Family / Re: What's your Ideal Family Size? by Kenya(f): 10:20am On Jul 09, 2005
I used to always say that I will have as many as God will allow me too until I had 15 nephews and neices. They are fun but man they drive me up the wall sometimes. I don't have any children yet and it's almost scary how things are going now. So I really don't know, Idealy I want to have a large enough family so that we could have lot's of fun and love for each other and so that our genes may live a long while.  My husband will have to help with this decision.

Romance / Re: Do Long Distance Relationships Work? by Kenya(f): 9:58am On Jul 09, 2005
It's different for everyone. I tried it once and it was very different for me and I didn't handle it so well.
My situation was that we met in person and hung out and bonded, we were together all of the time or talking. Then he moved to another state. We still talked and made plans to see each other.

It didn't last that long because the patience wasn't there and the anticipation over took the relationship. I wanted the physical bond we had because I was already used to it. I couldn't see him when I wanted nor talk with him when I needed too and the same for him. Then the phone bill became a problem sometimes for both of us. I used a computer he didn't. He needed emotional security in certain ways that I wasn't able to give because I was tired. We lived in different time zones., our work hours were different. When I'm sleeping he's at work and vice  versa, It was crazy for a while.

He wanted me to move where he lived. I was afraid because I didn't have family or friends there and have only known him for a year so I could not place all of my trust in that situation just yet. Trust issues came up. We both didn't truly know what was going on with each other because we couldn't see for our selves. He would accuse me, I would thin him  but didn't say. We tried to get it together but we didn't give it enough time. But like I said it's different for everyone. I'm glad we talked on the phone for a while because I was able to deal with his mind more than emotions and I was able to see allot of more things clearer and found out that he was not who I wanted nor needed to be with in the long run.

So there's good and bad to it but you have to weigh it out for yourself and figure out what you want and how does this person fit into your life and you fit into their's. It could work. People get married to strangers all of the time and live for the rest of their lives. Pre arranged marriages. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

It's always a gamble because we never really know

Hey I'm in a class all by my self kiss kiss kiss
I didn't say I was high supreme but it doesn't mean that I accept everything that comes my way either. I love myself and I'm all that I have so I have to be careful, especially now a days. Can't let everyman charm me because he wants to try his luck with me.
A person has got to have some standards for themselves. If you don't stand for nothing then you will fall for anything.

How about that grin grin grin

Family / Re: Women Paying Dowry For their Husbands? by Kenya(f): 9:34am On Jul 09, 2005
Outside of ethnic or community culture there is a thing called human culture and Human nature which can be broken into specific genders as well.
Example: we all function on the same human ways of living. We use air for breathing, we use water for hydration and we use physical food to nurture our bodies and so on.

What I mean by Original is the natures that God created us in and with as man and woman.
He created men physically stronger than women for a reason. He created women to be delicate for a reason. It all ties into Gods original plan for man and woman.

What is his original plan? Well there's not a specific answer to that but we can assume the bottom line is to submitt to God's will no matter what. God's original plan doesn't mean that man and woman don't evolve, God wants us to evolve. But just because we evolve, discover and create new things in this world doesn't mean that our original natures change. We still have the same natures as humans and man and woman and those natures are still governed by the same principles that God created them with.
When we go against our natures we create bigger problems and go further away from what was intended.

My whole point is that we can have our cultures but our cultures must not conflict with the original culture of mankind as God has designed it.  Another example

There is a culture of men who love other men. The conflict is clear to me. Some may say that it's normal and it's their life. I would say Yes it's their life and it is normal to decide to be how you are but in retrospect according to the Original culture of man it's not normal. It conflicts with man's nature completely. He is imbalanced and UN-able to produce as a part of why he was put here. He's 100% masculine with out feminine balance of a natural woman.

How it relates to this topic. Men are originally the head providers of women so if she's the head provider then the roles are switched and there's an imbalance and it should conflict with both natures. But now a days men are so use to being treated like women and love for women to take care of them giving them the easy way out. The flip side is that women have been oppressed for so long or suffer the lost of our men in wars or more that we pick up the bill in striving to prove that we can handle things and take care of everything and he could play our roles until he ge's in together.
yet he can't nurse the children, nor can he deliver them from a womb that he doesn't have.

I hope you get my point. Sorry if not this is the best i can do. Maybe someone who understand me can help you understand the point I'm making. We are all entitled to our opinions so I respect yours
Romance / Re: Can A Girl Choose a Husband on Love Alone? by Kenya(f): 9:07am On Jul 09, 2005
I'm not married yet so these are ideas and beliefs that I have so far about my future.

According to the topic.

For me marriage is more than love this is a life long contract and partnership. We must be able to work within union together, We have to be compatible in some ways and we have got to strive for a balance in our relationship. We must be friends and able to communicate openly with one another.

