Family / Re: My Marriage - A Sinking Ship. by kenmaro: 6:28pm On Jul 17, 2017
Prognose:

I read the whole thing.
You're not alone bro. The problems you're having is the same kind of problems married people have at this stage of their marriage. This is the setting limits stage. This is where you both draw the line on things you can tolerate and things you won't allow no matter what. This is the stage where you show the kind of man you are and your wife will likewise adapt as a woman. Your problem is nothing out of the ordinary that others in these phase of marriage have experienced.

You didn't see all these flaws in her initially because you were deeply in love with her then. You may have even noticed some of these things but pushed them aside. But now the euphoria of love have gone and both of you are seeing yourselves live and direct. It's not a new thing bros, trust me.

So she nags. Almost all women nag, some nag worse than others. It is kind of your job to be patient with her as the man. Pls try and control your temper, this is what will make you matured and will separate u from being a boy. When she shouts and talks ceaselessly find a way to leave the environment or ignore her, depending on the type u can do. Over time she will learn to control herself.
Her controlling herself and reducing her nagging and your not getting enraged to be slapping her shows that you are both coming of age in the marriage and are understanding each other and becoming mature.

Do you want her to go back to her job? Remember she is pregnant (for the first time) and in a delicate and scared state. She is quite vulnerable right now with the changes going on in her body. Your job at this time is to be as supportive as you can. I don't mean you should become her slave but try and give her more rope when she misbehaves. It gets worse at three to six months of age and then she should start returning back to normal.

Set a boundary for her father. The fact that he has cut the phone on you once is enough to piss you off. He's not married to her, you are. If he calls again tell him politely that this is your family and you have your own plans for your wife. If you don't have the mind to do this then u can just ignore him instead. This is your wife now, he should stop butting in.

Find a job for her to do, no matter how little. Also don't give up on yourself. Every married couple went through this stage, it is those that come out of it that last. If you break up now, what's to say in your next marriage u won't break up again at the first sign of difficulty. Your a postgraduate man, you should be more mature and patient bro.

Find an older married couple you can talk to for advice. Not online o. A respectable married couple or couples preferably from the generation before ours let them tell you what they've been through themselves. Marriage is hard work and the more work you put into it the sweeter it becomes.

Cheers bro.
Wow! you are quite an experienced counsellor. Great words of advise you just spilled here. Thumbs up!!!

Health / Diabetes Prevention Tips by kenmaro: 9:56pm On Jul 13, 2017
Diabetes prevention is as basic as eating more healthfully, becoming more physically active and losing a few extra pounds. It's never too late to start. Making a few simple changes in your lifestyle now may help you avoid the serious health complications of diabetes down the road, such as nerve, kidney and heart damage. Consider the following latest diabetes prevention tips;

1. Get more physical activity
There are many benefits to regular physical activity. Exercise can help you:
Lose weight
Lower your blood sugar
Boost your sensitivity to insulin — which helps keep your blood sugar within a normal range
Research shows that aerobic exercise and resistance training can help control diabetes. The greatest benefit comes from a fitness program that includes both.

2. Get plenty of fiber
It's rough, it's tough — and it may help you:
Reduce your risk of diabetes by improving your blood sugar control
Lower your risk of heart disease
Promote weight loss by helping you feel full
Foods high in fiber include fruits, vegetables, beans, whole grains and nuts.

3. Go for whole grains
It's not clear why, but whole grains may reduce your risk of diabetes and help maintain blood sugar levels. Try to make at least half your grains whole grains. Many foods made from whole grains come ready to eat, including various breads, pasta products and cereals. Look for the word "whole" on the package and among the first few items in the ingredient list.

4. Lose extra weight
If you're overweight, diabetes prevention may hinge on weight loss. Every pound you lose can improve your health, and you may be surprised by how much. Participants in one large study who lost a modest amount of weight — around 7 percent of initial body weight — and exercised regularly reduced the risk of developing diabetes by almost 60 percent.

5. Skip fad diets and just make healthier choices.
Low-carb diets, the glycemic index diet or other fad diets may help you lose weight at first. But their effectiveness at preventing diabetes isn't known, nor are their long-term effects. And by excluding or strictly limiting a particular food group, you may be giving up essential nutrients. Instead, make variety and portion control part of your healthy-eating plan.

If you're older than age 45 and your weight is normal, ask your doctor if diabetes testing is appropriate for you. Diabetes blood glucose screening is recommended if:
You're age 45 or older and overweight
You're younger than age 45 and overweight, with one or more additional risk factors for type 2 diabetes — such as a sedentary lifestyle or a family history of diabetes

Share your concerns about diabetes prevention with your doctor. He or she will applaud your efforts to keep diabetes at bay, and perhaps offer additional suggestions based on your medical history or other factors.

