Vera wang is apparently a 70-year-old woman trapped in a 20-something's body or she's a vampire -- because she doesn't look a day past 30 here, and the world is awestruck.

The fashion designer posed for a little quarantine photo shoot this week at her home in Miami, where she threw on a bright orange sports bra with a black hoodie hanging off her arms ... and some tight short-short denim cutoffs which showed off her killer legs.

Nairalanders, What are your thoughts on this

Politics / Few Things To Know About Ibrahim Agboola, Buhari's New Cos by kenzosky: 3:09pm On May 12, 2020
Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, CFR, OCORT, a scholar-diplomat, is the Founder/Chairman of the Board of Directors of Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development, a non-governmental think-tank on research and policy studies on conflict prevention and resolution as well as democratization and development in Africa. SCDDD seeks to promote the evolution of Africa into a prosperous, politically stable and globally respected continent which is motivated by the culture of good governance.

Professor Gambari has had an illustrious career, spanning academia, government and international diplomacy, culminating with his appointment as the first United Nations Under-Secretary General and Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Africa (1999-2005). In that capacity, he worked closely with heads of government, key policymakers as well as institutions in the continent to develop the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD). During this period, he was concurrently the Resident Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Mission to Angola (2002-2003). He has been a delegate to the Assembly of the OAU/African Union as a national delegate (1984-1985) and as a member of the UN Secretary-General’s delegation (2000-2012). He was the Chairman of the United Nations Special Committee Against Apartheid (1990-1994) during which he worked closely with African governments to coordinate UN policy to eradicate apartheid, thereby building trust and confidence with governments and policymakers in member countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Ambassador Gambari was Under-Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Department of Political Affairs (2005-2007). In that period, he also operated as UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy on Cyprus, Zimbabwe and Myanmar. On 22 May 2007, the Secretary-General entrusted him with the Good Offices Mandate on Myanmar. He also served as a delegate at the 2014 National Conference on the restructuring and promotion of national unity in Nigeria. At international level, Professor Gambari held numerous United Nations positions, including Chairman of the UN Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations and the UNSG's Special Adviser on Africa. Professor Gambari also served as Joint AU/UN Special Representative in Darfur and Head of UNAMID, which was then the largest international peacekeeping operation in the world and the first hybrid Mission. Health / Strangely Coincidental That The 2020 US Coins Have Bats Printed On Them by kenzosky: 5:58am On May 08, 2020
You all know everyone just see bats and thinks pandemic.

The U.S. Mint's decision to put the American Samoan fruit bat on the back of 2020 quarters probably seemed perfectly innocent ... pre-coronavirus, but now it's kinda creepy.

Here's the deal ... the 2020 quarter, which was put into circulation in February, honors America's Pacific Island territory, and features a cheerful-looking mama fruit bat and her pup hanging upside down.

The National Park of American Samoa is home to the species ... hence the currency shout-out. Only problem is we're all a bit freaked out about bats, considering one widely held scientific belief that the virus jumped to humans from bats sold in Wuhan's wet markets.

Before its release, the U.S. Mint said ... "The image evokes the remarkable care and energy that this species puts into their offspring. The design is intended to promote awareness to the species’ threatened status due to habitat loss and commercial hunting."

The odd timing of the bat quarter's release is already fueling the conspiracy theory that the government plotted the COVID-19 outbreak.

For those who choose to believe that, keep this piece of scientific fact in mind -- the Samoan fruit bats live far, far away from Wuhan's wet markets.

Health / Re: India To Produce Coronavirus Vaccine That Works On Monkeys by kenzosky: 7:00pm On Apr 28, 2020
The problem is who would get the vaccine first?
This can be a difficult question when there’s a limited amount of vaccine and a whole lot of demand.

Since older adults appear to be most at risk from COVID-19, it’s likely that health officials would focus on them first.

Medical professionals, who are both at high risk of exposure and are needed to care for those who are sick would likely be a priority as well.

Followed by front-line healthcare workers who are usually one of the first groups to vaccinate because they need their workforce in place.

And lets not forget that the citizens of the country that produce the vaccines will be the first people to be vaccinated

Given all the steps that are required before a vaccine can be manufactured in large quantities and before it can be sold to other countries could take up to 18 months. Then, for it to get to the African populace, make we leave story for another day.

Bottom line! Keep washing your hands, wear protective face masks, Only God will save the Black man.

Another assumption and conspiracy against the Chinese. Can you please give me examples of communities or place that the Chinese have taken over from an aboriginal lately?
This is akin to the assumption that the Igbos take over any community or territory that they dominate in economics terms.

All these cheap blackmails from the west (which you are helping to propagate) to discredit the efforts of the Chinese at developing the continent they have all literally abandon will definitely come back to haunt them.

