Rather, Ughelli will be better centralised as the new state capital for spread of development around the new Delta. And leadership should be rotated among the Urhobos, Isokos, Itsekiris, and Ijaws starting with the Isokos who haven't ruled at anytime as the Urhobos and Itsekiris have had turns. With the new Delta, I expect even developments and cooperation. EreluRoz: |
Just imaging how political civilians are playing around with the Nigerian military and police. It's high time the military comes back to power in Nigeria to return the hitherto moral discipline in our society. Nigeria is not ripe for democracy by politicians. Politicians have done more harm/destruction than good. |
South-south no dey carry last, pata-pata na draw 🤣 850k minimum wage, lol 😆 I wish this will be possible. Anyway, good luck to NLC. |
I totally agree with Obi on this irrespective of party affiliations. The Lagos-calabar coastal highway is a misplaced priority. Considering the state of the East-west road and other pressing economic needs in Nigeria, I expected the Nigerian government to totally rehabilitate the East-West Road for now with a lesser cost while focusing on other more pressing needs and later maybe come back to the need of this coastal highway after maybe President Tinubu has settled some of the more pressing loads on him taking the coastal highway gradually. Note, this coastal highway will benefit my region in the south-south zone but I don't need to be selfish in the betterment of Nigeria as a whole which may adversely affect me in other areas. Rehabilitating the East-West Road will also serve the same purpose even though it's just a four lane road which I believe will still be fine if properly rehabilitated with no single potholes like was done on third mainland bridge. It is not late to abandon the coastal highway project and direct all the funds to the refinery, interstate railways linking all states to reduce heavy haulage on the highways which causes fast degradation of the roads, and the electricity issue which all these will increase productivity thereby increase the nation's GDP. |
BrandSpurNG:🤣🤣🤣 heyyyy!!!! I just dey laugh. This is EOA " Embezzled On Arrival. |
Source: https://punchng.com/delta-corper-dies-in-crash-nysc-warns-against-unauthorised-travel/
"NYSC is a one-year national service to give back to the country, and it’s just one year for you to stay in the state you are posted to and do your primary assignment. We always advise corps members not to embark on unnecessary journeys". I don't quite understand this quoted part: Why should a Nigerian student give back to the country? What assistance did Nigerian government give to the Nigerian students during their course of study whose parents personally suffered to train? The fees were never subsidised neither were no interest loans given? RIP to the dead young corner. May God grant him an eternal rest 🙏 |
meum:👍 This is the best comment I have read since this tariff increase. Increasing tariff because they want to give 20hr supply is total rubbish. If the light is steady at every nook and cranny, they will still generate very high revenue at even N10 per Kw with very outrageous profits to sustain their business because there will be increased and steady consumption. They used blackouts to frustrate Nigerians to accept any increased policy they introduce in the name of increased supply. Also, they are using a divide and rule system to reduce total outrage as result of the increment. Ninety percent of those areas classified as band A are occupied by very below average income earning Nigerians struggling to make ends meet. |
Scam! N225 is way too expensive. At N66 per Kwh was already on the high side if light was even steady. Jerking it up to N225 is suicidal when light is constant. That's about N167,400 in 31days. What is the average income of the ordinary Nigerian? And what will be left if a whooping N167,400 is spent only on electricity setting aside housing, transport, health, food, education, etc.? For those who are quick to jump at a conclusion that the increment is a welcome idea if electricity is constant, do have a rethink as this is a great exploitation. We should not be quick to always accept some tight government policies just because of lack and looking at our existing expense as a result of the lack. Note, this is like a monopolised service with very few providers serving a large consumers from which they definitely make undeclared profits. So, services like these are supposed to be reasonable not exploiting. Never use the dollar as a base factor as the Nigerian system can't play here considering lack in all sectors. |

BigIyanga:Honestly, he and his management team especially his corporate communications and marketing team are foolish. They could have used this issue to their advantage without prosecuting Chioma. I knew it will definitely go against Erisco. Majority of consumers will definitely support Chioma even without reviewing the product themselves. Note, it is easy to see fault than establishing a product's positive side in cases like this. |
chloride6:Exactly! The whole demand pressure is now going to be pushed to the black market thus creating a scarcity and continuous fall of the naira. |
Pat081:Oh yeahhhh, you are quite very right. I never thought about that. But even at that, for him to approve that payment, it means the funds are always there just that they hold them back because of greed. God will help us 🙏 |
honestivo:Honestly, especially my state, Delta. If Ondo can pay 35k, Delta state should be mandated to pay 50k as they are recipient of the highest federal monthly allocation. I want to see Delta at the top always even striving to surpass Lagos State in infrastructural development too. It should not be "Big Heart" for nothing. |

