IMASTEX: What the sales attendant to you is true and there are no quality disparity between the Nigerian and foreign spec. I have been a victim. I got a nokia phone for my wife some years back from Dubai only to discover it has a factory rebooth fault at startup when I presented it to my here in Nigeria. Took it to nokia care centre in Ikeja with the hope that it has a warranty cover, only to be told after checking the IMEI that there is no warranty cover here in Nigeria and that it wasn't sold here afterwhich i told them where i bought it from. I ended up paying 5k for the repair service and i later discover that the phone price here is cheaper than what i got it in Dubai. |

MobilityExpress: Sometimes, i tend to blame these foriegn donor governments and NGOs for also helping to encourage corruption in Nigeria. It is already glaring that our leaders are very corrupt, greedy, and wicked, yet foreign donors and NGOs still donate funds/aids through our government knowing fully that such will be embezzled. That makes me see both the donor and our government as birds of same feather. You know someone is a sure criminal yet you transact through him. Rather, these NGOs should donate and give directly to their target by distributing directly through their ground staffs who will be highly supervised to check any abnormality. Also, foreign government donors should stop giving funds to our government for developmental projects. They should contract such projects directly to professional organisation's who will execute the project on their behalf with notification of intent to the Nigerian government under the supervision of both donor government and Nigerian government. Eg., If Germany wants to assist with some construction donation to Nigeria, it could do so by contracting the project to Julius Berger for direct execution while German and Nigeria government supervises. This way, our leaders will see foreign aids/funds coming in but they won't touch the cash. "You don't give a fish to a cat for a keep or an errand". 2 Likes |

This story is not clear, I sense some lies. This is a makeup script for claims of stolen money that will be embezzled. They drove 400km from Sokoto to Jaji and they didn't steal the money all along the unsecured road not until they got to Jaji military base that is highly secured before they struck without any resistance, just 5 soldiers? Please, this is not possible. This will require a deep investigation to unravel the truth. 2 Likes |

It's high time the president and the entire Nigerian political stakeholders recognised the insecurity situation in the country and act swiftly because if it is left unattended, it will escalate further affecting both the high and low, the president inclusive. They will also penetrate all corners of the society including air and water transport, so no one will be safe. "We should look for the black sheep when the day is still bright". Even those in the glass houses will be endangered if nothing is done quickly. RIP to the departed souls. I believe in a better and greater Nigeria some time soon. Proudly Nigerian! 1 Like |

I have been to the construction site multiple times and also accessed the environment. That structured is an over-hyped project that is a failure already. It can't be managed and used effectively. The government is just building a shelter for miscreants who stay around there. Don't argue about this, just wait till it is completed and opened for use. |

yemnex: Is the temperature thermostat still intact? Are you using a single or double radiator? Removing the temperature thermostat will increase the fuel consumption as the presence of the thermostat allows the engine to heat-up to a configured operating temperature for maximum fuel efficiency. Using a double cell radiator against the OEM single cell radiator is an alteration on the car specification and fuel efficiency resulting to an abnormal fuel consumption. If both OEM parts (single cell radiator & temperature thermostat) stated above are still intact, then scan your car for trouble code if check engine light illuminates. Stop changing service parts on impulse as that won't profer a solution rather a waste of funds. You might end up replacing some good working OEM parts with refurbished ones. |

LastSurvivor11: Honestly, this is one issue that gives great concern but surprisingly, Nigerians are turning a deaf ear to it. This $300m issue is a great lie to the face of Nigerians like a hot slap is to the cheeks. It's a broad daylight robbery greatly promoted & supported by our deceptive pastor cum professor of a vice president. Dem just chop $300m ( ₦108,000,000,000) clean mouth, no Nigerian fit talk like say dem use jazz cover over mouth. Na waoh! fear naija politicians. Democracy is not good for Africans. We shouldn't import a western theory and expect it to work perfectly same way it works in the Europe & America because we are a different race with a different attitude, cultural belongings, religious practices that influence our behaviours. Africans were not in the picture of democratic theory when it was thought-out. You don't give Africans a total freehand without some level of control because of our selfish and corrupt nature. We need to restructure the western type of Democracy to suite our African way so as to make it very effective because there is no African state that is practicing complete democracy. Rather, what we have over Africa is seizure of power by force, by tricks, by cabals, by sit-tight, and a bunch of corrupt individuals who run affairs in upper and lower houses to their taste and gains not minding the feelings or reaction of the masses. Look at China, Russia, Thailand, etc today, they restructured the American democracy to fit their cultural values which is going fine and they are succeeding among other great nations. Some structures are not designed to fit-all situation perfectly, but they have to be reviewed to effectively match an environment, same way it applies to some technological equipment that are regionally designed to match the varying global environment. |

