Politics › We Are Ready For War, Militants Tell Buhari by KEVIND(op): 12:36pm On Nov 06, 2016
Niger Delta militants on Saturday threatened ‘war’ while dissociating themselves from the meeting elders from the oil-rich region had with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja, last Tuesday.

Apart from distancing themselves from the meeting, they warned the Federal Government not to rejoice yet over the recent rise in oil production in the country, threatening that a series of attacks await oil facilities in the region in the days ahead.

The militants also asked the Federal Government to drop the charges against Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, and other leaders from the region.

The Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate, which is the only militant group that has refused to key into the ceasefire with the government, also claimed responsibility for Wednesday’s bombing of the Trans-Forcados Crude Export pipelines near Batan community in the Warri South-West Council Area of Delta State.

The Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, had on Tuesday said Nigeria’s oil production had recently risen to normal after a sharp drop earlier this year due to renewed militant attacks on oil and gas facilities in the region.

In a statement issued on Saturday by its spokesperson, Aldo Agbalaja, the militant group accused President Muhammadu Buhari’s government of plotting to wage war against the people of the Niger Delta region.

“As a matter of fact, what the Avengers did to the oil industry will be nothing compared to the grand plan already set by our central command. We shall bring Nigeria’s daily output quota to below 500,000 barrels. Just be ready for the approaching tsunami.

“The multinational oil companies, we know you are recalcitrant and will always come to test wills, we hope you will continue in this tradition so there will always be reason to let the world know that ‘you don’t contest the corners of a house with the owner of the house.’

“The destruction of the Trans-Forcados Pipeline is just a warning. We warned against the restarting of the facility, but the daring companies won’t listen. That shadow operation that brought the TFP down was only meant to let these companies know that we aren’t kidding with them; when we say stay down, you stay down, and it’s in your best interest.”

The militant group described last Tuesday’s meeting between Buhari and stakeholders, including traditional rulers from the region as a humiliation of the people of the Niger Delta.

“The humiliation that came with the meeting of the elders with President Muhammadu Buhari did not come to the NDGJM as a surprise. We expected it because we know even the government knows the character and intent of the man and most of those he led to the meeting.

“The only painful part is the fact that the humiliation is stamped on the collective image of our people. However, we want to dare President Buhari and his administration to attempt or fully carry out his military action against our people and see the response that will follow.

“We want to say here, without mincing words, that we are aware of his intentions. We heard loud and clear his hostile message, we understand his message and the NDGJM is saying we are ready for him. We know he has reportedly threatened war on our people; we had been calm enough not to respond to the threats, but at this point, we believe it is time for us to come out to say to him ‘enough is enough.’

“If it is war, bring it on, we are no cowards, just be sure you can sustain the consequences because this is not going to be another vanquished ‘Biafran Uprising’. Niger Deltans are nobody’s slaves; we shall fight until there’s nothing left to defend.”

Similarly, leaders of the Niger Delta Peoples Democratic Front, Ultimate Warriors of Niger Delta, and other major players in the Niger Delta Avengers, who spoke with SUNDAY PUNCH on Saturday, said they were not a party to the 16-point demand presented by their leaders to Buhari.

The leader of the NDPDF, simply identified as General Playboy, faulted the stakeholders meeting with Buhari, describing it as a platform for them (leaders) to expose their selfish interests.

He expressed surprise that the 16-point agenda submitted by the Niger Delta stakeholders to the Federal Government did not address the issues of Tompolo who was declared wanted by the FG.

He said, “The stakeholders are talking about negotiation. They are talking about $10bn for Niger Delta people; they (stakeholders) are thinking about oil blocs that will be released to Niger Delta people and how they will share it among themselves. That is the only thing they are thinking of.

“They have refused to talk about the fact that there is a matter against Tompolo that should be dropped. None of the stakeholders is thinking about others; they are only thinking of themselves. But it will not work as far as I am concerned except President Buhari comes down here to know the problem of the Niger Delta. That is when Nigeria will have peace. If not, there will be no peace. We are not interested in what the stakeholders went to do in Abuja.’’

The militant leader stated that a situation where ex-agitators like Mujaheed Asari-Dokubo, Boyloaf and Soboma Jackrich (Egberipapa) were not part of the stakeholders’ meeting, was an indication that government was not ready for peace.

“Any meeting geared towards peace without protecting Tompolo’s interest will fail. Tompolo himself cannot come out to negotiate his freedom. As far as we are concerned, Tompolo’s case needs a political resolution, just like that of Henry Okah and Charles Okah.

“These are forces in the region that should not be undermined. We want the Federal Government as part of the dialogue process to get a legal framework to free Okah and let Tompolo have peace otherwise peace will continue to elude the region, and oil pipelines will be blown off continuously to protest their persecution.”

Apart from persons from the region who were facing prosecution, he also demanded the release of the Indigenous People of Biafra’s leader, Namdi Kanu.

Similarly, a member of the Niger Delta Avengers who spoke on condition of anonymity told SUNDAY PUNCH that peace would continue to evade the oil-rich Niger Delta until the government stops the persecution of Tompolo and other leaders of the region.

He said, “All the politically motivated cases against Tompolo, Godsday Orubebe, Kingsley Kuku, Dr. Patrick Akpobolokemi, and Mrs. Patience Jonathan, should be dropped by the Federal Government, otherwise, agitation continues.”

Also, the spokesperson for the Ultimate Warriors of Niger Delta, Sibiri Taiowoh, vowed that his group would open a new chapter to the struggle.

He said, “We will return to the drawing board. And we know the Federal Government will fail (to meet the demands) because they are not sincere. We have lost faith in Buhari, so whether he will grant all the requests or not is irrelevant to us.’’

NDA warns Buhari against dealing with sycophants

The Niger Delta Avengers, in a statement on Saturday, warned President Buhari against dealing with “sycophants in his cabinet” if he really wants to achieve peace in the region.

The NDA Spokesperson, Brig.Gen Mudoch Agbinibo, in a statement made available to SUNDAY PUNCH, also challenged Buhari to visit the region instead of relying on information from his ministers and political friends from the region.

The group said, “You cannot treat the Niger Delta with disdain while you treat your brothers that are terrorists and kidnappers (Boko Haram) like kings and queens by committing the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement from Geneva to witness your transactions with them, before they released their hostages to you.”

“Let Muhammadu Buhari be advised to come down from his ethnic and religious fundamentalist iron horse to lead the Federal Government dialogue and negotiations team with neutral international observers and representatives of international oil companies.”

Meanwhile, the President of the Ijaw National Congress, Chief Boma Obuoforibo, has said Niger Delta stakeholders will not give the Federal Government an ultimatum or a timeframe to implement their demand for the development of the region.

Obuoforibo, who spoke in a telephone interview with SUNDAY PUNCH on Friday, said the stakeholders were optimistic that the President would not renege on his promise to alleviate the sufferings of Niger Delta people.

He said, “We are not going to be negative about the ability of the Federal Government to implement the demands because we have a positive mindset and we have never reached this length in the past. We are doing all this in good faith.”

Meanwhile, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, told one of our correspondents on Saturday that the release of Tompolo was not part of the demands of the Niger Delta leaders.

Shehu said, “I was present when the Niger Delta Elders met the President. At no point did anyone mention this (Tompolo) or any other name by way of a demand for release.

