be abruptly ended without a prior notification to the other contractual party and why wasn't the contract discontinued before the subsidy removal?

Why NNPC claim in other news that they increased the pump price on the available subsidised old stock so as to generate money for new purchase? Note, this business strategy should not be applicable to a supposed public corporation like NNPC who is expected to provide some basic needs affordably to her citizens and not whole profit driven.

Removing subsidy whilst corruption thrives in the system is not a solution to a Nigerian economy that is solely dependent on total import and unattractive investment environment. These politicians will always devise other means of looting as long corruption thrives (unexecuted projects by government contractors, inflated project values, approving bogus pay cheques and allowances to themselves, etc).

A true government must always provide one subsidy to her citizens in one way or the other. There are subsidized housing mortgages and health services in America, most European and Canadian government pay some educational allowances to families with children. This controversial fuel subsidy is the only thing every "common" Nigeria has been benefitting from the government, if truly there is even a subsidy.

It's the usual talks just to calm Nigerians and overtime everyone forgets the cry and bear the pains. ...normal political strategy! Expect nothing from Nigerian politicians, they have thrown Nigeria into a very active volcano waiting to erupt hot magma 🔥.