Car Talk / Re: Lagos State Govt To Charge Extra Money On Cars Owners by kenmaro: 9:00am On Mar 16, 2017
Omonigeriarere:

Stop swimming in the pool of ignorance: I paid TV and radio tax as far back as year 2000 when I have not even stepped my toes in Lagos.

It is constitutional: the only issue i have with them is that LG is supposed to be in charge of the collection and not SG.

Because you have been paying it ignorantly as far back as 2000 doesn't mean it was right. This is a different era we are and some wrongs which were done as a result of our past leaders greed need to be corrected. Their wasn't anything like 13% derivation for oil producing areas when oil was found & explored in Nigeria. The federal government was all alone receiving all receivables from oil proceeds & exploration until recent times when the 13% derivation was agreed on. Moreover, it could have been constitutional written that radio & tv taxes are to be paid but mind you our constitution is not rigid as it could be ammended when the need arises.
Car Talk / Re: Lagos State Govt To Charge Extra Money On Cars Owners by kenmaro: 8:36am On Mar 16, 2017
This is absolutely illegal despite the fact it's a little fee of 500 naira which might also be a great sum of money to anyone too. The government issues licenses to radio houses through the NBC & maybe NCC to commence operation, and these radio houses as well remits VAT & pay taxes to the federal government regularly in return from their revenues generated through adverts, jingles, etc which the federal government passes down to the state government as monthly revenue allocation shared among the 36 state of the federation. So, why requesting the public to pay another tax fee since is a free to air wave? Its just like telling every Nigerian that has a TV at home to pay a tax fee when we all know the TV house is actually show casing their programs & sponsored programs for paid advert purpose so as to make viewers patronise them. And, also some homes view local channels via satelite source like dstv and others of which taxable subscription has already been paid to the licensed service provider. This is double taxation.

We might call it shit, pangolo, scrap, etc. But to a good businessman, historian, archeologist, and others who know what this old piece can fetch, its a source of income and a valuable piece for a museum. We Africians will hustle, convert our hard earned money into dollar, euro, pounds, etc and travel on vacation to countries where such piece has been beautifully preserved, pay to go into the museum to view it. Just calculate how much this will fetch in return after like 10years where you have an annual museum visitors of 20,000 people from all over the world who pay like $100 to visit the museum. Na me and you go travel go there. We do not preserve our tourist attractions in Naija except drilling our crude oil wey our leaders dey steal.

So sorry about your predicament. I will advise that the card he left behind be investigated and the owner of that card be invited and also to check the photo of that card holder against the cctv footage of the scene where the fraud happened. If the card holder is seen in the cctv footage, then he is the criminal but if not seen he should explain how his card got their and also his photo be compared to the cctv image of face covered criminal at the withdrawal atm point. Involve the police if the bank refuses to release & investigate the stuck atm card.
Car Talk / Re: Please Tell Me About This Car by kenmaro: 2:51pm On Feb 02, 2017
Every car is good irrespective of the brand so long its been export certified. All they need is maintenance. You can't factor Nigerian usage & environment when looking at the reliability of any car. Bad roads, very very few car specialist, poor maintenance culture, too many inferior replacement & service parts available in Nigerian markets, greedy car mechanics reaping car owners off with wrong service, etc. Guy! buy that car so long its mechanically not faulty from point of purchase. The durability of that car depends on your driving habit and maintenance. Moreover, its a product from a world top famous car maker. Naija! we can buy lavishly, criticize and still use it classically but we can't produce any. The little we will manage to produce will even become more expensive than the substandard imported ones.

While andriods are for the youthful minds who are entertainment and app freaks, any apps goes into androids even viruses and any garbage, just create it.

.“ She was still talking to me before she passed out. The last request she made was that she needed palm oil , ” she said.

I think there is some truth about the sniper talk because from the landlady's statement above, the victim requested for palm oil possibly as an antidote for the sniper she drank earlier.
A thorough investigation is needed in this case. And also, i think the landlady is not been sincere in her statement as a witness. She needs to be questioned properly.

I had no target in mind, just to do some short term reinvestment in stocks with some idle funds. And my choice on uba and some other penny stocks was i felt it was undervalued having no much experience in stock trading but its been a stagnant stock likewise some others for a longer period.

Yo bought at 4.20 fine and good.
Has it gained much?
Have you seen their result?
Did they refuse you dividend?

Why not tell us you have a problem to solve so that we will get your reason of selling...........

I don't have a problem to solve. I don't think asking for your opinion is an offence. I have held this stock for over a year without any reasonable yield that's why i am asking if its good to sell now or still hold.