I am not holding briefs for the Chinese neither do I find them appealing or attractive in their drive to economic prosperity.

OK, let me Spell this out for you, China wants everything from Africa: its strategic location, its oil, its rare earth metals, and its fish, leaving African nations indebted to Beijing.

Do you know that Chinese boats are currently reaching to west Africa, sweeping our sea of any kind of fish that tries to swim through their spread nets?

Do you know that Chinese shops owners currently don't allow Black people into their shops and business centers all over the world including Europe and America? Lets not even talk of how they are currently chasing anyone with a black skin out off their rented /mortgaged houses in China leaving Black families and their children in the streets to either die of cold, hunger or diseases.

Just like history have thought us, Africa has served the global ambitions of many foreigners. Foreigners have reached out to Africa as missionaries, financiers, and infrastructure builders. They have promised to place the continent on the globalization map and help its people grow out of poverty. But they ended up grabbing Africa’s riches, colonizing one nation after another, and letting the African people steep in poverty.
That may end up being the case again, with China’s recent infrastructure investment projects in the continent.

On the surface, these projects seem to serve the quest of African nations to build a sound infrastructure. But on closer examination, they serve China’s ambitions to write the rules of the next stage of globalization.
China wants to use Africa as a location to secure maritime roads (and the OBOR projects) that facilitate Chinese exports, as evidenced by Beijing’s large military presence in Djibouti and other parts of Africa.

Long story short, the truth is that the chinese are using these investments to bind African countries to China politically, and through debt obligations, it creates a form of leverage that China can use to force African countries to support Chinese ambitions globally. Take a look at what they are currently doing to the Angolan oil sector or the Congolese rare earth mining.

Spurious and senseless assumptions.

One fact about population that you don't know is that the whole population of the world currently (about 7 billion people), if they all converge together in one place like say northern Nigeria, they won't fill up the whole land there. You think because the Chinese are in billions the earth is very small to accommodate them? Go and check their population density.

Another thing is that China as a country is amongst the largest in the world after Russia, India, Brazil.
These are not assumtions like you said, these are doubtless facts. The Chinese are widely known to behave and act like the locust plague once they start invading foreign territories in the guise of trade and amity, before you know it, they start forming their own communities, expanding their terrain, excluding the aboriginals/indiginous people of the land from partcipating in anything that take place within their communities. Worse is, they don’t give employment to the indigines rather they start bringing in more chinese to fill every possible employment space in their various investment, and apart from been Intellectual Property Theft, they start enticing local industry owners with money and buying off their investments and importing more chinese to take over these industries, and they won't stop there, they will take their evil agenda five step forward and start buying airports, stadiums, natural resourses companies, while their leaders and diplomats from the CCP continue to loan our foolish Africa leaders money with huge interest rates that they can never repay , and it goes on and on until they own every milk and honey in the land. Then, at this point that they alredy have the land, the people, the leader/politicians and the natural resourses in their pockets, the indigines will become frustrated and will want to revolutionized the total invasion of the chinese, but, it will be too late because they don’t just own the country they also have build and still building military bases all over Africa should incase the Black man wants to do anything stupid and funny by trying to take back their countries and livelihood from the invaders. And when this finally happen the West, America /Europe won't lift a Finger because they warned us of the chinese and their New stratagem of invasion, but we didn't listen. Nobody will come to our aid, after all who wants to involve in a nukes war with the CCP/Chinese gornvernment. By then, the Black man would beg the chinese for employments, of course the chinese will reconsider and employ the senseless Black as they call us to wash their toilets and Clean their houses for plates of Miàntiáo..

Health / The Two Main Pandemics We Are Fighting At The Moment by kenzosky: 4:02pm On Apr 25, 2020
Two main pandemics at the moment we are fighting......

1. Coronavirus and
2. Hunger virus.

Two main group of people at the moment fighting the the pandemics......

1. The Rich and
2. The poor.

The global irony and the African outlook......

The rich is afraid of the virus.

The poor is afraid of hunger.

The rich wants the poor to stay at home to avoid the spread, but hunger won't allow the poor to stay at home.

The poor fears that if they stay at home, the hunger virus will kill them.

The rich fears that if they also come out of their homes the coronavirus will kill them.......

What a delicate situation we have .........

Opinion:

In other to restore the world or Nigeria to it's normal social equilibrium.

The rich should assist the poor with food, so that they can stay at home.

When the rich succeeds in keeping the poor at home by providing enough food.

The spread of the coronavirus which the rich fears the most will be chased out!

This is common sense.....Yet because some people have the microphones, all you hear is ...... “stay at home”.......... “stay at home” .

