Meanwhile, when they say ignorance is blis, there is a little point there. There was no form of anxiety at the CBT stage and even when interview invite was sent. A close friend would beckon on me to check my mail, that he just received a msg from Nnpc, then I will Check and see mine.

Let us try and remain calm. I know at this stage it's not easy now leaving the group or not to stay watching from afar.

In due course, NNPC will notify us all IJN.

It's a tough choice for me. NNPC is no doubt a good place to work. Apart from offering more stability and security, it could also be a stepping to intergovernmental energy organizations like OPEC, which is my ultimate aim. I have read the profile of Nigerians that work in such organizations, especially OPEC. A good number moved from NNPC. Most of their staff from other countries like Saudi and Iran also worked in their country's NOC at some point. I noticed that from the LinkedIn profile of OPEC employees. It looks like NOC experience is highly coveted by OPEC.

I have tried my luck with OPEC twice, without being shortlisted. I strongly suspect it has to do with not having NOC or IOC experience.

That's another attraction of NNPC to me.

But it's a very tough one taking a pay cut to achieve that.

True. Paycut is usually nice at that early career stage. As family increases it starts becoming a tough decision.

Remember u have kept a particular standard of living for maybe above 10yrs of ur career, in case of mine, 11yrs.

For me the difference is close not much. But I wud rather trade the difference for the entitlement I will get when I retire than than nothing upon retirement.

Some persons are specialist/consultants (depending on what your company calls it) in their role. Meaning they are employed for just that role, no GROWTH. Or they dont have terminal benefit like you or they work in a unit that's way out of the career path they planned for. They have a reasonable salary but there is a BUT.

I agree with u, that it's not always abt the pay. But to say NNPC salary won't be upto half of wat u r currently earning and u want to leave, wat else are u looking for.

For me I applied for a supervisor role, the pay would be close, but I dnt have terminal benefit here. Means if I resign today I won't be paid a kobo, cos I earned go pay. It doesn't make sense to me.

But I won't apply for nnpc if the pay is less than half of what I am earning.

I doubt if anyone that interviewed on the 5th have been paid. No one on this thread can confirm so. It's only my friend stories.
I personally know 2persons who hasn't been paid for 5th.

Nairaland may not be a good sample size to measure, but I think at least one person shud have received at out the number of 5th in this group.

There is no relationship whatsoever btw APL and tfare.

Meanwhile I think this tfare thing is solely the manner these guys (King n Farouk) have decided to share the bar. It obviously doesn't have any relationship with APL. What it means is Dat these funds are in the personal account of these guys and they are sharing it the way they deem fit. And not based on any theory.

My issue is this "defender of the oppressed" mentality, that "no one owes anyone". I agree to the point where someone supposedly "on a tight schedule" feels the need to notify us, takes some time to type it out, but cannot spare an extra minute to prepare d shot- it doesn't take more than a minute. There's never been a greater hypocrisy than that.

I only debunked the 1% theory, however I was never in support of the access bank theory.

I strongly believe there is no correlation between the tfare and APL. the number of pple that I know that did on the 5th that are yet to be reimbursed are quite many. 2 in my office alone. And some other outside.

If I recall, someone said he received alert yesterday, if u beliv him or not is ur personal problem. He doesn't have to show u evidence. If the person is lying, it still doesn't concern u. He is only deceiving himself.

1. Tfare list is with finance, they are the ones processing payment. No real reason why payment is being done in batches. However, everyone ll get paid eventuarry.

2. Selection has been completed by HR and list is with the management board for approval.

3. August remains the timeline.

And bro, let's your interview performance be thing of the past and focus on receiving your APL. No one performed absolutely 100%, even some you think performed excellently well when narrating their experience only sounded like that because they are writing it, *they have time to think before writing*.....it wasn't that easy in the room.

Don't be sad because of one question, Just be hopeful and prayerful.. Good luck

During my interview, in the course of answering one of the situational questions, I used a scenario when I was still in the Bank, suddenly, they all exclaimed, "you've worked in the Bank!!"........ I was so shocked and scared, thought of withdrawing the statement, but I said that was many years ago.

Nothing of such. No bias I am guessing it is probably your course of study that may have triggered that response.

Maybe just wondered what u were doing in the bank.

APL will most likely happen before Aug. 13, considering that Aug 12 -13 will be a public holiday for Sallah/Eid-Kabir.
So it's either first week of August (4th - 9th Aug), or after the public holiday from 19th August.
I didn't comment after my interview, but my experience is such that the Panel tend to ask difficult questions if you have very high score (>=90%) in your CBT, and you are an EH. The lady that ushered me in knew my CBT Score, and they already discussed it before the USher-in to face Panel. So, on that note, CBT score may likely be aggregated with your interview score (confidence, communication, precision in answering, dressing, ect). It was the easiest interview I have had in my career life.
Okay ummm, best luck to everyone who are expecting. For me, I have had 2 other interviews with International Oil/Gas/Energy governance sectors after my NNPC interview, and it looks like I will not take NNPC offer even though I am highly likely to make it as an EH (SS1 to be precise).

The funny thing is after the cbt, I moved on. I'm sure many of us did and I didn't even remember I wrote any test until I got the invitation for interview. Then I started to believe, and here we all are today believing and postulating whatever theory suits us.
In all fairness, if we had about 300-500 MDAs conducting recruitments like this (maybe regularly too), things possibly wouldn't be this tensed and everyone would be assured of a good life regardless of where we earn our money.