My thought, Gov. Fayose you're not far from the truth. As a matter of fact they will keep releasing them in batch untill 2018 which will culminate into the general election. The aim will be to score a cheap political point
Politics › JUDGES ARREST: Northern Elder Statesmen Call For Nationwiwide REVOLT by KEVIND(op): 6:40am On Oct 10, 2016
Mixed reactions have been reported over the late
Alhaji Tanko Yakassai, an elder statesman and Dr. Junaid Mohammed, and a host of other Nigerians in separate reactions decried what is happening now in Nigeria describing it as evocative of events preceding the ascension to power of the Nazi party.
Yakassai called on Nigerians to rise up and resist what he called a gradual slide into fascism.
He said, “What is happening now in Nigeria is reminiscent of what took place in Germany after the accession to power of the Nazi party in the 30s. It is a repeat of the same scenario of what happened to Italy, Portugal and Greece under fascist regimes in those countries.
“A close look at the happening in Nigeria nowadays is frightening. It looks as if we are really sliding into fascism. We have to stop it before it becomes a monster that will consume everybody.
“It is an attempt by the government to cajole the judiciary and force it to do its own bidding, particularly if the conduct is viewed against the persistent complaint by the Presidency against the judiciary, which the President once called his main headache in the fight against corruption.”
Dr Junai Mohammed on his part said that the DSS has overstepped its authority because the laws of the land permit the DSS to adding that it was not out of place for judges, who were suspected of committing criminal offences, to be arrested.
He said, “However, I am uncomfortable with the DSS taking over the role of the EFCC when it comes to the anti-corruption fight. This is because the EFCC is, to a large extent, part of the police force. In fact, it is like the Special Branch of the police but the DSS is not.’’
Ajulo said as a legal practitioner, he believed in the rule of law, adding that getting rid of corrupt judges from the system must follow proper procedure.
He explained that no arm of government constantly reviewed itself like the judiciary.
Ajulo stated, “I support that corrupt judges should be investigated and dealt with accordingly but it should be done with decency without bringing the bench to disrepute or ridicule.’’

Politics › Jibrin Tells Reps: Return The N10m You Shared Monthly Or I Expose You by KEVIND(op): 9:22am On Sep 30, 2016
Abdulmumin Jibrin, former chairman house of representatives committee on appropriations, has issued one-week ultimatum to his colleagues who may have “illegally taken or stolen any money” to return it to the clerk of the national assembly or risk being exposed.

In a statement on Thursday, Jibrin said in the face of the country’s economic challenges, there was no better time to return such monies.

He said for the principal officers, he had given them a 72-hour ultimatum to make public the total amount of they received as running cost in their entire stay at the house.

“I wish to draw your attention to the fact that since you suspended me yesterday and the suggestion of the ethics committee report that my allegations were generalised and without proof, I have come under intense public scrutiny and pressure to prove that there exists systemic corruption in the house.

“I have taken it as a responsibility to prove to the public that the House is a den of systemic corruption. As colleagues, I have bound with many of you and built a life long friendship.

“I have some of you that I hold in high esteem. If you end up at the receiving end of the actions I will be taking up in the next few days, I want you to know there is nothing personal but commitment and fervent desire to ensure that corruption is wiped out of the house and reforms that will restore the battered image of the house and take back the house to the Nigerian people are implemented.

“Consequent upon the above and before I proceed with the aggressive steps I intend to take, I hereby demand that if you have illegally taken or stolen any money meant for the running cost of your offices for the entire stay in the house, you should return it within one week to the clerk of the national assembly and for the purpose of clarity, I am referring to about N10 million you collect from tax payers monies monthly.

“The clerk will provide you with official account details, failure to which I will take necessary action to ensure that you return any money stolen and stand witness against you in case of prosecution.

“I have written to the Clerk of the National Assembly to stand by in anticipation. In the face of the revenue challenges and biting hardship the country is currently facing, there is no better time the country needs such money than now.

“In the case of the Presiding and Principal Officers, in addition to my demand in this letter which applies to them too, I have written them yesterday and gave them 72 hours ultimatum to make public the total amount they have received as running cost in their entire stay in the House, failure of which I will proceed with necessary legal action to compel them to make the total amount each of them have received public.

“There are other issues of monumental corruption in the House that I will be raising in the following weeks which we must all deal with, but first lets get done with this one.”

Jibrin was suspended on Wednesday after the house approved recommendations of the ethics committee after probing his alleged breach of lawmakers privileges arising from the budget padding allegations he levelled against Yakubu Dogara, the speaker, and four other principal officers.

Politics › Re: Muhammadu Buhari: A.K.A The Blaming Blamer by KEVIND(op): 11:05pm On Sep 17, 2016
General Cassandra, the bi-dimensional failure of the past have today graduated into a FULL multi dimensional failure who has failed on all fronts.
He promised to grow the economy but ended up bastardizing it. Promised to bring back the ‘’scamous’’ (sic) missing Chibok girls but the #BBOG campaigners have today become irritants to him. He promised to CRUSH the Boko Haram in just few months but today celebrates a mere ‘’technical defeat’’ of the group like a first time Olympic Gold Medalist. However, considering the fact that he had said during his inaugural speech on May 29th, 2015 ‘’we cannot claim to have defeated Boko Haram without rescuing the Chibok girls and all other innocent persons’’ one can only conclude that his celebration is still out of tune with his promise and results so far.
He promised that fuel will sell for below N50 and claimed that fuel subsidy does not exist that it only exist in corruption but today we now know better. He promised to publicly declare his ASSETS within his first 100 days in office but even a mere summary of the ASSETS that he foot dragingly released was hailed as an "outstanding achievement" by this team of HAILING HAILERS.
He claimed to be fighting corruption but boldly pronounced ex-Military Head of State, Sani Abacha as CORRUPT FREE inspite of the billions that have been recovered from his many loots of which his government is a recipient of some. Why did he give Abacha clean bill? Because he served under Abacha’s government as the PTF chairman. And to know that he still holds same belief to date (since he is yet to officially or publicly the retract the claim) confirms that all it takes to be a SAINT in AHMB records is to be a relation, a friend, an aide or have him serve under you.
He oathed to obey the constitution and the laws of the land but till date disobeyed a competent Court of Law ordered release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the ex-National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki.
He today celebrates a ‘charade improvement in security' at a time that Fulani herdsmen are murdering innocent and law abiding citizens even in their homes at a rate never seen in the land before.
He promised to make the value of Naira to be at par with the USA dollar but we have today known that that is a mere pipe dream.
Such contradictions of his bounds and are in exhaustable.
Back to the "elements" discussed above, the ‘’any where belle face professionals’ - the CLAPPING CLAPPERs - and their likes. All that even a successful man needs to become a multi talented multi dimensional failure is to have these crops of entertainers as your supporters. They are gifted in the act of manufacturing ‘’reasons’’ to support anything.
They are simply what the Igbos calls the OSOCHI EGBUS. They will sing your praises, clap, hail, celebrate you to failure and join the spirits to kill you afterwards, and then turn around to join humans to mourn and attend your burial.
When their blaming blamer in-Chief promises to provide ‘’one meal a day for school children’’……You see the HAILING HAILERS hail happily, the SOUTHING SOUTHERS blowing trumpets to celebrate, the SAI BABAISTS jumping up and down in celebration and the CLAPPING CLAPPERS doing what they do best: Clapping nonstop for months until another reason to change direction is manufactured.
And then when the same chief blaming blamer reverses himself and cancels the feeding promise, same set of people will hail, shout, jump and clap in celebration of such a wonderful decision that will save the nation - Billions.
When Biafrans under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu demanded for self-determination, same people shouted ‘’treason’’ ‘’felony able treason’’. When AHMB stood before the UN to publicly announce that he supports the right of self-determination for the Islamic territories of Palestine and Western Sahara and that no group of people should be subjected to ‘’blockade’’. Same group of people hailed, clapped, danced and cedanced and celebrated.
When the Brits voted to exit EU (Brexit)and AHMB congratulated David Cameron for being a listening leader for listening to the wishes of his people and allowing them the opportunity of deciding where they wish to belong. Same set of people clapped for AHMB for advancing tenets of democracy and right to self-determination. But when you ask for same rights for those in their backyards - The Biafrans.
Same people will tag you an agent of dis unity, hate preacher, divisive figure and a terrorist. One thing is sure in all these motion and no movement of this government headed by the blaming blamer: The country is definitely going somewhere but unfortunately neither the blaming blamer nor his OSOCHI EGBU team knows WHERE IT IS HEADED.
AHMB will definitely end up as the MOST DEFENDED and the greatest failures of all times. His OSOCHI EGBU team that are hailling him for his continued illegal detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and refusal to accord Biafrans right to self-determination that he preached for others today will definitely manufacture "reasons" on why he should have honoured the contents of his preaching tomorrow. They will join Biafrans to mourn and attend his "BASKET KICK". .