This is a very delicate case that the corporate communications team of Erisco foods needs to apply wisdom if not it will dent the public image of the company towards their consumers loyalty as it may be seen that Erisco foods don't care about her consumers opinion. The talk by the CEO of Erisco foods that Chioma is a member of syndicate is an assumption that holds no water until facts are proven. Using force to frustrate a consumers opinion so as to get public or consumers loyalty doesn't help a brand image as consumers will be divided on their thoughts and most will go with Chioma as faults are easily noticed in products testing like in this case. The CEO of Erisco foods should refrain from using vulgar words like "I can help people who want to die to die" on screen as this will be seen as arrogant by most of the public and his own concern as a business owner won't be seen anymore. No matter what, Chioma was part of the consuming family of Erisco foods who felt not just dissatisfied but something was in excess in the product and only aired her thoughts wrongly. I think detaining her in the police custody isn't fair as it wasn't a criminal offence rather a civil one. I will advice the management and corporate communications team of Erisco to sit down and review this case to see how best to use it to better promote their brands not prosecuting a dissatisfied consumer. Note; I have so much admired the progression of Erisco foods from the 90s and I was elated when I heard about the paste manufacturing plant and also the commissioning by President Buhari. Criticism is part of a process that helps strengthen a brand. Erisco should not only look at it from the negative side rather they should harness the positive side. @Ibori, yeye dey smell. What did you do for your state, Delta, when you were in power. You are now jumping up and down singing praises of others. You should hide your face in shame! Delta state is supposed to be ranked among the first 5 most developed states in Nigeria. Una just dey chop all allocation back to back. No light, no good road networks. Shift! |

...and it didn't work. They are only making policies for the ordinary Nigerian who travels, hustles, saves, and send some of it back home to help his family back home or to invest because no politician sends peanut through western union rather they meander huge funds through offshore account settlements. I would have suggested they disallow personal domiciliary accounts but it will make them take the money to foreign banks outside Nigeria. Only solution is declare an emergency on industrialisation of the whole economy, reduce drastically tax burden on 100% local content manufacturing companies, stabilise electricity, improve on security, guarantee investment security, reduce drastically the rate of corruption in government and political offices, etc. You will the naira smiling! chopnaira: |

I knew this is coming with the current administration at the federal level. |
jaybee3:My brother, I didn't listen oo. I sold off and the train left me behind. Though it hurts but it's one of those lessons of life like he said. You lose in some areas and gain in others. Thanks for your concern 🙏 |
They have opened another milking pipe line. All these years, we haven't heard of electricity subsidy but because they were anti fuel subsidy they couldn't bring it back rather they had to look for another story to tell us which is "electricity subsidy". |
millionboi2:Their body language will tell you not to expect any substantial price differences as they're just going round and avoid the pricing. The current pump prices have been strategically set to welcome this indigenous refineries. They will present an epistle explaining to us why the prices cannot be adjusted. Let's sit and watch this movie. Cheers! |
SMH ! Democracy is not good for Nigeria. Bring back militocracy let them wip our bum bum. Nigerians are more orderly and well-behaved when coerced. |
May God bless you greatly for these words 🙏. This is exactly what I have always thought about too. muykem: |
Exposing them is not enough as Nigerian politicians have no public shame anymore. Also, I don't see prosecution and final detention in Europe or America as enough punishment for erring Nigerian politicians as I deem their detention facilities too posh and a mere restriction of normal freedom to our politicians who will return to a welcome ovation and posh life after release from foreign imprisonment. I wish they could be put through tough detention facilities like they created in Nigeria with very unhygienic environment and hard labour around daredevil criminals. theophorus: |
"Seen" or intentionally arranged and recorded by a member of his entourage? |
BOSSkesh:Who are the hoarders? Is the C in C and all politicians who have no business with the dollar exempted? Until we all realise that the dollar is not our local currency and stop saving in dollar and fully industrialise the Nigerian economy, Naira will continue to plunge further. |
Exactly! You are filled with wisdom. These cosmetic palliatives won't be sustained. They are just to douse the tension they are envisaging. I am waiting to see if they would also subsidise the commodity market too. Government of confused and deceitful minds. If caution is not applied, the current situation in Niger may happen to Nigeria. We have got all we need to become a great country, all that is pulling us back is CORRUPTION & GREED. Dee60: |
Anyone that believes this Isa Yagudu, have just been cajoled. All what he is saying are lies. These are just political strategies employed by the political class to calm the minds of Nigerians on the effect of the subsidy removal making it seem like this is fine. Subsidy removal is more money to be shared by the states. Corruption is not just limited to subsidy cabals, all state governors and politicians are guilty of Corruption. What have they be doing with monthly federal allocation been shared to their states? Bad roads and lack of basic infrastructures everywhere. Allocations are shared and pocketed. sameoldguy: |
With BAT'S level of wealth and if he truly meant well for a better Nigeria, I expected him to turn down the salary and most money allowances for his office of the president to set a pace for a better Nigeria as a true patriot. For now, I see selfishness in every Nigerian politician. Nigerians should not be expectant ! |
