Jimmychuks2018: I do wish the MP in Ontario will even answer somebody. There is nothing much one can do but wait and wait. I placed a call to cic today with respect to my wife's application and the automated system stated clearly that applications recieved after May 9th are not yet being processed. Meaning its pointless looking for update if you applied after May 9th. I just know one thing sha...none of my children will be Nigerian by birth.. Its well. 1 Like |

Travel / Re: In A Dilemma Of Studying Abroad Or Serving The Country (NYSC) by kife(m): 11:00am On May 28, 2016 |
It all depends on your short term and long term goals. If you have the funds for an Msc abroad, I did like to think you should go get it, over 30yrs, you simply apply for an exemption cert. And life goes on. Moreso, studying abroad isn't as easy as it appears, a lot of planning goes into the process, getting admission, getting the relevant documents, and then filing for visa can really be challenging and time consuming. So during the time frame, you may as well begin your NYSC program, and travel when you secure a visa.QED! 2 Likes |

Finestlex: I will like to understand you bro, is it that Job prospects are low for international students with a pub Admin degree? Or that it's not a relevant course of study to the Canadian Economy? |

mickeyenglish: if your claims of applying for a PR from Nigeria are true to the letter, it's best you worked even more assiduously to get the PR. Upon immigration, u pay domestic student fees as against the high tuition fees paid by international students. Also, as a PR, the benefits are just invaluable. 1 Like |

justwise: Well said! I appreciate your sincerity, indeed alot of Nigerians have misrepresented the national image far too long. Yet, not having an account that runs in millions shouldn't be a factor to limit the dreams of a purpose driven fellow. I tell you this, not every Nigerian wants Canada, most prefer Europe, they go as far as sailing through the Mediterranean Sea on some plastic boat, risking their lives, just to get to Europe...why? To alleviate the poverty and lead a better life. For few who obviously have some educational background, North America is the Focus, should they give it all up and stay growing old in Nigeria because they don't have a "Heavy account". I think not! Canada isn't the only place to fulfill ones destiny, yet, it's a better place to grow a career as compared to my dear country Nigeria, QED! 5 Likes |

justwise: Means : the means here isn't an issue, anyone who can afford visa fees, air tickets and has access to accommodation or even friends and family who could lend a helping hand abroad is a solvent aspirant. Dreams : am so glad you agree that a quest to immigrate is a dream, a worthwhile one at that. Crime: compromise is no crime in this case, one must follow open doors. If crime was the focus, I like to think, going through a visa process says differently. From all your post, I have come to realise you are one of the individuals who have invaluable information about Canada, such that can help increase the standard of living of the good people of Nairaland. It's a call to assist them with this invaluable information and have heavens bless you! 4 Likes |

justwise: There is nobody that intends to travel for any other reason other than for a better future. Sadly some individuals with this noble intention do not have the kind of accounts that presents them as viable students, this doesn't make them insolvent. I believe you of all people should understand that Nigeria is tough, so tough as it were. If one has say about a million naira, it's enough to sort things out for starters but to CIC, such an individual is Insolvent. What then should such an individual do? Stay put in Nigeria? Efforts must be made for purpose driven individuals, and that I believe is part of the questions asked, QED! 3 Likes |

ademolamiowon: Germany is ok, it's the strongest economy in Europe to the best of my knowledge. Yet recall that there is the language barrier factor. People without good educational background really have a tough life in the UK. There are people who travel only to become redundant and worse off than they were back in Nigeria. As it were, this is the resulting effect of travelling abroad unprepared. He should take out time to understand what ever terrain he finally decides to indulge, if he fits into the system, a visa is sure. A round peg may fit into a square hole in Nigeria, but overseas, the story is different. Godspeed! |
Business / Re: Nigeria, China Currency Swap Won’t Fix FX Demand Backlog-Businessday by kife(m): 7:15am On Apr 20, 2016 |
“The agreement we have with China will not solve our problem in the LONG RUN . The only solution for us is to start EXPORTING . We must increase our exports to China if we are to have a substantial amount of yuan in our reserves,” Ayodele said. It's not a debatable issue, this is common economic theory, and no big deal. The fiscal/monetary policies in place still makes importation not so attractive. Moreso, it's not even an issue of governance, it's an issue of interest. If national interest more than outweigh self interest, if posterity is prioritized over prosperity by the Nigerian business moguls, I would like to think, we actually can get it right. The currency swap deal with China has, is and will always be a necessary condition. God bless Nigeria! 3 Likes |