‘’No man is a failure if only he can make a child happy’’---Failure Analysts
There are FAILURES and there are failures. There exist the single dimensional failures, the bi-dimensional failures and the multi talented multi dimensional failures. However, the difference includes that the traditional single and bi-dimensional failures fails and take responsibility for their failing whilst the multi dimensional failure fails and blame others especially his predecessors for his failing.
Secondly, while the formers seek help and surrounds selves with those who can render sincere help and tell them the truth that will change the situations, the latter surrounds himself with the OSOCHI EGBUS (the professional sycophants).
Failure analysts, who are the experts involved in the process of collecting and analyzing data on the workings of the organs of failures, often with the goal of determining corrective actions or liability, concluded that men are bound to fail at whatever they BLAME for up to 12 calendar months no matter the resources available at their disposal to reverse the situation.
Based on the context of our definition of a failure as stated in the quote above, not many failures are known to exist worldwide. However, only very few failures are believed to exist in this part of the world of which this writer have been able to identify ONE based on the conclusions of the works of the failure analysts.
The identified failure have the following characteristics.
A multi talented blaming blamer. A man of fake integrity, A man that lies to himself and lives in self-deceit. A man full of amazing contradictions and double talks. A man loaded with empty promises. A certificate less general. A man under whose 2 opportunity of ruling the country, kids can neither laugh nor smile, talk less of being happy. A man under whose reign ‘’joyfulness’’ has become an illusion for the masses.
The man is the current president of Nigeria popularly now known as the African Hitler Muhammadu Buhari (AHMB)
Under AHMB watch, governance has been reduced to a thing of ‘’body language, media trial, name calling and blame throwing’’
We now have and run a government headed by the BLAMING BLAMER in- Chief, surrounded by this team of HAILING HAILERS, assisted in governance by the SHOUTING SHOUTERS (also pronounced as the SOUTHING SOUTHERS, according to the intonation of certain people), and goaded to continue in his failed policies by the SAI BABAISTS & SAI BUHARISTS, and finally clapped for no matter the directions his policies takes by the ‘’any where belle face professionals’’ also known as the CLAPPING CLAPPERS, and then those who attempt to offer suggestions on the obviously wrong policies of the government are tagged the WAILING WAILERS.
Most of the youths of today born late 1970s and the early 1980s (of which this writer is one) were kids when AHMB known then as General Cassandra ruled as the Military Head of State of Nigeria between 31st December, 1983 and 27th August, 1985. What did we witness? We witnessed the frog jumping, caning, beating, kicking, head booting, dragging on tarred roads and most times, maiming of our parents and the other adults as they queued up to buy essential commodities like sugar, tea, milk, rice etc. They were accused of indiscipline by AHMB and his lieutenants and whipped into line. There were only 3 sets of people that were disciplined then: General Cassandra, his Khaki lieutenants and the regime's foot soldiers.
General Cassandra who kept blaming the democratically elected government of Alhaji Shehu Shagari that he over threw in a coup of mis-management and corruption ended up ‘’BLAMING’’ the economy of the country into "recession" in just few months of coming on board.
Just like kids of today, that was our first time of hearing the word ‘’recession’’. He accused his then predecessor of poor handling of the economy and promised a revamped handling. However, General Cassandra ‘’excellent management’’ of the economy was actually what led the country or do I say ‘’blamed’’ the economy into recession then.
Fortunately or unfortunately, the kids of General Cassandra first reign have now given birth to kids who like their parents have witnessed how AHMB's ‘’excellent management and rhetoric’’ have landed the country into another ‘’recession’’
The kids of today are even sadder than we were as they are today being used as ‘’deposit for essential items’’ which their parents have no means of paying for. Not forgetting the hundreds of them dying in droves in IDP camps daily from mal-nutrition and diseases as the government looks the other way.
How can happiness not elude them when even the ‘’one meal a day’’ promised them during the AHMB presidential election campaign have also been "blamed" away?

Politics › Opinion: The Butchers From The North By Fani Kayode by KEVIND(op): 7:50pm On Aug 28, 2016
The butchers from the north are better known as the Fulani militants and herdsmen. They have unleashed horror and levied war against the people of Nigeria over the last one year.

The saints are the Christians that they have slaughtered all over the country in that same period of time.
I consider every single saint that they have killed as a martyr because they died for their faith. I honor them with this essay and I dedicate it to their memory.

On 24th August 2016 Mr. Phil Smart wrote the following on Facebook:

“Catholic seminarian butchered, pregnant woman’s stomach cut open….as Fulani herdsmen continue killing in Enugu”.

The words were accompanied by a picture of a Catholic priest whose body had been shredded into pieces like fresh mincemeat or a Japanese sirloin steak.

There was another of a pregnant woman whose stomach had been slit open right down the middle and whose unborn foetus and guts were hanging out for all to see. Clearly she had been carefully and clinically gutted.

Many other bodies were strewn all over the burnt out fields and compounds of the village and some were so badly mutilated and chopped up that it would have been difficult to convince anyone that they once belonged to human beings. Not even babies were spared.

In truth this was not the work of men but rather of demon-possesed hybrid entities that the famous British conspiracy-theorist Mr. David Icke describes as “shape-shifting reptilians” and sociopathic beasts.

Worse still this was the second time in a matter of weeks that the relative tranquility of Enugu was desecrated by the prescence of these nomadic beasts and murdering bastards.
Endless bloodletting

On the previous occassion they caused as much havoc, slaughtered as many people and engendered as much consternation and outrage as the succeeding one.

Yet it doesn’t stop there. On the very same day that the latest attack in Enugu was going on other Nigerians were being attacked and “burnt alive” by people of the same radical Islamist bent and spirit in far away Zamfara for “blaspheming against Islam”.

Other similar attacks by the same fanatics and jihadists took place on that day in southern Kaduna, Benue, Niger, Ondo, Plateau, Delta and various other parts of the country.

If the truth be told this carnage and butchery has now become a daily occurence in our country and it is always the same people, namely the butchers from the north, that perpetrate them.

The worst aspect of it all is that no-one has ever been arrested, prosecuted or brought to justice by the govermment for these hideous crimes mainly because President Buhari himself is a Fulani and consequently the authorities seem to have cultivated a soft-spot for them.

Buhari patron of marauders

Indeed Buhari is actually the life Patron and “protector-in-chief” of the umbrella organisation of all the Fulani Herdsmen in Nigeria which is known as Miyetti Allah.

There is of course another view which is that the herdsmen are actually a tool of conquest who are being carefully cultivated, co-ordinated, controlled, organised, armed and funded by a sinister and dark hidden hand: that they are something akin to a Fulani “death squad” or armed militia.

Those that share that view, and yours truly is amongst them, often refer to the butchers from the north as Nigeria’s “supporter of APC”, after the ruthless camel-riding Arab Muslim militia which Sudanese President Al Bashir commissioned, armed and employed to decimate, slaughter and commit genocide against over one million defenceless black African Sudanese Christians in the vast region of Darfur for many years.

It is also why the U.S.-based Global Terror Index describes them as the “Fulani Militants” and has designated them as the “fourth most deadly terrorist organisation” in the world.

Whatever one chooses to call them, whoever is behind them and whatever their motives may be one thing is clear: their actions are outrageous and barbaric and such behaviour has no place in a civilised society.

I feel a deep sense of anger and outrage on the one hand and utter shame and frustration on the other about what is going on in our country today and what these butchers from the north are doing to our people.

Theirs is a scorthed earth policy and they take no prisoners. They rape, kill, abduct, kidnap and terrorise people and they rob, burn down, destroy and pillage their homes, churches and farmlands at will.

Worse still they commit these atrocities with total impunity and without any fear of the law enforcement agencies or security forces.

And all this is done in the name and under the guise of herding cows and looking for grazing land for their cattle.

