Can't you all see? It's not the money she is asking for, it is attention, attention to her pain, the pain of a mother. Can you imagine what it feels like to 'lose' two sons? She needed to come up with a strategy that will make it hard for her case to be treated like thrash, for people world over to hear her cry, help is all she's crying out for. You and I will not be discussing this if there was no $900 trillion involved! She's a fighter, she get sense, case closed! |
Quote from: Jimmy Boy on December 16, 2011, 07:29 AMVery true, N40k is far from the truth. Yes local suppliers will cheat but you can stop them from cheating you, you need to have your won standard/strategy in place, experience and information gives you that. Oyibos cheat too, not all but some do cheat but if you want to be sincere with yourself, for everyone who got cheated, the real problem was with the payment method used. The payment method you agree to will either make or mar you in international trade. I'm almost certain you did C.A.D and not just CAD but CAD the Nigerian way. Talking about the Nigerian guy in Germany, I believe you are talking about Ogunjobi of Cruise Energy, he is an unrepentant fraudster, exporters beware. Be well informed about your choice of business, in export since you are the seller, you should be in charge, choose who you agree to sell to and the terms you agree to. Every business has its own challenges, there's no challenge that is insurmountable, just be on top of your game. |
gunuvi:Getting NEPC license is as simple as ABC so there's no need to avoid it. Nobody will ask you for "kickback, kickfront" and no one would waste your time. All you need is to have the original documents of your company (not business name but a limited liability company) i.e form C02, C07, certificate of incorporation etc. They only need it for sighting and also verify that part of what your company is registered for is 'import-export.' Also go with photocopies because that is what they will collect. The people at NEPC are friendly not hostile, government is trying to encourage export so they try not to frustrate those showing interest in export. You will pay N1000 for the form and N10,000 when submitting, total N11,000. You will need to write a simple letter, few lines, applying for export certificate to allow your company carry out formal export. Of course you will use your letterhead. You will also need your company seal or stamp in the course of filling the form. Truth is if you go prepared, you can collect the form, fill and submit same day, thereafter you will be told when to come for your certificate. In practice, you can get your license in less than a week. The license is valid for 2 years before there's need for renewal again. newacca:To do small scale export, you don't need to be licensed but to do serious exporting, sending your goods in containers through the seaport to different parts of the world- yes you need export license (certificate). To do this you will need to register your own limited liability company, thereafter proceed to NEPC with N11,000, original document for sighting and photocopies too. Also makesure you have a company seal or stamp too. As of today Feb. 2012 you will need around N635,000. You can visit http://www.box.com/s/74yu1p2ccz3uoftpvrqb and also www.exportnigeria.info for more information |
Paypal once accepted Nigerians, they stopped in 2005 or thereabout. Whether they accept us or not, people still find ways to do legit online businesses. Not all Nigerians are fraudulent, even if they don't know at least we know! Google loves us, Facebook loves us, Yahoo loves us because they have eyes for business! |
Exponental:Abi oooo, do so and you shall be richly rewarded with national honours! |

I won't be shocked for a second if he is, I once read a post on this forum, not too long after their IPO, how he has refused to pay staff salary blah blah blah The problem with most of our "rich men" is they've not learnt to separate business from their private lives/purse. Not that they don't know but they have an attitude that says 'who will dare question me?' They fail to come to terms with the fact that once your company goes public it's no longer 'my company' it becomes 'our company', to them it's still business as usual. |
No competition, Google is far bigger and can get traffic faster! Don't forget that the rest rely on Google (Adword, SEO) for their traffic too. bioye:Good thinking, could be true. |
Too much beer, eating late at night. |

