To all the Christians on this thread, remember that there's a difference between evangelizing and arguing. The Word of God you believe clearly says that the things of the Spirit are foolishness to the carnal mind. They cannot be carnally discerned. Therefore, if you truly believe the Word you preach you would understand that this is not a matter to be argued. Remember also that the Holy Spirit does not convince. He convicts. |
If this allegation isn't true, then it's pure wickedness. Why would anyone want to make money by publicly accusing someone of something as sensitive as this without any concrete proofs? Is their intention to destroy her career or what? I think her reputation is worth more than N700m. |
This is not about blaming anyone but I find it hard to understand how a nanny could have been standing and watching a 2 and half year old to alight from a bus ALL BY HERSELF. It's ridiculous. Also, I think we send kids to school way too early in this part of the world. If we must, then we have to be really careful. For a child that age to go or come back from school unassisted by a designated adult is risky, if you as me. Parents just have to wake up cos this is one more proof that money's not everything. It's very comforting to know though, that Simi's safe with Jesus. |
English is obviously not the guy's first language. But how's that a problem? Good English doesn't equal common sense. And trust me, the guy makes sense when he does his foreign accent-free analysis. Which for me means that he's comfortable with who he is. Many people on NL write worse English than Ikpeba speaks. Dem dey sharp their mouth now becos we no dey see face for here. If you trust yourself, go siddon hot-seat for TV naim you go know sey khaki no be leather. Appreciate the guy for who he is jare! |

Boko Haram, like a used sanitary towel, will soon be dumped to be remembered no more. |
Whoever did this rating, I love you |
Like Pharaoh, some people will never learn. They have such huge need to be recognised that they consciously choose the path of ignorance and insolence. As the dear pants for water, so their souls pant for public acceptance. They forget that there's life, real life overseen by God Himself, after Nairaland. |
Some people will never learn. Perhaps their place in hell pulls them too strongly. |
It's amazing how people claim to know Jesus, yet, can't heed one of His most vital commands. He said 'do not judge', because the same red biro that you use to score someone F9 is the same one others will use to score you (paraphrased). Jesus also said that you who are pointing at a speck in someone else' eye, actually do have a log in yours. If you truly have the interest of the body of Christ at heart and you believe, by Bible standards, that these men of God are going over-board, speak to them. And if you do not have access to do so, then pray for them. The Bible says we're one body in Christ. I'm sure you'd never rain insults on an injured part of your body no matter how painful it is. While it's ok to have an opinion, criticism is not a known catalyst for change. Besides, that stone you're holding in your hand, would you really be able to haul it at any of these men of God if Jesus were standing right beside you? Would you be that sinless? I think we need to spend more time preparing towards giving account of our own stewardship when we stand before God. These men of God are called by Him, just like we all are. He gave them an assignment, just as He's given everyone of us, if only we'd pay more attention and discover it. He alone knows what He's called each of us to do. Therefore, I think it's wise of us to let Him do the judging. |
This might very well be the beginning of many more decisions to be made by her 'father-in-law' in their marriage. Doesn't seem like a good sign but i wish her well! |
Is this a joke or what? Do some people honestly think GEJ has the time or interest to comment or read their comments on facebook? |
It's a shame how people come on here and show absolute disrespect for themselves and others. It's a show of cowardice. I did it once about 4 years ago so I speak from experience. Thank God I'm wiser now. |
After all said and done, na una sabi. I know I will still subscribe to both DSTV and HITV and di tin dey pain me. ![]() Last season I was only always sure to subscribe to HITV cos they showed the major football tournaments. Now I will be forced to subscribe to both cos one shows Champions league and the other EPL. That's definitely more money on my favourite form of entertainment. By the way, N3, 500 for Champions league, Nickelodeon (for my son), Carling Cup, Seria A and Fox news no bad like that na. Please be easy on Mr. Subair, I'm sure he's already getting the point. |
On the bright side, talents are being discovered. Brilliant concept! |
Show the affluent in Lagos (most of whom got their money through dubious means) and they're inspired to steal more and get more recognition. Show the slums in Lagos and perhaps, just perhaps, you can get the government thinking. This documentary is a fact and an eye-opener and that does it for me. I'd rather we put our house in order than moan about someone showing our dirty linen in public. We need to keep our linen clean, we need to get the skeleton out of our cupboard so that there's no longer anything to hide. Oyinbo people have never loved us and probably never will. So, let's give them little or nothing to talk about by getting our acts together. No be quarrel! If e pain us well well, then let's retaliate! |

thanks so much. but can you give me any contact? and how long have you been using them? |
Hi peeps, pls i need you to recomend a good fund/portfolio manager to me. i spoke with one chic that works for Aims Asset Management LTD in marina a while ago but i couldnt trace then on the SEC website and i didnt want to take any chances. Your recommendation will be highly appreciated. thanks. |
Hi, i'd say with the new premiership viewing right largely in favour of HITV, you'd need both. HITV shows 80% of premiership matchs while DSTV show the English FA, Carling Cup, La Liga, Seria A and most importantly, Champions League. since most football fans are usually interested in every one of these, your best bet would be to buy both. |
Asa is so good she leaves me ecstatic every time I listen to her songs. so soothing, You can get her CDs from street vendors at N150.00 and at NuMetro for N600. |

@ Pip, I think i've enjoyed your crush-confessions the most although you sounded quite crushed towards the end . something tells me you've rued those moments over the years, especially the ones with your school teacher. what a "teacher" she must have been . shake it off man!Me, i had a fling before my first crush - was 5yrs. well, i was 5yrs when we were caught, cant remember when we actually started. it was with my neighbour's kid who was probably a couple of months younger. and then in primary school, i had a crush on a very cute "mystery" boy in a school that shared boundaries with mine. the most i knew about him (which was many years later) was that his name was Jason. his father used to drive him to school in a Volkswagon beetle and i used to just stand at a distance and watch and admire him as he walked into his school, never speaking to anyone. he was my idea of a perfect human and i used to dream and fantasize about him, although i doubt if he ever noticed me. that really didnt bother me cos he was good enough living in my mind. i gathered when i was in secondary school that he relocated to England. the image of him still pops up in my mind once in a while and to think that i didnt so much hear him speak, |