I feel a deep sense of anger and outrage towards President Buhari and his government, because they seem to believe that the constant spilling and shedding of innocent Christian blood is something that brings them good fortune.

It also appears to give them immense pleasure and joy otherwise they would have put a stop to it long ago.

I feel shame and frustration because the Nigerian people themselves seem wholly incapable of standing up to that which is nothing less than pure evil.

They seem incapable of protesting against anything, no matter how bestial and barbaric that thing may be.

I wonder who has bewitched us? Is this the work of the “mai chanji” sweeping broom brew?
Have the Nigerian people been charmed? Are we under a spell? Are we like the biblical Galatians who the Apostle Paul says were “bewitched”?

Our people appear to be wholly incapable of resisting and facing down those that have enthroned sadism and wickedness in their hearts and that take pleasure in indulging in mass murder, genocide and ethnic cleansing in our land.

Politics › Stop Calling Criminals Avengers -Niger Delta Avengers by KEVIND(op): 6:00pm On Jul 20, 2016
Contrary to local news that Nigeria Navy has arrested Niger Delta Avengers logistics supplier is the biggest joker of the 21st century. As it now any Tom, Dick and Harry is a suspect of Niger Delta avengers. Nigeria Navy has lost the sense of professionalism.
The Nigeria military arrested school students in Oporoza and called them the Niger Delta Avengers, any criminal caught is NDA, ever their Business partners (Illegal Oil bunkers) with which things went south are NDA, Sea pirates are now NDA.
When Niger Delta Avengers carries out any major attack they (Nigeria Military) will deny it. First was the NNPC pipeline that was blown, second the 48-inches Exxonmobil pipeline that was blown by NDA. Mobil and the Government denied it. Only for Exxonmobil to declare false majeure few days after the attack. We want the general public to know the Qua Iboe export pipeline is down right now.
Let me give a little brief about the Qua Iboe Export terminal. This is a subsidiary of Mobile and it the biggest export stream in Nigeria. They export ONE MILLION barrel every two days.
I Brig. Gen Agbinibo personally led this operation. Unlike the Nigeria Chief of Naval Staff that sit in the comfort of his office to pass orders.

The Nigeria Military should stop deceiving the general public and their commander in Chief. They should come out with the truth in Akwa Ibom instead of saying Niger Delta Avengers didn’t blow up thr line but system anomaly. Shame on the Nigeria Military.
Reports from our intelligent agent, the only way funds can be allocated to various department of the Military is only when they (Nigeria Military) arrest the Niger Delta Avengers operatives. But soonest the Nigeria public and their commander in Chief will now the Military is not capable to handle the Niger Delta Avengers.
How do you explain a military officer having a house in choice areas in Nigeria and outside the country? Nigeria serving and retired top officers are the richest people in Nigeria. How do they get such wealth? Right now, they are using Niger Delta Avengers to fraud the Nigeria government and tax payers of their money.
We want to make this clear, all Niger Delta Avengers operatives are intact, our intelligent agencies are all intact and our operative team are in high spirit because we are winning the war. Nigeria Navy can’t arrest any of our operative until we bring down the economy of this country.
We are warning Nupeng and Pengassan to leave all oil field and terminals in the Niger delta because it will be going to be dirty very soon. Foreigners are to leave too.

Politics › Economy: We ‘re Just Managing, Says Buhari by KEVIND(op): 7:40pm On Jul 14, 2016
ABUJA – Following the current economic downturn largely orchestrated by the drastic drop of crude oil prices, President Mohammdu Buhari has said that Nigeria was just managing to survive. He also stated that the country was in a hurry to see projects take off in the agricultural sector to enhance food security and create jobs for teeming unemployed youths. Buhari made the disclosure on Thursday in Abuja while receiving Ambassador Nasser Bouritaqa who visited him as a Special Envoy of King Mohammed VI of Morocco. The president said that past leaders failed to save for the rainy, stressing that they took things for granted. “For us in Nigeria, it is like starting all over again. There was a time we had so much money and took things for granted. But with the fall in the international price of oil, we are now managing,” the President said. The President welcomed the plan by Morocco to establish a fertilizer plant in Nigeria, which would not only serve the country, but the entire West African sub-region. A statement by Mr. Femi Adesina, Buhari’s media adviser stated that the envoy, who was also a Minister Delegate for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, said his country had developed strategy to deal with religious extremism, and had largely been successful in fighting terrorism.

Politics › Halliburton:u.s Wants Aisha Buhari,atiku, Prosecuted…says Efcc Has All It Needs by KEVIND(op): 6:19pm On Jun 21, 2016
The United States has said the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has all it needs to prosecute all those implicated in the Halliburton scandal including Mrs. Aisha M. Buhari who allegedly wired $170,000.00 in bribe to disgraced Congressman Williams J. Jefferson in 2002.

A 16-count indictment, returned by a federal grand jury in Alexandria, Va., charged Jefferson with solicitation of bribes from Nigeria and other places, honest services wire fraud, money laundering, obstruction of justice, violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, racketeering, and conspiracy.

The indictment alleges that from in or about August 2000 through in or about August 2005, Jefferson, while serving as an elected member of the U.S. House of Representatives, used his position and his office to corruptly seek, solicit and direct that things of value be paid to Jefferson and his family members in exchange for his performance of official acts to advance the interests of people and businesses who offered him the bribes.

The U.S Justice Department had at the time requested the EFCC through a letter with Ref: MEW:DPW:KDL:AV 1 File 182.23818 dated June 22, 2006 to investigate Mrs. Aisha M. Buhari and several others linked with bribing Congressman Jefferson.

Mrs. Buhari, Atiku Abubakar, Dumebi Kachikwu, Otunba Fashawe, Aliyu Maigari and others were named in a long chain of Nigerian and American bribe takers that spirited about $45 million—for a technology transfer deal—to the US between 1996 and 2002.

Atiku, chairing of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund, PTDF, then, was, alongside US Congressman Williams J. Jefferson, Siemens, Halliburton, and others, indicted in a U.S. Senate report sent to the EFCC for investigation in 2006.

Peter Carr, Spokesman of the DOJ confirmed the Sentencing memo of Jefferson which indicted Aisha M. Buhari, Abubakar Atiku and others but declined to speak further on the issue in an email to Pointblanknews.com.

“Thank you for reaching out to us. We’ll decline to comment beyond what is referenced in the sentencing memorandum,” Carr said in an email to Pointblanknews.com.

A source in DOJ told pointblanknews.com that because Jefferson is currently appealing some of his convictions, DOJ may not want to comment further on the matter.

The Sentencing Memorandum obtained by Pointblanknews.com from the U.S District Court Eastern District of Virginia listed as exhibit, a wire transfer to Congressman Jefferson from an account owned by Aisha M. Buhari.

“…See also Government Exhibits 36-87 (6/26/02 $170,000 wire

transfer from account in Nigeria in the name of Aisha Buhari to an account in the name of The ANJ Group, LLC, identifying “William Jefferson” as Beneficiary), Government Exhibits 36-90

and 36-91 (11/28/03 $50,000 wire transfer from account in British Virgin Islands in the name of Dawson Creek Traders to an account in the name of Jefferson Interests, Inc.),” the 37page sentencing memo said on its page 22.

Curiously, since President Mohammadu Buhari was elected President, the first lady has never followed him to his numerous U.S trips. At the United Nations General Assembly in 2015, she rather sent the wife of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, to represent her at the First Lady’s Conference of UNGA.

Sources told pointblanknews.com that even though Jefferson is currently serving Jail time, those linked to his crime are still being sort after for questioning.

The source confirmed that while Mr. Kachikwu offered to testify against Jefferson, Mrs. Buhari was nowhere to be found during the FBI probe of the matter, reason why she has stayed away from the U.S.

The U.S Senate report, FBI reports and U.S Court papers on the allegations have remained in the coolers of the EFCC as the agency appears to be lacking the political will to carrying on the prosecution.