What basic provision has Nigerian government provided to guarantee every Nigerian parents towards educating & taking care of their children? Is it the new 30,000 naira minimum wage that can't sustain an individual adult in a month, which was even a nightmare to Nigerian government to approve? Nonsense! This should have been put aside until after the elections. Then an investigative panel will be set up to look into it. Inviting members of the INEC for interrogation at this time before the elections could hamper the fairness and success of the elections as the election could be delayed, threatened, and harassed which could affect their psychological performance. |

Crime / Re: Dismissed Soldier To Die By Hanging For Killing Girlfriend by kenmaro: 11:06am On Jan 24, 2019 |
I think it is high time Nigerian government stopped this age long way of death by hanging and introduce a lethal injection method by which the victim dies quietly and peacefully. It mustn't be because one committed murder then he must die by painful method as a way of justice. The truth is that, the knowledge of a death sentence been passed on the accused is enough to cause him/her sorrow knowing that he/she is dying soon. There is a difference knowing your death time and not knowing ones death time. The former brings along with it so much grief especially when it is a domestic or civil case. A subtle lethal injection method will also differentiate domestic and civil cases from criminal or very violent related cases. I am not speaking on this case here as I don't know the circumstance that it was committed but, it will be painful in a case of erroneous accusation involving a case of death by an error not actually intended and a death sentence by hanging is given because of lack of substantive evidence to convince the court. For instance, the case of Saro Wiwa among others who were brutally and painfully killed by hanging. It would have been more better (though death it isn't) if it were by a subtle lethal injection considering the fact that they were fighting a just cause. |

Cadec007: It doesn't matter where they are going to, so long they are moving in a group of more than two with rifles and within or along a possible enemy attack zone, they should be transported by milltary trucks not packed-up in a 18 seater commercial bus. If there is any enemy attack as they are in those buses, the casualty will be very high because those buses are not designed for combat and there is no provision for a rapid response as they are compact buses for private/commercial uses. Nigerian military authority should have a rethink and stop playing sacrificial lamb with our young military force thereby discouraging other young intelligent and highly qualified applicants who truly have passion for military jobs from enlisting into the military because of the corrupt political play that has engulfed the Nigerian military. We should note that: the strength of any nation is its military and economy. As our politicians are going on with emptying our treasury, maybe they also want to waste our military. Please, we all need to stop all (everyone) this unpatriotic attitude and realise that Nigeria is ours so that we make it a better place. No matter where we are or go to, we are all Nigerians and we all belong here and we will all come back home someday. Time is coming when we will all become persona non grata (unwelcomed) in other nations if we fail to build our Nigeria. 1 Like |

Karatum: Honestly, you just spoke my mind. A nation's army being conveyed to the battle ground by commercial buses. It's a very big shame and there is no excuse for this unprofessional act by the army authority & the government. This tells a lot what our young military men are passing through at the war front as a result of the high rate of corruption being perpetrated by the politicians and within the top military authority. 1 Like |

This is one reason why I fear for the new train track construction on-going from Badagry-Lagos Island. We have not been able to properly manage the old low land tracks which is notorious for derailing, we are now building upland train tracks on bridges and over water water ways. May God help us to improve our maintenance attitude and our accident/emergency responsive behaviour. |

bigpicture001: I will disagree with you. I am a graduate of a conventional university, UNIMAID precisely, and I am presently running my MBA at NOUN. Honestly, it is only a dedicated and a serious minded student that would be able to go through NOUN successfully. Studying at NOUN is not easy and not for a lazy mind either. Their examination processes are world standard and better than what is obtained in conventional Nigerian Universities. I just completed the second semester stage of my MBA program but it seems more demanding than the entire 4years in my first degree stage. I used to have same perception like yours about NOUN and even went as far discouraging people from enrolling for studies there, but I have come to realisation after a friend convinced me in deciding on the choice of NOUN for my MBA, that it is indeed an institution with a standard that surpasses that of most Nigerian Universities. Your decision to get more knowledge is a desire and determination to learn. So, opting for NOUN where you have to motivate yourself to learn means you have to be a hardworking and serious student. Lets stop the descrimination against graduates of NOUN, give them a chance to prove their worth. And don't make a generalised conclusion because one student of NOUN was a total disappointment means all NOUN students are worthless. It could be applicable to any institution too as it is rightly said in pidgin english; "no be everybody wey go school na im know book". 3 Likes |
