So you are changing tack now, abi? It's no longer an obvious flop but now poor equilibrium and a truck load of whataboutism. Lol, abeg sit.

There is a reason attacking someone from behind is considered cowardly and grossly effeminate - you've given the person no chance to steel or defend himself from harm consciously or by instinct.

And no I didn't call out Jokic a second time, I responded to people still gloating after seeing the replays of the carnage wrought by the human projectile and knowing the aftermath of that attack.

If something (e.g a car) or someone heavy or powerful and in motion hits you from behind abruptly, the inertia generated could snap your neck causing a whiplash(a neck injury) which can kill or maim or cause brain damage or mental problems.

We saw the danger on that video and called Jokic out but the voice of the many drowned out the voice of the few.

*******************
From day 1 I always posited that appropriate sanctions should be meted against dirty plays and players. My only grouse with what transpired remains excessive retaliation and it hasn't changed.
It always surprises me when people expect retaliation to be rational. You hurt someone, and said person while experiencing both pain and anger instinctively retaliates, and somehow we think said decision will be rational.
When people are emotionally compromised, especially from negative emotions, never expect rational behaviors from them. That is why if you do not want to be on the receiving end of such irrational reaction, you do not mess with people in the first place.

One thing you can guarantee about the nba is that their trade deadlines is always explosive.

The east playoff is literally a blood bathe right now.
The bucks, heats,, Nets, sixers, cavs and bulls when healthy are solid.

Plus you still have the Celtics and hawks that can cause a first round upset
Assin, there is a real possibility that at least 4 of the playoff series could be 7 game thrillers. Cause if they are all healthy it will be a slug fest.
IMHO, on paper, the Nets have the best team if they everybody is healthy and playing because they just covered up their two biggest weakness in just one trade.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 7:26pm On Feb 10, 2022
The Sixers, Nets trade makes a lot of sense for both sides. If all things go well, this will be one of those trades that is not only a fair deal but both teams also got better

Lol. You don dey support your player now grin. Wall and Westbrook are like for like. Just that he might make a bit more layups
The only thing I can say for Wall is that if he stays fit, he will not shoot 27% and he will not jack up bad shots on poor shooting nights.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 7:14pm On Feb 09, 2022
It's high time the Lakers call Houston, Russ for Wall. A disaster for a disaster grin cheesy grin, maybe it fits better.

Lol. Even though Simmons is desperate to leave Philly I don't think joining forces with Anfernee is top of his list. Ain't no superstar going to Portland to join forces with Simmons and Simon.
Ben Simmons has no choice, he has 4yrs left on his deal, and he has insisted he will play anywhere but Philly. As for the Blazers, if they can get Simmons and some picks or players, they can afford to tank for the rest of this season and then hope they make the right pick at the next draft.

PS: The Pacers and Kings trade is kind of weird, I understand what the Pacers are trying to do, but what does the Kings get from this.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 7:21pm On Feb 08, 2022
steady986:
CJ to the Pelicans. At this point the Blazers should just give us Dame and take Westbrook. Westbrook would help them tank well.
If I hear, the best deal for the Blazers is with the Sixers. A starting backcourt of Simmons and Anfernee Simon's is not a bad place to start from

Indeed, I fear he WILL suffer cognitive issues. He has taken some lickings over the years. More than any QB. I remember what the legion of boom did to him. Its only a matter of time IMO
At one point, the wife was complaining about the number of concussions he's had.

She was rejoicing while they were down? That's a bit weird. But for me it's only right he retired with his full faculties intact. Playing an extra season, winning an 8th ring, what difference does it make? His achievements are never going to be matched in our lifetime. He's already proven he was the more important ingredient by winning a Superbowl his first season without Belichick. Nothing left to prove
Assiin, it was as if she was at his retirement party.

We all know if Tom Brady was single he would still be playing. He did this to appease his madam.

Gronk probably retires too
Gronk can only play for a team where the QB, is willing to do what Brady does for him on every play.

Agree, the issue for Brady is his age. His family does not need the money, so with his wife and daughter especially, complaining to him about how they feel when he gets hit, he had no choice but to retire.
As soon as I saw the clip where madam was rejoicing in the vip booth while oga was losing 27-3 to the Rams, I knew he was calling it quits.

PS: Personally I don't blame her, nobody wants to have a spouse who is having cognitive issues in their old age due to concussions that occurred because a 45 year old man was hit by a 270lbs 24 year old who runs a 4.4s 40.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 4:08am On Jan 31, 2022
So the question is, did Stafford all of a sudden become a good QB?
He is the poster child of how a dysfunctional organization can make a very good player look like a scrub.