U.S Investigators had in 2006 asked the EFCC to investigate Bank records of accounts held by Hajiya Aisha M. Buhari from January, 2001, to present, including, but not limited to, accounts at Citizen International Bank, Plot 130, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. The bank records should include documents relating to any wire transfers of $10,000 or more.

Although the Presidency through a text message to Pointblanknews.com by Mallam Garba Shehu said the Aisha M. Buhari is not the same as the President’s wife. U.S investigators said investigations by EFCC would identify the real Aisha M. Buhari named in the documents.

Shehu had also threatened to sue Pointblanknews.com should it publish the reports linking the first lady to the Halliburton/iGate scandal.

The FBI had also asked the EFCC to investigate:

The EFCC never carried out the investigation and never indicated in their reports that Mrs. Buhari was ever questioned on the allegations. Former Vice President Atiku responded to the EFCC but was never prosecuted as the report was never considered.

Sources told pointblanknews.com that the EFCC since inception have lacked the political will to prosecute certain high profile persons.

A U.S Justice Department source expressed concern over the EFCC’s inability to go ahead and prosecute those linked to the Halliburton/iGate scandal despite receiving all the assistance they had requested for.

“It is a concern for us that after doing all the work, they still can’t go ahead and finish up the part of prosecuting the people, it says a lot” an official of the DOJ told Pointblanknews.com.

The Niger Delta Avengers militant group has rejected calls from former militants to join talks with the government.

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) on Sunday urged the Avengers to negotiate and halt attacks that have cut Nigeria’s crude output to a 20-year low.

However, the group said that MEND is phased out and that the group had been defunct since participating in the amnesty scheme.

They described call for dialogue by MEND as just some political jargon concocted to confuse the general public.

The Avengers had said that they would not cooperate with government when the idea of negotiations was first mooted last week.

The militant group has claimed responsibility for most of the recent attacks on oil and gas facilities in the Niger Delta region.

Politics › PRESS STATEMENT From Niger Delta Avengers Monday, June 13, 2016 by KEVIND(op): 5:20pm On Jun 13, 2016
The high command of the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) is using this medium to restate that there are no new items to put on the table for dialogue, we only want a genuine attitude and conducive atmosphere that will make us commit to any proposed dialogue and last peace talk. We want the federal government to commit members states of the multi national Oil Corporations to commit independent mediators to this proposed dialogue; we believed that it is only such environment that will engender genuine dialogue that will be aimed at setting up a framework for achieving the short, medium and long term demands of the Niger delta to de-escalating this conflict and bring about a lasting peace.

The NDA high command is restating our commitment to attack the interest of oil corporation and international refineries operators that bring in vessels to the Niger delta territory to buy our oil that every successive government have refused to used and reapply the proceeds towards any development in the region since 1958. If they refuse be heed to our advice will result to sinking of two their mother vessel as an examples to others They should not undertake any repair of pipeline, oil and gas facilities that is damaged or attacked by our forces during this period of “Operation Red Economy” until and/or after the dialogue.

We are using medium to warn and condemn the activities of all brands of social media agitators being peddled around by some politicians to promote their criminal ways in affairs of the Niger Delta. This genuine spirit behind our struggle for the Niger Delta cannot be derailed on the basis of connivance by politician, traditional rulers, settled ex- agitators and criminals moving around to fill their pockets.

The issues of the Niger delta are as old and as new as the days of Pa. Dappa Biriye, Major Jasper Isaac Adaka Boro, to Ken Saro Wiwa and the government of President Musa Yar’ Adua. We are warning this government of President muhammadu Buhari, not to turn the essence of genuine peace talk and dialogue to political jamboree that is prevailing now where all manner of social media agitators and criminals have being sponsored by the job seeking corrupt political class to safe faces before the government of the day.

Finally, if need be we may review our earlier stance of not taking lives. We are going to redirect and reactivate all our activities if the government, oil companies and their services firms don’t heed to these modest warnings of not carrying out any repairs works and suspend the buying of crude oil from our region as we await the right atmosphere that will engender genuine dialogue “ We Want a peace with Honour not a Peace of our time”

