Those children broke the law of REVERENCE TO GOD because when they made mockery of Elisha, in extension they also made mockery of God who anionted him. Elisha was not only anionted of God but A CARRIER OF GOD'S DIVINE PRESENCE. Therefore, anyone mocking Elisha was also mocking God. And the Bible made it clear that God cannot be mocked.