Jimmy G on the other hand is the poster child of why wins and losses should not be a QB stat.

LOL. I forgot about the Arsenal connection. Maybe it’s their turn seeing that the Glazers won with the Bucs last year.

I have always pitied those Detroit OGs. Imagine one organisation wrecking Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson so badly they retired practically in their prime.
Stafford without injuries and a crappy organisation is better than his record says. He is not tier 1 level but he wasted his prime with a clueless and moribund franchise.
Absolutely, I will never put Stafford in the Brady, Manning or Rodgers category but if he had gone to a sensible organization IMHO he is the same bracket as Philip Rivers

Mahomes has done a lot over the last 2 months in proving he can win anyhow and that he still runs the AFC. I have never doubted his greatness. We saw the old Mahomes against the Bills last night as A. Reid unleashed him and asked him to just go play ball and be himself.

I don't care so much about Stafford. While he has some good numbers/ stats, I don't think he can reel a team to a title while being the most important piece. He almost choked them out of that W last night but also out a good final drive for that FG. More importantly, I have a personal beef with The LA Rams because of S. Kroenke who also doubles as the owner of Arsenal . Watching how much that LA Rams roster cost and comparing it to my Arsenal struggling to put a good first 11 makes me sick to my stomach.
Stafford was not the one causing turnovers or making bad snaps. He outplayed Brady all through the game, yes Aaron is the best player on the team, but Stafford has always been in the very good category. He had just never had the talent around him to do anything because of being in a dysfunctional organization.
Just his first season with a talented roster and he is playing for a chance to get to the Superbowl.

My goodness. I would take either mahomes or allen over any other qb in the league!
You cannot go wrong with either one of them. But the Bills must not relent, they should try via FA or the Draft to improve their defense especially their front 7. They must push all their chips in for the final year of Allen rookie contract and worry about the cap situation later
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 4:16am On Jan 24, 2022
What a game Mahomes and Josh, just painted amasterpiece shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked.

PS: This game is another reason why wins and losses should not be a QB stat. Allen only lost because Mahomes got the ball first. But in 2-3months one idiot will start saying Allen is 3-3 in the playoffs so he chokes.

I had Ngannou winning but how he ended up doing it completely took me by surprise. His fight IQ has improved drastically. I was in awe

I like Josh Allen in this matchup. It's his chance to seize the moment

And as for Ryan Tannehill. The Titans have to absolutely start shipping for another QB. There's nothing worse than wasting a team's potential with a QB that's not that dude, just like the Cowboys and Dak Prescott
Ngannou's growth is really remarkable, his new team has absolutely evolved his fight game. From fighting patiently against Stipe, to using Grappling against Gane. Truly remarkable

Of course if you are talking PG as in job function Kyrie does not crack top 10. I think people mean that is his position, so even though he is a terrible PG, he is very skilled at scoring and dribbling
Thanks, because I was making a list of PGs of the last 40years I would take ahead of Kyrie and brodaly the list is long.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 3:02am On Jan 13, 2022
This Kyrie is the most skilled PG talk is always popping up. Can anyone please explain the criteria for the most skilled PG?
I understand handles and the plethora of finishing moves Kyrie can bring to bear, but is that all the criteria for the most skilled PG?
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 4:44pm On Jan 10, 2022
A game like yesterday's raiders vs chargers is why I will never count wins and losses as a QB stat. Herbert played as well as anybody could but somehow he eats a L, because his team lost through no fault of his. Staley needs to take a chill pill and reevaluate his 4th down calls as well.
Shout out to Derek Carr, he played one of the best games I've ever watched him play and his defense made great stops throughout the whole game.

MJ had so much protection from the refs in the 90s, it was not just only when others guarded him, he also had calls go his way when he committed blatant fouls. In the 80s though he took the beating like every other player

The level of hype when this kid was picked over ja morant was bananas. It is really wild to see how things have reversed. I agree with you, get rid of this guy while he has value, take the L and move on. This is looking like a Greg Oden type disaster. At least Oden tried to play, but not much you can do about injuries. In this case Zion does not seem to have the will to do better.
Oden's case is understandable, just like penny and GHill, injuries derailed some well laid plans. Zion’s case all boils down to weight issues, if he sheds the excess weight and the injuries keep occurring, then he is free from blame. But as long as he continues to weight north of 300 pounds as a 6ft 6ish basketball player, he will continue to get injured.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 3:38am On Jan 07, 2022
The way things are going now, I think the Pelicans should seriously consider trading Zion. The stories that keep coming out about his rehab just points to him not being reliable