Addressing the Ohanaeze Youth Council’s (OYC’s) submit, held in Owerri, the Imo State capital, the President of Ijaw Youth Council, Comrade Udengs Eradiri, said the Niger Delta erred for not supporting the Biafra’s course during the war from 1967-1970, and heaped the blame on lack of awareness and misinformation.
He said, “If we had the type of awareness and information technology we have today, then, we would have stood firmly with Biafra to win the war, but we are working hard to resolve the issue now,” he stated. Comrade Eradiri expressed happiness that not-with-standing their role in the civil war, “Ndigbo voted overwhelmingly for their son, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, in 2011 and since then the zone has been supporting his administration.”
He pointed out that Ijaw youths were pleased with their show of love and solidarity, and pledged that Niger Delta youths will support the current Biafra course.
He lamented that the issue of injustice that led to the civil war “is still the same issue bedeviling the country today,” and asked for concerted efforts to address the issues, noting that Nigeria must break up, We are Biafrans.
Education › Buried Alive – A University Lecturer’s Search For Deliverance by KEVIND(op): 5:07pm On Apr 11, 2016
As a child, Dr Azuh Mary Ifeoma’s father, a pastor, burned down a shrine in their community in an attempt to remove the evil spiritual being from their midst. When going for meetings, the pastor and community would first go to the shrine to sing and dance in front of it, as a way of mocking the evil spirit. It was during those dances that the evil spirit possessed the young Dr Azuh and began tormenting her life. At night, she began seeing an image in human form come to her, telling her that she was the owner of the shrine her father had burnt. After the dreams began, she began to experience terrible attacks.
Dr Azuh grew up and became a university lecturer but each time she was in a crowd of people or lecturing, she would hear the sound of drums and the evil spirit would appear in the form of a woman, commanding her to dance. She would then abandon all she was doing and begin to dance, in front of students, faculty and everyone around. After dancing, she would then collapse and be rushed to a hospital.
Facing terrible shame and in serious need of deliverance, Dr Azuh's pastor gave her a written note to a large Pentecostal church in Abuja for deliverance. After sowing a ‘seed of faith’, she was granted permission to see the pastor who prayed for her and told her the case was settled – however, the attacks continued. Notable pastors then gathered for a special service for her deliverance. During the service, their president entered and started shouting, “Who brought that car with T.B. Joshua’s sticker in my compound?” They pointed to Dr Azuh who had received the sticker and placed it there only two days earlier. The woman proclaimed, “The spirit of T.B. Joshua has possessed you” and told her to kneel down and confess everything she had to do with The SCOAN, stating that anyone in their organization who accommodates people who go to The SCOAN should be sanctioned. Removing the sticker from Dr Azuh’s car, the woman poured kerosene on it and tried to burn it. Surprisingly, the sticker refused to catch fire.
After the prayers, Dr Azuh went home, disappointed to find that the torture was worse that night. The following day, she was given a note to go to a church in Auchi where she was told to bring N30,000 to buy flowers for the altar before she could see the man of God. He told her that before his mentor, a very popular pastor in Nigeria had died, he told him not to have anything to do with T.B. Joshua. He said he wanted to know why she had gone to The SCOAN before he would pray for her. She told the pastor that she had not gone there, so he prayed for her and told her the problem was solved. She later slept in their hostel but the evil spirit tried to strangle her in the dream that very night. Hearing her screams of torment, a woman who worked with the church came to her and told her that she should go to The SCOAN, that she was just wasting her time there.
The next day she demanded to see the apostle and told him she was not delivered. He told her that he would take her to the prayer mountain of a top man of God in Lagos. The apostle and pastor prayed for her and said she should go in peace, that she was delivered. However, the problem continued to increase. When she returned to work, she was suspended.
She was then given a letter to see the CAN president. She borrowed money to go to his church where she saw him one on one and he gave her his number and items to wear for protection. The man asked her why she had anything to do with T.B. Joshua and told her that unless he becomes a member of the Pentecostal organization, he is not recognized. During the service, a pastor came from Jerusalem with what he called the ‘blood of Jesus’ and said it was for sale. The pastor’s wife stood up and bought the blood from the pastor for one million naira. The owner of the church then told Dr Azuh to come out for deliverance. They poured the blood on her and gave her the blood to drink. After returning home from the service, she received a sack letter from her work. She called the pastor and complained. He told her that when God wanted to bless her, some doors would be closed.
She lost hope that there were genuine men of God. Her husband told her to try a young man in Warri who always talks of T.B. Joshua. She had to pay for everything there, even the gown to enter the mountain. She went home after the deliverance service but had not received deliverance and was in severe debt from the money she had borrowed. One of her students even advised her to go to South Africa to see a young ‘prophet’ there. She was sponsored there but was not delivered.
Back in Nigeria, she was called to present a speech. When she stood up, she heard a huge sound, as if an airplane was about to land. She involuntarily began to dance and then found herself on the ground.
Her son told her later that if she doesn’t go to The SCOAN, he will not stay with her any longer. He said the disgrace was too much. She refused and decided not to enter a church again but to go to traditional doctors. A native doctor told her to bring 250,000 naira for her deliverance. She went for a midnight walk in a burial ground and laid down on the grave of someone who was her age. He called the evil spirit up and began shooting in order to kill the evil spirit. She was later rescued by vigilante.
Heeding the plea of her son, she decided to go see Prophet T.B. Joshua. That Sunday, when the prophet came out, she said to herself, ”This is the day I will confirm if he is a real man of God”. When he was coming towards her, she saw a pillar of fire. The next thing she knew, she had been delivered. She slept that night peacefully and the next day, decided to go to the market to confirm the evil spirit had left her. Before, when she entered the market, she would see the evil spirit moving around the market with her, commanding her to dance and disgracing her publicly. For that reason, she had stopped going to the market for years and her husband would go in her place. This time, she moved around the market, spending several hours and did not, at one time, see the evil spirit again. She had indeed been delivered!
During the course of her testimony, a man suddenly rushed out from the church and embraced her, crying hysterically. He exclaimed that she was his dead sister they had buried years ago. She had been the axis around which the family spun. He had last seen her in 1999 when she was lecturing. They then began to hear stories that she was mad. Suddenly, they were told that she had absconded from the university she was teaching in and they could not find her. After several years of searching for her, they came to agreement that she was dead and performed a traditional burial for her. That same year, her mother died from grief, followed four years later by her father. On his deathbed, the father told his son to exhume the grave of his daughter, that Prophet Elijah would bring her back to life. This was the resurrection they had been waiting for!
Dr Azuh’s advice was, “To be a prophet is not something you imitate. If you are not a prophet, you can never be a prophet!”
Politics › US, UK Govts Know Whereabouts Of Kidnapped Chibok Girls by KEVIND(op): 4:26pm On Mar 20, 2016
US and UK surveillance discovered whereabouts of
kidnapped schoolgirls Spotted around 80 of the
276 Nigerian girls seized by Boko Haram in 2014
Didn't do anything about it as rescue attempt was
considered too 'high risk' Videos have emerged
showing the girls are being brutally raped
regularly.
The US and British governments knew where at
least 80 of the Nigerian girls kidnapped by Boko
Haram were but failed to launch a rescue mission,
it has been revealed.
Terrorists stormed a secondary boarding school in
the remote town of Chibok in Borno state, northern
Nigeria in April 2014, and seized 276 girls who
were preparing for end-of-year exams.
Although 57 of the girls managed to escape the
rest have remained missing and have not been
heard from or seen since apart from in May that
year, when 130 of them appeared in a Boko Haram
video wearing hijabs and reciting the Koran.
Dr Andrew Pocock, the former British high
commissioner to Nigeria, has now revealed that a
large group of the missing girls were spotted by
British and American surveillance officials shortly
after their disappearance, but experts felt nothing
could be done.
He told The Sunday Times that Western
governments felt 'powerless' to help as any rescue
attempt would have been too high risk - with Boko
Haram terrorists using the girls as human shields.
Dr Pocock said: 'A couple of months after the
kidnapping, fly-bys and an American eye in the sky
spotted a group of up to 80 girls in a particular
spot in the Sambisa forest, around a very large
tree, called locally the Tree of Life, along with
evidence of vehicular movement and a large
encampment.'
He said the girls were there for at least four weeks
but authorities were 'powerless' to intervene - and
the Nigerian government did not ask for help
anyway.
He said: 'A land-based attack would have been
seen coming miles away and the girls killed, an
air-based rescue, such as flying in helicopters or
Hercules, would have required large numbers and
meant a significant risk to the rescuers and even
more so to the girls.'
He added: 'You might have rescued a few but
many would have been killed. My personal fear
was always about the girls not in that encampment
— 80 were there, but 250 were taken, so the bulk
were not there. What would have happened to
them? You were damned if you do and damned if
you don't.'
In an investigation by Christina Lamb for the
Sunday Times Magazine, Dr Pocock said the
information was passed to the Nigerians but they
made no request for help.
The Magazine has also seen brutal rape videos
which show schoolgirls are being used as sex
slaves by the terrorists.
Ms Lamb reports: 'They film schoolgirls being
raped over and over again until their scream
become silent Os.'
Some of the girls who managed to escape told Ms
Lamb they were kept in 'women's prisons' where
they were taught about Islam. Boko Haram fighters
would visit and pick their wives.
The girls were powerless to resist as even then the
men would be heavily armed. They were shown
videos of people being raped, tortured and killed as
a threat of what would happen to them if they tried
to run away.
Dr Stephen Davis, a former canon at Coventy
Cathedral who has spent several years attempting
to negotiate with the terror group said Boko Haram
'make Isis look like playtime' and said it is 'beyond
belief' that the authorities both in Nigeria and the
West do not know where the schoolgirls are.
He insists the locations of the camps where the
girls are being kept are well known and can even
be seen on Google maps. He added: 'How many
girls have to be raped and abducted before the
West will do anything?'
Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau previously
claimed that all the girls, some of whom were
Christian, had converted to Islam and been
'married off'.
The mass abduction brought the brutality of the
Islamist insurgency to worldwide attention and
prompted the viral social media campaign
#BringBackOurGirls.
Boko Haram violence has left at least 17,000 dead
and forced more than 2.6 million from their homes
since 2009. The Global Terrorism Index ranks the
group as the word's deadliest terror organisation.
The group, now officially allied to the Islamic State
fighters who control much of Iraq and Syria, has
responded with suicide bombings and hit and run
attacks against civilians.
In recent months the insurgents have turned away
from direct confrontation with the military in favour
of suicide attacks, increasingly carried out by
women and girls - raising fears that they are
kidnap victims,
Just last week two female suicide bombers killed
at least 24 worshippers and wounded 18 in an
attack during dawn prayers Wednesday on a
mosque on the outskirts of the northeast Nigerian
city of Maiduguri, officials said from the birthplace
of Boko Haram.
One bomber blew up inside the mosque and the
second waited outside to detonate as survivors
tried to escape, said coordinator Abba Aji of the
civilian self-defense Vigilante Group.
The mosque is on the outskirts of Maiduguri, the
city that is the military command center of the war
against Boko Haram.
Several suicide bombers have exploded recently at
roadblocks leading into the city, preventing
attackers from reaching crowded areas.

