My brother I just tire for IRCC, they can be weird these days. My country of residence wasn’t Nigeria, I didn’t apply from Nigeria, 98% my documents are not from Nigeria only police report thingy and property document proof. Still my application was sent to Nairobi. I just tire!

But your passport says Nigerian and you are submitting home ties to Nigeria with those property and police report.

In 2019, I submitted for my wife from Dubai, nothing from a Nigeria and it was sent to Abu Dhabi.

IRCC is a really unpredictable organization, we rely on grace and favor from God.

This is not possible, they will ask for country of residence on the forms, that's what determines the visa processing office..Even if the visa is processed under your Mycic account.

In my experience, creating seperate cic and using individual email addresses saves you confusion.
IRCC easily get things confused and complicate issues...keep it simple!!

Pls guys does a SOWP holder require a written authorization to fly to Canada? Cos I just spoke to IRCC and they said yes he does and sent me a follow up email to that effect. We don buy ticket already o. Did anyone fly recently with a SOWP? Was an authorization required at the airport?

My wifes GCMS file says she didn't need travel authorization.

However, I submitted a request as there was so much confusion online and just got the authorization letter.

So its important to apply ahead of time to avoid storiee

She cant. She doesnt have a status in Canada that will qualify her spouse for SOWP yet. Study visa approval is not a status. Anyone can apply for a visitor visa at anytime. She will try to make her case.

Hello everyone good evening. I am from the student thread, although my PPR hasn't been approved yet I'd like to make enquiries about SOWP so I can know how to go about it once my study permit is approved.

I am currently engaged and applied single but plan to do my court wedding before I travel so I can apply for SOWP for my fiance once I get to Canada.

However, I would like to enquire if it's possible to apply for SOWP for him without an undergraduate. He currently has only WAEC certificate and although he's presently a student of NOUN he is not done yet and so therefore no degree certificate. He once started OND in Yabatech but never completed it so presently his highest educational qualification is WAEC.

Although he's an entrepreneur with a business, good pof and account statement I'd like to know if it's possible to apply for SOWP without an actual undergraduate degree.

Or is it advisable to wait until after he is done with school in NOUN and use the degree certificate to apply.

I tried reading through previous pages but I did not see any list for documents required for SOWP.

I would really appreciate your input and advice on this and it is a dilemma that has been on my mind. Thank you.

Education isn't a formal requirement for an openwork permit.

Being that you already filed single- make sure you supply proof beyond reasonable doubt that you guys are truly married.

Document him as an entrepreneur and furnish proof of business and ties to home country Nigeria.

In my experience, the most important element of this application is:

1. Establishing the proof that you have sufficient home ties to compel you to return back home at the expiration of your permit.

2. For people married post-approval, proof beyond reasonable doubt that this is a legitimate marriage- if you stated married pre-approval, this is easier.

3. Sufficient economic and financial resources must be demonstrated clear enough that an officer has no doubts.

4. For those applying under case C41 (spouse of foriegn worker) please ensure that your job letter is well detailed to clearly express that you meet the eligibility requirements of NOC 0,A or B.

For Case C40 (spouse of international students) you must clearly establish in a letter of explanation that the presence of your partner is integral to your success as an international student.

5.Take time to arrange your documents in as much details as possible as some of these officers don't fully understand the impact of separation on marriages.

6. Please pray, pray and pray �

I moved to Canada as an international student in August of 2016.
From 2017 till 2021 Feb, I have continued to try to bring my wife to join me, we had applied for:

2 study permits- Refused
3 work permits- Refused

The 6th application I reluctantly submitted as the generic refusals were quite annoying already, but to the glory of God that got approved.

Its been 4 painful years of trying and retrying...
Lots of traveling back and forth to Nigeria..

We had concluded plans to relocate to the UK but God came through at the 11.59th hour.

For all those waiting, may your approvals come knocking soon.

If you ever experience delays, please don't give up, get your Gcms, fix their issues and refire, keep refiring...they will eventually approve.


Time line:

NB-Medical was passed in February, though application was refused.

The medical request came even though we had submitted upfront medicals, we raised series of webforms got no response...they just updated to Pass

Hi,

For passport transmission, Abuja is still the best in Nigeria. Between one to two weeks, you will get your stamped passport. I noticed from my GCMS notes ordered after arriving in Canada that my TRV for student was affixed in Abuja despite sending through the Lagos VFS. So there is a chance most/all passports end up in Abuja after all.

If this application is at Nairobi, don't stress it, they will release the file eventually.

They have been giving this lame responses for a while now, African visa centre's are just never straightforward.

As far as I know, unless he is in Jail, there is absolutely no reason for him not to reach you.

This is not a case of "I want to be with my husband"

This is more of, does the man consider you his wife?

Of all things...communication is non-negotiable in a long distance affair...
Not being in communication for months is more than enough reason to love and protect yourself 1st...thats not marriage.

Indicate that you are married and do the name change as appropriate.

This will go a long way to remove any doubts when shes applying to join you.

Spouses at the time of application find things easier than spouses post approval.

Applications can be:

Online
In paper
In person (at a land border),just tell the CBP officers you want to do a flagpole

With all your documents, you should get it in a few mins.

I did not know that I would need my passport but now, I need to go to the USA (work related) and I have a valid US visa in it. How do I ask for my passport back without cancelling my application? Contact VFS, they will let you know the procedures.
Meanwhile, Since you have US visa, why waste your time with applying in Lagos?

You could visit the Canadian/Us border either from Detroit or Michigan at the Blue water bridge even New York..
There you apply in person and get it same day.
IRCC only takes application money and reject applications at will when its coming from Nigeria.

I intend to try visit, but my wife will have to leave Nigeria on studies first.

When she arrives Europe and has begun her studies. She then can reapply and have the foriegn 0ffice process her application not this same savages.

I will emphatically tell you two things, thoughLondon office faced alot of backlogs and dur to that your application was delayed beyond expectations. The main reason I see here is because as at the time of review, your Studypermit is less than 6 months to go, so that was the reason to me. Bros extend your SP if need be and apply again please.

My study permit is not done until Dec 2020.

As a matter of fact, they just issue me a work permit valid till 2020 as well.

They just didn't want to issue ...had nothing to so with my permits ...

Same London crap, they are processing, they are processing....

Even the MP'S office at a point got tired of the crap, they only started consoling me.

I have never seen this type of crap before.

Its my final term in the summer, this is my 3rd year in Canada and the whole thing is driving my wife nuts...shes gradually loosing her sanity in all of this crap..