How can they stay at home when the hunger virus is at home.

Politics / Re: Kyari Played Key Role In Return Of $300m Abacha Loot — US Govt by kenzosky: 4:14pm On Apr 24, 2020
Personally, i think Mallam Abba Kyari was a good man whose only sin was to follow the golden rules of being a truly good Interlocutor who possess some high qualities of trustworthyness, compassion, optimism and good communication skills that didn't just made him the chosen one in the presidential villa, but, was also given the power to build a high barrier between the President and all corrupt Nigerian leaders /politicians that almost drove them crazy to the extend of labelling him all sorts of names when he was alive and started celebrating his death while he was still on mechanical ventilation.

Meninmen:

I apologize on his behalf if those bolded words pained you, but Farooq, in his article stated what most UNBIASED Nigerians already know. He presented some facts and left some facts out because Nigerians already know.

One of your opening statements reads: "As we all know, there are so many things going on in the Presidential villa that we don't know, all we hear are rumours and speculations without firm evidence".

My friend, you know, you just don't want to believe.
No one knows more of the happenings in the presidential Villa than the president's wife (Aisha Buhari) and she has repeatedly come out to tell Nigerians that her husband's govt has be hijacked by cabals and that her husband was no longer in charge ( remember she threatened not to campaign for his re-election if things Doesn't change).

If you witnessed or was told by an elder about Buhari's first time in govt as a military leader, nothing now will surprise you. Governance was left for his second in command (idiagbon). He has never been known to accept responsibility or show leadership.

Kyari was our president. Ministers knows this. Kyari had more power than the VP. Are you aware that Kyari chaired meetings of security chiefs (even without the minister of defense). You remember the memo from the minister of defense warning security chiefs not to attend meetings called by Chief of staff (Kyari) as he has no constitutional authority to do that?

He was the one overseeing ministries and ministers. Are you aware it was Kyari that ordered that procurements by the ministry of health be made through the ministry of agric because he felt Adewole (former minister of health) spent some money outside budgetary allocations? That's d reason Adewole was not considered as MOH for Buhari 2nd term. This action of his hampered the ministry's response to COVID-19. It's a pity he died from complications of the same COVID-19.

I want to say more, but I'm tired of typing. The facts are there b4 you. You have choose to believe what you want to believe.

Apology accepted on his behalf. Thanks for the remarkable and superlative explanations, am not trying to tut-tut him for beating up or taking our President /leaders /politicians to task for their ills and stupidities, my main concern was his antagonistic air of writting about the Nigerian leadership/ political system in general without implying some common senses of professional ethical codes in journalism,(pictorial/video evidence ) which can entails considerable risks to his career as a journalist /culumnist. Moreover, aggressive journalism isn't the neccessary/ proper way to get his message accross / into his readers hearts, rather, its the contrary, which means' that they will only get the wrong sides of the message that isn't going to benefit or do anyone good. For instance, he said Nigeria is now truly leaderless,(wrong message) meaning, we currently don't have a leader, therefore, there would be nobody to hold accountable for the ills and wrongs that are presently going on in the country, (in accordance with the principles of democracy Buhari is still our democratically elect president and should be hold accountable for all the wrongs and good in the country) So, we don't want Nobody telling us that he is now in the land of the living dead when he is still obviously alive and kicking." He's a breathing mannequin", WRONG MESSAGE ".
MY FRIEND, What do you think if Buhari should take this message as an excuse to escape his RESPONSIBILITIES? which is very common in the new world we are living in, all that people want this days is comfort, to hell with the negativities people attribute to them, and Buhari as a human is not exempted from this New world Norms, long story short, "the word SHAME is almost a derogotary word of the past" just like lots of people now hide under the umbrella of mental illiness /deppression to express, do and say what they like because they know their wrong doings will be count/counted as been of that of a
mentally challenged/weirdo. What if Buhari, after reading what Farook said about him and decided to ostentatiously take the part of hiding in the land of the dead ? Which means Nigeria as a country will totally fall into the black hole because there would be Nobody to look upto/hold responsible, the masses won't know where to start from, after-all, they have been told and made to believe that the president is dead and he's notting short of a manniquin, thus, there would be nobody to rescue the nation from the dark abyss because we Nigerians are not people known to take the bull by it horns. However the case may be, all that we can do due to our timid nature' is to wait for another election, where-by' scums and rogues will also be voted into office to start from where the previous scums stopped.
Bottom line! Since our past/present leaders/politicians have woefully failed in all ramification of leadership and democracy, we shouldn't follow their ways, we should learn to be good and serious in our various aspect of professions, by saying/doing things the ways they are, and the way they ought to be done without skewing facts to please our own selfish and egocentric agenda.