Politics › Governance By Trial And Error by KEVIND(op): 1:31pm On Mar 01, 2016
I composed this poem in early August 2015 but
I find that the observations made in the first and
second stanzas are still spot on. The
prescriptions in the third and final stanzas are
still imperative, therefore.
–
Governance by trial and error
–
When a government is run without a road map
When the rulers seem to be learning the ropes
When issues are more complex than they
deemed
And they can’t say how they’ll meet our hopes
What you have is governance by trial and error
–
When policy pronouncements are made on a
whim
And constant reversals follow to clear the air
When campaign promises are qualified or
disowned
And ad hoc arrangements become the order of
the day
Then it’s a bad case of governance by trial and
error
–
But we should not fold our hands in despair
Or gloat and hoot that the government will fail
Nor should we offer blind allegiance
Pretending that all is groovy and swell
Or we’ll be hurt by governance by trial and
error
–
We should rather supplicate for the people in
power
To assemble the best team and a great plan
devise
We should offer our ideas; keep them on their
toes
And as needed, commend, criticize or chastise
So we may be saved from governance by trial
and error

Politics › Buhari Says 24 Million Disabled Nigerians Supported His Election Bid: What! by KEVIND(op): 9:02am On Feb 25, 2016
Nigeria's Presidency through its publicity office
stated yesterday that the newly appointed SSA
disabilities, Dr. Samuel Inalegwu Ode Ankeli
"mobilized 24 million disabled Nigerians to
support Buhari's candidacy." What!
Nigeria's media eagerly published the ridiculous
statement. What were they trying to say? Nigeria
has under 23 million in total living with
disabilities. Did all 23 million support Buhari?
Are they under a Dr. Sam Ankeli organisation or
government in some way that he got all of them
to support Buhari?
Was the statement trying to suggest that all 15
million Nigerians who voted for Buhari are
disabled? In what way did the new SSA mobilize
24 million Nigerians with disabilities to support
Buhari's candidacy?
Was this part of the resume submitted by Dr.
Sam or was this cooked up by the presidential
media team?
The questions are too many, but the implications
of this highly erratic message propagated
wholesomely by Nigeria's media is troubling.
Nigeria's media publishes tales from the
Presidency with all junk and error included
without scrutiny, and the presidency once again
with one more trashy release, continues to lack
due diligence.
Hopefully with the new introduction of Tolu
Ogunlesi and Mr. Bashir Ahmad, things will
change, because the current situation is simply
depressing for a great nation with brilliant minds
as ours.

Christianity Etc › 'stop Forcing Members To Give Tithes' - T.B. Joshua by KEVIND(op): 1:41pm On Feb 24, 2016
The popular televangelist was reported to have preached against those who gather wealth through bribery and corruption, warning of the severe repercussions Founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Temitope Balogun Joshua, has warned pastors against forcing people to give offerings in the church. In an impromptu sermon, Joshua told his congregation: “It’s scriptural to ask for offering and tithes but it has to come from the heart.” “Anything that does not come from your heart becomes a curse to the person you give… We ministers of God should allow the congregation to bless us, not curse us with their possessions.” The popular televangelist was reported to have preached against those who gather wealth through bribery and corruption, warning of the severe repercussions. “If you collect a bribe, you can’t get anywhere with it. You may be rich now but at the end of your life, you will cry,” he admonished in a message televised live on Christian television station Emmanuel TV. “Let me suffer now and laugh tomorrow. Let me be poor now and blessed tomorrow. That should be the life we live,” he added. “If somebody becomes so rich, if what he is having that made him to be rich is not from people’s hearts - it’s by corruption or bribery - you will cry for the person someday.” “If people that are collecting bribes know all of this, they will stop collecting bribes,” he continued. “The repercussions are not midway. They come at the end when we have no strength again to do the right thing. The money, mansions and possessions will collapse… The beginner is not the owner but the finisher. Whatever you do – remember where you are going.” Prophet Joshua also spoke against the actions of politicians , who try to force love citizens, especially during elections. “You can’t force someone to love you. In elections, you see political parties campaigning, saying they will build mansions, bring constant electricity and water… Love should be given voluntarily – without being forced.” He also criticised pastors whose sermons are always centered on money and would fight members who stop paying tithes or attend services. “I did not know when you came here, so when you are going, it is unnecessary for me to know. You want to fight a member because he left your church. Whose church? God’s church. Christianity is a thing of the heart,” he said. “ If you give something from your heart, it will bless you that gives it and also bless the person you give. But if you give something that is not from your heart, you that gave has nothing to gain and you are giving a curse to that person,” he reiterated. He then challenged the congregation to cross examine their lifestyles. “Count how many curses you have received to build your mansions, have your possessions and enjoy your fame and popularity,” he told them. The cleric revealed this is the reason behind his extensive philanthropic endeavours and non- emphasis on money during his sermons. “Why would I not give freely when I know if you give something from your heart, you will receive a double portion of it? That is the secret of giving.” He advised the faithful to help the less privileged in their own area in order to enjoy the blessings of God. “Sell those properties and possessions you don’t use, open a charity account, put that money there, sit down and begin to bless the needy. See what God will do for you. The finger of God will stand to fight for you,” he advised. Prophet Joshua told his members: "God is giving you another chance, don’t abuse it." "If you know that you are given another chance, you must treasure it. We treasure things when we know we are undeserving but today, we live as if we deserve things.” “If you know you are undeserving of the life you are living now, whatever you attempt to do, after you finish doing it, you should wait and let God mark it. He may say it’s wrong; He may say it’s right. If God says it’s wrong, we shouldn’t lament because you live a life of grace.” “You have been allowing challenges to destroy you instead of you to destroy challenges. When challenges come – my God has the final say, not my ability or knowledge.”
Business › Oil Prices Fall After Saudi Output Pledge. by KEVIND(op): 1:21pm On Feb 24, 2016
World oil prices appear on course to be lower
for the longer term after Saudi Arabia ruled out
production cuts and suggested high-cost
producers should be allowed to fail to help
rebalance the market.
The comments - made by the country's oil
minister Ali al Naimi at an event in Texas -
were seen as being directed at the producers of
US shale oil who have challenged the Saudi-led
OPEC cartel's share of the global market.
The boom in US production coincided with the
slowdown in the Chinese economy to force
down prices from highs of $115 a barrel for
Brent crude in the summer of 2014 - trading
above $32 today but as low as $26.
The result has been a record glut with no sign
of stockpiles easing because of weak demand
and the fact many nations are pumping more oil
than ever to raise as much money as possible.
A barrel of US crude is currently around $30 -
a price at which many shale operators are
assumed to be losing money.
Mr al Naimi said: "The producers of these high-
cost barrels must find a way to lower their
costs, borrow cash or liquidate.
"It sounds harsh, and unfortunately it is, but it
is the more efficient way to rebalance markets.
He denied any suggestion of a war with shale
producers but prices plunged again in the wake
of his comments, with US crude falling 5% while
Saudi-produced Brent also fell back.
Just a day earlier, oil prices surged after the
International Energy Agency predicted that oil
supply and demand would balance next year
because of a steep drop in new drilling,
especially in the US.
OPEC members Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and
Qatar have floated the idea of freezing
production at current levels - with Russia
saying it would join in if other major producers
follow suit though nations like Iran and Iraq are
wanting to pump more oil.
Iran has only just escaped the grip of
international sanctions while Iraq is trying to
raise money to fight its war with so-called
Islamic State.
Dominick Chirichella, an analyst with the Energy
Management Institute, said: "If a freeze even
gets done it really does not accelerate the
rebalancing of the global market, especially with
Iran not participating.
He predicted that matching supply to demand
would take "well into 2017," he said

Career › 50,000 Abuja Workers Sacked In Two Months – ACCI by KEVIND(op): 7:19am On Feb 23, 2016
The scarcity of foreign exchange for importation of raw materials by local industries is adversely affecting the sector as over 50,000 workers have lost their jobs in Abuja in the last two months.

The President, Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Tony Ejinkeonye, confirmed the job losses in an exclusive interview with our correspondent in Abuja.

Similarly, the President, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Mr. Frank Jacobs, said that about 10 companies had formally notified the association about their intention to shut down operations before the end of this month.

Ejinkeonye said that except something urgent was done by the Federal Government to address the forex exchange problem, more people could lose their jobs.

“Currently, in Abuja, we have about 50,000 workers that have lost their jobs in the last two months. I must confess this is not a good time for the manufacturing sector,” he said.

He said majority of manufacturers operating in Abuja could no longer access foreign exchange to import raw materials, adding that those who managed to get forex from the black market could not sell their products as consumers could not pay the high prices.

He said, “As manufacturers and industrialists, the scarcity of foreign exchange has affected us in the area of raw materials that need to be imported. We cannot access foreign exchange anymore to import raw materials.

