BascoVanVeli:I'm not expecting him to let the ball pass. I'm expecting him to have a good contact on the ball and nod it away from the goal since he wasn't under any physical pressure. The closest Iranian player to him was several inches away. |
The own goal was bizarre. It wasn't a difficult header for the defender to make as he wasn't under any pressure. He let his teammates and country down. |
Xhaka's contract has been extended. Apparently Emery is a fan. The dream is to have a midfield trio of Xhaka, Torreira, and Ramsey with the latter two doing most of the running, tackling and pressing while Xhaka, just behind, dictates tempo by stringing his accurate passes. |
caprikon:X-factor was on the bench. That Ramos guy isn't exactly the most popular guy in Egypt atm. |
You have to give it to the South Americans. They just know how to win. |
Here's hoping Rohr gets his tactics spot on too. Yes, and that means playing Ebuehi instead Shehu and somehow shoehorning Iwobi in mid field. ![]() |
50-50 so far. You can see that Cuper got his tactics spot on. Totally neutralised the threat of Suarez and Cavani. Egypt just lacking the individual quality to break down Uruguay at the other end. Hugely missing Salah. |
Bolowolowo:Strange. Uruguay isn't a likeable team. They have Suarez FFS. And Egypt is Africa, yes Arabian Africans, but they are still Africa. ![]() |
Dreamswayne:That has been their strategy under Hector Cuper. It's worked for them so far. |
Pataricatering:You said much worse on the other thread. You aren't just happy it's a woman at the receiving end now. The world would be a great place if everyone speaks against evil regardless of who is at the receiving end. As for you, you are just a hypocrite. |
Bolowolowo:How is the game boring. It's been played at a decent tempo, end to end stuff. Neither team being way better than the other makes for a contest. |
![]() Op, yeah, men, the so-called broke ones, have decided to adopt the "sit down look" approach. Ladies only want made guys? Fair enough, it's their choice, but there aren't enough to go round. We could perhaps go back to polygamy and have the few big boys marry five ladies. Few months (or years) down the line, when the emotional and sexual needs of these ladies aren't met, they will surely find one of these broke guys to satisfy them. That way: 1.Women still practise their hypergamy 2. Men, rich or poor, get to have endless supply of sex Last last everyone go dey alright. ![]() |
Jarus:There's nothing tough about choosing between Dennis and David. The former was insanely good at almost everything an attacking player is expected to be good at. Dennis, easily. |
Lana1:Finishing above Utd isn't an achievement but we won't hesitate to remind you what absolute crap your team is when you want pretend you're some how decent. |
Lana1:You got that. |
SailorXY:It means nothing but it's becoming a rarity these days. I mean we've been crap for years now but we've been finishing above Utd. I wonder what that makes Utd. ![]() |
eph12:Fair point. Congratulations to Man Utd for finishing ahead of Arsenal for the first time in 5 five years. |
SailorXY:watching the boring football played by Man Utd an entire season is wicked and cruel punishment. It's the most downhill anyone can think of. Our wish is mourinho stays there for life. |
sod09:Best time to play city. Most of their players are in the World Cup and they won't be hitting Top Gear at the start of the season. |
SailorXY:No it's Man Utd that always wins the transfer window. It goes downhill for them once the season starts. ![]() |
Why are you taking a Man Utd fan serious. His team is coached by mourinho (by far the most depressing thing) They have nothing nice to look forward to next season. While others can at the very least look forward to enjoying good football, Man Utd will be playing a dire, boring and sleep inducing football next season. I'll be sad too if mourinho were my coach. |
Pataricatering:Only evil men rationalize evil deeds committed by other men. Same way evil women like you are rationalizing a woman who tried to kill her children. It's the way with evil people. They rationalize evil and they usually come up with arguments that seem plausible to them. Corrupt politicians do that. Serial killers do that. Armed robbers do that. Still doesn't make them any less evil. |
AreaFada2:Well said. Genius. Women on nairaland that try to somehow rationalize evil actions of other women are basically rationalizing their actions in real life. They see themselves in these not-so-pleasant women whose stories we read here and all the condemnation such women receive by nairalanders is taken personal of course. ![]() It's similar to what happens in thread involving yahoo yahoo boys. You'll notice they try to justify their actions by pointing fingers at the politicians. |
Spy360:Sane too didn't. It's more reflective of the abundance of talent in that country rather than lack of talent in Leno. |
Spy360:Most of the credit must go to Ivan Gazidis. He eased Wenger out of the club in the most respectful way possible, but before then, ensured he brought in genuine football men. I mean, in Mislintat and Sanllehi we have one of the best scouting and recruitment team. Gazidis knows we can't compete with the Manchester clubs financially so the only way forward is to get top scouts and unearth talents others are unaware of or can't see the hidden potential. Look what Mislintat did at Dortmund some years ago to get the picture. (Dembele, Pulisic, Weigl, Auba, Sokratis etc) |
sod09:And also very good with his legs. Modern goalkeeper that can help start attacks from the back. |
Bernd Leno is next... ![]() |
Spy360:I'm quite optimistic that the recruitment team at Arsenal would come up with a decent looking squad by the start of the season. Arsenal for the first time in a long while seem to be looking at targets that address glaring problems; Winger, DM and CB. Wenger, a great manager and man that he was, would have probably be looking at getting another creative midfielder. |
Spy360:The Torreira deal in particular excites. He is basically a Cazorla-Kante hybrid. |
The most dangerous man is one who has nothing to lose. |
Ordinary can be a blessing |
Real Madrid managerial job is the worst job in the world. Terrible President, annoyingly entitled fans and egoistic players. It's basically a thankless job. look how they treated their managers in the past; Del Bosque, Pellegrini, Benitez....The job is a poisoned chalice. So cool to see managers giving Perez the middle finger now. (shove the job offer up your assss )Get Guti to manage your club, Perez. No decent coach wanna have anything to do with you. |