He must have his life, I must have mine and we must have one together so that we don't loose our selves and our individual lives must not conflict too much with our life together. There are goals to meet together and personal achievements that we both want and need.

Example he may love technology and I may love community development these are very different but we must find a common ground to support each other and meet the bigger goal.

I'm not saying that love isn't important because you have got to have love for a person that you're going to be with. I'm just saying that it's not the most important factor. Love is an emotion and emotions are not stable because they change all of the time. One minute you think you are in love and the next you don't. So for me it's not stable enough for me to make it the bases of my choice for marriage. Besides, now a days we have to really define love too, so is it really love and if it is then what is love?

This doesn't mean marriage would be perfect it just means that you have an idea of what you are looking at and have a base to help put things back into perspective when the hard times come. Most of my friends and family are married so I get to listen and see many things. I try to learn from them and I know I will have to experience it for myself to have greater understanding of how it really works.

It's better if you know what you want but it can be complex if you are not sure and that's with any relationship.

Hold fast Mr.
For me I am a woman of good morals and I look for that in any man that thinks he can approach me. The first impression is the long lasting one. So if the guy was very handsome I problally would have been more insulted that he had to stoop so low. The best way to get my attention is to pay me no attention. I'm not easily flatter, especially by cheap acting men off any class.
And further more if he would have said that your G-String is showing I probably asked him why didn't he feel it with cash, sicne you noticed it, now the peep show is over kiss kiss kiss Now what. lol

Family / Re: Women Paying Dowry For their Husbands? by Kenya(f): 10:04pm On Jul 08, 2005
I almost laughed so hard when I read your post. You seem a little comfused about men doing a woman a favor by marrying her. Are you crazy? were you dropped on your head? lol. No but really How is that a good thing for a man by having a woman pay his way? If anything it seems as if it would take away from his credibility. Truthfully women respect men who hold their own. When a woman takes care of you she has little to know respect for you as a man and would more than likly look at you as if you were her property of play thing, unless she was a very different woman which is very rare. I do not have a problem with people's cultures if that's how they choose to function I'm just saying that it's not the original way that it was designed.

Romance / Re: Relationship Advice Needed (how do I handle this?) by Kenya(f): 9:56pm On Jul 08, 2005
Oh so you know a little about Minneapolis, MN? Yes metro state is in st.paul, mn and downtown Minneapolis. I will return this fall at the downtown location. It's cool because it's mostly working adults and they are very flexible. I take night courses so it works with my job. The weather is hot and sticky, It's mostly sticky here because we have so much water. The truth is that in the state of MN the weather is so funny that it could snow at anytime, so you have to be on guard here.

Yeah whatever, That wasn't a good way to break the ice. The guy was a pervert as far as I'm concerned.
And yes telling me that I look nice is not a bad thing, I'm just saying that it doesn't get you in the door for a sucessful relationship.

Pkrix has just gotten all of you men either slapped in the face, left standing looking stupid or told that she has someone else. What are you thinking? you must be young minded. You may get a girl like that but you will never land a woman that way because a woman knows that beauty is not the most important thing. Besides I would look at you as if you were crazy because when I left my home that day I already knew I was looking good so I didn;t need you to tell me. And the fact that you told me was an insult. I'm not impressed, try again.

I was on the bus today and I was eating a cookie. This guy thought he was helping me out by telling me I dropped a piece of cookie between my leggs. I was disgusted with him and I frowned my face to let him know how stupid he was and I did not say thank you. Who did hell did he think he was talking too jerk? The crumb was going to drop anyways when I stood up so he didn't need to tell me that. Secondly he just let me know that he was trying to look at my private area through my pants. PERVERT!!!!! My pants were loose and black and the cookie was brown. He has to be looking pretty hard because it was a little crumb.

Men i'll tell you, they don't think about the right thing too much but you can count on them thinking about the wrong thing a lot.

TV/Movies / Re: African American Movies by Kenya(f): 6:08am On Jul 08, 2005
Being African American I would say that some of the movies are cool but I am sick and tired of seeing the negative or un intelligent movies being dispaled about us. These movies paint pitcures in peoples head and most times it's not real it's just a thought or something. All you see is people acting stupid or killing, hurting or slavery pitcures or something. Now it may be apart of our reality but there are many more things to show. I am very interested in seeing positive images of African American movies. The positive movies don't make the top of the charts. This is killing us so bad.

I did love Madea's movies. She's funny and she keeps it real.

Jokes Etc / Re: How To Shower Like A Woman by Kenya(f): 5:40am On Jul 08, 2005
Hey we're not that bad. If a woman does this all of the time she has serious issues. What you descibed was a once a week or every two week treatment that we give our delicate beautiful bodies. At least I do because that's just too much time to spend on bathing in a day.