“Also, maintenance of some of these facilities has become a problem because the spare parts have to be imported and the inability to get foreign exchange to import them has impacted negatively on our operations.

“Some of our members who are manufacturers have even gone to the extreme of withdrawing their goods from the market and need to increase their prices to reflect the high foreign exchange rate. Many of us are having the problem of retaining our workers because the production is being hampered by lack of raw materials.”

The ACCI president said the situation had become so bad that even big manufacturing companies such as Unilever Nigeria Plc, Dangote Cement, Air France and Emirate Airlines were having problem getting foreign exchange.

He stressed the need for the Federal Government to come up with a comprehensive approach that would address the problem.

He said, “There is a need for government to do something urgently and stop living in denial. The Central Bank of Nigeria and the Ministry of Finance should come out and say something that would move us out of this forex crisis.

“Things are really bad. As I’m talking to you now, Unilever, Dangote Cement and our other members are crying. A lot of companies have also threatened to lay off workers. If something urgent is not done within the next 30 days by the government to address this, you will see companies like Dangote and Unilever Nigeria sacking some of their workers.”

Ejinkeonye added, “Airlines like Air France and Emirates are really having very serious problems now in taking back their foreign earnings.”

The MAN president said about 10 companies had indicated its plan to close shop before the end of the month.

He said with each of these companies employing an average of 200 people, a total of 2,000 workers would be affected if they decided to shut down their operations.

He said, “A number of our companies have formally written to us that they are going to close shop. Currently, we have about 10 companies that have written us informing us that they are running out of raw materials and that by the end of this month, they may close down.

“We do know that it is going to be more towards the end of the first quarter because many of them that have raw materials that can’t replenish them are likely to shut down.”

Jacobs called on the government to revisit the ban on 41 items from accessing the forex from the official window, especially items considered essential raw materials for manufacturing.

He said, “Many companies that have applied for foreign exchange for even those items that are not on the 41 ban list are finding it difficult to access foreign exchange from the central bank. So, we are calling on the CBN to make foreign exchange available for essential raw materials.”

The present economic problem was caused by pdp and the oil price falls. Anybody can come out to tell me where apc has contributed to the problem. If pdp did not steak all reserves with can, we would have used it to stabilise the economy at this downturn period. To revive downturn, every one is required to have some savings but no to pdp. People are only shouting due to sentiments.
When NOI told Nigérians for thé need to save for the raining day. Amaechi and his follow governors fought her and said no.'The excess crude account should be shared.'

Politics › BUDGET SCANDAL: How 2016 Budget Was Swapped by KEVIND(op): 11:35am On Jan 17, 2016
An apparent desperation by the executive to cover up the bogus allocations earmarked for the Presidency in the 2016 national budget led to the withdrawal of the original budget, supplanting it with another version without the knowledge of the legislature.

Contrary to the earlier speculations that the Presidency ordered the withdrawal of the budget proposal to enable it adjust some of the figures in view of the rapid slide in the price of crude oil, it has now been established that the main reason for the secret withdrawal was to remove some of the provisions made in the budget of the State House.

Trouble started when the lawmakers resumed duties after the holidays and were gearing up to commence debate on the budget only to find out that the there were two different versions of the document. Sunday Telegraph learnt that the withdrawal, which was allegedly masterminded by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate) Senator Ita Enang, was done in such a manner that those from whom the original budget was ‘stolen’ did not realise it until it was too late.

The 2016 Appropriation Bill, which was presented before the joint session of the National Assembly last December, was greeted with a loud applause but little did anyone know that the document would trigger some unpleasant incidents sooner than later.

As demanded by the Nigerian Constitution and parliamentary tradition, President Muhammadu Buhari delivered a beautifully- worded speech which gave a background to the economic scenario under which the budget was prepared and captured a summary of the basic parameters and indices of the budget.

Thereafter, Buhari laid on the table, a box believed to contain the details of the money bill. He then took a bow as a mark of respect for the parliament as well as a signal that the Executive had done its beat and the Legislature was at liberty to take over the budgeting process. Sunday Telegraph gathered that whereas the box laid on the table was allegedly symbolic and therefore empty, the few copies of the budget brought by the executive were shared and kept in the custody of the Committees on Appropriation in both the Senate and House of Representatives.

An insider source said that since the parliamentarians proceeded on their Christmas and New Year holidays a day after the budget was presented, no work was done on the budget. However, while the recess lasted, the Presidency was rattled by media reports on the budget showcasing the humongous amount of money allocated to the State House for various items including food and exotic cars.

Sunday Telegraph learnt that President Muhammadu Buhari felt emotionally shattered after his first media chat, where he was asked to justify his change mantra and commitment to prudence in government if he had budgeted so much for his own comfort. It was gathered that Enang, allegedly acting on ‘instruction’, moved into the parliament and retrieved the document with relative ease.

He was said to had approached the Clerk of the Senate Committee on Appropriation (names withheld) and requested to see the copies of the budget to enable him crosscheck some items. A source told Sunday Telegraph that when Enang got the documents, he allegedly proceeded with them to his office where he removed some of the pages and replaced them with some new pages containing new figures. Attempts by our correspondents to get Enang to react to these allegations were not successful as his mobile phones were constantly switched off.

Even text message, “Distinguished, good afternoon. I had been calling your line since morning and not get-ting through. I wanted to speak with you on the budget saga and what needs to be done.

Tnx,” sent to these same lines, were not replied. However, Chairman Senate Committee on Finance, Senator John Enoh said that those who did the budget swap capitalised on either the innocence or ignorance of those in whose custody the document was kept. Asked why such an operation could be carried out without detection in a system manned by enlightened people, Enoh said: “The swap was made simple given the fact that they brought that budget and immediately after it was laid. We adjourned that same day. If it is in your custody and somebody requested for it without you suspecting that that was the intention, it must have been given away out of ignorance.

The only thing was that the guys were not smart enough to return it before we resumed.” It was learnt that the Senate decided to raise the alarm about the missing budget to expose the scam and the hypocrisy of the executive.

President Muhammadu Buhari had, during his media chat, questioned the rationale behind the purchase of cars by members of the National Assembly and promised to meet with the leadership of the legislature to get them to halt the car purchase.

This position taken by the President was in keeping with his austere posture, but it painted the legislators in bad light and portrayed them as extravagant persons who were insensitive to the plight of the people and the challenges of the economy.

Meanwhile, the Presidency had denied ever withdrawing or substituting the budget presented to the joint session of the National Assembly.

Apparently dissociating Buhari from the purported action of Enang, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, said that nobody except the President could withdraw the budget.

He also said that so far, the President had not withdrawn the 2016 budget. In a reaction to the saga via his Facebook page, Shehu Garba wrote: “Enquiries about the budget: Nobody except the president can withdraw the budget. As far as we know, he hasn’t done that.

The copies in their hundreds have been delivered to both chambers of the National Assembly. ”By tradition, once the budget is submitted, it ceases to be our property.

Enquiries as to where it is, should be directed to the appropriate quarters.” However, Shehu evaded Sunday Telegraph’s enquiries on whether the Presidency would sanction Enang for the role he allegedly played in the missing budget scam.

To this text message, “Oga Shehu, good afternoon Sir. We are doing a story on the ‘missing budget’ and we need to confirm from you why FG chose to change the budget in secret.

Was Sen. Ita Enang acting on his  own or with the consent of the executive? If he acted alone, would FG sack and prosecute him for this embarrassment? Pls kindly respond. Tnx”, sent by one of our correspondents, Garba replied, “Our statement issued two days ago is final on this issue”.

Similarly, Sunday Telegraph contacted the Ministry of Budget and National Planning to ascertain if it was aware of the budget swap and what roles its officials might have played.

A top official in the ministry, who spoke in confidence with one of our correspondents, said the work of the Ministry of Budget and National Planning ended at the point it submitted the prepared budget to the Presidency and it was adopted by the Federal Executive Council. According to the official, it was not the business of the ministry if the budget presented to the National Assembly was changed, stolen or missing.