It's not surprising at all, there's something about the Nigerian spirit, doesn't quit easily, hoping against hope, it's the 'one day e go better' spirit, that fighting spirit. Even when we are in other parts of the world it's still there. It's only Nigerians that can live in Nigeria the way we have for decades and still be optimistic, other African countries would have recorded wars while the whites would have committed suicide in their thousands! The only problem I have with us is that we work hard but not necessarily smart, we are not physically lazy but a good percentage of Nigerians are mentally lazy! |
I went to APTECH and my brother New Horizon, the difference is heaven and earth, APTECH is faaaaar better, now he wants to go to Aptech too. APTECH always, APTECH rules, go to APTECH. Above all no school can really teach you they can only lay a foundation, to go far you are the one that will train and re-train yourself, soak yourself in deep search for more and more IT knowledge /skills, network and interact with other IT pple! So with a good foundation you can drive yourself to greater IT exploits. |
Good question. That got me thinking and I still don't have an answer, still thinking and thinking and thinking! Okay, now I know why. Boys are many real MEN are just too few, still screening! |
OYINBOGOJU:Charcoal export is lucrative but as someone with strong Japan link you can also consider sesame seed export as well, as at the last check Japan is the biggest buyer of sesame seed of Nig. origin |
Nice one, bold step, we are getting there gradually, wish you success. |
@Dede1 Does he need to hold an appointment in this country for him to be a chief 419? His case is that of pot calling kettle black, let them all go to h*ll, we know them! |
Charcoal Export Wood charcoal is in high demand in different parts of the world especially Europe. It is about the easiest and cheapest to export in Nigeria. It cost an average of N680,000 to export a 40ft container of charcoal(BULK). It is one of those products available in commercial quantity, several tons readily available for export especially during dry season. Wood Charcoal of Nigerian origin is no doubt one of the best in the world and it is highly sought after. Foreign Uses Wood charcoal exported from Nigeria is used as fuel for cooking. Using it as fuel in preparation of barbeque and in restaurants. Buying Countries Some of the countries who import charcoal are United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Netherland, Greece, China etc. Harvest Period In Nigeria charcoal season commences from October – May. The most important thing is to buy in dry weather, moisture is the enemy of charcoal. Supply Location Charcoal can be found in commercial quantity in Benue, Kwara and Oyo. Of these three states Oyo is the major producer because of availability and proximity to Lagos. Local Price of Commodity N410,000- 430,000 worth of charcoal, equivalent to 23/MT will fill a 40ft container. FOB Price The FOB price of charcoal ranges from Euro 175-185/MT based on negotiation power. When the charcoal is Bagged price per metric ton could be 220 Euro or higher depending on the requirement of the buyer. The FOB price simply means that the buyer takes responsibility for the payment of shipment , shipment fee is not included in the price you are quoting. This is okay as most buyers tend to prefer this method. ROI Return On Investment on wood charcoal export is an average of 30% per transaction. The good part is you can easily calculate what your profit will be based on prevailing market price and international price per time. That helps you make an informed decision on whether the ROI is worth it per time. Let’s do a simple calculation below Total Cost =N680,000 FOB Price= 180 Euro/MT No. of Tons= 23 Selling Price of Charcoal= 180 x 23= 4140 Euro Convert to Naira= 4140 x 210 = N869,400 Less Bank Charge= N869,400 - N8,694 = N860,706 Profit= N860,706 - N680,000= N180,706 So exporting a container of charcoal can give you a profit of N180,000, meaning if you export 5 containers per time you can make a profit of N900k per transaction. Duration It takes an average of 6 weeks (all things being equal) to successfully complete this export transaction. Depending on payment method used, most times a good percentage of your money would have been paid even before ship gets to destination port. Export business is real in Nigeria and it is growing everyday. Gradually more and more companies and the Federal Government are beginning to see reasons to look in the direction of the non-oil sector. Exporting of agricultural produce, solid mineral export and commodities in general will be the next big thing in this country. The beauty of it is that it has the capacity to create more employment than we’ve ever known. I see a Nigeria in which people will be going back home instead of US, UK, Canada, Abuja, Lagos to seek greener pastures. I beleive now is the time to get on board before the band wagon effect sets in as usual. If you have any export related question feel free to call 08033792673 (no SMS pls) You can also send an email to tryexport@gmail.com. Also if you desire Export Training or need Foreign Buyers you can call, send an email or visit http://www.exportnigeria.info www.charcoalexport.com

How can you solve a problem you do not truly understand? To me the world bank agenda is her agenda, she's been with them since she was young, Nigeria comes second and as far as I'm concerned Oyibos have nothing to offer the black man. Not sure I really want to go deeper, |
Generator repair? What will happen by the time power problem in 9ja gets solved? You can still acquire that as a skill without necessarily going into the university for that, you can focus on automobile instead. By the way what's driving you, is it the money you hope to make eventually once you acquire this knowledge? If money is the key reason then I'll suggest you go for whatever is available and could be lucrative. Have a plan B, time waits for no man. |
This post was made in 2007, doubt if he needs the information anymore ace2ice:Nice business concept! |

hugooh42:Well said. Youth or general unemeployment in Nigeria is not new, it's been there before I was born and if we don't get it right at Presidential and Gubernatorial level then it can only grow worse not better. I'm not a pessimist, I'm just saying the obvious! |
