Hi guys, A suspected Ebola patient vomited on flight from Lagos to dubai yesterday. The lady looked really healthy and pretty. She was ordered not to leave the flight until the ambulance came, after which she was interrogated and she admitted she was from serrialone. My point is that Nigeria is not serious about border control with the infected countries. How did she get to Lagos? What did she come and do? Well hope the Ebola is actually gone and I hope the Government is not trying to hide something |

By SaharaReporters, New York The Screening Appeal Panel of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), headed by the former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Abiodun Olujimi, has said it refused to clear the incumbent Governor of Bayelsa State because of weighty security allegations against him. On Timi Alaibe, the panel said it lacked “the mandate to grant a waiver” and that only the PDP National Working Committee is constitutionally empowered to grant such request. The panel’s first report, which was published by Saharareporters, said of the situation concerning the governor, “His Excellency Sylva as a sitting governor presented all relevant documentary evidence in respect of his application as gubernatorial aspirant. He equally defended himself on allegations of anti-party activities.” But the report, which was signed by Olujimi and the panel’s secretary, Hon. Abba Anas Adamu, then said: “…On the issues of security as raised in the petition by Oracles Law Firm and by the screening panel, the appeal panel lacks adequate information and the technical know how to reach a defendable decision.” It said that security issues were beyond the scope of its assignment, and recommended, “The National Working Committee and the elders of the party looks into the matter and decide appropriately.” On Doukpola Amaebi, the panel affirmed that the aspirant had not properly disengaged from his previous place of work as no original relevant documents were sighted. It therefore recommended withdrawal of the aspirant’s tprovisional clearance. Turning to Orufa Boloubo, the panel said that the tax receipt presented by him affirmed that payments were made when they were due. Gov. Sylva continues to take on the PDP, claiming that the party didn't have the power to disqualify him from the state party primaries after an initial panel cleared him to participate. On its part, the NWC has yet to release the second batch list containing names of candidates cleared to run for the Bayelsa state primaries. That list initially excluded Mr. Sylva. Yesterday, it scandalously emerged that officials and elders of the PDP were engaged in the extortion of N500 million from the governor in order to clear him to run. SaharaReporters sources said the party elders had originally played along with President Goodluck Jonathan's determination to exclude Sylva from the governorship race. But they then saw an opportunity in the stalemate for a huge payday through extorting huge sums of money from Sylva by offering him assurances that his name would emerge in the party's second list, which was expected yesterday. As blind desperation met insatiable greed, the bank vaults of President Jonathan’s home state were thrown open to help put Sylva’s name back on the PDP primaries ballot. |

Am sure you might have seen this photo somewhere on the net if you are someone that keenly follows the happenings in Nigeria. The unfortunate and sad incident happened in Warri recently. The man in the pictures was shot dead on Tuesday by some unknown gunmen. The man whose name is Ighoyefe Oyubu allegedly went out for a drink with friends but opted to go back home when it was getting late. Reports have it that about 11pm some some armed men broke into his home and shot him without taking anything. Upon graduation from Igbenedion university and law school, he proceeded to the UK for his masters. The dude who was just 28yrs old left behind his 5 month old pregnant wife. May his Soul rest in peace. I am worried as to why armed robbers will come to kill someone without taking anything, sounds suspicious! |

Former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday said President Goodluck Jonathan won the April 16 presidential election. Tinubu, who is also a leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, noted that until his party said otherwise, the presidential poll could be described as free and fair. Speaking at Unit 047, Ward 3 where he cast his vote during the governorship/House of Assembly election, Tinubu, however, said the electoral reform initiated by the late President Umaru Yar’Adua was on course but still needed a review. According to him, after the general elections, there will be a need to review the electoral reform in order to make amends where necessary. He said, “A democrat sincerely must be ready to accept the result of a free and fair election at any time, in order to deserve the joy of victory at any given time, that is my principle, that is what I believe. “Our party is yet to review the entire general elections, collate necessary data and do a verification test, we are still in election mood, I have accepted the result of the presidential election for now, until my party calls a meeting.” Condemning the spate of violence which rocked some parts of the North last week, the former governor said, “I am not indifferent to the sanctity of human life, leadership altercation can’t bring back lost lives, we should examine the causes of the problem while government should provide adequate compensation, though nothing can buy back the lives of the dead youth corps members. We need to restore hope in the system. |
